3rd Party SIP phone to CUCM via SIP Proxy

Hi all,
This is the scenario i'm currently working on :
3rd party SIP phone <--> Internet <--> SIP Proxy <--> LAN <--> CUCM
The SIP proxy basically terminates everything (REGISTER, INVITE, etc), including the RTP stream.
I can register the 3rd party SIP phone to CUCM and in CUCM and  i can see SIP Proxy IP Address as the registered address of the phone.
Calls from the 3rd party SIP phone to internal Cisco or internal 3rd party SIP phone and vice versa work like charm.
The only (fatal) problem is i can only register 1 3rd party SIP phone to CUCM via this SIP proxy.
Since this SIP Proxy always use its internal IP Address and port 5060 (TCP) as its source of registration, CUCM sees multiple registrations for multiple extensions (users) come from a single IP and port, and rejects the second registration request.
It seems that CUCM binds a digest user to an IP address and port, therefore cannot accept multiple registrations from a single IP and port.
Can anyone clarify this?  Or is there any way around this?
I'm using CUCM 8.6.2 and CUCM 9.X (both do not work).
Regards,
Christian

This is most likely because of the following...
Because third-party SIP phones do not send a MAC address, they must identify themselves by using digest authentication.
The REGISTER message includes the following header:
Authorization: Digest username="xxxxxxxxxx",realm="ccmsipline",nonce="GBauADss2qoWr6k9y3hGGVDAqnLfoLk5",uri="sip:172.18.197.224",algorithm=MD5,response="126c0643a4923359ab59d4f53494552e"
The username, xxxxxxxxxxx, must match an end user that is configured in the End User Configuration window of Cisco Unified CallManager Administration. The administrator configures the SIP third-party phone with the user; for example, swhite, in the Digest User field of Phone Configuration window.

  • CP-6921-C-K9 as SIP phone on CUCM 6?

Can a CP-6921-C-K9 phone be used as a third party SIP device on CUCM 6?
We will be upgrading soon to a new version of CUCM where 6921 would be supported but for now can we get them to work on CUCM 6 as SIP phones?
    Regards.

It looks like the SIP support is even later in the 7.1.x line.  No documented operation as 3rd party SIP that I can find.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/unified-ip-phone-6921/data_sheet_c78-541534.html
The phones are supported in Cisco Unified Communications Manager and  Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition Versions 7.1.2 and  later using Skinny Client Control Protocol (SCCP) or SIP with Cisco  Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unified Communications Manager  Business Edition Versions 7.1.5 and later.

  • 3rd party earbuds/phones not working with new Nano

So, I've got a new Nano ( a couple months old at this point ), and the earbuds that came with it got accidently trashed.
No worries, because I've got several other sets of earbuds / headphones kicking around.
The problem is that with all of them, the sound keeps cutting out / playback stops.  I'm fairly certain that this is the iPod detecting "no headphones" and stopping playback.
It happens whenever the plug flexes; it's as if the jack briefly loses contact with the internal connectors.
Since I usually keep my iPod in my pocket, this happens quite often.
I don't know whether the new Apple earbuds (with volume control/mic) would react the same way; I won't buy them, because I can't have them at work (anything with a microphone is banned).
    Anyone have thoughts / help?
    Thanks!

    Ok, more follow-up.
Roommate had a pair of iPod buds that he'd never used, and let me have them.
There are marked differences between the iPod 3.5 mm jack and a "standard" 3.5 mm jack.
The standard 3.5 mm jack has three sections, tip, middle, and call it 'core'.
The iPod jack has 4 sections, tip, middle, core 1 and core 2.
The seperator for each of the common sections (tip to middle/middle to core(core1)) are at the same place.
I suspect that the "core 2" is how the the iPod/iPad/iPhone uses the microphone.
No big deal, except I can't have a microphone, at all, period, at work.  Absolutely forbidden (if I want to keep my job).
Breaking out the micrometer (yes, I own a micrometer), it looks as though the iPod jack is a lot closer to the 3.5mm tolerance, than the standard one, which may be the issue.  That is, the core1/core2 sections are 3.5mm exactly, whereas the 3rd party jack is 3.46mm.  I wouldn't think that would make enough of a difference, but apparently it does.
So, I'm back to my starting point:
Is there an "approved for iPod" set of headphones that doesn't have a microphone built in?

  • What about 3rd party cloud storage file access via bridge?

First of all, lets all agree to get some training to the help chat lines.  Inder was one I was chatting with and as I was typing another challenging question to the just down stupid answer I got being treated as an idiot, he or she cut me off, closed the chat and stated thank you for using Adobe chat support.  I guess the stats on how fast you deal with an issue is far more important than proving a viable service Adobe.  YES I AM F!@#$%G MAD.
So I found out that Bridge went out of their way in development  to stop me from organizing and or just opening files from DropBox. All I wanted to do was conveniently open a JPG in RAW for some preliminary editing before bring the file into Photoshop CC. A feature that Adobe has been ranting and bragging about for a while.  When I tried this GREAT feature in Bridge as it were, I could not even open the shortcut to the folders where I store my photos in the cloud DropBox. When I persisted, Bridge eventually crashed.  I am sure that was some easy code to put in there to teach me a lesson for not buying Adobe cloud storage.
So, after had spending 1000s and 1000s of dollars on Adobe products over the last 20 + years, I get treated as an idiot, an undereducated consumer, no respect and have to adhere to timeline restraints to meet a undereducated / under-trained so called specialist stats she he she won't get reprimanded or loose their job.
So here is my knowledge to the issue at hand.  I can not navigate Internet Based Cloud services without having to download them to my desktop first using Bridge CC.  Thus rendering this app useless when most if not all project files are on the cloud.  (Using the cloud makes so much sense in my case as a collaborator, project lead - manager, teacher in the arts of multimedia and a professional photographer).
Seems like there is no solution from Adobe, so my question to the forum is, what apps are you using to get around this issue.  Adobe doesn't deserve my loyalty anymore and must EARN IT BACK! Third party solutions free or otherwise is welcomed.

  • 3rd Party Ear Phones Don't Work With iPhone 4

V-Moda Vibe Duo Earbud Headset, I have two differnt sets and both Will Not work with the new iPhone 4.
It works with previous iPhones but not this one. You can hear but not be heard.
    Any solutions?

I have the same issue with V Moda headphones as well. I tested them on two iPhone 4s, a 3GS and a 3G. The work on the 3G and the 3GS but not on either of the iPhone 4.
Throught the power of Google, I discovered the following:
"The Vibe Duos and Vibe II are not compatible with the iPhone 4 for mic/button functionality. The iPhone 4 requires headphones with a specific chip inside of them to work with all button functionality properly. Our Remix headphones are fully compatible and we have an upgrade options available. If you are interested in this upgrade, please return your headphones to us with the attached Upgrade chart filled out.

  • CUCM: Third Party SIP Phone "Caller ID" is not displaying for outgoing calls

    Hi Team,
    we are running CUCM 9.1(2a),
we have integrated Third Party SIP Phone(Avaya 1230 SIP Phone) with CUCM,
Issue: Third Party SIP Phone "Caller ID" is not displaying for outgoing calls, we are able to see only the dailed Number,
When "A" calls to "B", "A" can see only the dailed number of "B" but not the "Caller ID"
    Regards
    Ananthakumar

Are A and B both Avaya phones?
So it looks like you're not seeing the alerting name/connected name getting updated then?  Do you have alerting names configured on the directory numbers?  Might need to take a look at the SIP messaging to see if the alerting name/connected name is being sent to the Avaya phones and maybe they just aren't displaying it.  Might just be something that needs to be tweaked in the 46xxsettings.txt file.

  • CUCM 8.6 Dropped call transfers involving SIP phones

    Hi All,
I am a developer who has been tasked with figuring out why call transfers are being dropped by Cisco CUCM when the original call comes from a SIP phone.  This scenario works:
Cisco phone calls another Cisco phone, which transfers the original call to a SIP phone
    These scenarios do not work:
SIP phone calls Cisco phone, which transfers the original call to another Cisco phone
SIP phone calls Cisco phone, which transfers the original call to another SIP phone
I have researched the Call Manager traces to the best of my ability, and I see some info in there that could potentially point to the source of the problem.  I am just unable to understand what the trace means:
    10:23:08.672 |//SIP/SIPCdpc(1,74,2342)/ci=24377698/ccbId=175645/scbId=0/active_CcDisconnReq: ccDisconnReq.onBehalfOf=Media : ccDisconnReq.s.sv=2 : ccDisconnReq.c.cv=47 |1,100,63,1.93259^10.10.10.85^*

I have been wondering whether this could be a codec issue, however the SIP phones we are using are configured with the following codecs:
    G711U
    G711A
    G722
    ILBC
    GSM
and our SIP software is  also set to accept the first codec offered by the remote side.  It seems from the SIP client logs that G722 is being used as the codec to communicate with the Cisco phones, but perhaps I'm misinterpreting.
I have attached a CUCM trace of a call from a SIP phone (ext. 491) to a Cisco handset (ext. 170) where the Cisco handset attempts to transfer the call to another SIP phone (ext. 492).  The trace snippet shown above is from this log.
I would really appreciate it if someone more experienced with VoIP/SIP/CUCM could take a look and offer any ideas on what the issue might be, and also how we might be able to address it.  I can try to provide more info about our CUCM configuration if needed.
    Thanks in advance!

Leslie, so here is what I found from the traces....
To understand the difference we need to understand how cucm performs call transfers from a sccp signalling point and a sip signalling point
    SCCP
When the transfer key is pressed
    1. CUCM sends a CloseReceiveChannel and StopMediaTransmission to the IP phone involved in active media (referenced by the callids)
NB, here CUCM updates the call state on the phone to a call state of 8 which is "Hold"
2.CUCM tells the held party to listen MOH from MOH server
3.CUCM establishes newcall leg with the intended transfered destination..Once this call is connected
4.CUCM receives a new Transfer instruction from the transferring phone to connect the held party
5..CUCM sends a CloseReceiveChannel between the held phone and MOH server (to tear down the media)
    6. Next CUCM sends a CloseReceiveChannel and StopMediaTransmission to the transfering party & transfered party to remove Xferring party from call
    7. finally CUCM sends OpenReceiveChannel between the original called party and the transfered party..and call is done
For SIP signalling. when the first transfer key is pressed
    1. CUCM sends invite (re-invite) with an inactive SDP (a=inactive) to indicate a break in media path
    2. CUCM sends a Delayed offer to insert MOH or to resume Media stream
NB: CUCM expects a sendrecv offer with SDP to the DO. (NB:if cucm gets an inactive offer SDP in the 200 OK instead of providing a send-recv offer SDP, the media path remains in an inactive state and causes calls to dropcall will drop),CUCM sends an ACK with sendonly to the 200 OK
3.CUCM establishes newcall leg with the intended transfered destination..Once this call is connected
4.CUCM receives a new Transfer instruction from the transferring phone to connect the held party
    5. Next CUCM sends a re-invite with an inactive SDP to indicate a break in media path to MOH (in attempt to complete transfer)
6.Next CUCM sends an inactive SDP to indicate a break in media path between transfering party & transfered party to remove Xferring party from call
    7. Next CUCM sends a DO re-invite to connect the transfered party. The far end then sends 200 OK with the required SDP to connect the call
Now having explained all of these, we need to look at where the call is failing for SIP-----SCCP----SIP calls without MTP
lets look at succesful SCCP-----SCCP-----SIP without MTP
    Point 4 above
++++++++Extension 170 presses the transfer button to connect the two calls (Callid=24378483)+++++++++++++

So this is the root cause of the problem. Your SIP phone does not know how to respond to multiple media break between it and the MOH server.
The difference between this and the succesful SCCP-SIP--SCCP, is that the held party was a sccp phone, hence the sip phone only has to process one a=inactive SDP message, where as in the SIP-SCCP-SIP, the help party was sip, so the sip phone has to process two a=inactive SDP messages
Now what is the difference when MTP is involved! A Big difference. MTP stays in the media path. So there is never a break in media and no inactive SDP attribute is sent. The flow looks like below:
for the initial call...The SIP phone sends its media to MTP and likewise the SCCP phone
    SIP------Media------MTP------------Media-------SCCP Phone
When the new destination is dialled and transfer is commited,
    SIP-------------media----MTP--------media---------MTP
The final invoite sent to connect 492 and 491 has MTP as the IP address to connect Media to.
    ++++++++Ivite to 492 ++++++++++++++

Wao! That was a long one isnt it...It was fun too.
So now you can look at your sip phones and see if they can accept two inactive sdp messages within the same call. That way you can remove MTP. otherwise you will have MTP involved in every single call involving a sip phone, even if they do not involve transfers

  • Add third party SIP Phone to CCM 5

'm not able to register this SIP Phone to the CCM5.0. I have device license that cater all IP Phone models.(LIC-CM-DL-100=)
I got error message " Login Forbidden" "timeout" in the IP Phone.
In the CCM, I got this message in Phone COnfig Window
    Registration: Rejected.
Can you explain on how to register this 3rd party IP phone to CCM?
Is it CCM able to support SIP Phone?

    Hi,
This is most likely because of the following...
Because third-party SIP phones do not send a MAC address, they must identify themselves by using digest authentication.
The REGISTER message includes the following header:
    Authorization: Digest username="swhite",realm="ccmsipline",nonce="GBauADss2qoWr6k9y3hGGVDAqnLfoLk5",uri="sip:172.18.197.224",algorithm=MD5,response="126c0643a4923359ab59d4f53494552e"
The username, swhite, must match an end user that is configured in the End User Configuration window of Cisco Unified CallManager Administration. The administrator configures the SIP third-party phone with the user; for example, swhite, in the Digest User field of Phone Configuration window.
    See the following document.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/5_1_3/ccmcfg/b09sip3p.html
Hope this helps, if so please rate.

  • MOH for third party sip phones

    Hello ,
    I using CUCM version 9.1.1.2000-5  .
Does this version support MOH for third party sip phones ?
    Thank you

    Hi,
    I couldn't found better piece of information which list all cases how MoH is implemented for various terminals and hence thought of testing the same. My observations;
SCCP phone -> Hold -> SIP Phone -> MoH plays to SIP phone
    SIP Phone -> Hold -> SCCP phone - > Doesn't play MoH
SIP Phone -> Hold -> SIP phone -> Doesn't play MoH
Please note that I have checked with both Xlite and 3CX, results are same.
I have verified in wireshark also,  call manager is not sending RTP packets to held party when call is hold by third party SIP phone.
    Checked in CUCM 9.1
    Thanks

  • Initiate MeetMe conference from a 3rd party phone

    Hello all,
We have integrated a 3 party SIP phones with CCM 7.1.5. Only 3 party SIP phones and we need use conferences.
We must initiate the meetme conference from any of these phones. How can we do this?
How can we use the MeetMe Service URI : x-cisco-serviceuri-meetme in a 3 party SIP phones?
    Regards,

    Hi Wayne,
It appears that this option is not available natively for 3rd party SIP phones in CUCM yet. Meetme conference can only be initiated through the use of Meetme softkey or Programmable Line Keys (PLKs).

  • App that can do direct SIP phone communication on...

I was wondering if there were any S60 SIP phones available for direct sip phone to sip phone communication without the use of a proxy service, such a skype.
Currently I haven't found ab application that can call another SIP phone on my local network.

    @grschinon:
Several hits on conversations.nokia.com, but the best explanation I found, which is more in line with what I read in the past, is on this page, posted 2009-Aug-13:
"I feel that the whole SIP client story is one of those (no flames, please). Nokia took out the client expecting IT departments and independent developers to create a better SIP client. Sure, there are VoIP clients, which cover the majority of folks. But the folks who want a proper SIP client on their phone ended up not having any developer make anything for them.
Usually, independent developers drive innovations in a platform, whether it be Windows or Symbian or whatnot. In the case of SIP, when Nokia built a phone, with all the foundation needed for SIP, no one came – no Cisco, no IBM, no one."
A rewrite of the underlying SIP stack shouldn't cause Nokia to pull out the front-end client.  If you think about it, a SIP client would be very useful during the SIP stack rewrite for testing and validation (in addition to the unit tests, I'm sure).
In any case, I guess I was looking for something officially stated by Nokia (as you suggested) rather than blogs, unless they are backed by sources.

  • RFC destination error in posting 3rd party payment in 4.7 FI system

    Hi,
We are running in to a problem when we are processing a payment via transaction F110S in our R/3 4.7 system for Financials. We are integrating our Financial system with ECC6.0 for HCM. We receive 3rd party invoice from HCM successfully via ALE and post it in 4.7 system. When we try to process payment against this invoice, apparently 4.7 system is trying to communicate with ECC 6.0 system and issuing an error and the payment processing gets cancelled. It generates a clearing document with out a check.
The error says "An RFC destination could not be specified for the logical system HD1CLNT014
        Message no. B1550
    Diagnosis
An RFC destination should be specified for the logical system
HD1CLNT014. This could not be done in this case. HD1CLNT014 is not your
local logical system and this system is not included in the relevant
        Customizing tables.
    Procedure
        Check:
            -   RFC destination
               -Port definition
-oubound partner profile of message type SYNCH for this logical system
We checked our configuration for all Logical system and RFC destination and everything seems fine.
Any help in this regard is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kesav

    Hi David,
Did you check below is set-up correctly.
    - Use transaction SM59 to create an RFC destinations for the remote system.
    - Use transaction BD54 to create the logical system.
    - Use transaction BD97 to link the RFC destination created in SM59 with the logical system created in BD54.
Also, check entries in TBLSYSDEST is  filled with correct system name HPQCLNT210. Generally this error occurs when system name is incorrect in TBLSYSDEST.
    Thanks,
    Ameet

  • Pricing conditions for the articles are getting triggered one day before the actual activation date to 3rd party systems through job WPMU.

    Hi SAP Guru´s,
Currently we are sending the pricing, promotions & article master data delta load to 3rd party system from SAP ECC via SAP XI through IDOCS using daily scheduled batch jobs WPMU. IDOC segment - WP_PLU.
Here the issue is the promotion & pricing data are sent to 3rd party system one day before the actual start date.
Eg: Promotion 123456 which has start date as 15/05/2014 & ending on 30/05/2014 & was created & activated on 13/05/2014.
This promotion 123456 is getting triggered from SAP ECC through batch job on 14/05/2014 morning & 3rd party system receives the data on 14/05/2014 & the promotion are getting activated at 3rd party system end on 14/05/2014 itself which actually gets active from 15/05/2014.
Same in the case for Standard Pricing data which needs to be active from 31/05/2014 once the promotion 123456 ends on 30/05/2014.
The standard pricing data gets triggered from SAP ECC on 30/05/2014 through batch job & reaching 3rd party system on 30/05/2014 & getting activate on 30/05/2014 itself.
This creates more issues at the store end as well as affecting business.
We checked at 3rd party system end & they replied that their system considers the updated time stamp & date to activate the prices & it does not considers the actual active from & active to date. They need the data to be sent from SAP ECC on the effective date of the pricing & promotions.
Can any one help me how to change the pricing conditions beign triggered through batch job in SAP ECC based on the actual promotion & pricing conditons start date or is there any other process to trigger the data through the batch job on the actual promotion & pricing data activation date.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    P.P.Shankar

    Hello Shankar,
Change the lead time in the POS Outbound Profile. You can't put less than 2 days there so data for today and tomorrow will be transferred which also means you need to adjust your batch timing accordingly.
Sales and Distribution -> POS Interface -> Outbound -> Maintain Profile for POS Outbound.
See if it helps. The best option would still be that the 3rd part system considers the activtion date.
    Kind Regards
    Kaizad

  • Paging Third Party SIP Phones connected to CUCM

Current SetUp: CUCM - Cisco 3925, Two MCS 7816 (Call Control Server) and One MCS 7825 (Voice mail server)
We have third party SIP phones configured in auto answer mode. These phones are used to make live announcements.
    To Do:
There are approximately 80 phones in the system and the requirement is to select any combination of these phones to make Public announcement (or Paging).
Is there an application that enables us to select any combination of phones on the fly to do paging? How can we select a mp3 file to play on a phone in an auto answer mode?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sid

There's nothing built into call manager to do this.  You could investigate using the Cisco Unified Application Environment (CUAE) and write a script to do this, or there are some 3rd party applications that might work for you such as Berbee's Informacast.

  • Third Party Phone over SIP Trunk with CUCM 9.x

    Hi all,
I have a problem where my Third Party SIP phones wont go over the SIP trunk configured in my CUCM 9.x cluster. My Cisco phones work fine and goes out the trunk. I have noticed a distinct difference in wireshark with the invite packets from Third Party SIP phones and the Cisco ones.
I have configured the SIP trunk in CUCM with the following route pattern (60.!#)and configured it with associated group and list. Heres the differense between the invite packets from Cisco and Third Party phones.
    Cisco Phone: INVITE sip.60xxxx%23@ipadress
Third Party SIP Phone:  INVITE sip:[email protected]
It seems the Cisco phones gets some extra configured the Third Party ones dont...
Thanks in advance for any help.
    //Per

    Thanks for the answer
Yeah i have DNS configured and i have the trunk pointed to a domain destination SRV record and like i said it works fine when calling from a Cisco phone. I tried changing the domain to an ip address but same result. I also changed the Plycom phone from being registered towards the domain of CUCM to an IP adress of CUCM and then the SIP INVITE messages in wireshark began to look kinda the same expet for the "%23" section but it still dont work.
When i look at the Real Time Data in RTMT the orig and final called from the cisco phone has stripped the 60 and forwared the rest of the number towards the correct domain for the SIP trunk.
When looking at the data from the Polycom phone the orig and final called data still contains the 60 prefix part and the called device name field is empty.  The termination Cause Code is that the number requested is Unallocated/Unassigned..
In other words something is missing to get CUCM to strip 60 from the Polycom phones dialed number and send it towards the SIP trunk like it does when the Cisco phones call it.
Unfortunatley i dont have the meens to attach the trace...
    Thanks again for any help/advice
    With regards, Per.
