30EA3: UNLOAD. No longer able to export Excel format to clipboard

Hi,
I have a little gripe about the new unload functionality.
In SQL Dev 2, it was possible to export(unload) the datagrid to the clipboard in excel format.
In SQL Dev 3EA3, this now gives the message "Saving as Clipboard is not supported for unlaoding data that is formatted as xls".
Can somebody in the dev team explain this retrogade step?
What possible reason could you have for introducing extra steps into a developer's workflow.
Previously, if you had a target worksheet already open, all you had to do was
1. right click on datagrid
2. select export to clipboard in excel format.
3. switch to excel
4. paste into excel
Now, even if you have the target excel worksheet open, you have to
1. right click on datagrid
2. select export to excel format.
3. specify a filename, ie a file that will be created for no other purpose than the temporary export you are doing
4. switch to excel
5. open your newly created, effectively temporary, excel file
6. copy contents
7. paste contents into your target excel worksheet
It's hardly progress, is it?
Can the export to clipboard in excel format be reinstated please?

Well actually if all you want to do is copying the currently displayed data to excel you do not need the export/unload functionality at all.
Just do
1. Ctrl-A with focus in the data grid.
2. Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Shift-C if you want headers.
3. Switch to excel.
4. Ctrl-Vthe only thing that is not copied this way is the SQL you are using, but i suppose you will not need this in excel.

UnknownExportFormat when trying to export Excel format

Hi, I'm getting UnknownExportFormatException when trying to export the crystal report to Excel format. But I can export the
report to Word, PDF or RTF without any problem.
The manifest file of the CrystalReportsRuntime.jar has below information.

We export it from java servlet. But we used ReportExportFormat._MSExcel (which is constant value 2 defined in crystal report SDK) for excel export. As I looked at your code sample in JSP page, I changed the "Excel" value from 2 to 6 which is ReportExportFormat._recordToMSExcel as in the sample code
We have this code snippet to set the export options.     (No change)
             ExportOptions exportOptions = new ExportOptions();
             exportOptions.setExportFormatType(ReportExportFormat.from_int(exportType.getId()));
             exportOptions.setFormatOptions(formatOptions);
And now CRExportType enum is defined as below with value changed from 2 to 6 for Excel.
    WORD("Word",1),
    EXCEL("Excel",6),   //_recordToMSExcel; _MSExcel=2 didn't work with error UnsupportedFormatException
    RTF("RTF", 3), //_RTF
    PDF("PDF", 5); //_PDF
After the change, it did work. So I'm still not clear why _MSExcel didn't work and what's the difference between _MSExcel(2) and _recordToMSExcel (6). But I'm good for now and thanks for your help.

No longer able to supported video formats(online)

For Past 2 weeks now, I am no longer able to play an online supported 3GP, MP4 etc videos. Be youtube or any online video that is currently support by BB z3 does not play.I have rebooted the phone, checked for updates on BB world for any update related to videos but NO SUCCESS!! I remember 10.3.1.1779 was pushed by Vodafone in India sometime back.. i suggest you to go for "Security Wipe"... Do take complete backup of your device using linkPerform Security wipe and don't update your apps immediately,check if the problem is fixed, otherwise you have to reinstall the operating system.(Security wipe will fix any glitches left during last installation)..

No longer able to export in JPEG-B

I have this vexing issue that I cannot figure out. I can no longer export as JPEG-B. It has vanished from the list of available formats to export to. I have tried deleting the preferences and restarting the system. But no luck. Anyone have any suggestions. Or have a similar problem.

I don't know what version of Quicktime or OS X removed the export option, but I can no longer create .snd or System 7 .sfil audio files using the Quicktime export feature.
Any suggestions as to how I can convert any newer sound file format to this older NeXT/Sun sound file format?

I have found the solution to this issue...
1) You need to install OS 9 on your OS X "Tiger" using the OS 9 installation disc that shipped with your Mac.
2) Go to System Preferences and select Sytem/Classic.
3) Select the "Start/Stop" tab and highlight the System Folder on your boot HDD. Click the Start Button.
4) Download SoundApp 2.7.3 from http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macos/4124&vid=4134
5) Extract the SoundApp directory to "/Applications (Mac OS 9)"
6) Open SoundApp
7) Select File/Convert...
8) Find the sound file you wish to convert.
9) Set your settings for export:
Format: System Sound
Encoding: u-Law
Rate: No Change
Channels: No Change
Bits: 16-Bit
10) Click the Convert Button.
11) Save the file.
This file will now be recognized by "Expression X" (http://soundsetcentral.com/)
You can now create your own notifications for Entourage in Apple OS X "Tiger".

SSRS Drillthrough Reports functionality not working in exported Excel format

Hi All,
Recently I have made a drillthrough report in SSRS 2008R2,Its working fine only in MSBI run mode and preview mode of report designer.Going from main report to sub report and any other report through drillthrough report its work fine.
When I export these report to excel
drillthrough is not working,Only showing main report in excel there is no link showing in excel report as showing in preview mode of report
Please help me out for the same.

Based on my research, just as AntoonVansina said, drillthrogh links still be supported in SSRS 2008R2 when exporting the report in excel. Drillthrough links that appear in text boxes are rendered as Excel hyperlinks in the cell in which the text is rendered.
When clicked, the drillthrough link opens the client’s default browser and navigates to the HTML view of the target.
However, Drillthrough links are not supported in PDF rendering. The drillthrough links are not rendered as clickable links and drillthrough reports cannot connect to the target of the drillthrough.
So could you please post more details about how did you create the drillthough links, are you use Go To Report or Go To URL? What’s the expression for Go To URL and did you get some error message when you click the URL in Excel?

I run Windows 7 and fter installing update, why can I no longer able to distill pdf formats?

I run Windows 7 and use Acrobat as my default printer to store documents as pdf. After installing the update 3.6.13, I can no longer use my distiller as my default printer. How do I correct this. I have been forced to use IE.

When i buy a mac would i be able to create excel files

I am planning to switch to imac and i need to know whether i will be able to create or edit office documents without having to buy ms office or iworks sw? Does anybody knows?

You will either need to purchase Office (latest version) for Mac, or buy Numbers from the Mac App Store (€16 approx). Numbers will read and export files in Excel format - although I believe the applications are not an exact feature match (I don't use either so I'm not sure of the detail).
Perhaps someone on here more familiar with the exact detail will post more information.
Edit: The full suite of iWork apps, available from the Mac App Store is:
Pages (will read and export Word format)
Keynote (will read and export PowerPoint format)
Numbers (will read and export Excel format)
Each app is approx €16.
Or do as Niel suggests

Service pack 2 의 경우 security setting 이 강화 되어 이 같은 현상이 발생할 수 있다. 아래와 같이 조치 한다.
Client Pc 에서
1) 시작-> 실행 -> Regedit (to open the registry)
2) 다음 key 를 찾는다.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ZONE_ELEVATION\iexplore.exe
3) Value 를 '1' 에서 '0' 으로 변경한다.
4) 다음 내용도 확인 한다.
a) Windows Explorer 를 open한다.
b) Tools/Folder Options/File Types tab
c) Extension 'XLS' (or HTML) 을 선택 후 Advanced button 을 click 한다.
d) 'Confirm Open after Download' & 'Browse in same window' 을 uncheck한다.
5) Client PC 를 reboot 후 다시 확인 한다.

I realized that I can put a block in WebI and then I can pull that in excel alongside of static header, after putting the question.
My interest to know whether it is by design in XI 3.0 or it is an issue. But by the replies it seems to me like it is by design.
@Anis: I can't go for header as part of Body. Because this report is viewed in Web by many other users. I can't have separate report for Live office, it is a restriction for me. If I use the header in body, it wont look good I guess.

Not able to export all the rows into excel

I'm not able to export all the records in discoverer report to excel sheet.
There are actually 27000 records in discoverer report, when i export them to excel sheet i can see only 16000 records.
I'm using discoverer plus.

Do you have parameters on the worksheet? if so then are you selecting same as when you ran it?
What version are you using ? Plus? Viewer? Desktop?
You can export the worksheet into CSV instead of XLS and see what you get.
Also check other formats to see if this missing lines happen in all export methods or just the XLS.

HTTP 500 - Internal server error - not able to Export BI report to Excel

Hi,
We just upgraded to HFM 9.3.1.4. Unfortunately we are not able to Export BI report to Excel (in Workspace and in BI Studio). We receive the error message "HTTP 500 - Internal server error" (this worked fine in 411).
We are able to preview in PDF and HTML, but not Export to Excel. We also just restarted the services for workspace and web analysis, but still the same issue.
Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

Crystal report not able to export in EXCEL file in windows 7

Crystal Reports 2008 Missing Page Headers and Footers when Exporting Excel

After upgrading from Crystal Reports 9 to Crystal Reports 2008 we have noticed that when we export to Excel the document no longer retains the page headers and footers. After doing some reading I see that there is a property called ExportPageHeadersAndFooters that we can tap into. However, I am unable to get this to work for me. Below is my code, do you have any suggestions?
