2 missed broadband appointments

BT have missed 2 appointments to fix my broadband. They now say they will come in another 2 days. I work from home and a week without broadband has cost me a lot. I really need them to fix it today. Can anyone in BT reallocate an engineer to fix my broadband today? Does anyone know how I can speak to someone who manages the engineers in my local area? I can only speak with an outsourced call centre who can only book appointment slots and apparently have no means of escalation. Is this really a sensible way to look after your customers?

Go to Solution.

My broadband was fixed today. It is interesting that the engineer told me that a Control Team based in the UK looks after communication between the outsourced call centre in India and the engineers. He said the Indian call centre can communicate with the Control Team and get updates on the whereabouts of engineers. This seems sensible  but in my case the Indian call centre said that they had no way of communicating with the engineers (which it seems I was right not to believe).
The engineer was surprised that I had two missed visits with no communication. I suspect that the engineer bookings were never made because of a system or human error. I will never know.
Hopefully this may help someone else who has a similar problem.
Now onto getting my £10 compensation per missed visit ....

  • 3 Missed broadband appointments and counting!!

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me out, advise me, or just listen to me rant for a few minutes.  I ordered BT infinity 2 and a BT phone line at the begining of November and was given an instalation date of the 18th.  A couple of days before I recieve a SMS text regarding the appointment, so I ring BT and I'm told they can't install the broadband on the 18th but couldn't tell me why until the 19th when someone would call me back, the lady did make a vague reference to the word 'port' which is all I was told.  The 18th comes around and an engineer turns up and installs the phone line, no issues.
On the 19th I'm called and told they don't like to install the broadband until they know the newly installed phone line is working, which although annoying concidering they made the appointments, is understandable.  I am then told they have to cancel the order and start a new one, which the lady does, she tells me theres no problem, nothing to worry about even tells me they will sort me out with compensation once the broadband is installed.
The new install date was the 2nd of December which was another 2 weeks but I was ok with that, plus it gave me time to arrange the day off work.  A couple of days later I recieve a SMS txt telling me someone was going to call me 2 days later regarding my order.  The 2 days pass and I call BT and I'm told the date has been changed to the 5th, it's no problem, nothing to worry about.
By now I've put my holiday in at work, so now my wife has to book a day off for the 5th.  Today (26th Nov) I have recieved an SMS text regarding 'The delay in activation of your services', someone will call me in 2 days to discuss this.  I rang BT on the number given in the text and spoke to a guy, the only piece of useful information I got from him was that there are no ports available in my local exchange and they need an engineer to install aditional ports into the box before my broadband can be connected.
I'm guessing I now have to wait the 2 days for someone to call me at which point they will no doubt cancel my order and rearrage another.
So far me and my wife have used 3 days holiday with more on the cards, and it annoys me that when I spoke to BT on my first call they obviously new the problem was there were no ports available.  I actually feel a little cheated that they waited until the phone line was connected before raising any issues.
If anyone can help me get this sorted out, point me in the right direction that would be great.  Me and my wife don't have many holidays left and can't afford to waste them on missed appointments.

Sounds like they've run out of FTTC Ports in the cab. It might take some time for an Engineer to fit a new Fibre Card, it's a specialised job that only certain engineers can do...
Also if they have to pull in new Copper Tails to the PCP from the DSLAM then that will take even longer!

  • Missed Repair Appointments

Need to change my phone service. Verizon books repair appts. You come home from work 4 hours early (their window is 1-9). Not only don't they show up but they don't have the courtesy to call and tell you that they are not coming.  This has happened twice and each time they come up with multiple excuses for no show.  Terrible way to treat a long time customer. Actually, a terrible way to treat any customer.  To add salt to the wound they give you the same time frame for the next day.  Like you really believe that they will show up.  Anyone out there with a recommendation for a different phone service.

  • Missing recurring appointments

I have sync'ed my Ipod touch calendar with outlook 2002. None of my recurring appointments that are not all day events will show up on the Ipod touch. All my other appointments show up. Anyone have a work around for this?

I have the same problem.  I found a similar post that seems to be active at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4782836?tstart=0.  Haven't found the solution yet, but that one seems to be getting more attention.

  • Settings -- Calender -- Sync Option Missing | old appointments "lost"

I have a problem with my iPhone 4. In the past it was possible to adjust the time old appointments are "kept" in the calender. Unfortunately, I had to reset my iPhone and now (iOS 4.3.5) the option "Settings --> Calender --> Sync" in which I can adjust if and when my iPhone drops old appointments seem to be gone.
Does anyone know where Apple moved that option? I really need access to my old appointments.
    Best wishes,
    Marco

Hi the same problem happened to me.  If your have Icloud on your computer you can sign in and when you click  oto your claendar they should still be there.  Then plug in your Iphon with the usb cable and go to general, settingins then go into icloud and scroll down to storage and backup and click on that.  it should restore what is on your computer.
    hope it works for you

  • I keep missing my appointments and reminders

I have had blackberry's before and I am so used to set up reminders for almost anything, they were great because they wouldn't stop appearing until I was 100% positive that I want to cancel or snooze it... it was more of an alarm mixed with a reminder...
Now on my new Iphone 4S I have been trying to set reminders or calendar events on several occations and I keep missing them. The problem is I usually don't check my phone while I work so I let all my messages, e-mails, reminders, events, etc populate on the lock screen. Once I enter my phone I have to remember that I had a reminders by swiping down the notification center... which defeats the purpose of having a reminder in the first place... I was wondering if there is way to have a constant pop up notification that will let me know that I have reminders unchecked pass due, jsut like a Baclberry would do, or at least an Icon badge that calls my attention... Maybe there is an app for that?... Please Help.

I get the same thing with my 4S on Verizon while I am at home. It's due to poor reception here. Once I leave home I get 3G. Sounds like this is your problem. You can try another phone, switch carriers or live with it.

  • Missing recurrence appointments in Nokia 5310

    Hello,
    This are the first info;
What version of Windows is being used? XP home edition
What Service Pack is installed? 2
What version of PC Suite is installed? 6.85.14.1
What is the connection method, cable, bluetooth or IR? cable
When I make a appointment that shall be recurrence for example twice a week (mon & tue) for 5 weeks it won't sync the info to my Nokia 5310. It looks fine in Outlook XP but not in the phone, it's only the first appointment that is being synced to the phone, the appointment on mondays.
Do anyone know if it should work or not?

This has been discussed here many times. Outlook has more recurring patterns than the phone. Check from phone side (create a meeting with recurring pattern using the phone to see w´hat patterns the phone supports and then use those in Outlook.
For "every Mondays and Tuesdays" type of pattern you have to create 2 separate repeating meetings: every Mondays and a second one: every Tuesdays.

  • Mac client (huh!) forgets appointments in future

    Hi,
Im not the guy with the mac, but I have to deal with this error.
His post office was down some hours (certificate trouble) and after
restart of the poa he missed the mails between yesterday and november 2014.
But after last night, the missing mails risen, but now some appointments
missed from may in the future.
I think, they will reappear tomorrow.
Windows client and webaccess are listing all mails and full calendar.
System is 2014 SP1 on Linux.
Any hint to force the mac client for sync? Caching mode will also miss
    the appointments.

  • Some joy

Hi everyone just had my BT Infinity line installed today and I know there are quite a few posts about dodgy engineers missing their appointments, coming late and installing incorrectly, can I just say my installation was very smooth and the engineer was acutally very kind. My initial speedtests are as expected however I cannot give a fair review until 10 days which I shall do after. Its not all doom and gloom and I just want to say thanks so far for everything and hope it continues.

    umar2131 wrote:
Now that the 10 days have passed I have to say I am very impressed with BT's service and that FTTP is definitely where the future of broadband here in the UK. The main issues I had with Virgin were ping spikes throughout the day which meant I couldn't game online however with BT it is the complete opposite and my line is solid. ( http://www.pingtest.net/result/77281334.png ) I am also very happy with my download and upload speed however there are a few issues that I would like to mention. The HH3 isn't the greatest piece of kit I've ever used but it is good enough for everyday use. My two gripes are that the settings are very limited as you can't change much and it blocks ping requests so I can't set up a thinkbroadband graph to monitor my ping 24/7. There is only one gigabit port on the back of the hub where it would've been nice to have a few however I do have a gigabit switch which I use. These two "issues" aren't the end of the world nad probably won't affect many users but everything else I am perfectly happy with and I hope it stays the same.
On a side note I find that no matter which speedtest website I use I always seem to get intermittent results, on speedtest.net none of the main servers in the UK seem to go over 150mb for me and the ping is around 40, the Amsterdam BETA server is a lot more reliable however I only hit around 250mb. On speedtester.bt.com
    this is an average result:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 151.53 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 16 Mbps-319.25 Mbps .
     Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 319.25 Mbps
With usual pings of 40ms+. However when doing manual download tests (downloading 4 large files at once, adding the results, multiplying by 8 then adding 10% for background data) I do get speeds a lot closer to 300mb and when downloading a game on steam I have managed to peak at around 36mb/sec. I know that my ping is not 40ms+ as I can ping to bbc.co.uk and youtube.com at a very constant ping of 4ms.

I do believe that my ping is very stable and very low and that my speed is around 300mb give or take, I can understand the speedtest.net servers varying in results but surely BT's own speedtester should be more accurate? As far as I'm aware there aren't any drawbacks from FTTP in terms of distance from exchange and bottlenecks so surely all speedtests and pings should have a fairly low standard deviation?
Anywho if you've made it this far thank you for reading this and I'll just mention again these aren't really complaints just questions and once again I am more than happy that I switched to BT

  • Why is iCal Time Zone Support hidden?

Last week my wife sent me an iCal appointment for 2pm but I received it as 11am. On checking her iPhone she found the same time, 11am. We had both been overseas recently. On our return we had reset our time zones on our iPhone's and laptops to Auto so no problem there. Obviously we were very puzzled.
I then checked the Apple support page and found a lot of people had the same problem with Mountain Lion although I'm running Mavericks.
What I did discover was that in iCal > Preferences> Advanced is hidden a button called Time Zone Support.
Why put it there? And why is it off by default?
We turned it on on my Mac Book and hers then switched it off then on again on our iPhones and low and behold the appointment times changed to 2pm on all our devices.
I don't understand why changing time and date settings or having them on Auto shouldn't adjust all native apps and hiding the setting in advanced preferences just seems ridiculous.
    Maybe that's just me?

I'm not sure how putting something in the user Preferences for an app hides it, but...
And why is it off by default?
I got into an argument with someone about using time zones in Calendar. He only wanted the times to show up as local times regardless of which time zone was selected and what time zone had created the event. I think he actuall missed some appointments when travelling overseas. His assistant had set up the appointments, and when he looked at them before he left, they were listed as late in the day because he was looking at his current time zone.
So, I guess that is why it is off by default.

  • 8330 Calendar does not sync back to desktop

I've been fighting this for six months, and I know I just haven't found the right place to change settings.
I'm using an 8330 with Outlook 2007; the same problem existed with Outlook 2003 before we upgraded a month ago.
    - Everything I enter on the desktop computer transfers to the 8330, no problem.
    - NOTHING I enter on the 8330 calendar transfers back to the desktop. I have checked under Options>Advanced Options>Default Services and the Calendar is set to sync with my desktop.
This constantly causes problems, and it has resulted in my missing some appointments. I have searched the forums here and the FAQ at BB and can't find any solution that works. I'd appreciate your help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

HI and welcome to the forums!
First reset the sync config on the desktop software and make sure it is setup for two way transfer.
Second make sure your email address associated with the calendar is listed in default services.
I'm sure you have done the above, but it's always best to check.
I would then suspect the device calendar, it your appointments are on outlook and on the ipd file backup from the
    device, then wipe the device calendar using this procedure;
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04950&sliceId=SAL_Pub...
Set the DM to config ONE WAY DESKTOP TO DEVICE and sync. Then add an appointment to the BB and try syncing 2 way.

  • Day view only displays 6 all-day events

Until the most recent iPhone upgrade, the day view in the calendar displayed many more untimed, all-day events. Now, it seems only to display 6. The rest of my all-day events are only visible in the list view. Is this something new Apple did on purpose, or is my iPhone acting up?

Echoing that. I thought I was the only one experiencing this. It's super annoying, and actually causing me to miss important appointments. Can anyone help? I find myself pining for the next release.

  • Exchange calendar not sync on 3.1 (iPhone 2G)

    Hi,
For some strange reason our Exchange 2007 (latest SP) does not sync the calendar on one of our 2G iPhones setup with Exchange.
Strangely, both the Address Book and the Mail app syncs perfectly.
    Anyone else experienced this?

I have the same problem since IOS 8.0.2 on an IPHONE 5 , my Exchange account updates fine on Email, as do other Email services. But the Calendar does not, I've also tried Push or Fetch but it does not seem to matter.  Gmail Calendar does not have the same problem and updates fine.
My alternative is,  within Calendar select "CALENDARS" (botom center), with al options checked , pull the screen down for a refresh and missing Exchange Appointments will apear.
I hope a permanent solution will be available soon though.

  • Synching multiple calendar entries and not displaying events properly

At my work we have Exchange 2003 and all the latest patches / service packs. We setup to synch via SSL on the device. Plus we use Outlook 2003 and 2007 in our environment. Email comes over although delayed at times and contacts, but the calendar is giving us the most issue. Here are the two problems:
    1. Synching is not fully talking to Exchange. We create a new calendar entry so that Outlook and iPhone show the event. We then delete it in Outlook and when it synch's it goes back to Outlook. We have even seen multiple events doubling up and trippling up. Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix?
    2. The calendar view is missing many appointments that I think I found a fix for in the discussion boards, but wanted to mention the two main areas we're having trouble with.
For people who use the phone in an enterprise environment, what do you feel is the best configuration to use / setup process you followed to have the least amount of issues for the iPhone and using it not trough iTunes but synching via cell network?

Open up Font Book and select all the fonts and try a "validate fonts."  You have a duplicate or corrupted font on your system.

  • Labview 8.0.1 unresponsive when editing

I've got a good-sized program that I wrote in LV 8.0.1.  It has several parallel processes for things like data acquistion, instrument control, and user interface.  The user interface VI is optional - the whole program can run without it, but almost all operator interaction is through it.  As this is an R&D project, the user interface has grown and grown.  It has 11 tabs and hundreds of controls and indicators.  I've programmed it so that it only responds to controls on the selected tab and only updates indicators on the selected tab.  This works fine when running.  It is responsive, but doesn't interfere with the more important tasks.
Unfortunately, it has gotten unwieldy in editing mode.  Most changes I make to the front panel or block diagram invokes seconds or more of delay before I can make another change.  Copying controls, adding a wire, whatever.  Saves take 10 seconds or more.  Any of these changes or saves can not-infrequently lead to a permanent hang or crash.
I don't recall seeing this in previous versions, though my user interfaces haven't generally gotten this top heavy before.  I can't test this in a previous version since I wrote it in 8 from scratch, and I don't want to bother messing with saving backwards.  (Besides, it uses 8.0 features that 7.x doesn't support.)  I have tried it on several different computers (W2K and WXP) with similar results.  So it isn't just some corruption on one computer.
So my question is:  has anyone else noticed this type of effect?  Are there any fixes?  Any known reasons?  This VI is part of a project, and I suspected that the project might include some new overhead.  But the editing problem still occurs when the VI is opened outside of the project.

There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

    Jimmie, Ben,
Thanks for your suggestions.  Unfortunately, (fortunately!), most of the problem has disappeared, for no reason I can tell.  As of this morning, the delays are an annoying 1 to 2 seconds, compared to an intolerable 10 to 20 seconds yesterday.  At this point, it is acting very smilarly to the issues described in your last two links, Jimmie.  I'm curious about the first of those two.  Could we track down the CAR on that and see how it was resolved.  It sounds like the same type of problem, but the thread ends with an NI acknowledgement of a bug but no resolution.
One other commonality with the threads you mention:  I do use a lot of type-defs.  (As for the first link, I tested some graphics settings with no apparent difference.)
Ben, I tried the Save As trick but it didn't do anything.  As for my physical memory, it's not so good.  I use a Palm clone to keep my schedule in, so I don't miss many appointments, and I don't have to remember phone numbers.  But I do tend to forget other things.
    Regards,
