2 appleTV 2 and 2 ipads

I have 2 Apple TV2, 1 at home and 1 at a cabin. The cabin broadband isnt fast enough to stream video. I download movies at home on an Ipad and airplay it on the Apple TV2 at the cabin.
My wife now has an Ipad and a downloaded a movie. It will not stream on the Apple TV at the cabin and Apple TV says it isnt authorized? How can we get it to work as well? Thanks.

I'm not sure if there isn't a way without physically moving content, however that's the way I've always done it and the as it works for me it's become the only way I know.
You can't do this with rented content, it will need to be purchased and protected, perhaps you've got some pre DRM free audio files.
If you select the itunes view menu and then view options and tick 'kind' and then look in the 'kind' column and look for anything with the word 'protected' in it (you will have to enable 'Kind' for each type of content (ie movies, music, tv shows), once you find something drag it to a memory stick or transfer it to your drop box if you have it set up.

I have the latest AppleTV and Ipad. I cannot get home sharing working, all settings are correct but nothing happens. I returned to the apple store who connected TV box directly to network with cable and home sharing worked between the 2 devices.
I went home and switched on, it worked (both on wifi). Next day tried again, thinking it was all there and nothing.
I tried the tips on the community pages without success. I called Apple helpline, they ran through all my settings which were correct, but still nothing, after 2/3 days they called me back to tell me to wait for Apple software update to solve this problem !!
is something happening on this issue, please can someone tell me. On my old Ipad I just used a Component cable, but this will not work with the new pad, I got the adaptor plug and nothing happens, no output.

I'd have to Agree, You checked on iTunes to make sure it was Turned on? Check your Router make sure it's working incase, cause sometimes it's the little Things that make it not work.

Organizing TV Shows for AppleTV and iPad viewing (homeshare)

As our media collections grows we are trying to create the best storage methods for long term. Right now I am focusing on TV Shows, but would also like to apply whatever method we come up with to Movies with multiple films in the series (ex: Harry Potter, James Bond, Star Trek...). I am going to use NCIS as an example since I have 8 seasons of it. Right now, I see NCIS-Season 1, NCIS-Season 2, NCIS-Season 3, etc.... If we continue like this, our scrolling list on iPad and Apple TV is going to become slow to load and long to navigate as we have a lot of shows. It is already a little slow loading the icons on my iPad through my homeshare.
What I would like to see in my iPad and on my Apple TV is a single folder named NCIS.
After selecting that folder I would then like to see a list of subfolders that says Season 1, Season 2, 3, 4 etc...
Then I'd like to select the applicable Season and see the list of episodes.
So what I would like to know is if it is possible to organize using a Folder - Subfolder method, and if it is, how?
Option #2 - If it is not possible to use a Folder, Subfolder, method for viewing on AppleTV; then how about just having a folder named NCIS and when I click on that folder it opens to a list of all episodes?
I would still want to see the list to be in order by Season then Episode.

I was merely offering an explanation of why it might sync more items than the purchases you have made. It may of course be resyncing everything again, you should be able to tell from itunes whether it's simply syncing a whole bunch of new small files such as photos or tunes to fill a gap left by syncing a shorter tv show, or whether these files that are syncing are content that was already on there.

Yes. You can download the remote app and use your iPad to control. You would just need to use the physical remote to setup the network and enable home sharing on Apple TV (if you haven't setup home sharing you would need to do so in iTunes)
The only other interactions would be using AirPlay (dependent on each developer to enable, it should usually state this in description) or mirroring your device. The price has dropped considerably so best to just get a new one

I am really happy with my new AppleTV and new Ipad. FINALY 1080p50, full hd!
Only.....what uses are these options if Imovie, Finalcutpro X and Itunes ONLY support appletv and Ipad from the second generation when you use share?
End the end result is 720P again?
Anybody from apple reading this?

You can get your material from FCPX onto your TV through ATV3 in 1080p. You can get 1080p from FCPX onto your new iPad using home sharing in iTunes.
ATV3 and the new iPad came out after FCPX and that is probably why the option is still for ATV2 at the moment, so just ignore it and use Mac&PC or do what Tom suggested.

I have tried with an Ipad Air and Ipad using Op System 8.0.2 to mirror their contents to the screen of my Samsung Flat Screen Flat TV via the latest make of Appletv.I have spent over 2 hours going through all settings etc with Apple Customer Service Live Chat.They cannot find or replicate the problem and says it is all working fine.My TV screen displays, when i go into mirroring, "ready for connection - on your device launch Allshare Cast".Nothing happens although i have agreed with Apple Support that all settings are on and are correct.Can anyone help please, as Apple Support cannot?

How do I increase image of iPad when projecting through AppleTV and projector?

I have several AppleTVs hooked to either NEC or Mitshbishi projectors. From iPads I connect to the AppleTVs via AirPlay and mirror. The problem is that the iPad projected image is small and cannot be increased that much. I have messed with resolution on both the AppleTVs and the projectors but the image size doesn't increase that much, even when I hit the Magnify button on the projector's remote. It's especially small when holding the iPad in portrait, but increases somewhat while in landscape, but never completely fills the projector screen like the AppleTV homescreen or while projecting a laptop image. Is there a way to increase the size of the projected iPad image?

Is there an app that would work better for this?
I'd much rather use a text app in portrait mode, but if needed I can make snapshots of the screen and use images. But I also need the image or document scaled as large as possible on the projector screen.
Does anyone know of an app I should be using or solution?
I am a worship leader at a small church. I want to mirror my ipad from the platform so the other musicians can see the lyrics and chords. My ipad needs to be in portrait mode. Again, I'd much rather use a text app, but can work around using a image if I must.

After Update of iPad and MacBookPro no communication between AppleTV and Devices

After Update of my iPad 2 with iOS 6.0 and OS to 10.8.2 there is no communication between AppleTV and these devices.

Theres not an airplay icon in the multitasking bar on my iPad 2/iPhone 4S.
I swiped left so dont say to swipe.
I've tried:
Restoring the AppleTV
Hard rebooting the iPad
Restarting the AppleTV
(And airplay is enabled on the AppleTV)

just a thought, but have you double checked to make sure the atv and the ipad/iphone are all on the same wireless network? perhaps the atv has latched onto a neighbors open wi-fi (or your phone and/or ipad)

AppleTV mirroring in fullscreen & different content on tv and ipad

is there any way to mirror a app in fullscreen on AppleTV? I know the ratio is not the same on iPad and 1080p flatscreen.
But there are some apps they can handle this problem.
As you can see the content on tv and ipad is differrent. Some ideas how to do that?

On the iPad Content Viewer too, you have the "Home" icon to go back to the library to download or read another folio.
Tab once anywhere on the screen to bring up the navigation bar, at the top left hand corner, you have the "Home" icon to go back to the library. Look at the screenshot below

I also get this problem on my iPad, so probably not related to the AppleTV. On the iPad I restarted Airport Extreme this time, and then the iPad saw my Home Sharing.
So to recap, restarting the router or Airport Express allowed the iPad and AppleTV to see Home Sharing. Restarting AppleTV also allows AppleTV to see Home Sharing.
So does anyone have any idea?

Frustrating!
I'm now more than convinced that this is caused by the latest iTunes version.
As some others stated in other threads .... it seems that Apple doesn't really take care of this problem. So what if, if we could make them feeling the same pain as we do. ... Just by dropping them a mail as soon as we have the problem again. Not more often, we don't want to be unfair, but everytime it happens.

Since the last update to iTunes Version 10.6.1 (7) streaming content (Movies and TV shows) to Apple TVs and iPads has two major problems:
- Home Sharing is lost during streaming (streaming stops even if a large portion of the content is already preloaded)
- streaming stops and the main screen pops up (Home Sharing still available)
This happens sometime after some minutes, sometimes after several hours, but it surely happens.
I followed every advice I could found on this support website. There are now a lot of threads following this issue.
Sometimes it seems getting better, but hours later the same isues occured again. Watching content on this enviroment is a real pain and very frustrating.
As many others I'm now convinced that the latest update of iTunes caused this problem.
Our family enviroment contains the following Apple products:
- iTunes on a Win7 32 bit Noname PC (all content)
- second iTunes on a iMac with OS 10.6.8 (all content)
- third iTunes on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.8 (daughter, only selected content)
- fourth iTunes on a Win7 32 Samsung Notebook (son, only selected content)
- all iTunes sharing the same Home Sharing ID
- 2 Apple TV second generation
- 1 Apple TV first generation
- 2 iPod touch (bought last year)
- 2 iPads (second generation)
all firmware or software are on latest available patchlevel.
At this moment, I can not recomend to others to buy this products.
I will drop this feedback everytime my famiily and I facing this problem... just to help you to get a better feeling of the urgency of this issue.

IPhone 5 and iPad v4 not detected in devices over wifi

A week ago my iPhone and iPad were both linked with my desktop for wifi sync and the Remote app. A few days ago they both stopped appearing in iTunes unless they are physically connected and my desktop's library no longer appear in the Remote app for either device. I've tried all of the methods I've been able to find online, but none have worked.
I have an iPhone 5, iPad v4, AppleTV v3, and a laptop and desktop (both with Windows 7). My only issue is connecting the mobile devices via the remote app and wifi sync to my iTunes library on my desktop (which has a wired connection to the router). My mobile devices can connect to my laptop's library and to my AppleTV. Likewise, my AppleTV can connect to my desktop's library via Home Sharing.
Home Sharing is turned on for both devices and my desktop library. I also have iTunes set to share my entire library. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of the Apple programs on my desktop (and did a full reboot between the uninstall and reinstall). I've made sure that my firewall is not blocking iTunes (I even went so far as to disable my firewall as a test). Because my mobile devices can connect to my desktop's library via the remote app while on my home wifi network, so I doubt the issue is my router's settings or signal interference. I verified that my "services" have "Apple Mobile Devices" and "Bonjour" set to automatically startup. Wishfully, I even tried installing the new iTunes 11 to see if it would fix the problem...but no dice.
The only thing I changed on my system during that period was installing the PocketCloud companion application on my desktop. As that was the only change I made, I thought it might have been the issue. I uninstalled the PocketCloud desktop companion application, uninstalled all Apple software, rebooted, and reinstalled the apple software, but that also didn't work. I also was unable to find any complaints that PocketCloud interfered with the iPad/iPhone's wireless connection with iTunes.

If anyone runs into this problem, I was able to solve it. The issue had to do with the IGMP Proxy on my Verizon Fios router. I don't know why my devices could connect to my wireless devices while they couldn't connect to my wired desktop.

Simultaneously video to AppleTV and audio to Express?

Hi All, can I simultaneously stream the video output of a movie on iTunes to my projector connected to an AppleTV and the audio output of the movie to speakers connected to Airport Express? When I try to use multiple speakers in iTunes on my Mac it doesn't work. Only output on AppleTV runs, but nothing over the AirportExpress to my external speakers.

No, that will not work.
If playing content on the ATV, directly on the ATV with no iDevice involved, the audio can be sent to AirPlay speakers.
As soon as an iDevice is involved in sending content to the ATV, the option to send audio to the AirPlay speakers is removed.
