10.4.9 in AD password users password won't change

I changed a users password in AD but the mac will still use the old password. Anyone know why this might be?
Thanks,
Michael

I cannot change the password on my linksys befw11s4 v4.  I go to the screen to change it, I type in the new password and reenter/confirm and select apply, then it tells me that changes are successful and it will reroute me back to the previous page in 5 seconds.  When it goes back to the previous page, the password hasn't changed and I haven't successfully secured the router.  It's still showing the router as unsecured.  Any suggestions?

Clear your browser's cache, turn off any software firewall and try again. You can also try doing it on a different computer.

please help me out in this matter.

How did you change your user name?
resetpassword wouldn't have done it. If you managed to create a new user, then your data is still in the old account.

Also I cant make a right click on the pad. Is that normal?

Your first going to have to remove all your personal data off the machine to a external storage drive, do not use TimeMachine when it asks as this will copy the entire drive and is unnecessary at this time (also takes too long).
You need to drag and drop copy your personal data folders (Music, Pictures, Movies etc) to a external storage drive, once done, unmount and disconnect this drive.

Next your going to follow the Zero Erase and install method for your OS X version, either 10.6 or 10.7, here
How to reinstall just OS X or erase/install OS X
10.7 requires your AppleID and password to install, so make sure to have that ready.
Once you reboot your into the real setup of OS X, which will require your name etc, so it's now your machine.
Install your programs, iLife package is only free for the owner of the machine.
If you have the 10.6 machine specific disks, then it's on there.
If your using 10.7, then you'll have to purchase it from the App Store.
Last, return your files from the storage drive, consider setting up a TimeMachine or clone on the external drive.

  • Communication user is not requested change password

    Hi
We have set a general rule, that users must change password every 90 days (login/password_expiration_time). We have now had a communication user in the system for more than 5 months, and the password is still not expired.
How can this be? Shouldn't communication users be forced to change the password?
In table USR02 I can see a field XUPWDSTATE - "Password Change Mandatory / Optional (See Domain XUPWDSTATE)", but I can't find any documentation on this field. The values are 0,1,254,255. Does anybody know what these values mean and how/when they are set.
    Thank you for your help.

    Well, that's a common misunderstanding:
accounts of type "COMMUNICATION user" are subject of password expiration - however the password change requirement is not enforced (since the server cannot interact with the user). Actually that's not mainly caused by the user type but by the communication protocol being used: RFC and HTTP allow both, interactive and non-interactive system usage. Only the DIAG protocol (used by SAPGUI) ensures that an interaction with the user is possible - and in this case the system is enforcing a password change (when required).
Note 622464 provides an overview on the user types and the ability / requirement to change passwords (and other impacts).
Side-remark: modifying the USR02 field would not have any impact on the password change handling (beside the fact that such direct table manipulations are risky and strongly discouraged).
As reported by other SDN community members (and stated in note 320991, quite at the end) there are some profile parameters that will cause RFC and HTTP based logon to fail for passwords which are expired / initial. Setting those profile parameters will result in a downwards-incompatible system behavior - for this reason the default setting is "off".
Indeed, if you intend to use "technical accounts" for (automated) system-to-system communication, then kindly use the user type "SYSTEM". In that case, the password is neither "expired" nor "initial" - no password change is required nor can it be performed by the SYSTEM user itself. Only an user administrator can set a new password (in systems as of NWAS 7.0: even a downwards-compatible one - despite the password policy, see notes referenced by note 622464).

  • The user's password must be changed before signing in

I have set up a new laptop with a new of users.
One of these attempted to access their account, and was asked to reset their password however this screen has got stuck. The password they enter is correct (we have tried it on a different machine) but we just get the screen 'The users password must be changed
    before signing in'
Can't get back to the start screen, can't try and login as a different user, and when I force a restart then the screen just comes back, and when I've left the battery to run down also the same screen comes back.
When I can sometimes get the screen to go away then the screen is just blue (no markings of any kind, plain blue), and if I click or move mouse the login screen comes back.
    Any advice gratefully received

    Hi,
Regarding current situation, let’s try following steps to check the issue:
Step 1: Power the system off, remove the USB plugs for both the mouse and keyboard and move them to different USB ports. Power the machine back on and wait 2-3 minutes to make sure Windows has detected and set up the devices again.
If step 1 doesn’t work, please try step 2:
Step 2: Basically windows 8.1 stopped all the USB ports from working. Go into BIOS, for USB configuration:
Changed it to Intel XHCI mode: Disabled
    Legacy USB Support : Enabled.
    Hope these could be helpful.

  • When downloading an update from app store, password is requested from a different user.  How to change user?

when downloading an update from app store, password is requested from a different user.  How to change user?

Unfortunately there's no way around this.  you will need that password to update the apps. If he won't give it to you, then i'm not sure what to say.
You should have kept the account with the Apps you bought yourself.
Otherwise, as I said, delete the Apps, and buy them again.
    Sorry.

  • How can I give an user the right to change passwords

I'm still absolute server beginner, so I have to ask here.
How can I give users the right to change passwords or to view calendars?
    I didn't find it, yet.
I've found an option to change rights, when I click on the user with two fingers (right mouse button). But all options in this menue are grey.

    Hi Holger,
These are two fundamentally different issues. I'll try to address them each. For both you will need to have OpenDirectory set up (see the Users Next Steps list in the Server app). Once that is done. Additionally you will need the Server Admin Tools 10.7. Once you have them installed, you can specify the OpenDirectory password requirements for users
    User Passwords in OpenDirectory
On the server, open Server Admin app.
Connect to you server, then click on the OpenDirectory service.
    Click on the Settings icon.
    Click on the Policies tab.
Click on the Passwords sub-tab, and you can set all the criteria for password requirements here.
    Resetting Passwords
Users must log in as network users on the client computer.
Once logged in, to change the password, open System Preferences.
    Click on Users & Groups.
The user icon will be a silhouette with stars in the background. This means it is a network user. Click on the Password tab at the top.
Click the Change Password ... button to change the password.
Calendars in iCal are much like RSS feeds: users need to subscribe to them, like we discussed in our other posting. Network users will automatically be given a network iCal calendar, and will be automatically subscribed to it. However, if you want to automatically add subscribed calendars to network user's accounts, you will need to use ProfileManager.
On the server, open Server app.
Click on the Profile Manager menu item.
Make sure that iCal service is running (green indicator next to it). Click on the "Include configuration for services: ...". Make sure the iCal icon is listed there.
Click the "Sign configuration profiles" checkbox.
    Turn Profile Manager on.
Once Profile Manager has loaded (the gear at the bottom right will no longer be spinning), go ahead and click the Open Profile Manager link.
Log into Profile Manager as your directory admin user.
Click on the Groups menu item to give all users of a specific group access to the wiki calendar. This is best if you have a wiki for a group and want to share that calendar. Use the Everyone group to add this calendar for all users.
Click on Users to give access to only specific users.
Edit the profile for the group(s) or user(s) you selected by highlighting that group and clicking the edit button.
Scroll down and select the CalDav item on the left.
Click configure. Here you will need to enter the specific details for that callendar based on the subscription details you get when subscribing to the calendar via the wiki.
After all that you still need to configure each client computer to be set up for profile management, which really is a topic of its own. I recommend the following tutorials:
    Installing OS X Lion Server
OS X Lion Server Administration Tool Tour
Setting Up Profile Manager on OS X Lion Server
Using Profile Manager on OS X Lion Server
    Hope this helps, good luck!

  • Password self-service errors -  Password can be changed only once in a day

    Hi experts,
We've been using password resets without issues for several months. Recently we upgraded from version 5.3 SP12 to SP14.
I've read the CUP release note that explains that how password resets now validates against the ABAP system parameter for login/password_change_waittime.
The errors we are experiencing happen even when the users' password is reset for the first time in a day.
    Error message:
X Unable to reset password in the following system(s): ECDCLNT100. Password can be changed only once in a day
Please advise if you have experienced this error, if there is a resolution, and/or if there is a way to disable the parameter check.
FYI - We are only using password resets in our non-production systems and are not concerned with multiple daily password resets.
    Thanks.

    Hello
Are you using PSS with a CUA system?
Then you can try to upgrade the CUA to virsanh sp16.

  • What passwords should be changed after OAS cluster build?

I have completed a cluster installation of Fusion Middleware and AIA 2.2.x. I would like to know what passwords should be changed other than oc4jadmin.

    hi,
First of all changing password of oc4jadmin on cluster is bit tricky. make sure you follow the steps correctly. I assume you know these steps.
It is not advised to use oc4jadmin for normal monitoring, admin and configuration changes task in application server control. you should create following user with corresponding privileges. Please refer to http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28940/tools.htm#BEIDJGID
ascontrol_admin : Assign this role to administrators who need complete administrative privileges and access to the Application Server Control application and pages. You can consider these administrators the "super users" assigned to manage your Oracle Application Server and OC4J environment.
ascontrol_appadmin : Assign this role to administrators who need to manage all deployed applications, except the default and Application Server Control (ascontrol) applications. These administrators can manage the applications you deploy, but they cannot create new administrative users or make global configuration changes.
ascontrol_monitor : Assign this role to administrators who must monitor the Oracle Application Server and OC4J environment, but do not need to make any configuration changes to the applications or the OC4J instance. This role is essentially a read-only role.
Also, you would want to create user for monitoring in BPEL, ESB, AIA console. This user should have following roles:
    AIAUser
    BPMAnalyst
    BPMDefaultDomainAdmin
    Supervisor
    Ascontrol_monitor

  • In system preferences shouldn't the lock icon be unlocked before a password can be changed?

In system preferences should the lock icon be unlocked before a password can be changed?

You have to know the old password in order to change to the new one if you select the user anyway, so no.

  • Login as Root password problem (the changed password isn't working!)

I have enabled root user. I've changed my password for root user a couple of time and I am still not cable to login as root!! (username: root).
Any thoughts and help? thanks a lot! Alon.

    Hello Stephen,
Change of password is not done via configtool. Configtool secure store just stores the current password which is taken by SDM during the deployment.
To change the password of the administrator user, you will need to enable SAP*. Please follow note Note 669848.
    1. open the configtool: C:\usr\sap\<InstenceID>\JC<xx>\j2ee\configtool --> configtool.bat
    ex: C:\usr\sap\J9E\JC09\j2ee\configtool ---> configtool
    2. Activate the "super admin" and enter password(this is your choice) in configtool properties:
    In Config tool: cluster-data>Global Server configuration>services--> com.sap.security.core.ume.service
find below ume properties and change values as i mentioned
    ume.superadmin.activated=TRUE
    ume.superadmin.password= < enter password>
    3. Save the changes in configtool. click on Save button.
    4. Stop the j2ee engine.
    5. Start the j2ee engine.
    6. Now you login to UME with username "SAP*" and password "what you entered in configtool"
    7. After logging into UME Search for user "administrator" then unlock this user; or if you want to change password you can change it.
    8. Goto config tool follow step 1:
    9. Follow step2: and change ume property values as below:
    ume.superadmin.activated=FALSE
ume.superadmin.password= (note: seta as default or blank)
    10. Save the change setting in configtool.
    11. Restart the j2ee engine ( Stop and Start).
    12. Now login to user as "Administrator"; you will succussfully loging into ume;
    Hope this helps.

    Snehal
