11.1.1.6 Column drag problem

I did a new install of 11.1.1.6 (had some problems with the 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.6 upgrade) on Solaris. Then I converted the repository and catalog from 10.1.3. On existing reports when you drag a new column in the criteria pane, it does not show up. However if you go to the results tab and back to criteria tab you will see it. It will sometimes give you an error in the results tab.
Has anyone seen behavior like this. This is not the excluded column not showing which the behavior changed from 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.6.
As well... Is there anyway to turn off the dialog which asks you if you want to leave the page.... Very annoying.

Yes I did, but do not seem to find this to be an issue, what it looks to me is that unless you have Financial Close Management module with HFM, you would not be able to register HFM server to the app server, hence it would not create a JDBC conenction info for the HFM database, causing the issue. I was looking at the database table, which had the error.
How were you guys able to resolve it, do you have HFM on same server as SS or do you guys use same database for SS and HFM ?

Photoshop CC2014 and Windows 8 - click "drag" problem

So, I have recently started using the latest version of Photoshop CC2014 under windows 8.1 and I'm having this weird problem.
I'm using a Cintiq 24HD touch with latest drivers, and touch disabled. I have also disable any kind of click and hold windows has - for tablets and for touch input.

Still, when I try to make fine adjustments on sliders, I click and the slider simply does not move. This does not happen every click, but it happens often enough to be annoying as hell. It is happening everywhere, from panels to liquify window, to using the hand tool to navigate the image, and not only in sliders! Trying to make fine adjustments in liquify with your brushstroke jumping around is not fun.
I'm not sure what and where the problem is, but this simply does not happen in any other application (Photoshop CC; Sketchbook Pro, Paintstorm Studio, Krita).
Does anyone have any idea?

I have been using Photoshop on windows for more then 20 years on windows. Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 7. I never installed Windows ME, Windows Vista or Windows 8. I have never seen any version of Photoshop change a displays brightness or even the image color when scaling or going from float to tab to single image with PS UI to full screen. However I hardly ever use Photoshop in full screen mode.
At different zoom views image may seem like the color change because of the scale of the image or the portion of the image that is on screen or the color of the border around the image.

Database column alias problem

When joining the firstname and surname fields in my inital SQL query of my interactive report i.e
INITCAP(INDSNAME)||' '||INITCAP(INDFNAME) AS FULLNAME,
When clicking through to the record detail page I am getting the following error from the page item where in the source I am specifying FULLNAME under Source value or expression
Column FULLNAME not found in table MYTABLENAME
How can I get around this?

In my IA report under column attributes there is one called FULLNAME which is derived from INITCAP(INDSNAME)||' '||INITCAP(INDFNAME) AS FULLNAME,
So how can I get the data displayed in the FULLNAME column in the IA report into a single record view. At the moment my IA report the Link Column is currently linked to a 'Link to custom target'
the target is a 'Page in this Application' in this case page 9
and in Item1 under Name the value is P9_ROWID and the value is #ROWID#

Disable JTable Column dragging?

How do you disallow the user from moving the order of your columns in a JTable? They are able to select data within the column, but I don't want them to change the order of the columns (drag and drop the columns). Thanks for any help/suggestions in advance. --Dean

AIR application object - mouse drag problem

We face the following problem. Attached herewith are code sample and simulation for the problem. Would be great if someone could help us.
Problem: Objects created in AIR application experience mouse drag problem.
To simulate the problem please execute the sample application, a grey box (object) appears on the screen. Hold down left and right mouse buttons and drag the object and release both the mouse buttons. Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged.
Steps to Reproduce - Hold down left and right mouse buttons and drag the object and later release both the mouse buttons. Notice Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged. Object stops to move along with mouse pointer after sometime, then move the mouse pointer to the object and see that it sticks to pointer again and gets dragged along with the pointer.
Actual Result - Object sticks to mouse pointer and moves along with mouse pointer to wherever it is dragged.
Expected Result - Object should not stick to mouse pointer even after the mouse buttons are released.

Implicit Fact column creating problem to the reports.

I have two reports from same subject area from two different facts F1 & F2.
I have created one implicit column, as it is unable to judge from which fact it needs to build the query. So, it is genarting query from fact F1.
I have created one logical column in the fact and marked it as Implict column in presnenation layer.( as we the process)
But the problem is, for both the reports it is using same implicit column and it is generating the query with only one fact F1.
It is excluding the other fact F2.
One report it shoud use Fact1 and other report it should use Fact2.
PLease hep me in regarding this,

Kalyan J VFrom my understanding, implicit fact column's are set a subject area level and not dimension/fact level. So the fact table you have set for implicit fact will be used in both the reports. Why dont you just drag the second fact into the report and hide it, if you are not trying to use the fact 1 that is setup as implicit fact?

Multiple columns Drag n Drop in JTable

Issue:
I'm building a JTable with groupable column headers like this:
GROUP A_ | GROUP B_
col1 | col2 | col3 | col4
I based this on the GroupableHeader example at: http://www2.gol.com/users/tame/swing/examples/JTableExamples1.html
Question:
How would I approach allowing the user to reorder Groups by dragging
the Group level header(GROUP A_) and all of its subordinate columns (col1 and col2) and dropping into a new location. I'd like to simulate the standard JTable column DnD animation - but with groups of columns.

How to Create Table Using Column Drag and Drop Feature

Hi:
I am new to Oracle SQL dev Data Modeler tool and would like to know if there is a way to create a new table by re-using the existing columns or column groups. The idea is to maintain consistency and save table design time. If columns created previously can be re-used and require drag and drop of column in the right pane, then only new columns need to be manually created.
Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.

I checked out the video and tried it in Oracle designer, it works and works great!
My other question is that I may have several set of columns that I may want to group depending on the table requirements. Can I have multiple templates and choose which one to apply to?
Also, how do I choose the table where the table template needs to be applied. As I may be interested in applying the table template to selected tables only.

ALV GRID Display Column Width problem when filtering

   When i displaying ALV Grid Display ,i selected one column and set filter for that.
the problem is column width at display is 12 charecters but in filter it is allowing only 10 charecters to enter which is wrong. i am unable to set filter.please give solution.

ALV Download to Excel Column Colors Problem

Hi Experts,
I've encountered a problem in downloading records from ALV display to excel file.
The file is downloaded SUCESSFULLY however. When I opened the downloaded file, some columns were filled up with color(yellow) and other fields are not.
Do anyone have an idea why?

I have 21 Columns columns. The first 16 columns are filled with yellow colors...

Report Column Sorting problem

I have a report based on a view. For some reason some of the columns are not being sorted correctly. After pressing the column header to sort date columns the underlying data is not sorted properly (its out of order) or its not sorted at all.
Can you please let me know if there is a known bug causing that?

I think I'm having the same problem.
I have a report with data columns, several "not shown" columns, and several column links. I've noticed that any columns in the query after a certain point, will not sort the correct column. If I show all the columns and allow them all to sort, then some of the columns will sort the data in another column. (for example clicking on the header/sort link for column x sorts the table by column y and clicking on the sort link for column z sorts column x, etc).
I've noticed that I can move columns around in my select query and no matter how they are arranged, after the 7th or 8th column in the select statement, none of the columns following that will sort properly. I've tried all kinds of things, changing my select query around, enabling and disabling sorting, adding additional null columns in, setting and unsetting the default sort order, changing the order of the columns in the report. I don't have an order by in my query or anything weird besides some where clauses (most of which are from the default search functionality).
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? We just upgraded from HTML DB 2.2 to APEX 3.0 and the problem remained the same.

Layout column alignment problem

I have a form where I am printing the line item details. I am using the following code
&EKET-EINDT&,,&EKPO-NETPR1&,,&EKPO-NETWR1&
This gives the output
08/26/2007 688.5 1377.02
Between unit price and net price i have another coloumn to print Tax, which is only printed for documents relevant for tax (this is printed from another text element)
the amount 1377.02 is now printing under a wrong column. I need to increase spacing between unit price and net price.
I tried using the following code (by adding additional ,, )
&EKET-EINDT&,,&EKPO-NETPR1&,,,,&EKPO-NETWR1&
But this does not make any difference in the output.
Can anyone help me how to get these values aligned?

Mark, as stated, the ,, between two fields indicates a tab in the paragraph format being used.
To adjust you may need to create your own paragraph format as a copy of a standard one so your changes do not affect other lines in the form. Generally for columns where you are printing a field containing text you would use a tab with LEFT alignment, while for an amount you would use RIGHT or DECIMAL alignment. Just measure on the paper where you want them and set the number of CM / MM for the tabs on the paragraph format.
Printing &EKPO-NETPR1& or &EKPO-NETWR1& is dropping the first character of these fields - this may cause you problems if you ever use large amounts. By choosing RIGHT / DECIMAL tabs, you will not need to remove any leading spaces.
If you need to change the output of a field there are a number of options you can use: eg: &EKPO-NETPR(C)& compresses spaces in the field - &EKPO-NETPR(Z)& omits leading zeros. In SE71 when editing the text in a window - use the Insert>Symbols>New menu option to get a popup where you can put your field name and select output options like this.

ADF column footer problem

hi all,
im using Jdev 11.1.1.0.0. I have an inline table on my jspx page. I calculate the sum of one column in a managed bean. I want to display this value in table's footer section. So I added an input text to the column's footer and set the value from the managed bean. I have set the inline style of the table to width:100%;height:100%. But when the page renders, there is a big gap between the footer section and the last record. My table has only two records. Can anyone advice me on how to remove this gap?

Thanks for replying. I tried your solution. It works fine. The gap between the last column and the column footer is now removed.
But still there is a problem. Since it's an inline table, when the detail node (in detail stamp facet) is clicked, the detail table appears, but the full table is not adjusted to show the content. So in order to have a look at the detail table, we have to scroll inside. It is better if the table can be adjusted to view the detail table without much effort. I hope my problem is clear. Can this be done? Pls help....

Column name problem

Hi all.... I have a little strange problem.. I hope you all can help me in solving this.
for brief intro, I have an web application on MySQL written entirely in JAVA. Now we want to migrate from MySQL to Oracle... We have used Oracle Migration Workbench for migrating Schema and data. There is no problem uptill now.
The real problem is with the column names... to clear the problem lets have an example...
In mysql, if you execute[b] 'Select employeeID,empName from employee' you will always get 'employeeID' and 'empName' column names in the resultset meta data... but if you executes the same query on oracle you will get 'EMPLOYEEID' and 'EMPNAME' column names in resultset meta data... then we make some xmls using these column names and then parse them and get values using HashMap... now in hashmap 'a' is different from 'A'... We did not take care of this problem while building this application. Now the application is almost completed and we are just one step away from migrating to Oracle but this problem is hindering us.
just keep in mind there are several jsps,java beans, java services working on DB. So we need such a solution to apply on oracle and get our desired column names back from result set meta data.
I have tried multiple solutions for this.
1. Synonyms.. but you can only create synonyms for table not for column names
2. Create table with double qoutes... but then we have to change all our queries which requires a lot of files to change.
3. Create Views.... but it has same problem as of point 2.
Can you suggest any better way to work around this problem... which require minimum effort and we migrate to oracle with existing code... Otherwise we have to do a lot of donkey work to change the code...

As others have said, the SQL standard as well as several implementations do not support mixed- or camel-case identifiers. IN addition, only 8 character identifers are required, all else is 'above the standard'. You are facing a typical porting issue.
