1099 report - excluding material invoices

Hi All
My client wants to exclude all material invoices when reporting 1099 for vendors.  How do we do this?
But the configuration in our client is 'Define withholding tax for payment posting'.  Hence, I am not able to filter by document types in RFIDYYWT report.  If I have to change the settings to 'Define withholding tax for invoice posting', is this the only option?
Any input appreciated.
Thanks
Regards
Morgan

We resolved this by 'Zeroing' out the tax amount in MIRO screen using user exit in the standard BAPI that posts the MIRO for us.

  • Duplicate invoices in 1099 report

    Hello All
When I run the S_P00_07000134 - Generic Withholding Tax Reporting  report I am seeing invoices show up twice for a vendor. This vendor had its tax region code changed from IL to NY and now I see the amounts showing up once under IL and again under NY which is making my total double.
Did anyone face this issue? How do I fix it? I already ran the correction program

    Hi,
Vendor address and withholding tax code should be maintained as per the nature of the vendor. 1099 Vendors will be classified based on Vendor Master containing fields (Tax Number 1 or 2 and Withholding Tax Code). In US a taxpayer identification number (TIN) uniquely identifies recipients whose income is connected with a trade or business. In this context please note that if the business does not know the TIN of the vendor then they can request it from the IRS (internal Revenue Services which is a regulatory body ) using form W-9, Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification. With this form, the vendor also certifies to the company that the number furnished is correct. The taxpayer identification number is a social security number (SSN) and is filled up in Tax number 1 field of Account control screen of vendor master if the vendor concerned is an individual, and an employer identification number (EIN) for corporate in all other cases and is filled up in Tax number 2 field of account control screen of vendor master.
Now the question remains which all vendors actually qualify under 1099 category? Generally that would be a vendor of goods and /or services that is not incorporated (such as a landlord, independent contractor) to whom your business has made payments greater than $600 (total, for the applicable tax year). In addition, gross proceeds to attorneys and cash payments for fish and fishing boat proceeds and some other specified categories of payments are reportable. If your vendor is a 1099 vendor you have to issue them (and report to the IRS) a separate 1099 slip. It applies primarily to vendors who provide "services" and excludes corporations, unless the service provided is for medical or health care services or attorneys fees. Vendors who are service providers and are not incorporated should therefore indicate that they are 1099 vendors and provide the requested information. The sole purpose of this 1099 reporting is to ensure that the IRS gets income information from an independent contractor and they do not evade paying taxes. The IRS is apparently tracking certain business transactions as well, such as gross attorney proceeds and payments for fish and fishing boat proceeds.

  • Travel item vs 1099 Reporting

    Dear All,
At one of our US client's company we have a paid AP Invoice with a normal item along with an item set up as 'travel', does someone know how would we exclude it from the 1099 Report as the receipted travel costs should not be subject to 1099 Reporting?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Nat

    Hi Suda,
Yes, they are Sales Items with Item Type 'Items'.
Generally we use them to handle travel expenses for contractors along with other expenses on the AP Invoices but somehow we should differentiate these 'travel' items from the other items to exlude them from the 1099 Report.
I think Marcia is right, we can edit it in the '1099 Editing' but it is a manual solution and would take a lot of time.
    Thanks,
    Nat

    Hi
Yes. Standard reports will not give you inputs.
It's not easy to link material documents with invoice either.
If you are using GR based invoice verification, then fine.
Did you check MR11 ? However, you have to be careful not to do any postings here.
    This will have PO, material document etc. But DC no--no;
Copy this report, remove posting related code and add code to get DC no etc from MKPF for the given material document.
    Best regards

  • Urgent !!!!!!! 1099 reporting

    Hello Experts,
I am having a problem in 1099 Vendor reporting using the program "RFKQSU20". I was trying to get the list of taxable and non-taxable 1099 amounts by vendor. I was getting a report which has no data in that, even though I posted a vendor invoice (FB60) for a 1099 vendor with the full invoice amount as "W.tax base" and did the vendor payment.
Any Help in this regard is duly rewarded and appreciated.
    Regards,

    Hi Sriram
You need to maintain the Country code in vendor master.
Also recipient type is not required for 1099 reporting. It is required for 1042 reporting
Reg other point, TIN is a tax identification number. It can be SSN (Social Security Number) or EIN (Employer Identification number). This is required for IRS.
Amounts range from $10 to $600 in a financial year depending on the nature of services. Mostly it is $600.
    Hope they are useful

  • How to exempt vendor from 1099 reporting

    Hi All,
On the vendor master, Accounting information tab, we have fields "Exemption number,Valid until and exemption authority" with respect to withholding tax. As per my understanding if we enter these fields, then that particular vendor should not be considered for 1099. However these fields are not having any impact on my 1099 reports. I am running standard report S_ALR_87012143 for validation. Can anyone guide me the relevance of these fields and how to use them correctly in business scenario? Also let me know how to exempt a vendor from 1099 reporting.

Hi - The exemtion number is entered so that the system does not withhold tax amount (eg: 30% or so) when the payment is made. I think the vendor will still appear on the 1099 report. You can use a different Withholding Tax type for these vendors and exclude the WT type when you run the 1099s.

  • 1099 Reporting doubts

    Hi all,
I am doing 1099 coniguration for an US Company. I have the following doubts. Pl help me with your inputs.
    1. What is to be taken as reporting base for 1099 - Invoice or payment (withholding tax type for invoice posting or payment posting)
    2. How will the Vendor who gives tax exemption certificate be reflected in the Report.
    Thanks
    Sri.

    Hi,
To flag a vendor in SAP as a 1099 vendor, two fields need to be populated.
    1. On the Control screen of the vendor master, populate either "Tax Code 1" field with his social security number if his social security number is his tax id. or "Tax Code 2" field with his corporate tax id. if he has been issued a corporate tax id. Input either of the two in their correct format i.e. social security as xxx-xx-xxxx or corporate id as xx-xxxxxxx.
    2. On the Accounting Info. screen, populate the "W.tax code" field under the "Withholding Tax" box with the value "07" if it is a US vendor or "42" if it is a foreign vendor.
These are the two fields that specify a vendor as being a 1099 vendor.
Any posts done before this changes were implemented will not show on 1099.
You will need to run program RFWT0020 to flag 1099 items retroactively.
...and/or you can change the "Document Change rules" for BSEG-QSSHB and BESG-QSSKZ for account type "K" so that you can change the Withholding tax code after the line item has been cleared (i.e. after entering the required information in the vendor master record as the user above has recommended) (Refer to OSS Note: 363650).
But if you use MIRO to post invoices, you might want to look at Note 482245 too...
In SAP v40b, the new 1099 report is RFW1099M. It is a neat report since it merges all the three reports that are listed in the AP info system under the withholding tax.

  • Specifications for the report regarding the invoiced quantity.

    Hi all SAP gurus,
I want to give specifications to the abaper regarding the layout of a report. The details are sales order, materials in it, order quantity, invoiced qty, balance qty and stock against the balance qty.
I want to know the table & field name  where the qty is getting updated. Suppose order qty is 20, today i invoice 5 qty. The balance is 15. When i run the report, in the invoiced qty column the system should show 5. Tomorrow i invoice 10 qty, the balance will be 5. When i run the report again, in the invoiced qty column, the system should show 15.
Where is the data stored regarding the updated qty which is already invoiced.
The scenario is MTS. Is it possible to show the exact available qty in the balance qty. column some material may be confirmed for other sales order also.
    Regards,
    Allabaqsh G. Patil

    Hi
Need to understand couple of more things before i tell you the fields as are you considering report Based ON invoice or delivery as you are saying that order quantity is 20 and invoice is 5 , ( do you mean to say delivered quantity is 5)
secondly since this report is for stock are you taking into the account of all the pending orders not yet delivered , partially deliverd.
Hope  you understand this as this report could change every minute the order is delivered
And as per my knowledge there is no such table which can give  you that information , you need to write a logic which will consider the open orders, partially delivery , and stuff into .....hope i am in Sync with what you are asking
    Cheers

  • RFIDYYWT / 1099 reporting / include doc type AB?

We are preparing to use SAP's 1099 Misc reporting functionality for the 2011 tax year, and have managed to resolve most issues. However, we can't figure out how to get miscellaneous journal entries (doc type AB) included in the reporting. I've confirmed that the line items in BSEG have the appropriate withholding tax code (07), but when I run RFIDYYWT, the 'AB' documents aren't being included.
Can/should AB documents be included in 1099 reporting? And if so, what do we need to do to ensure that they get pulled in?
    Thanks in advance!
    Allison

    Hello Allison,
Please review the following documentation on the field reporting period.
    Field ; Reporting period
    Posting date in the document
Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting
    or Controlling.
    Use
The fiscal year and the period for which an update of the accounts
specified in the document or cost elements is made, are derived
    from the posting date.
When entering documents, the system checks whether the posting date
entered is allowed by means of the posting period permitted.
    Note
The posting date can differ from both the entry date (day of entry
into the system) and the document date
(day of creation of the original document).
The selection criterion in RFIDYYWT is the posting date
(not the clearing date). This is entered in the 'reporting period' field.
    Consider the following example:
-invoice document posted in 2004 -payment document posted in 2005
    1. if you select period 20010, only the invoice will be reported
    2. if you select period 2011, only the payment will be reported
This may cause confusio if the calculation of the w/h tax does not occur
within the posting period selected (the calculation of w/h tax depends
on your settings: it could be w/h tax at time of invoice or at time of
    payment).
Please, understand that mainly based on the selection criteria and
the output defined the document will be selected or not.
Currently, documents are getting selected based on the reporting date.
The reporting date is the posting date in the document, that means, the
date which is used when entering the document in financial accounting
and the withholding tax amount is posted.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards
    RAY

  • 1099 reporting in ECC 6

We recently upgraded from ECC 5 to ECC6.  I've noticed that there are some minor changes to the 1099 reporting program (RFIDYYWT).  I've looked for some documentation explaining the differences but have not had any luck.  Does anyone know where there is some good material for ECC 6?
The only field I noticed in ECC 6 that is not in ECC 5 is under "Output Control".  There is a new button for "Reporting Date".  What does that mean?
    Monique Stephens

Did you search http://help.sap.com? I get a detailed explanation there what this report does....
I would also search http://service.sap.com/notes with the report name or use component "FI-AP-AP-Q1" or "XX-SCS-<country-ISO-code" to search for country specific extensions.
Can´t give you any advises here - tax reporting is country specific.
You can also check the releasenotes for FI at httP://service.sap.com/releasenotes

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Sarath,
1099 Report is filed by the companies in US about the withholding tax amount payables by their vendors.  Here, most of the companies are not deducting the withholding tax at the time of payment. They report the withholding tax to be paid by the vendors to IRS in specified format which is known as 1099 reporting.  IRS also releases the 1099 form format every year which the company sends to the Vendor (Similar to TDS certificate in India).
For more details on 1099, go to following links of IRS.

Customer,InvoiceNo:,Invoiced Quanty,Material,Invoiced Value of specfic plant of some defined dates.
Please suggest in SAP Standard reports or any BIW reports or any other related report which will solve the problem.

    Hi Chakri,
There is no st report available as per your req.
Using SQVI, you develope one report that is list of sales orders based on your req.
SQVI is used to convert a Quick View into a query.
    Quick Viewer:
The Quick Viewer allows you to define reports without having to program yourself. The Quick
Viewer is especially useful for new users and occasional use.
Quick Viewer is a tool for generating reports. SAP Query offers the user a whole range of options for defining reports. SAP Query also supports different kinds of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists. Quick Viewer, on the other hand, is a tool that allows even relatively inexperienced users to create basic lists.
Quick View definitions are user-dependent. You can transfer a Quick View into SAP Query in order to make reports, for example, accessible to additional users, or to use the other functions available in SAP Query.
The following is a comparison of Quick Views and queries:
Quick Views possess the same functional attributes as queries. However, only basic lists may be defined with Quick Views.
In contrast to queries, no user group assignment is necessary with Quick Views. Each user has his/her own personal list of Quick Views. Quick Views cannot be exchanged between users. Quick Views may, however, be converted to queries and then be made available to other users in a specific user group.
Info Sets are not required for Quick View definition. Whenever you define a Quick View, you can specify its data source explicitly. Tables, database views, table joins, logical databases, and even Info Sets, can all serve as data sources for a Quick View. You can only use additional tables and additional fields if you use an Info Set as a data source.
The Quick Viewer uses various controls. Certain hardware and software requirements must also be fulfilled before you can use the Quick Viewer.
To define a Quick View, you select certain fields according to your data source that determine the structure of your report. The report can be executed in basis mode with standard layout or may be edited using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available in WYSIWYG mode.
Reports created using the Quick Viewer may also be passed to external programs (Excel, for example).
Call the Quick Viewer using System -> Services -> Quick Viewer (or transaction SQVI).
Enter the name of the Quick View. Quick View names can contain a maximum of 14 characters.
    Choose Create.
Enter a title for the Quick View and remarks, if you think they are relevant.
If you do not want to base your list on a table, use the possible entries pushbutton in the Data source field to select another data source. You can choose logical databases or Info Sets. In addition, you may also create table joins. For further information, see Selecting a Data Source.
Choose Basis mode if you want to create the list directly with no list design. Choose Layout mode if you want to define the layout of your list yourself.
SQVI Table Quick viewer – Used to created quick client dependent reports
Probably the easiest and most flexible way to do this is thru one of the ABAP query transactions.
Transaction SQVI can do this and it has a very good help function that explains how it works... the drawback is that it is only for one user.
You can play around with it and see if it meets your needs...
The query results will come back in an ALV Grid or Excel... you can select what fields are returned, and have a selection screen to enter the search criteria.
You can get the report by joining the tables VBAK and VBAP.
If you have any queries, i will forward screen shots to your id.
    Reward points pls.
    Regards,
    Govind.
