3 Questions from a guy holding out with IM4

Hello,
I doubt I can be brief, but I'll try.
1. Does IM6's slow motin effect flicker after it's been put to iDVD and your watching it on the TV? 2.......... (I currently use a plug in called Sebs Slowmotin smoother and it works to get rid of this unwanted effect. It won't work in later versions of IM)
2. Does it work in IM6 to copy a timeline (music and audio clips included) from one project, create a new project and paste that entire timeline (with the music and audio clips too) into the new project?
3. IM4 is pretty quick on my Powerbook G4 867 w/ 640 Ram and a 5400 RPM drive (even in movies running 12-15 minutes long). Would moving to IM6 slow things down and make me feel like I was back on my G3 500 Pismo with IM4?

You are not missing anything, this is how it is supposed to work. You wouldn't really just want content on your tv, it's simply too vulnerable. I'd suggest you invest in an external drive, two in fact because you would want to back up the content on the first, would you not. Second, when I synced my music videos from iTunes to the Apple TV, at least half of them (mostly downloaded from YouTube) play the audio, but show no video (I don't think it's a YouTube thing, though, because other YouTube music videos play fine on the Apple TV. Any ideas?

And third, before I did the software update, the Apple TV turned off by holding down the "Pause/Play" button on the remote for a few seconds. After the update, it doesn't turn off from the remote. It does, however, seem to turn off by selecting the "Standby" mode from the Settings. Is this correct?
Sort of, it will still turn off using the prescribed combination of remote buttons but you now have to be on the main menu screen to do this.

Copy Control Question from FI guy regarding Cr Memo via VA01

Good Morning SD guys-
I need your help as my SD counterpart couldn't help me. I have an enhancement where the business would like to have automatic clearing for invoice and credit memo's via F.13. To do this, I need to understand Copy Control.
Here are the requirements/ current configuration:
Assignment field is the Sales order #
Reference field is the Purchase order #
When I view the Credit Memo under the Document flow (users create credit memo with reference to invoice via VA01): the item category is G2N. The Copy Control does not mirror what I see above. It is blank for Assignment field and reference field.
The Copy Control mirrors F2 (Invoice) LF (Delivery). Our SD consultant couldn't explain to me why this is. Is this correct? Shouldn't Copy Control mirror to that Target Sales Doc type which in this case is RK (Invoice Correct. Req CR)?
If anyone could answer why it isn't logical to me, I would appreciate it.
I don't understand this and I don't see where, other than Document flow the original invoice number is to make this automatic clearing happen.

In both cases - LF to F2 or equivalent Z- doc types- (VTFL) and CR to G2 or equivalent Z- doc types (VTFA), the header copy control setting should be:
B Sales order number for Assignment Number
and
A Purchase order number for Reference number
However for cancellation type of billing documents, the config from the document type (V) takes precedence.
Also note that reference number and the assignment number can be entered automatically in the billing document by
copying from the sales order
or
automatically determined by the system - I am guessing user exits or some FI config.

I see lots of people have the same probelm with Mac Firefox 6.0.2. It hangs or won't work on certain websites while Safari (shock) does as does Chrome. So, do I queit using firefox until you guys come out with a newer browser or do you have a fix?

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, when you print a photo in iPhoto it has a tint. I would recommend that you read this article, this article explains how to adjust the tint in a photo.

Hi all,
Ive got a couple of questions as im just starting out with Crystal.
I have a dataset returning Investors, their commitment amounts, the tax code and their contacts. My problem is that for each contact, a new row is created in the DB, the one investor will appear 4 times if they have 4 contacts. e.g.
Closing Date: 01 Sep 2007
Investor 1           £1,000,000           1234          Contact 1
Investor 1           £1,000,000           1234          Contact 2
Investor 1           £1,000,000           1234          Contact 3
Investor 1           £1,000,000           1234          Contact 4
What we need to do is get all the values on the one line, with the contact concatenated together e.g.
Closing Date: 01 Sep 2007
Investor 1           £1,000,000           1234          Contact 1, Contact 2, Contact 3 and Contact 4
Please notice that the contacts are first separated by comma's, and then for the last one it is an 'and'
How would this be done in a formula? I am currently grouping in Closing Date, but can group on investor as there are multiple investors per closing date, and im sure crystal needs to know which investor to use to concatenate the contacts.
My second question is how do I summarize the commitment values. As their are multiple rows returned for each investor (due to the contacts), it sums up the same value multiple times, even when I want it just summed once. For example:
Investor 1           £1,000,000           1234          Contact 1
Investor 1           £1,000,000           1234          Contact 2
Investor 2           £3,000,000           1234          Contact 1
Investor 3           £2,500,000           1234          Contact 1
The sum of this is currently £4,000,000, but i want it to be £3,000,000 as Investor 1 only has 1 commitment amount, not 2.
Hope all of this makes sense, if it doesnt i can clarify further.

Huzzah for lazy! You could have assigned the output of that formula to a variable, and then just displayed the variable in the group footer... saves a bit of processing time/memory I suppose, but we've all got super-quick PC's, right?
just change end of the existing formula in the group header to:
...groupcounter:=groupcounter+1;
stringvar thegrouptext:=grouptextsuffix" Closing Date";
and in the group footer have simply:
whileprintingrecords;
stringvar thegrouptext
Anyways... that last problem. Yeah, it's calculating a grand total so you can display it at the end of the report. If you just want the total for the group, place the field into the group footer, or just add in a summary/formula to calculate the minimum from the group:
minimum(,)
Actually, now I've tought for a second, if you stuck that on the end of the existing formula, that'd work - it'd add to the grand total, then display the group total. Unsuppress it if it's already suppressed!

Wait... why is this up i thought, I thought I did everything like I suppose to to succesfully switch it to me, the new owner... but now its asking for some C******@yahoo.com.... I only have @gmail.com emails and none start with a C... The guy sold me the phone because he was switching to Verizon, and I tried to call him, and now the number is disconnected... If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

Thumbnails Grayed out with Question over them

I have several thumbnails that are grayed out with a white question mark over the thumbnail which indicates that it has "lost" the original photo. However, the photo is in the Finder/Pictures and the name has not been changed.
How do I get iPhoto to "find" the photo?
Must I re-import it to iPhoto?

Are you sure it's a "?" instead of an "!" ? In any case try the three fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all options.
Fix #2
Rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be untouched for further attempts at fixing or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
Fix #3
Start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
2. Open the library package like this.
3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4. Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.

My address book and iPhone pics have become low resolution. Is there a way I can prevent this from happening when I start out with a higher resolution picture?

I guess I squeezed my entire issue into the subject line. lol When I sync my iphone to my laptop I notice that all my address book pics and iphone pics have become lower resolution, even though I started out with the resolution that I really needed to produce decenty address book printouts. I doubt I can correct the losses of resolution that have occurred but can anyone help me figure out how to prevent future losses? Thank you!

Plugins usually are installed externally to Firefox. However, you can disable them in Firefox so that Firefox does not use them.
SearchReset is supposed to automate the task of resetting certain preferences, but you still can edit them manually if necessary.

Usually it works to choose your preferred search engine from the drop-down. To remove an unwanted search engine plugin, usually the Manage Search Engines... choice at the bottom of the drop-down takes care of it.
Do either of those work?
There might be another way to hijack that search box; I think some of the other frequent responders probably are more familiar with it than I am.

Few questions on exporting out with fce 3.5 for web distribution

Hello I have been trolling here for a few months reading up on things and I know my way around a search pretty well I have gotten some of these answers from reading but id like to have my own thread so I can keep it all in one place...
First..
I run websites that need video's for surfers to be able to view.. these videos are in length from 20 min to 1 hour or longer... now I have figured out that when I render with the h.264 out sorry fce calls it export... I choose the quicktime setting of lan and it seems to be about right for what im used to in high quality from rendering out with pinnacle studio for a wmv or an mpeg.. now heres where I get confused with fce
I see there is a wmv setting to export to.. but when I do it.. it only exports a bit of it...
now these are the formats I want for video...

.mpg
I have compressor but I have no idea on the settings in there and can't find what I need
in those formats I would like to have a

med
low
as far as quality go's

This isn't something someone can decide for you. It's up to you ti make up your mind. Either will do the job. If you want to spend the time to experiment with settings to better suit your media and you know what you're doing and want to spend the money get the more expensive version. If you'll be happy to use the basic presets based on average media and file sizes then get the cheaper version.

You do the opposite of how you got them on your phone, you unsync the pics using iTunes.

Remote Desktop Connection Times Out With "Can't Connect" From One Specific Computer Only

This is an odd one... I manage several servers from this computer. This particular server, 2012 Essentials, won't allow for remote desktop connections to either the server or attached workstations. I can get into the server's remote web page but when I
attempt a remote desktop connection, it hangs on "Initiating remote connection..." and then times out with the error response that remote desktop can't connect. But... if I attempt the same connections from any other computer, I am able to get in
and utilize remote desktop. Does this mean that there is a certificate issue with the computer unable to connect and if so, how does one remedy this? Or is it some other issue? I've attempted everything within my technical ability to no avail. Any suggestions

Before going further, would you please let me know the RDC version that used in the problematic computer? Was it the same with other computers?
Please temporarily disable firewall and then check if this issue can be solved. Based on your current description, it’s hard to say the root reason of this issue.
So, I suggest that you should check relevant log files and get some clues. It will help us to narrow down and solve your issue.
