5 out of 5 coumpters authorised?

Today I got my laptop to stream music from my desktop upstairs and so I wanted it to be able to play the tracks I have bought. So I went to authorise the laptop, and it says it is the last computer I can authorise and that I have now authorised 5 of 5. However I only have 2 computers, and have only now authorised any one other than my desktop.
What has happened and is there any way to fix this?

James,
Have you ever reinstalled your computer's Operating System, formated the drive, or upgraded to a completely different operating system? If so, that will probably count as multiple authorizations.
Have you ever authorized another computer for even one song? For example a computer at work?
You can go into your account information in the iTunes Store, and "Choose DeAuthorize All" and then just reauthorize the two computers you are currently using.
This option may not be available if you have used the deauthorize all previously, and it has been less than a year since it was used.
In which case you can contact the iTunes Store online, and explain the issue, and they might be able to deauthorize the computers for you.
This is the link to the Authorization FAQ, and includes a form to email them at the bottom of the page:

Hope this helps,
Nathan C.

  • How do i find out what devices are authorised on my apple ID?

I have just bought a new iMac and want to get all my itunes library etc on it.  However, apparently i have reached my limit of 5 authorisations, which is entirely possible as I have had a number of iphones, Macair and ipads, some of which I either no longer own or are no longer functioning.  How do I find out what devices are authorised and then deauthorise any that I don't use any more - given that they may not even work!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't de-authorise just the computers you no longer have access to.
Your only option is to de-authorise all your computers and then re-authorise those you wish to be authorised. You can do this by logging into your account settings in iTunes on your computer (Store > View My ID) and selecting the option to de-authorise all.
Please note however, you are only permitted to do this once in each 12 month period, therefore you would be better de-authorising your computers before you lose access to them. you can do this from the 'Store' menu in iTunes.

  • What to do when you have reached you're 5 out of 5 iTunes authorisations

I have had to re-install a few times recently on my Desktop PC but have noticed that I have now reached my 4th out of 5 Computer Authorisations in iTunes.
What happens when I reach the 5th one and is there a way of re-setting this counter?
    Thanks

Hi crofty, Welcome to the Forum.

Regarding for this matter, you could read this article:

  • How do I find which 'machines' are authorised on my Mac?

I have a MacBook Pro OSX 10.5.8 and iTunes 9.2.1(5).
Apparently, I have two machines authorised on my account! How do I find which (what?) these are?
I synchronise my iPhone 3GS and iPad to the same account. It still shows my (now non existent) iPod Touch too.
So - how can I find out which 'two' are 'authorised'?

    Thanks for this.
The info re: iPods/iPhones clarifies one thing for me thank you. However, I don't have any recollection of authorising any other machine on my iTunes, so would still like to know how to find out which machines have become authorised.
There may not be any others! In many cases, iTunes will use up another authorization after a motherboard replacement, OS upgrade, etc, even when there is not really a new machine.
That is why it is a good idea to deauthorize a machine before doing anything significant to it, but of course that is easy to forget to do. As the gnome points out, it does not really matter until you hit 5, at which time you can simply "deauthorize all."

  • BW Analytical Authorisations and Data Store Objects

    Hello All
I am in the proces of trying to figure out how BW Analytical authorisations work as I have to build some authrisations for a new a new BW project.
I understand the concept of BW Analytical authorisations. I have created an object linked to heirarchies via an info provider, and assigned it to a user and it works great. The problem is that I then went and ran a generation for heirarchies and I specified the Z info provider my analytical authorisation object was linked to. Now I find that all usrs on the system have access to my object and I need to remove this. Even new users on the system automatically get this access.
I have read note 1052242 which explains that I can remove the authorisations using data store objects (DSOs). The thing is that I do not know how to maintain these DSOs..
Can anyone help with this. Once I know how to maintain the DSO I can add in the required D_E_L_E_T_E entry and re-run the genration and hopefully this will solve my problem.
    Thank You In Advance
    Best Regards

    Hi Anwar,
if your question is how to update data into a DSO, then I recommend you read the documentation.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/f9/45503c242b4a67e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
You require basic BW knowledge for that.
If your background is more ABAP then think about making the DSO a DSO for direct update.
That way you do not need BW knowledge and you can use ABAP instead to modify the data in the DSO.
These Function modules of the API can be used:
    ●      RSDRI_ODSO_INSERT: Inserts new data (with keys not yet in the system).
    ●      RSDRI_ODSO_MODIFY:  inserts data having new keys; for data with keys already in the system, the data is changed.
    ●      RSDRI_ODSO_UPDATE: changes data with keys in the system
    ●      RSDRI_ODSO_DELETE_RFC: deletes data
More information about these Function Module is here

However, if that doesn't solve your original problem with the authorizations, here are some useful links that I found helpful when implementing BW Analysis Authorizations.

  • Deleting Automatic Generated Analysis Authorisation

    Dear All,
We are generating Value and Hierarchy analysis authorisation automatically with the help of DSOs 0TCA_DS01 and 0TCA_DS02.( through RSECADMIN )
Upon generation everytime, it first deletes all the previously generated analysis authorisation ( for the users that are available in these DSOs ) and creates new ones with the name starting as RSR_*.
If the username for a particular user is not present in these DSOs, system will not delete / create anything for those users.System deletes / creates analysis authorisations only for those users that are available in these DSOs.
Suppose a user a going out from the organisation, in that case we need to manually find out all the analysis authorisations ( RSR_* ) that were previously generated for that user and delete the analysis authorisations manually.
    This is time consuming process.
Could you please advise any automatic / simpler way for deleting previously generated analysis authorisations for such users.
Assume that these users are not available in the new data loaded in these DSOs.
    Thanking You,
    Tarun Brijwani.

    Hi Tarun,
If a data record with the user name 'D_E_L_E_T_E' is loaded into the DataStore object 0TCA_DS01, first the generated authorizations for all users in the BI system for the DataStore object record are completely deleted (separated by the first part of the name before the digits) and then generated for the rest of the data.

  • HT1420 How do I re authorise my computer?

I recently got a new imac and my ipod wasnt updating so I de authorised the computer accidentally. Now I can work out how to re authorise my new computer!??

It's done via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes e.g.

  • De-authorising computers

I have had to put a new hard drive into my laptop so I have downloaded Itunes and transferred my music onto my new (as good as) laptop and Itunes asked my to Authorise my computer to receive the files. It then told me that I was on 4 out of 5 computers authorised. Now I know that 1 of those 4 is an old laptop I do not have and one of the others is this laptop but when it had my old hard drive in.
Firstly, how do I get rid of the 2 computers I do not need to be authorised anymore?
Secondly, will it affect the music I have transferred onto my laptop.
Many thanks for any help received.

You can't deauthorise 'dead' installations or computers you no longer have access to individually. However once you reach the limit of 5 authorisations you have the option to deauthorise them all in one go from your iTunes account and start over. *Just note that you can only use this option once a year*: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • Assigning Authorisation profile to roles

    Hi All,
I have created a new authorisation profile by copying from the standard profile and activated the same, I have created a role using  PFCG and assigned it to the user via SU01, but still the user has not  got the required authorisations.
When i try to assign this  profile to the role via PFCG, i am not able to assign
Either i have to select  the  transactions from the menu tab and the  system is creating  new authorisation profile and  assigning it to the user,
can anybody  help me out in assigning the  authorisation profile to the  roles
    Regards
    Venkat

    Hi Venkatesh,
Short of performing an upgrade step via SU25 to convert the profile to a role (which you really don't want to do!), you can't do this to the best of my knowledge.
PFCG is called profile generator because it creates the profiles for you based on what you enter into the menu tab and the corresponding auth values that you maintain within the role via PFCG.
I strongly recommend that you build a role via PFCG and create it with the right combination of menu transactions and auth values.  You can then assign this to the user.  This is the standard way of maintaining authorisations now.
Alternatively you can assign the profile you have created to the user, however if the role build is role based, I would not recommend this approach at all.

  • Offline authorisation

Just paid for full creative cloud subscription as my trial has just run out, my work PC is offline and I can't work out how I can authorise After Effects and Premiere Pro. There is no way of my work computer being connected to the internet. How do I find out my serial to put on this PC?

Subscriptions do not use serial numbers... you MUST be connected to the Internet... not only to download and activate, but periodically after that

  • Apparently Authorised by Keeps asking!

I have a dual boot XP and Vista system with the latest version of iTunes installed and all up to date service packs etc.
My problem is basically that I have some songs purchased under an old email address which I merged into my current iTunes account.
On my Mac my songs play fine after I authorised the computer. However in Windows I am asked for authorsiation and the old email address is prefilled in (so my assumption is that its related to this) I try and enter my old password but I get the error that the apple ID no londer exsists so I enter my new up to date details. This apparently authorises the computer as I get 3 out of 5 computers authorised etc. However the songs refuse to play. If I press play I am asked to enter my authorisation details.
Anyone else see this problem? if so is there a cure?
    cheers
    Craig

I too was having this problem. I finally found time and used the Machelp (make sure you type authorise with a "z" not an"s". This worked for me. I was using the wrong account info to authorise. By checking out the "info" on what song you are having problems with, it can tell you which account you used to purchase. Then authorising through the exact same account worked a treat for me. See below. HTH.
+Authorize using the correct account name+
+The items you are trying to play might have been purchased using a different iTunes Store account. To determine which account was used to purchase an item, follow these steps:+
+Select a purchased song in your library and choose File > Get Info.+
+Click the Summary tab. Note the Account Name that appears in the list. This is the account name (Apple ID) you will need to use when authorizing your computer to play this purchase.+
+Note: The account name that appears is the one you used when purchasing the item. Even if you have changed your account name since then, the item's Summary will continue to display the original account name. When authorizing your computer to play your iTunes Store purchases, you will need to enter the current account name to authorize this item to play on your computer. If you forgot the password to one of your accounts, you can recover it using Apple's password-recovery website.+

  • ITunes and Apple IDs: Multiple family users

    Hello everyone,
As many people do we started off our use of iTunes in a modest way: one couple, one computer, one ipod. Then the iTunes store came along and we continued with that setup. Then things gradually became more complicated to the point where we now have a family of users:
User 1, Dad: Intel iMac, 3rd Gen iPod, iPhone 4s. Old Dotmac alias1
User 2, Mum: Intel iMac (different one from Dad), iPod nano, iPhone 3Gs, iPad. Old Dotmac alias2
User 3, Daughter: shares Intel iMac with Mum, iPod nano, iPad mini. Old Dotmac alias3
So, these are all under my Apple ID. This worked okay until recently (with iCloud I think). Changes that were happening with other people's devices were getting synced onto my device without me knowing about it. One day I was sending work emails from my phone but everyone was seeing my wife's personal profile that she had updated. I fixed it, only to discover she was now sending emails as me. Also when I my wife purchased an app it started downloading onto my iphone. This isn't a massive problem really, and may even be fixable but I think things would be tidier if we all separated into three Apple IDs with user names from the Dotmac aliases we have been using for years.
This bit is easy but then there is the tricky bit: We have a lot of content that we bought under our shared ID that needs farmed out. I don't much care for Rihanna or Glee but my daughter has bought a lot of that 'music' under my Apple ID and on my credit card. She is now old enough to have her own Apple ID and has her own bank card to purchase. It only makes sense to do this becuase she has to grow up some day! If we do this will she be able to access her previous purchases or will she then become locked out from them?
Also, can my wife and I share an Apple ID and maintain our separate personal information? We like the transparency of sharing the account (and email address), but I don't want to have the "me" in the address book being my wife. Would we be better to create individual ID's?
    Thanks for the help.

    Thanks for the reply Roger,
That seems silly that when a child grows up they either have to remain tied to dad's iTunes account or loose all their content. I for one wouldn't be too keen on having a separate Apple ID and iTunes account for a young child. I liked the protection level I was able to provide when necessary. Surely it ought to be possible for me to make a one-off permanent transfer of all her items from my AppleID to her new AppleID (I'll certainly not miss Lady Ga Ga). Surely Apple have heard of this core concept of a family: kids grow up.
Regardless, I've now cracked it! Permission to use purchased items is based on the principle of authorising computers through an Apple ID. All our computers are authorised to access items on my Apple ID, and as it turns out I can additionally authorise the computer my daughter uses to access items purchased on her new Apple ID. All her items now synchronise to her iPad, and she can purchase independently from now on. The only drawback is that any computer she purchases in the future has to be authorised by my Apple ID as well as her own. This should always be possible if we stay on good terms .
With regard to email. I've cracked that too. With Five products accessing the same email address the inconsistencies were killing us. Establishing identical mailbox behaviours and setting a shared identity name solved the syncrhonising war of her setting overriding mine, to then be overriden in turn. Compromise, as in many marriage issues, was the way to harmony .

  • C5 Bluetooth Pairing - No option to automatically ...

I am very happy with my C5 but have recently run into a problem having bought a car with a pre-installed bluetooth facility.
Although I have managed to pair my phone with the in-car device I have discovered that I do not have a "paired devices tab" on my Settings/Connectivity/Bluetooth menu. (The downloaded manual on the Nokia website suggests this should be available) As a result I am unable to allow the paired devices to automatically connect without needing me to authorise the connection.
Every time I switch off the ignition I have to re-confirm the connection. My job involves frequent stopping and starting in my vehicle and this has made my phone almost useless as I have to keep getting it out and making two authorisations, firstly the connection & then to accept messages from the other device!
Can anyone please help me before I pull my hair out?
    Many thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't know if this will help, but after just 3 weeks my C5 is playing up like everyone elses. I lost connectivity with my in-car bluetooth, then tried it with another device that it had already paired with ok but pairing failed. Said it had detected it but couldn't connect. Tried for half an hour in the car. Then the phone shut down and I coudn't get it to power up. Took the battery out, back in, powered up, and everything started to work again - including bluetooth connectivity.
If you haven't tried it, take the battery out first, then back in and try again.
The firmware on this phone is dreadful, and fails repeatedly, sometimes only fixed by a restart.
I used to have a Samsung - worked faultlessly for 5 years until the screen failed.

  • TS1702 song wont play

Hi, I downloaded a song on via my iphone 4S. When I synched it up to my macbook, the song wont play on either my macbook or iphone. The message states 'you must authorise song on this device'. I then type in my password and it states '5 out of 5 devices authorised'. This is obviously wrong because I only have it on two devices and second of all, why is this such a massive pile of ****? I pay £1800 for a mac book, £700 for a top of the range iphone 4S and then pay 99p for a song and cant play it on any device. If I had bought the CD, I could have put it on as many devices as I like and given it to as many people as I like. Can somone please tell me how I can either get my money back for the song or get it to play? Also, several music videos I have downloaded, stop after the first 30 seconds and wont play. Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

Delete the track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track files to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the track persist, go here:
    iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

  • Staffing of Project Roles with Resources

    Hi PPM Gurus,
We have some gaps when designing workflow email to Resource Line manager in cProject (Project Management) in PPM. We working on scenario where,-
    1.       1. Project Manager (PM) knows only roles required for project, but not resources
    2.       2. Important Question: How PM will inform by SAP workflow to Resource Manager (RM) or Line Manager (LM) to update resource in cProject.
    3.       3. Then we can use standard SAP workflow process as mentioned in 1013736 – cProject soft booking and hard booking approval workflow which is,
    1) The process of approval of a Soft Booking of a Resource to a Project Role and the subsequent conversion of the booking from 'Soft Booked' to 'Hard Booked' is controlled by means of a workflow.
    2) This workflow will be triggered when a Resource is assigned to a Project Role or an old booking is changed and the booking type of a resource is marked as 'Soft Booked' by a Resource Manager. A Resource can be soft booked by checking the 'Res.' checkbox within the staffing table against the resource which is being booked to a role.
    3) The Line Manager of the resource which was soft booked will receive a mail containing a link to his SAP Business Workplace from where he/she can approve/reject the booking.
    4) In the SAP Business Workplace of the Line Manager a work item would be present which will have the booking details, 'Approve Booking' and 'Reject Booking' buttons which shall be used to make the respective decisions.
    5) If the booking is approved then the workflow will try to automatically convert this booking from 'Soft Booked' to 'Hard Booked' in the background. If it succeeds then the process will move forward; if not (say, because of reasons like Project/role being locked) then the Line Manager will get another mail informing him/her about the failure and would have to re-execute the booking through a new work item. Once the booking type is successfully converted from 'Soft Booked' to 'Hard Booked' then the Resource Manager(s), Project Manager(s) and the Resource himself/herself will receive a mail notifying the confirmation of the booking.
    6) If the booking is rejected then the booking type will remain unchanged ('Soft Booked') and the Resource Manager(s), Project Manager(s) will receive a mail notifying the rejection of the booking.
    Bottom of Form
    Regards, Diana

    Hi Diana,
Your questions can be answered through staffing type 'Resource manager via responsible organisation' known as extended staffing process in PPM-Project management.
    There are many staffing types
    1) Project lead
    2) Resource manager via authorisation
    3) Resource manager via responsible organisation (Extended staffing process)
    4) Multi-Resource Scheduling (MRS) (If MRS is integrated).
Except the first one, all other staffing type involves resource managers to staff the project roles and these staffing types are cross-project view for resource managers. The first one is project-centric and it is always staffed by the project lead/Project manager.
Resource manager via authorisation: Here the staffing is carried out based on the authorisation the resource manager has for specific resource pools with staffing/candidate manager authorisation to a single/multiple projects.
Resource manager via responsible organisation: In this process, the responsible staffing/candidate manager is identified through the HR organisation unit assigned by the project manager to a project role. This extended staffing process has 3 steps–
    1)     Staffing in preparation (Where the project manager select the suitable department/functions(org. unit) for staffing the resource manager)
    2)     Staffing in process ( The responsible staffing manager of the org. unit staff resources from his org. unit)
    3)     Staffing closed (The project manager closes the staffing process).
MRS staffing is also similar to the above with its own extra features.
Considering this, I feel that ‘Extended staffing process’ is more suitable for your scenario.
    Regards,
    Ravi
