11i clone fails.
Hi all,
I am cloning 11 Financials on Oracle RH4.
I fails with: RC-00110: Fatal: Error occurred while relinking of ApplyDBTechStack.
Looking back to make.log file I can see lots of:
/usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/3.4.6/libgcc_s.so: undefined reference to `dl_iterate_phdr@GLIBC_2.2.4'
I worked with support and they told me to apply patch 4198954. I've done that, but adcfgclone.pl is still failing with the same error.
Any suggestions?

</DW>Yes, I have 2 out of 4 networks interfaces configured. The first, nge0, provides an NFS share for a subnet. The second, nge1, provides iSCSI for another subnet devoted to VDI. Given the BUI available in the 7110 I cannot tell if it is accepting iSCSI on all interfaces or not.
So, if I correctly understand what you mean, if I swap the configuration of those two interfaces knowing that bug that you mention in VDI 3.1.1 it should work. I say this because during the proof of concept I was working with nge0 and everything went fine. However, I understand that more problems are to be expected if I decide to team more interfaces or provide other iSCSI targets on other networks.

When using CCC (Carbon Cophy Cloner) or Disk Utility to clone a Mac HD of one new iMac to another, over ThunderBolt, we are getting I/O errors. Even though the clone fails, the destination system does boot and log in, however, the logins take a very very very long time.
Thoughts.
Edit: Already ran Disk Utility. Also reinstalled a fresh OS on top of the cloned OS and it seemed to remedy the problem. Then, cloned to next machine in the row of the lab. Same problem.OK, by that I assume that you used Disk Utility to repair the subject disk and it reported "The volume (name) appears to be OK" in green.

If so, the Thunderbolt connection begins to look suspicious.
Reinstalling OS X subsequent to the "clone" operation may be an acceptable workaround but you should not have had the I/O errors you describe, nor should the login times (subsequent to the initial login, that is) be unacceptably long. It calls into question the integrity of all the information that was transferrred.

When trying to deploy agent to a Linux host from Cloud Control 12c (Add Target Manually / Add Host) getting Agent Clone Failed Exit Code:1 error. Looking at the log (I guess below is the fragment of the log related to this error) can't reaize what is the problem. Any idea?

[SOLVED] makepkg git clone fails (firewalled), how to use https
At my new employer git(hub) traffic has been blocked so I am unable to clone a repo with "git clone git://someurl/..." but I can clone via https "git clone https://someurl/..."
However, makepkg uses the former and fails with the following error:

fatal: unable to connect to github.com:
github.com[0: 192.30.252.130]: errno=Connection refused
Can I configure makepkg to use https cloning? I can edit makepkg itself, but this seems far from ideal.
For the time being, I just cd'ed into 'src' and manually cloned via https, then backed out and used 'makepkg -ei'. So I now have cower up and running, but this is a bit tedius to do for all git packages.Change it how? I tried changing it to "https://github..." but then makepkg didn't treat it as a git repo and just downloaded the webpage.

I am trying to clone the Oracle 11i (11.5.10.2 with RUP6) all single node on RHEL 4.6. I was following the metalink note 230672.1.
I ran adpreclone scripts successfully on the dbTier and appsTier. Shutdown the Apps & DB. Moved over the file system (whole /u01) which include all the homes ,tops and datafiles from source to target.
While running 'perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier' , I am getting following errors. I didn't check any pre-requisite patches for Rapid Clone as the EBS was already up-todate with RUP6. (How can I verify if the system is on RUP6 in case I have to double check it).

Oracle 11i Install fails on InstantiateFile ... instconf.drv
I am trying to install Oracle 11i E-Business Suite on a Windows 2K server and keep running into a problem with the install hanging after all the DB files have been unzipped. The step in the adrun9i.cmd script that seems to be hanging is "InstantiateFile -d <path>\instconf.drv
I believe I have all the Oracle specific quirks covered - i.e., MKS Toolkit installed, gnumake in right place, VC++ anchor without spaces, linker (link.exe) copied to system32 folder, etc.
I would appreciate any insight that anyone can provide.
PS: I don't believe resource is the problem - W2K system with 1GB RAM and ~110GB storage for Oracle 11i alone.You need MS Visual Studio/C++ 6.0 + SP3 or later. .NET version is not supported. See Metalink note 201392.
If you copy the installed Visual Studio installation then the environment variables will still point to the original directory. There is a VCVARS32.BAT file in VC98/Bin which sets the Visual C++ environment for command line usage. It is generated during the Visual Studio installation, so it also contains the original installation directory references.
I think the best practice is to completely remove the failed Oracle installation, reinstall Visual Studio 6.0 to C:\MSVC directory. It is tricky since Visual Studio 6.0 install asks for
"Choose a directory for common files:".
Enter: C:\MSVC\COMMON
Then you enter in rapidwiz the "MSDEV" directory as: C:\MSVC\VC98.
Do not forget to check in the "Register environment variables" during VS6.0 install and also apply Visual Studio 6.0 SP3 or later.
I think there is a link.exe in the MKS toolkit as well. windows/system32 folder is before the MKS bin folder int the PATH environment so that is how it is "solved". I simply deleted link.exe from MKS bin directory. (I use Cygwin instead of MKS software).

For database I will use rman backup and use duplicate command to clone it. Now i have doubt for application tier.
I performed so many multi-node to single-node clones with split configurartion (form, web, admin - node1) and (conc , db -node2), in this situation i used adpreclone.pl merge appsTier on node1 and adpreclone.pl merge appl_top on node two.
Now I am confused how to do it. As all services exists on both nodes.
Do i need to run merge appsTier on both nodes? or merge appsTier on one node and merge app_top on other? or no need to run merge appsTier? confused :(
Any pointers on this appreciated.

Hi,
after cloning 11i (using rapidclone), EM isn't configured for the clone target. When I start
EM (emctl start dbconsole) I'm told EM is trying to start on the host of the clone source.
Can I change the way I clone so that I don't have to manually reinstall EM after each clone?

brhNo. Rapid Clone is not currently aware of the 10g host.domain_sid directory in the $ORACLE_HOME which houses the configuration files for the dbconsole. You only option is to either recreate the repository as you mentioned, or change the repsitory directory and every file that references the source server/host/listener/instance. You would probably want to script that, or find that dropping and recreating the repository is faster.

Clone failing with multiple RMAN errors
Environment:
Cloning from 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.3
Solaris 2.9 source to Solaris 2.10 target
11.1.0.7 RMAN catalog
TSM 5.4 MML (tape)
I'm trying to clone a database via RMAN catalog which is at 11.1.0.7. My environment info is listed above.
If I try this on another Solaris 2.10 machine it works fine.
The whole clone works until the very end when the database clone tries to restart and create and assign a TEMP.
I get the following error messages in the clone log:

At this point if I point at the new control file and start the database I can manually ALTER the database open with resetlogs and everything "seems" fine in the clone since it did make it all the way through the archive log applies. I have ran CROSSCHECK backup+ and CROSSCHECK archivelog all+ against my catalog and it found nothing out of the norm.
Like I mentioned above if I try this on another system at the same DB and OS level it works just fine.
Has anyone every seen this error?

It should use the default channel as configured in the target proddb controlfile.
Can you test if you declare this channel in the script if it works (probably you need to copy tdpo.opt.dbhost1 file from the proddb server and adjust path and name)?

It's been awhile since I've cloned our EBS 11i.
We used to have identical structure on the apps and db tiers between Prod, Uat and Crp environments. Some time ago we moved our Prod d/b on the SAN. So, now I have datafiles, redo logs and control files in different locations then before. In prod they are now in /prod/oraprd/oracle/data, /prod/oraprd/oracle/redo, /prod/oraprd/oracle/control.
In Uat, they are in /uat/orauat/data directory.
My question is: after I run a adpreclone.pl and copy files over to Uat, then untar them into correct directories, do I then go to init.ora parameter and change locations of control files?
After that, do I modify (new locations) and rebuild controlfile before run adcfgclone.pl ???

Just make sure you have the directories already created on the target server before you run postclone script.

Oracle R12 Clone failing with RC-00118 Error occurred during creation of...
Im encountering the above error message i have seen the below thread which looks like the same issue, i was wondering if someone could confirm if the clone process requires an off-line backup on the source system for the clone process to work. Currently i'm using a tape backup which runs overnight, the system is up at the time of backup.

followed by perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier
