Hello everyone,
I have recurring kernel panics after waking my MacBook Pro 13 (late 2010) from sleep. Here is the log:

I have tried the following things:
Uninstalled software that appears first in the log (USB Overdrive, Little Snitch).
Reinstalled the whole operating system with 10.8, updated it to 10.8.2 (no panics) directly after the clean install, then updated to 10.8.3 and had this panics.
Checked the whole hardware with Apple Service Diagnostics (ASD) for my model. No Errors.
Updated to 10.8.4. Same panics.
Installed a 10.8.4 combo update above the 10.8.4 system. Same panics.
Turned off bluetooth. Besides I don't use any bluetooth devices (mouse, keyboard, etc.). Same panics.
So the problem is, that I don't have any panics with 10.8.2 (and lower). Only after updating to 10.8.3 (and higher). The fact, that ASD didn't show me any errors and my system works fine with 10.8.2 I suppose, that this can't be a hardware defect.
I would be very greatful, If somebody could help me!
1:
Your kp log shows
com.usboverdrive.driver.hid 3.0.2
at.obdev.nke.LittleSnitch 3876
are still installed and your OS X version is 10.8.4.
I know you seem to think those softwares are not the cause of the problem because you continued to have kp issues, but it's a bit harder to narrow down the issue when you re-introduce something that also could be causing the problem.
It's not unusual to have more than one piece of software causing what appears to be the same issue, for instance a conflict between two softwares.
2: Reinstalled the whole operating system with 10.8, updated it to 10.8.2 (no panics) directly after the clean install, then updated to 10.8.3 and had this panics.
Well this is certainly a feat.
I was under the impression that only the most updated OS X version was downloaded from Apple, no incremental updates.
Checked the whole hardware with Apple Service Diagnostics (ASD) for my model. No Errors.
Updated to 10.8.4. Same panics.
Installed a 10.8.4 combo update above the 10.8.4 system. Same panics.
Turned off bluetooth. Besides I don't use any bluetooth devices (mouse, keyboard, etc.). Same panics.

I think your source of your problem has more to do with how your doing things and what third party software or hardware your installing and/or using with the machine.
Backup files off the machine and perform the A-1 step here, do not install any other third party software.
Reset your Mac
Also perform the SMC and NVRAM resets, the Hardware Test likley is out of date if it's using the disk, run the extended test overnight to check for RAM issues.
..Step by Step to fix your Mac
The object here is to get the machine as virgin Apple only as possible (no other hardware connecteded) and test from there.
You also might want to check if the cooling fins behind the fans are clogged with dust.

All fine and now kernel panic once a week?
After years of never having seen one, I am getting kernel panics about once a week. They seem to occur when I am online. I am running OS 10.6.8 (yes, I know) and have had no problems. I had been running Norton Antivirus (yes, I now know about that too) without incident for a few years but have now removed it. Otherwise nothing has changed except for whenever the last Apple system update was. I am currently up to date, OS not withstanding.
Below is the log for the last panic if anyone is a kernel whisperer:

I picked up a 1.42ghz eMac recently with 1GB ram. I did a complete erase and fresh install of leopard and updated to 10.5.8. Everything works great, but I get a freeze and often a kernel panic when it wakes from sleep. I don't have the original cd's but did a complete hardware test using tech tool deluxe and a full memory test using memtest. Everything came back with positive results.
I suspected bad memory anyway and thought I would see if taking out either of the 512 ram sticks would resolve the issue. I took the first one out and got a kernel panic on boot, which never happened before. I then put that one back in and took the other one out, and got a kernel panic on boot again. Then I put them both back in, and back to square one: boots up, but kernel panics on wake. Now I am just dumbfounded. Both memory sticks bad? Or... totally unrelated to memory?Well, just an update. I thought I would give the computer time to see how often and specifically when the panic's occur. After setting the computer to never go to sleep (screen goes dark, but computer stays active), I have had no kernel panics. I suppose I could just leave it this way, although it would be nice to let the computer sleep. Here was the last kernel panic:

Well, my iPad has kernel panics about everyday, when I get on facebook mostly. Basically, any app I get on it will either: freeze and flicker into a black home screen, or it will have a kernel panic and turn off. I am also having problems with it charging. When the iPad is on, it charges just fine. But when it dies and I plug the charger in, it doesn't recognize that it is charging. But, when I take the charger out, it thinks it is charging.
Here's one of the plists:

Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this. -
How can I repair or delete time machine to try and prevent kernel panics ?
I am trying to repair or delete my time machine image that is backed up on time capsule in the hopes of stopping kernel panics. When I open disc utility it does not show my time capsule so I can't repair it. How may I get it to show? ( It shows up on my finder.) If this can’t be done how may I delete my time machine backup and start all over again as I am concerned it is corrupted? However, I do not want to delete my wife"s back up from a different Mac on the same time capsule. Thank you.
There could be other things causing your kernel panics but I'll try to assist you in deleting your backup files. In Finder, look for a sparsebundle file. The file name starts with your computer name followed by a character string, ex. yourcomputername_00198787ed97.sparsebundle. You can delete that and create a backup again.

Updated to Tiger and get kernel panics
Hi,
I updated my desktop G4 (quicksilver) to Tiger last week, and have suddenly started getting kernel panics. I am not sure what to do about it, other than trying to reinstall Tiger. It didn't happen the first few days of Tiger, so I am not sure it's the OS. Do I need to be worried about my drive? could i lose information with this?
I do have one bad hard drive inside the machine which crashed in November; I haven't removed it yet. Would removing that bad drive correct the issue? There is a 2nd drive in the machine that is fine and an external firewire drive that is now my main book drive.
Or could the panic be the result of peripherals, such as sound cards, MIDI gear, printer? or something like software? I use a lot of 3rd party software and have updated quite a few of them in the past week, since updating to Tiger. I did call Apple Care and they suggested removing all external devices and apps...way too much if I don't need to do it.
Help?
Thanks
Kat
G4 powermac Mac OS X (10.4.8) also have macbook intel - 10.4.8Wow -
What an incredible answer. I am posting the panic log here, but I remembered that I recently just plugged in my MIDI yamaha clavinova to my sound card, and that's when the panics began. Could be a coincidence, but I unplugged it to see if they stop.
I will also remove the bad drive. It crashed in November. Disk first aid was unable to repair it and the genius at the apple store told me that something physically broke inside the drive, so there is no salvation for it. I was able to recover most data before it all disappeared, luckily. I just haven't gotten around to removing it and reinstalling the original apple drive.

Help: successfully upgraded to 10.5, logged in and a kernel panic repeats
After successful upgrade to Leopard on my new iMac, I upgraded the iBook today. Successfully, I followed the prompts from Tiger 10.4.11, took about 1hr 10min. My iBook rebooted and then after about 20 rounds of spinning sticks, the login screen appeared. I logged in and spinning beach ball came up. A few moments later, the smoky window with white text and a power button behind it showed up telling me that iBook needs to be restarted. So I did, but that window is coming up every time I restart it and log in. Now what? From what I read this is a kernel panic and it happens after I log into the new leopard account. Does anyone know how to fix this? In many, many years of owning Macs, this is the first one of these where it panics. The good thing is, all my data is time machined on iMac, but still upgrading to Leopard was supposed to be a smooth experience, as shown in the Leopard video.

Software that fix and locate kernel panics
Hi everyone,
Is there any program or utility out there in the market that can state out what is or are causing kernel panics and be able to fix it if kernel panics are not caused by any kind of hardware failure(such as my computer)
Thank you,
podHi, thank you for the replies. Let me tell you what I had done so far for this kernel panic thing. I called applecare and follow all the instructions that they gave, such as reset those things that need to be reset. And I had passed all the hardware test(extanded hardware test) and I can say that all hardwares all working fine. And I had updated the OSX to 10.4.8. Also I dont' see any of my applications that are causing this kernel panic because the kernel panics happen randomly and even though I didn't even use any of my applications sometimes, it still occurs. Now, I will try to posted the most recent crash log and see if anyone can address the problem for me. Thank you.

Strange pink squares while booting and then kernel panic
Hello everybody.
This is my boot screen. It began 2 days ago when I tried to update Mac OS to version 10.6.8 v 1.1. When I start my MBP after 2 minutes it hangs. If I try to boot again the history repeats. When I boot from SnowLeo DVD (version 10.6.3) after 3-4 minutes of waiting (spinning wheel spins) I receive kernel panic message. After it I try to boot again and everything works. I tried to repair my HDD with Disk Utility (seems like it was needed to be repaired) but problem still present. I afraid to switch off my Mac. Any suggestions what could it be?
P.S. Sorry for my bad english, I was too lazy to learn it well.Boot sequence kernel panics before the appearance of the login screen or desktop are almost always hardware related, unless a specific driver was installed or specific hardware was connected which wasn't before. That it is coupled with a graphics display issue that often is chip related, says it is hardware related, since the only thing that controls the graphics on the boot screen is the graphics chip itself.

Installed 10.6.7 and Getting Kernel Panic on Boot
I got the notice to update to 10.6.7 on my 15" 2.66 i7 and when it restarted to install the update, I immediately got a kernel panic. I was able to get it to boot into safe mode and I did a time machine backup. After some research and work..
I ran a 35 pass zero out, and then straight reinstalled OS-X from my discs. I still get the same panic from boot.

Help...
The only thing left that I can think of is that the update fubarred the HDD. I put an aftermarket 640GB drive into it about 3 months ago. I was considering re-installing the factory drive and see what happens. I have tried everything that I could within the OSX restore discs, and nothing seems to help. It seems weird that a 35 pass + restore didn't cure it, if it was software related. Which makes me think firmware/mechanical.
Thoughts?I think you missed the part where I said:
"I ran a 35 pass zero out, and then straight reinstalled OS-X from my discs. I still get the same panic from boot."
I still had issues after a fresh install. So, I did a 35 pass zero out and re-installed. Same error.
I just finished installing the factory drive, and mysteriously everything works fine now. Either the update corrupted the aftermarket drive, or the update causes the computer to recognize my aftermarket drive and make it "not work". Either way, I am just going to leave the factory drive in it, as I am selling the laptop and getting a newer version. -
Lion and Parallels - kernel panics
I am currently on Lion 10.7.2 and Parallels 7 (latest build). Within Parallels I am running Windows 7 SP1 64 bit. This is a brand new MacBook Pro 2011 with i7 processor and I upgraded to 8gigs of RAM. This was a fresh build of Windows 7. Computer shipped with Lion (not an upgrade).
I am having the following symptoms:
Windows random reboot (sometimes bluescreen - no details in error log)
Mac random reboot - will be working and suddenly everything freezes and I am at the LogIn screen.
Kernel panics (panics are not consistently related to one process - sometimes it is parallels, sometimes it is a mac process)
Following consistencies:
Parallels is open and booted to Windows 7
I am using some sort of graphics based app (could be a video conferencing app or a video game) - does not matter if I am using it on the Windows side or the Mac side
NOTE: I can consistently produce a kernel panic by starting to transcode a video with Handbrake and then playing video game on Windows side. However, this is not the only time it panics. Panics come intermittently in different situations but always when I am using some kind of graphics.
Troubleshooting done so far:
I have totally uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels.
I have disabled automatic graphics switching.
I have run memtest to check RAM - seemed fine (passed all tests).
I have tried to run Hardware Diagnostic but cannot get it to run. Will not run with option D. Copied .diagnostics from disk. Option D would try to run it but would shut down computer.
I have changed graphics settings on Parallels.
I have spent two weeks going back and forth with Parallels support. They think it is Mac based but I cannot ever force a kernel panic and have never seen a panic when Parallels is not running.
Apple has suggested taking it to store for hardware test (I am 70 miles away so this is not that easy).
Looking for any suggestions at this point..I have seen several others having kernel panic issues with Lion. Has anyone found a solution?ACTUALLY, I read the Parallels manual TWICE, looking for the missing step. It wasn't anywhere in the documentation provided with the software CD. You have to go digging through the online help functions to find it.
As for 'works perfectly', it's doing OK with everything but OpenGL functions so far. They are still working on getting those fixed. -
10.4.7 and airport kernel panic - solved?
hi.
has 10.4.7 solved the airport kernel panic? i am one of the 'lucky' wk 20 macbook pro owners. i have installed the update and am not in a wireless area so cant comment but am wondering what other people have experienced.
did get a different kernel panic and am starting a separate post.
thxShe had Tiger running fine until this happened last night, so that's not really the issue. It's how to restore everything as after the archive and install, she can't open iPhoto for instance. Will she have to just reinstall Tiger or can she drag the previous systems folder contents to the relevant places and it'll all be back as before? Will the problem she encountered after the update also have a chance of being there again as it was in the previous system that crashed?

[SOLVED] Linux 3.10.6 and brcmsmac: kernel panic
Hi!
I'm using latest linux kernel 3.10.6, on my laptop. I have a broadcom wifi card.
Cutting long story short, as soon as I start *anything* that uses my connection (opening chromium or issuing a "pacman -Syu"), i have a kernel panic.
The camera shot is not very good, but here it is: http://postimg.org/image/633skv3jx/full/ . As you can read last lines talk about brcmsmac.
Never had this kind of problem before upgrading to 3.10.6.
Any hint?
Thank you very much.

IMac Mid 2010 kernel panic after wake up from sleep mode
Hello.
One month ago starting my iMac Mid 2010 occasionally goes to kernel panic. When I click on mouse or press any key, system starting up, but very very slowly, (time on logon screen stay same without refresh) and after few minutes (from 1 - 10 minutes) kernel panic message is appear on screen. I have Mac OS 10.7.5 version installed.
Is there any tool to debug what is wrong. Windows OS has WinDebuger to detaily look inside to core dump and analyze it and in my experience almost allways is possible to detect root of problem.
First of all i was try HW diagnostic from DVD, succesfully passed. Then I run Permission Repair procedure, there were many folders and files with different ACL as system expected.
It is possible that graphic card driver is wrong or has bug from my point of laic view.
I have minimum application with kext installed into system:
VMware fusion
NTFS-3g ( long time same version )
There is part of long kernel panic message:
