3D PDF JavaScript Examples and Tutorials

I am having trouble finding good resources on the web for 3D PDF and Javascripting.  I am particularly interested in finding a good set of javascript examples that I can get ideas and code snippets from.  It would be even better if those examples were associated with some tutorials.  I found this site on Adobe Developer Connection:  JavaScript for Acrobat 3D.  There is a link for a zip file containing JavaScript samples but it is no longer available.  Is there somewhere else I can get this file?  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, nobody updated the link for the ZIP file when it moved servers - it's at http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/webseminars/3DFiles.zip
I also suggest going through the tutorials and videos at AUC.

    Where can i find examples source files of the "SAP E-Commerce 5.0 - Examples and Tutorials (Dev./Ext.) " Guide ?
    Thanks & Regards

    You can get the JAVA files source code from the <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server1\apps\sap.com\crm~b2b directory, you should be able to find the src.zip file which contains the source code for the Action & Business object files.
    You can access the JSP files from the <drive>\usr\sap\CD5\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server1\apps\sap.com\crm~b2b\servlet_jsp\b2b\root
    OR
    You can import through NWDI into your NWDS.
    Let me know if you need further details.

  • MDO examples and tutorials.

    Hi all,
    Can you please point me where can i find examples and tutorials on MII MDO.
    Even if i can get the steps to create a simple MDO and how to use it in that in real time would be great.
    i tried in help.sap.com site, but could not find examples.
    any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    i should have looked around a bit first before i jumped the

  • Source of PDF SDK examples and documentation.

    I am creating PDF documents from scratch using the Adobe PDF SDK using the "Acrobat and PDF Library API Reference" but find it's lack of examples and detail frustrating.  Is there any addition documentation or third-party books that would be helpful?

    It appears most of the examples relate to creating plugins rather generating new PDF as I am doing.  For example I also wish the use the PDEPatternCreate library function.  A text search of the V8 and V9 SDK reveals only a few references in header files.  No actual examples on how to construct the raw CosObjP which I assume must be based on the format from the PDF language specification.  I can't see any practical examples on how to create such objects.  I always find example code is a great learning tool because you can see functions and structures used in context with each other and thus more easily understand how they fit together.

  • Logon/security examples and tutorials and missing one

    So far, I have found examples on Sun's site for:
    DB based security
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/techart/signon_app.html
    JAAS security (bottom right of screen)
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/ea/jsc2/learning/tutorials/index.html
    But suprisingly, I can not find any examples/tutorials on using container-based security (such as Tomcat/J2EE/Sun's own App Server).
    To be concise, I do not see how to use web.xml's <security-constraint> tags via BASIC or FORM auth for security.
    Does anyone have any more links to be added to this thread, hopefully including the infamous missing j_security_check login with JSF?
    Thanky,
    -D

    Hi,
    My case:
    My login.jsp uses <html:form action="/postLogin" method="post"> and is inturn redirected to LoginAction action class. In the execute method of this class, after a bunch of statements, I have
    return new ActionForward("j_security_check");
    My web.xml looks something like -
    <form-login-config>
    <form-login-page>/login.do</form-login-page>
    <form-error-page>/denied.do</form-error-page>
    </form-login-config>
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    What happens now is that when I try to access http://localhost:8080/..../login.do, it takes me to index.jsp by default.
    My problem is, I have a third field (dropdown) in the login page - depending on which my landing page must change. How can I do this (I want to retain the container based authentication)? Please reply as I have been working on this for quite sometime without a solution :(
    Thanks in adv

  • Coding with javascript in EDGE tutorials/samples from start to finish

    Hi
    I realize the forum is good sourc for javascript tips. But for us un-whiz kids that take advantage of all the gifts you geniuses at Adobe create, could there be a javascripting for Edge workshop? Coding from start to finish. If one does not know how to implement the code, that ONE is at a loss. I know that I could take EDge and fly with it visually but when it comes to the level of interactivity and animation, Istumble and come to an abrupt stop.
    Is the javascript workshop/tutorials a posibilty?
    Thanks so much,
    Angelique

    Hi Angelique!
    I am in something of the same boat as You. I have found this forum to be very informative & the knowledgeable folks here are very generous with their time... but the information is all over the place and lacks the collimated immediacy of a thorough (indexed!) manual. Ditto the very helpful Animate videos & tutorials on the Internet which, while valuable, are often time consumming to track down specific information.
    When learning a new discipline I do best with cogent printed manuals featuring a methodical presentation - which are also a snap to reference. Along these lines two books have caught my eye and I will be ordering... they might be of interest to You:
    Adobe Edge Animate: The Missing Manual by Chris Grover (O'Reilly Media) - Pages: 306
    Print: $24.99; e-Book: $19.99 (both for $27.49)
    http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920027553.do
    The Missing Manual series has always proved a provident guide for what ever program I was seeking to learn. This book looks like it follows suit. In the example on-line files I perused Chris struck me as an elegant scripter.
    Learning Adobe Edge Animate by Joseph Labrecque (Packt) - Pages: 368
    Print (eBook included in price) $44.99; eBook only $22.94
    http://www.packtpub.com/learning-to-create-engaging-motion-rich-interactivity-with-adobe-e dge/book
    Joseph pulls a few shifts on Adobe TV's Animate tutorials & is excerpted in the edge_animate_reference.pdf. I like how he writes (and~or has a great editor)... concise explanations.
    These books appear to offer info on a plethora of topics with valuable Javascript examples. Though no doubt there will be considerable overlap of subject matter I think these two books feature enough different material to make both worth purchasing.

  • Get Javascript values and use them in a servlet?

    Hey
    I have a HTML which has Javascript scripts which I have to get values from (a array to be exact) and pass them to a servlet so I can process the information in a certain way. I cant seem to find a way to do this properly as the servlet is server side and Javascript is client side. How can I implement this?
    Using a quick example example I have
    C:/index.html
    C:/js/script.js
    Index.html contains:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="js/script.js">
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    a href="javascript:void(0);" id="add"><img src="images/menunew.png" alt="plus" border="0" />
    /a>
    </body>
    </html>
    Script.js contains:
    var Script = Class.create({
    a:4,
    b:5,
    add: function(){
    return (this.a + this.b);
    (Ignore syntaxis errors as this is a quick example I wrote up just to see if you can give me a practical example on how to read it.)
    How can from a Java servlet access a and b from the script.js file (which contains a class named Script) and also access the function add which returns that value?
    Thank you for the help

    1: Yes, it seems like the logically answer but Im not too up on AJAX and even less on mixing it up with servlets. Do you mind giving me a simple add (function) sample or something similar?You are looking at it the wrong way. What you actually want to do is to have the browser send a request (which somehow contains that Javascript data) to a URL which causes the servlet to receive the data. There's no "mixing it up" going on there. The client and the server are entirely separate.
    And since that request would be an HTTP request, it's just text. There's no concept in HTTP of transmitting objects, whether they be Javascript objects or Java objects. Anything you want to transmit has to be converted into text by the sender and converted back into objects by the receiver.
    So there's no such thing as "a simple add function". You're going to have to stop thinking in that way and start thinking of client-server systems in the way they actually are.The thing is I want to start simple to grab a simple concept....
    Im trying a AJAX route and I have the following:
    /index.html
    /js/Adding.js
    Index contains:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>

    </head>
    <body>
    <select name="num1">
    <option value="1">1</option>
    <option value="2">2</option>
    <option value="3">3</option>
    <option value="4">4</option>
    </select>
    <select name="num2">
    <option value="5">5</option>
    <option value="6">6</option>
    <option value="7">7</option>
    <option value="8">8</option>
    </select>
    <form method="get" name="adding">
    Do
    <span id="res"></span>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    Adding.js contains
    var Adding = Class.create({
    x: null,
    y: null,
    add: function()
         var xmlHttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
         var value1 = document.getElementById("num1").value;
    var value2 = document.getElementById("num2").value;
         xmlHttp.open("GET", "index.html", false);
         xmlHttp.send(value1 + value2);
         var result = document.getElementById("res");
         result.innerHTML = xmlHttp.responseText;
    This shows 2 comboboxes full of numbers and link saying "Do" which calls the javascript function and adds the two numbers in the comboboxs and shows them on the screen without refreshing the page. This does not work and I would like this to work before I continue onto the bigger picture.

  • PDF Report generation and email it from a DB trigger

    Dear all
    Is it possible to run a report in PDF format ad email it to some clients after a specific envent through Database Trigger. For example whenever a client makes an entry into order entry table (through entry form), a trigger should execute on Orders table, this trigger should execute or generate a PDF formatted report and finally mail it to Sales team?
    I'm using Oracle Database 10g. Rel.2 on Windows-XP.

    kamranpathan wrote:

    A trigger is fired when? During the transaction. The transaction still is not committed and can be rolled back. So if you start doing notifications and what not in the trigger, and the transaction is rolled back, then that transaction never happened. But your notification code did. And the users have been informed incorrectly - about something that did not happen.
    The same trigger can also be fired in the same transaction for the same row - more than once. This can happen in specific circumstances in Oracle, where basically Oracle itself does an undo of the transaction (trigger already fired) and then redo that transaction (trigger fire again).
    So in such a case, your trigger will generate two notifications from the same trigger for the same event. Inside a transaction that still could be rolled back by the session owner.
    The correct approach is not to perform the action in the trigger. It is to queue the action to be executed when the transaction is committed.
    For example, the trigger is on the PRODUCTS table. When a new product is added, a notification needs to be send to customers that have selected to be informed of new product releases.
    The first step is to write a package that performs this notification. The procedure that drives the notification processing, gets a product identifier as input and does the checks and notification.
    After this package has been tested, it is implemented indirectly via a trigger on the PRODUCTS table. Instead of the trigger directly calling this package, the trigger needs to queue an action that will execute the notification package when the transaction is committed.
    This can be done using DBMS_JOB. In the trigger, a job is submitted to execute that notification package for the current product ID. The job submission is part of the existing transaction. If the transaction is rolled back, so is the job and it is removed from the job queue. If the transaction is committed, the job is also committed to the job queue and executed.

  • Javascript Example to Read Variable Value  in WAD 7.0

    Hi,
    I am looking for a JavaScript example of how to read the value of a variable in the 7.0 WAD.  If anyone has done this and would like to share that would appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mel

    I'm afraid I haven't made my question understood clearly.
    What I am looking for is a method to get the value of variable inside excel (e.g. put it into a cell / range of a worksheet, so that we can reference it and use it as an input for planning function execution).
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Exporting pdfs to word and excel file formats  and translating

    Hello, I am new to this forum and came here because I am a professional translator. Although we should be given documents in their original file format, in the real world translators have to convert pdfs such as manuals or annual reports into word or excel files. Given the fact we often work for agencies, and/or do not work directly with the people who created the original files inthe first place, with the best will in the world we normally have to make do with converting the pdf file, or lose the job.
    I would like advice on the best way to learn more about  pdf to word and excel conversion and ways of keeping formatting when it is helpful and removing what is not.
    The general problem is (well the problem is really ignorance on my part!) of course getting the "look and feel" similar in the converted document and knowing more about manipulating the formating and elements which get converted.
    Any help or pointers to online tutorials whether multimedia or text much appreciated.
    David Hardisty (david1610)

    Thank you Lori, this is so clear! I am a teacher as well and there are clear presentations and wonderfully clear presentations and this is in the latter category.
    A tiny suggestion. You would not believe how many pdf files exported to word I have received that are Portuguese content and the sender has not set the language to Portuguese! So in your text entry you might want to mention the language setting. I know it is obvious, but as we know sometimes we cannot see the obvious!
    I will need to look far more carefully at the final things in your video.
    Are there any special considerations for exporting pdf files as Excel? My original doubt was I had to translate some accounting documents. 95% of the document was numbers which did not changing (except for commas to periods and vice versa due to different separator conventions). I did not now how to just select e.g. the vertical column with text. I will go back and try with this suggestion because in this case the look and feel of the numbers was important and the precise fonts etc. seemed to cause problems. But now I am getting out of my depth!
    Thank you again!

  • Launch PDF from HTML and execute search

    Is it possible using JavaScript in an HTML doc to launch a PDF and execute a search.query with a passed-in search parameter? TIA

    Hello, George, thanks for following up.  I went into Advanced->Document Processing->Document JavaScripts and put the code at the top of the file outside of the dummy function declaration I had to insert to activate the edit button.  It looks like this:
    // Split the file path into an array
    var aPath = this.path.split("/");
    // Remove the last element, which is the file name
    aPath.pop();
    // Join the path elements back together and add the index file
    var cIdxPath = aPath.join("/") + "/Support Documents/SupDocs.pdx";
    search.query ("Enhanced Tactical Automated Security System (eTASS)", "Index", cIdxPath);
    function Search()
    It runs fine when I launch the PDF directly into the reader by double-clicking in file explorer in the folder above "Support Documents".  When I load the PDF from an HTML file in the same folder, however, the script does not run.  I set the reader preferences to force loading in the reader even when launched from a browser, and the script still will not execute.  I tried adding a button to the PDF and attaching the search script to it.  Again, it runs when launching directly but not from the HTML document.  Otherwise, the PDF is empty, and I'm using a relative URL and JS to load it from the HTML doc, such as:
    document.location = "mySearch.PDF"
    or
    window.open("mySearch.PDF", "searchwin");
    Neither one works.  This product has to run from a CD-ROM, so I haven't bothered to test it via http service.  Any suggestions?  Thanks again!

  • Javascript API and Player Control

    Spent hours the last few days digging through the forums, documentation, and WIKI to see if I could find some answers.  Unofrtunately, thus far, the data is sparse.  Can somebody direct me to some documentation on the Javascript API and what events ara available to control the player?  For example, how do I send the player an event to "mute" the volume?  Or, how do I send the player an event to "seek" to a point in time in the video?  Or, how do I "listen" for a point in time in the video and then use javascript to do something else (like play another clip).

  • What is interface?what is EDI? take one example and explain it?

    what is interface?what is EDI? take one example and explain it?

    Hi,
    Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a set of standards for structuring information to be electronically exchanged between and within businesses, organizations, government entities and other groups. The standards describe structures that emulate documents, for example purchase orders to automate purchasing. The term EDI is also used to refer to the implementation and operation of systems and processes for creating, transmitting, and receiving EDI documents.
    Despite being relatively unheralded, in this era of technologies such as XML services, the Internet and the World Wide Web, EDI is still the data format used by the vast majority of electronic commerce transactions in the world.
    EDI testing is to test the EDI transmissions and validate the accuracy and consistency of data mapping between the sender, translator/middleware (if any) and receiver systems.

  • Does Preview support PDF JavaScript?

    Due to a PDF vulnerability, various security experts are suggesting turning off JavaScript in Adobe Reader. I don't see any way to do this in Preview. Does this mean that Preview does not support PDF JavaScript?

    From this link:
    -=-=-=-
    "There are exceptions. Preview can't open protected PDF files, and it may not render all PDF documents properly. The PDF file format has become extremely complex over the years, including support for JavaScript, embedded Flash content, and other advanced options. Acrobat includes far more extensive controls and content capabilities than simply printing to PDF, especially if you need to manage image resolutions and formats. Of course, this complexity in Reader and Acrobat is where a lot of these security problems come from in the first place.
    Since there is no risk unless you open a malicious file with Reader or Acrobat, one of the best steps you can take to limit the chances of future issues (aside from staying up to date with patches) is to set Preview as your default reader. Not that Preview is perfect, but we have yet to see it face the same number of zero day vulnerabilities or exploits."
