Hi all, I need help again
I have a List box & a Line chart, the List box has approx 10 separate metrics which are in different number formats(numeric & percentage).  The problem is I cannot figure out how to set the number format for each selection in the List box.  So I keep the number format as numeric and the result is my percentages end up as fractions, I have been searching however I cannot find a tip or trick which addresses this issue, can anyone help?

As far as I can see, the Appearance / Text / Labels property only allows for one numeric format at any given time.  So in this case, the user would have to either select a numeric or a percentage format.
I'm not sure which Insertion type that you wanted to use, but would the Spreadsheet Table component be a possible alternative for you?  You can insert by either Position or Rows with this component.

  • Hyperion Performance Scorecard - number formatting

    Hi folks,
    I know that this is probably not the best forum to post this question to but I will give it a shot...
    I'm trying to modify number formatting in HPS application.
    First weird thing is that I can see two different number formats at one time in the application.
    I have a scorecard with some measures in it. Results are formatted like this: 123 456 789,00. But score for the same measure is formatted like this: 99.65
    So there is different decimal separator! Why is that?
    I have also tried to modify thousands separator from space to dot (or whatever else char). But without any success.
    Could anyone help me please? I'm starting to be a bit desperate...
    Thanks a lot!

  • TO_CHAR number formatting wanting 0 in front of period if needed

    Hi,
    I am displaying a percentage to my client and he wants a percentage of less than 1 to show with a 0 in front of the period, i.e. .2 should be 0.2. Sounds reasonable to me. Have experimented with the different number formats of TO_CHAR and I have not found a solution for this yet. My solution should be able to handle any percentage between 0 and 100. I show 1 digit after the period.
    TO_CHAR(ROUND((total_used*100/total_equipped),1), '09.9') - now .2 shows as 00.2 - no good
    TO_CHAR(ROUND((total_used*100/total_equipped),1), '0.9') - now .2 shows as 0.2, but I can now no longer display percentages using 2 digits before the period.
    Anyone have a solution to this? Thanks!!!

  • I am trying to change the page number format in a section of my document.  I want 2 sections to have 2 different page number formats.  How can I do this?

    I have 2 sections in my Pages document.  I am using Insert Auto Pages in footers to number my pages, but when I try to change the number format for one section it changes the format to the same as my change for the other section.  I want auto page number in each section but want each section's page numbers to have different formats. I have managed to get the auto page numbering to begin separately in each section, but just can't get the formats to be different.  There must be a way to do this.  Anyone know how?

  • Broadcaster - PDF Output: number format

    dear gurus
    Where do I find the setting to set the display format for numbers of a PDF report sent with the BEx Broadcaster?
    I'm currently setting up a lot of reports on our new BI installation. Most of these reports are sent in Excel (XML) format. When the user opens such an Excel file, all the numbers are displayed in the correct format.
    eg. 1'000'000.00
    (swiss-german format)
    If I send the same report as PDF I get some (well, for me) wired format
    e.g. 1,000,000.00
    or 1 000 000,00
    As far as I understand this, in Excel it seems to take the local user settings on the computer for displaying numbers an such. Since the PDF is generated on the server, the generator takes the format available (or set) on the server.
    Tomorrow morning there will be a guy from the BASIS in our company. I'd like to have a clue what to tell him and how to make the PDF generator take our number format.

    Hi Vineet
    Thanks a lot for this advice. I did already test that by changing the number format in SU01 to different values. I did change that for the user which is set as permission holder for the query and also for the user that is set as broadcast sender. I have following options to set
    1.234.567,89
    1,234,567.89
    1 234 567,89
    All three settings did not have any impact to the report. The number format did not change. Furthermore there is no option for the desired format:
    1'234'567.89

  • Convert Mainframe Packed Decimal to Oralce Number Format

    Dear all,
    I am having a file in which amount fields are given in a Packed Decimal format. Can anyone suggest me how I can read this data element from the file and convert it into Oracle Number datatype.
    File is a fixed length. All the amount fields are given in Packed Decimal Format and rest of the fields are given in text format.
    Thanks and regards
    Nagasayan Puppala

    Hi,
    Firstly thanks for your reply.
    Actually I am not using SQL Loader to load data from
    a flat file to Oracle table. I am writing a custom
    program that reads the file and populates the oracle
    table. I'll put aside the question of 'why' you'd want to do that. SQL*Loader's singular purpose in life is to load flat files of data into Oracle DB. Sometimes there is a reason for reinventing the wheel.
    How does your program communicate with the Oracle DB? If utilizing ESQL and Pro*Cobol (or Pro*<whatever> ) you will have read the data into a variable of some type in you host language. The variable of the host variable to hold the value (if you did a 'select from' that table) would be the correct target type for an insert statement. Whatever host language type conversion is available bewteen those two types ( if they are different at all ) is all that is needed. The precompilers have converters between certain native host and internal Oracle types built-in. It is how you get any data between the two systems. This is only a problem if the host language has no converter between the numeric types (if differnet.). When you read from the flat file are you reading it into a native packed decimal in the host language?
    ODBC/JDBC similar strategy..... cast conversion between the native type that Oracle wants and the one into which your custom program reads it into.
    So I want to know whether there are any Oracle
    utility programs that will convert the packed decimal
    to a oracle number format or not.There are Oracle routines that convert into the native Oracle DB formats. There are implicitly available through the normally utilized interfaces to OCI ( ESQL and ODBC/JDBC ) . There are none decoupled from those interfaces though (that I know of).
    There are no standalone programs that mutate a flat file into another flat file that then could be loaded. That's is typically slower and utilzes more space than most customers want than just directly inputing the data into Oracle DB.

  • Trigger returning different date formats.

    Posted from Windows forum:
    We just reticently received a update to an .net application from a vendor. When our client machines (Windows XP) run the app we receive 2 different date formats returned from an post insert table trigger. The correct format is 'DD-MON-YY' in which a couple machines still return and the others return the format 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MM:SS'. I've tried setting the NLS_Date Format with no success. Database is Oracle 8i. Any suggestions?

    CREATE TABLE X.ACCESS_LOG
    ACCESS_LOG_ID NUMBER NOT NULL,
    SYS_ID NUMBER NOT NULL,
    DATE_IN DATE NOT NULL,
    DATE_OUT DATE NOT NULL,
    INSTRUMENT_ID_IN NUMBER,
    INSTRUMENT_ID_OUT NUMBER,
    STATION_IN VARCHAR2(20),
    STATION_OUT VARCHAR2(20),
    AREA_IN VARCHAR2(25),
    AREA_OUT VARCHAR2(25)
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER XFER_TO_TRACKING

    SELECT qtr

    FROM X.QTR_SET
    WHERE to_date(:new.Date_In,'dd-mon-yy') BETWEEN first_date AND last_date;
    Insert (....)
    END/
    Here is the basic code for table and trigger. When the trigger fires the value for :new.date_in will come over in the format of "dd-mon-yy", which we have been looking for, or "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MM:SS" which just came up with this new release depending on which station is used.

  • How to make sure what material number format is the same in SRM and R/3?

    Hi all!
    I faced the following problem:
    "Product does not exist in plant or it has been flagged for deletion". This error message occurs during shopping cart creation or during transferring purchase requisition from R/3 to SRM. It seems like SRM carries out some material checking in R/3 before shopping cart save and can't find out appropriate R/3 material. The only reason I can assume is different material number formats in SRM and R/3. Material number length is the same in both systems.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alexander.

    Alex-
    We experienced this problem just recently.  Our situation involved trying to add a material to the cart from an internal catalog (CCM).  As mentioned earlier their is a configuration setting to indicate the number of characters the "Product" (SRM terminolgoy) or "Material" (R/3 terminology) should be.  We made our setting 18 characters (same length as field in R/3).  The important thing to understand is that the material number is actually defined as a character field, not a numerical field so the length of the material "number" is critical for the system to accurately check the material.  Do the following and see if you correct the error.
    1)  Go into transaction COMMPR01 in SRM, select the search tab and choose Material in the Find box, then click start.  Choose the material you are experiencing the problem on and verify that the number of characters is the same in SRM as it is in R/3.
    2)  Next, go into R/3 and look at table entries in MARC for the material.  This will show you all the different plants associated with the material.
    3)  Finally, create a cart and procure the material.  If you get the error message go to the basic data of the cart and verify the location (plant) is one of the plants you found in step 2.  If not, change the location to one from step 2 and check the cart.

  • Can the number format be controlled with custom css styles

    I have a union query where the first query returns a count that I formated as a number '999,999' and the second query returns percentages that I want formatted as '99.9%' I can use conditional formatting to determine which part of the query the result came from but conditional formatting doesn't allow me to control the number format so I was wondering if custom css styles would allow me to control the format. Is converting the number to a character and concatenating a % sign ia better option. I was able to do this using BI Publisher and a different apporach but I want to be able to do it with Answers.

    Make sure the address bar in Contribute is displaying your URL and
    not a file path.
    Your administrator can remedy this by going to the role settings and making sure the Home address is set to the URL.  If you can't get the admin to update the role settings, you can enter your URL into the address bar and then the site should be able to find linked style sheets.

  • How to override the NUMBER format in BEX?

    Hi,
    I want to override the number formats in BEX queries (Excel).
    In the Query Designer -> Query Properties -> Value Display,
    or in 3.x: Query Properties -> Display -> Number Format,
    the setting "Display of +/- Signs" affects how the numeric values in Excel will be displayed. This setting seems to take effect after everything else is done.
    I can change any cell formatting (pattern, border, color, etc.) except the number format. I have tried redefining Styles, assign different styles to the Result Area, setting up a default template, even Visual Basic (Sub SAPBEXonRefresh), nothing works, my settings always get overwritten by the query setting.
    For example:
    I am trying to assign the Number Format "Accounting", with a "$" sign in the far left of the fields, to the amounts in my workbook.
    It should look like this: "$     (123,456.00)"
    The results: my settings are replaced by the format "Currency" with the "$" sign.
    "    ($123,456.00)"
    It must be due to that number format setting in the query designer.
    I was hoping the number format setting in the query designer could be switched off. But apparently it is not possible. Not even the "Adjust Formatting after Refreshing" setting affects this behavior. It always takes effect.
    Does anyone have any idea what could be done about it?
    Thank you,
    Vince

    OK, I think I have just found the answer to my own question...
    I had done something in the VB editor that created this whole problem. Now it is fixed and works as it should.
    Thanks anyway.

  • Australian Standard Number Format FIXED

    For anyone who remembers this post back in oct 2006
    Desparate for Australian Standard Number Format
    Posted: Oct 31, 2006
    The Aussie standard has a space instead of a comma so that 10,500 (ten and a half metres/feet/notation) should show as 10 500 & Currency should show as $10,500.00
    Unfortunately Apple in their infinite wisdom do not acknowledge that numbers and currency can be displayed differently and OSX system settings does not allow customization of the number part of the format as far as i can ascertain.
    And I would like to say that not being satisfied with the answer on this issue i have continued to pester if you like the freindly engineers at tech support in Australia
    (their friendly once they let you past basic support anyway) who have recognised that this is indeed an APPLE OSX PROBLEM & has nothing to do with the software manufacturer who uses the operating system preferences to populate the software (makes sence to me)
    Well
    It got fixed in Snow leopard
    Thanks

    Apple had this functionallity in 10.3 panther & if you upgrade from 10.3 to 10.8 the funcionallity remains. Only new installs are affected by the lack of being able to set numbers & decimals in the preferences. Apple released this terminal command to alter numeral separation
    ( defaults write -g AppleICUNumberSymbols -dict 0 ' ' 1 ' ' ) & allow a space between the thousands & hundreds,then open preferences international formats & see your new found Standard.
    It is not without problems however as it also places a space between the thousands & hundreds in Currency
    This is a fix/workaround that needs to be seriously investigated by apple engineering & placed back into Leopard Before the release as this is an Apple Disfunction of the Australian Standards number notation & as i was advised the space is also a US Standard Lack of this functionallity meens that Mac does NOT COMPLY TO THE AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS REQUIREMENT & THEREFORE POSSIBLY WOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED IN ANY GOVERNMENT INSTITUTION AS A SUPPLIER I hope someone from apple in the US reads this & does something about it. • Allow Multiple Phone Number Formats

    Hi folks,
    In the past I have always set the Phone Number format using the simple Arbitrary Mask feature in the text box properties e.g. (99) 9999 9999 but I have a form where two different phone number formats are acceptable (an Australian landline OR mobile).
    They are:
    (99) 9999 9999
    9999 999 9999
    Is this only possible through the magic of Javascript? I have tried Googling and found nothing.

    Thank you for your reply GKaiseril. I think I'm starting to undertsand it a little bit, especialyul after reading a similar thread that you contruibuted to here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/861867
    My understanding is that the "vr re_NA_Phone_Commit =" bit specifies where the spaces are in the strong of numebrs, where the brackets go etc. But doesn't this still only set one type of format?
    If I use the following code, it turns 0399999999 (an example landline number) into (03) 5499 9999, great! But if I typed in 0499999999 (an example mobile number) I want it to become 0499 999 999 becasue that's how we format mobile numbers.
    // custom format
    var re_NA_Phone_Commit = /^\(?([0-9]{2})\)?[. ]?([0-9]{4})[-. ]?([0-9]{4})$/
    if(re_NA_Phone_Commit.test(event.value))
    event.value = "("+ RegExp.$1 +") " + RegExp.$2 + "-" + RegExp.$3;
    else {
    event.value = "";
    event.rc = false;

  • Number Formats

    Hello,
    We have an adobe form that we export from SAP and import back to SAP. We need to maintain different locales for different users(US, DE). In SAP, some users have US and some have DE and the number formats are 123,23.99 for US and 123.23,99 for DE on SAP for them. When they export the data to adobe forms, all the users see 123,23.99 irrespective of their locale settings. I tried using viewer's system locale and also default locale (setting the default locale on the form properties to viewer's system locale). but nothing works and everybody sees number on adobe forms as US format. Also when german users import the file back into SAP(SAP - shows in german format), additional 3 zeros are added to the data in SAP.
    Eg: They export 123.23,00(german format-SAP) into adobe forms(here it shows as 123,23.00) and on import back into SAP it becomes 123.23.000,00. Can someone help me here? I am new to this environment.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello Sethuram,
    Thanks a lot for replying, but as I mentioned, the adobe needs to show it in different locale formats based on the user's locale. We have US and german clients. So, hardcoding it in java-script might not work. Can we obtain the OS locale setting of the computer the user has and set that in java script? Can u please let me know as to how can that be done, if it can?
    I see "Viewer's system locale and default locale . I see different explanantions for them around. How are they exactly used? Our SAP server is hosted in US. Does that matter?
    Thanks,
