11g sort table programmatically

Hi, I am using a table in 11g. In the vo query i added 'order by date desc' - which should display the table rows sorted with latest date. To insert new row i am using a popup in which the table also displayed. On click of a button i need to open the popup and add a new row using input text box then save - this is not db commit. The new row will be available only in the Iterator, VO & not in DB. So when ever i click the button in the popup the table has to be displayed with sorting of latest updated row at the top of the table. But i am not able to sort it with latest date. I used iterator refresh, executeQuery, sortCriteria but not working. Kindly help me to solve this.

Hi Sankari,
I've been having the same issue when i try to sort the af table component using its SortCriteria whenever i want to also include cache data in the sorting.
The workaround i did for this (which you can place either in ViewObject Class, AppModule Class or Bean) is get the viewobject and set its sortBy method.

The only problem would be that the sort functionality in the af table component will not react to this, so you'll have to implement your own action buttons to apply the sorting.

Creating rich table programmatically

hi all!
I'm using ADF 11g v2.
I was able to create the adf table programmatically but the the columns does not displays. I inspect the it doesn't have javax.faces.webapp.COMPONENT_IDS key in the properties, is this the reason why the column will not displays? If so, how to add it in the table and columns?

Yes, the data is an ArrayList. And have typo error in the last post, the Fetching Data message displays endlessly but it doesn't hang and the table has var attribute which is "row".
I bind the #{bean.data} to a declarative table and it is working fine. But the implementation is to be programmatic :-)

Crystal Report. How to create sort field programmatically?

After updating CrystalReports to version 13.0.10 I noticed a strange feature in Details section. I'm filling in the Subreport Details section from the User Table. Previously the data was displayed in the order it was in the database. Every time I open the report data now it is displayed in a different order. There is a huge amount of crystal report documents and I am not able to change each document. Is it possible to add a new sorting field programmatically? (I found only how to change existing sort fields)

Sorted Table - tabix issue

I have the following code While executing system is pointing to sy-tabix, but the data I am getting in the READ statement is from last record in the internal table
report z_9699_30.

PS: Reference in online help for sy-tabix now
Note that the sy-tabix system field is populated by the assigned secondary index, if sorted secondary keys are used. If this value is used for the subsequent index access to the internal table, the same table index must be explicitly used here. If used implicitly, the value would be interpreted as a primary index.

Hello Durga,
from the error what I understood is lt_key_values is a sorted table and you are trying append a new line to it. Incase of sorted table you need to use the INSERT statement and not the APPEND statement.
INSERT lw_key_value INTO table lt_key_values.

Short Dump While Changing Non-KeyField of Sorted Table

Hello,
A short dump occurs while trying to change a field of a sorted table item passed as CHANGING parameter. Are non-key fields in a sorted structure protected? The error message does not explicitely say so. Can anyone link to documentation explaining this behavior?

You are passing by reference with CHANGING.
It looks like read-only stuff can't be passed to method CHANGING.
When I pass a literal or constant, there is a syntax error.
System could have given you a syntax error instead of dump.
Have a look at this snippet. Both method calls throw syntax error.

Unable to sort table

Hi all
I have created an advance table and using multiple selection.I set Sort Allowed property 'Yes' for every column in property inspector.
But when I clicked on cloumn it throws a warning "The table cannot be sorted because it has pending changes which would be lost." and I am not able to sort table.
Can somebody give me some suggestions.

Well, it is a pdf file, and it once was a readable one, I suppose.
It must have data on the hex or binary level that can be retrieved.
If necessary, I will have to look into the file format of a PDF file? Is this documented?

Sort table of objects by object attribute

I would like to write method for sorting table of objects. Sorting will be according selected attribute of object.

It created successfully using SQL Developer
Here is the issue.
It is not loading the records, where fields are enclosed in '"' (Rec # 2,3,4,7)
It is loading all NULL value record (Rec # 6)
*** If we remove the '"' from input data, it loads all records including all NULL records
Log file has
KUP-04021: field formatting error for field P_NAME
KUP-04036: second enclosing delimiter not found
KUP-04101: record 2 rejected in file ....
Our questions
Why did "REJECT ROWS WITH ALL NULL FIELDS" not working?
Why did Terminated by "," OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' not working?
Any idea?

I hope this is the right forum for this issue, if not let me, where to go.
We are using Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0) on (Platform : solaris[tm] oe (64-bit)), Sql Developer 3.0.04
We are not allowed to put files on the CSV file system (Server A), where DB instance is running. We are able place CSV files on another server(Server B), where DB instance is not running.
We are trying to use oracle external table to load text files in .CSV format.
How do we create a Directory (Create Directory) on Server A DB to point to File system of Server B?
Is it feasible?
Any idea?

The Solaris DBA should be able to mount the filesystem for you. Either that or you have to get creative transferring the file like this;

I'm not sure, but maybe you should get rid of the redundancy that you have in your CREATE TABLE statement.
This line covers all fields:
FIELDS TERMINATED BY "," OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
{code}
So I would change the field list to:
{code}
DATE1 CHAR (10),
DATE2 CHAR (10),
POL_PRTY CHAR (30),
P_NAME CHAR (30),
P_ROLE CHAR (5)
{code}
It worked on my installation.

Note that I had to interchange the two lines:
MISSING FIELD VALUES ARE NULL
REJECT ROWS WITH ALL NULL FIELDS
Just to get the access parameters to parse correctly.
I added two empty lines, one in the middle and one at the end - both were rejected.
In the log file, you will see the rejectiions:
