10g1 Enterprise Manager Error when configuring backup settings.

When I try to configure the backup settings and I enter the OS admin user and pwd I get:
Error: Connecting to host as user *****failed: Wrong password for user.
I know I am inputting the correct pwd.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks

Just in case as it's a confusing screen - the host settings are the operating system user, not a DB user.

Can anyone suggest what's causing this error and how to resolve it?

I've since discovered the immediate cause of this problem - it was because I was logged in as SYSOPER rather than as SYSDBA. Once I logged back in as SYSDBA, the crash disappeared and the settings were saved successfully.
It'd be nice if the EM trapped this and gave a proper error message rather than crashing within Java, though.

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager Error(s)

I recently installed Oracle 11g on my computer and am playing around with it and have come across two errors that i see are pretty common but i cant wrap my head around whats going on.
    Scenario 1:
I start up my computer, no services are running (OracleDBConsoleorcl, OracleTNSListener & OracleServiceORCL) are all not on.
I go into control panel->Services and turn on OracleDBConsoleorcl so i can log into enterprise manager.
When I enter enterprise manager I see that i can start up the listener or database instance.
I start up the listener (no problems) but when i try to turn on the instance I then get the error
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
    descriptor
When i go back to the control panel and services and start up OracleServiceORCL then everything works as expected.
Why am i not able to start up the oracle instance via the enterprise manager?
    Thanks....

EM can only connect to the DB via SQL*Net.
When the DB is down the listener does not know anything about the DB.
When EM tries to connect to the DB the listener reports it does not know how to complete the connection request

  • 'No such host is known' error when configuring Reporting database

    Hi,
We are joining two report server databases using reporting services config manager. The problem is when we are trying to connect database on another machine we are receiving following error at step 'generating Rights script'

As per step mentioned in following link,
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sameersurve/archive/2009/06/15/no-such-host-is-known-error-when-configuring-ssrs-2008.aspx
We tried opening port 1434 for the Reportserver db machine. but it didnt worked for me.
Following are points i feel could be the reason of failure,
    1. The two machine we are working on are in different domains.
    2. The Product version of the two reporting servers are different.
Have anyone experienced this if yes any solution that i can try?

    Hi Shrikant_k,
If we are using a remote database server for the report server database, we should refer to the following tips:
Enable remote connections. And we should also open your firewall software and open the port that SQL Server listens on. For the default instance, this is typically port 1433 for TCP/IP connections. To verify that the instance accepts remote connections,
please refer to the following article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157300(v=sql.105).aspx
When you enable remote connections, the client and server protocols will also be enabled. To verify the protocols are enabled, please see:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191294(v=sql.105).aspx
When the database server is in a different domain or we are using workgroup security, we must configure the connection to use a SQL Server database login. In this way, we must update the report server database connection every time we change the password
    or the account.
When creating a report server database, be aware that not all editions of SQL Server can be used to host the database. The following document is for your reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157285(v=sql.105).aspx
    Reference:
Configuring a Report Server Database Connection
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Though you haven't said the bit version of the Windows and I assuming you are on a 64 bit...
Have you followed the instructions / prerequisites while performing an install.
Please refer to the below Heading in the Enterprise ReadMe.
To install this release in a Windows 2008 Server 64-bit environment:
    Read Me URL:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12379_01/doc/ent.650/ent_6511000_readme.pdf
If not, uninstall everything and start from the scratch as per the instructions. Make sure you run the command.
    Hope this helps,

  • Device manager error when trying to load applications

I've been using the Desktop Manager successfully for several years with my old 8703e.  I finally upgraded to a Style 9670, and updated the Desktop Manager to v6.0.2.44.  It syncs fine with the phone.  However, when I go to work with apps, the DM tells me "The Application Loader Wizard requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed.  Please contact customer support."  I have rebooted, repaired, and done a full uninstall and reinstall of the DM, but the same error keeps coming up.  I have worked on this all night, and am wondering if I need to return teh phone and opt for an Android.  Can anyone help me, please?

    Hmmm...maybe a totally clean start over? Here's a process:
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
Further, it has also been reported that when your user profile on windows (type 'echo %userprofile%' in the command prompt) contains spaces, then the installer will not work. In order to solve this issue, log out of your Windows account and log back in using the local Administrator account (or any other account name without spaces) and install the desktop (for all users).
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM Desktop Software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
Some have reported that there are more registry keys to remove than are discussed in that KB...be sure to search your registry for any related to RIM
Others have reported the use of a registry cleansing tool to also be helpful
Still others have reported the use of your original PIM (e.g., Outlook, NOTES, etc.) installation CD, running the "repair" process, to be helpful in some situations
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM Desktop Software:
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install the Desktop Software to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
KB23681How to configure organizer data synchronization settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Error when configuring WF

    Hello,
I'm getting an error when I do the post deployment configuration for workflow. I am using version 7.0.1, but this problem also existed in version 7.0.
I am attempting to enable integration between WorkFlow and Form Manager. These are the steps that I am taking.
    1) Log into the adminui console.
    2) Select Services
    3) Select Adobe LiveCycle Form Manager
    4) Select Configuration settings
    5) Under general settings, I selected the checkbox on this line "Adobe LiveCycle Form to display Adobe LiveCycle Workflow worklists.
    6) Click the save button on the top right of the page.
When the next page loads, I get a system error that says "The request could not be processed. Please retry the operation. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator". When I go back to the general setting section, the checkbox is not selected.
Are there any known workarounds for this issue? How else can I get FM to display WF worklists?

    Thanks for responding Howard.
The answer to the first two questions is both yes.

  • Re: Error when configuring Data Masking with workload masking in 12c

    Hello,
Even I am facing a similar issue - error message displayed when trying for data-masking along with R.A.T. capabilities
    Can anybody help resolve this.
Objective - Use Real Application Testing in combination with Test Data Masking Pack
    Current Setup
I have a VM Box with Windows 2008 R2 Server OS Image
Enterprise Manager 12c and Oracle 11g Database Instance Installed and configured on the same host.
Have added one more Oracle Database Instance 11g Database instance into the Target Databases.
while doing data masking, when i select the checkbox Ensure Workload Masking Compatibility i always get the error:
"Workload masking is not supported by the target database chosen. You may need to apply a patch or move to a newer version of the database for workload masking."
Can you please guide as to which patches / configurations need to added. I believe the Patches and Provisioning Wizard within EM will help on installing the requiredd patches.
But I am not aware of which patch it is referring to.
highly appreciate your help n guidance in this regards.

Gosh! at last i found the solution!!
I appreciate those who tried to help and i''m sharing the solution as i believe this is the purpose of SDN Forum and help others Netweaver Chap who facing the same problem:
    Problem faced:
Extractor failed intermittently for WORKLOAD ANALYSIS (Introscope Data) due to error message "Error when opening an RFC connection"
Due to the above error, performance data is not available in RCA workload analysis for J2EE engine.
    Possible Solution:
    1) Ensure both webadmin & SOLMANDIAG RFC working fine -> SM59 -> TCP/IP
    2) go to SE16 -> E2E_RESOURCES and change the resourcecap to 10 for SOLMANDIAG
    3) go to /smd/services -> Diagnostic System -> Advanced Setup -> Abap connectivity -> Connection Configuration and change server count to 10
    4) Restart webadmin (step 3 & 4 can perform in VA too)
    5) set gw/keepalive &  gw/reg_keepalive to value 0 in RZ11 (without reboot of instance)
    5) again go to SM59 -> TCP/IP -> SOLMANDIAG and put in the gateway host and gateway service correctly, don't leave this empty!!!! -
    > This is the main solution to solve intermittent failed RFC for extractor.
Now, go back and monitor the extractor log and you should see no RFC error anymore and wait for 1 hour for the data to populate.
    Thanks!

  • Solution Manager - Error when executing Job SM:EXEC SERVICES

    Hi,
I am trying to get the data from the earlywatch alert report and when i start the job SM:EXEC SERVICES.
The jobs starts but i get an error during is execucion:
    Runtime errors         SYNTAX_ERROR
           Occurred on     17.01.2008 at   14:06:28
Syntax error in program "RDSVASAEW_DBMSS____________052 ".
    What happened?
The following syntax error occurred in the program
    RDSVASAEW_DBMSS____________052 :
    "INCLUDE report "/1CAGTF/IF_LOGFUNC_000208" not found."
    Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLDSVAS_PROC" had to be terminated because one of
    the
    statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
I tried to generate all the function modules and i get this error:
    Logical function:  MSQ_TEMPDB_DOWNLOAD            :
Error      1  during generation of  /1CAGTF/IF_LOGFUNC_000208
    Syntax error.
Can you help me on this error?
    Best regards,
    Nuno Silva

    Hi Pedro,
I insert my answer from a similar thread.
As a pitty, that's a well known error.
    Please check [SAP Note 727998|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/727998]
Basically, these three steps needs to be performed:
    1) BDL_DELETE_ALL_TABLES
    2) SDCCN - Refresh Service Definitions
    3) Generate Logfuncs
    SE37: /BDL/_GENERATE_LOGFUNCINCLUDES
    OPTION: ALL
It's also described in the Implementation Guide (IMG), transaction SPRO in the SAP Solution Manager system:
SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Basic Settings -> Standard Configuration of Basic Settings -> Solution Manager -> Service Data Control Center
-> Activate the Service Data Control Center in the Solution Manager
-> Generate Includes for Service Data Contol Center
With the next ST-PI Support Package. The steps can be triggered via the menu of transaction SDCCN.
    Best regards,
    Ruediger Stoecker

  • Enterprise Manager:  Error in table "View Data" for table with 128 column

We appear to be getting an error when running Oracle Enterprise Manager when doing a "View Data" and selecting > 128 columns to display.
    Here's the error message.
Could you let me know if this is a known issue, and any workaround/fixes for it?
    Thanks!

Not many people run into this but one has before: Too many columns to be shown in the Enterprise Manager 11g?
I can not find a known bug related to EM/CC, however a lot of bugs exist if you search in MOS for java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 128
So, best is to create a SR.

  • Oracle 10g Enterprise manager  Solaris 9 (Rman backups)

    Hi Guys,
I changed the OS and oracle user's password on my database server and OS user on the backup server and since then my rman backups don''t run. What could be the reason because when I click on the Disk Test Backup it says I must supply the Host Credentials
To save the backup settings, supply operating system login credentials to access the target database. and when I do that I get an error
The specified host user is not a member of the operating system DBA group. The host user must be a DBA group member since the database user does not have the SYSDBA role.

    Hi,
The specified host user is not a member of the operating system DBA group. The host user must be a DBA group member since the database user does not have the SYSDBA role.Assign DBA group to the newly created oracle user.
    This should work
