$50 Minimum Trade for Any Working Tablet? How?

Is there any kind of information on how this is exactly supposed to work?  I've tried twice now to trade in a couple of older Android tablets I have which work perfectly fine and are undamaged.  I've been through a number of excuses about them being "not in our system" and such.  So, can anyone answer how this trade in promotion is supposed to work?
1.)  Is it any tablet, even if it's not in the system?  I've tried suggesting they do it as a recycle but have been unsuccessful.  
2.)  Is it a gift card that may be used on a Surface Pro or do I have to use it on a Surface Pro?  The issue with this is that I'm not 100% convinced on the Surface Pro until I read some user experiences and even if I do go with it, I'll get an i7 version which isn't even available until the end of August.    The best I've been able to get is that they'll give me a $100 voucher (an IOU I guess) when/if I decide to buy one.
3.)  I've seen the additional terms and conditions may apply at certain stores disclaimer which I completely understand.  But, is that something the store has posted/can print out or is it something they can simply make up as they wish when they can't figure it out or don't want to deal with it?  So far, my experience has pointed solidly to the latter.

I’m glad to hear that you are looking to participate in our $50 Minimum Trade In and Up to the Surface Pro 3 promotion!  These are great questions to ask, and I apologize if you seem to be having difficulty taking advantage of this offer in your local store with your two Android tablets.
To clarify, you should be able to trade in any working tablet (excluding Barnes and Noble Nooks and e-readers), even if it is not in our trade in system.  To be considered working, it must power on and not have a cracked screen or water damage. The store should have an alternative process through our Recycling Program to fulfill this promotion for working devices not found in our system for trade in. As the gift card you should receive would be a normal gift card, you should be able to use it towards a tablet of your choice.
Additional limitations may apply at certain stores should the device be traded in under this promotion rather than recycled. Through our Trade-in Center, some stores may have municipal laws governing what we may and may not trade-in, such as whether it was purchased through us or someone else, meaning proof of purchase at Best Buy may be required. I would reach out to your local store for more information on additional limitations.
As you state that your Android tablets are not in our system, we should be able to trade them in under this promotion through our Recycling Program provided they are considered working.     We definitely appreciate your interest in participating in our current tablet trade-in program centered around the Samsung Galaxy Tab S.  I’m very sorry to hear that the store turned you away on this promotion.
    From what it sounds like, your tablet should qualify assuming that it meets the following criteria:
    ·         The device must be able to power on
    ·         Must have a valid serial number
    ·         Cannot have a cracked screen
    ·         Cannot have any water damage
    ·         The device cannot be a Barnes & Noble Nook or other eReader
    It also appears that perhaps the associate you were working with was not completely familiar with the processing of this promotion, so I will send an email to the store management to make sure that they fully understand how to work this trade-in promotion and that their staff is up to speed as well.
    I would encourage you to return to the store before September 6th, when the promotion ends, and ask to speak with a member of management for assistance if necessary.

    I showed them the print out of the advertised ad on BestBuy "Get a minimum $50 GC for ANY working tablet". My tablet is working and comply with the terms; just not listed on the trade-in database. They would not honor this, stating it is not listed on their system. I told them the ad states "Any" and not "Qualifying". However, they were rude and refuse to honor this. I called BestBuy corporate, however they were closed on Friday night.     I am having the same problem here in Brockton, Massachusetts. Yesterday morning I brought in an RCA tablet and was told that it is not on their list. I sat in my car and called Corporate and the representative called the store. She said that she was told the same thing by the store Manager however she knows there is a way to do it. She took my tel number and found my information she said she would be sending out some emails and then she would call me back. Still waiting on a solution though and that is fine. She seemed confident. It is unfair that we waste our time and gas money and get turned away when the ad clearly states any tablet except Nook or ereaders.

    With new tablets coming out, we know people need an environmentally responsible way to dispose of their older model devices.  It’s one reason why many people are taking full advantage of our current Kindle Fire HD promotion. I have an older Kindle Fire model myself, and this offer has certainly made me think about trading it in for a shiny new one!     As long as your tablet meets the minimum requirements of the promotion, then it doesn't matter whether or not the model is immediately recognized by our trade-in database.  There is a process in place to ensure customers are still able to receive the offer. Those minimum requirements are:

  • If an internal ID is changed for the Work Repository how does it affect objects that are already in it?  Will they continue to run or do you need to cycle the ODI agent?

    I was having trouble migrating the Master and Work repositories from my QA to my Prod environment.  I was getting an error message that the internal id's were alike so I changed the internal id in my Prod Master repository.  Then I tried to migrate the Work repository and was getting a similar error.  I did a search on the internet for the error message and it recommended that I renumber the Work repository so I did.    My concern now is how these changes affect the objects that are already in the repositories?  Will those objects continue to run?  Also do these changes take affect immediately or do you need to cycle the ODI agent?

    Well I cannot completely assure you but so far I have not faced any issues after a renumber. It will affect the exist object only when you have imported the object in synonym_update mode. I believe you have the daily backup of your production repository.

  • I don't want to import PHOTOS. I want to get only one into Lightroom for temporary work. How do I do this. (the photo is now in Photoshop Elements).

    Lightroom is not a file browser, It isn't anything like the organizer in Photoshop Elements. Lightroom uses a catalog, which is a database. That database keeps track of the location of images that have been imported, as well as all of the adjustments that you make to those images using Lightroom. The import process is a process of showing Lightroom where the images are located on your computer. You can't just open an image in Lightroom, make changes and then close it. Lightroom doesn't make changes to the original image. Your images are left in their pristine state. All the changes are stored in the catalog. And when it comes time to share an image that has been adjusted in Lightroom you need to export a copy that includes all of those changes. It's a different workflow, and one that you need to become accustomed to. I suggest that you watch a series of short tutorials that will help you understand more completely how Lightroom works.

     I have a generic brand Android tablet. The associate at the store kept saying that this model number was not in the system and couldn't be accepted for a trade-in. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me the same thing. Afterwards, I called corporate customer service and received the same response for a third time. All the while, I reminded them of the words "any working tablet" and "guaranted minimum", with no success. I don't know why so many people are having this problem.
    Looks like BB is losing another customer.

    Hi Kiran.
    Ok here I will try to answer your question.
    1) SOAP (Web Service) -> RFC (R/3) -> SOAP (Web Service)
    a) you will need to create a Business System for R/3.
    b) you will need to create a third party business system or a business service for the Web Service system.
    2) File (File System) -> XI -> JDBC (Database)
    a) you will need to create a third party business system or a business service for the File system.
    b) you will need to create a third party business system or a business service for the Database system.
    note: BPM is one of the functionality of XI so there is no need to create a BS or TS for it.
    3) CRM or APO or BW (SAp Systems) -> XI -> IDoc (R/3)
    a) Business System for CRM or APO or BW
    b) Business System for R/3.
    The bottom line is you need to create Business System for any SAP system that is part of you integration scenario or when you have to Idoc, RFC and Proxies.
    If the business system already exists for the SAP system then you just need to attach your SWCV or Product to that Business System.

    I am looking for any ideas on how we could get any sort of shop stamp or other identifying mark onto our fillable pdf on an ipad.
    The scenario is that when we do a job as opposed to our regular contract work, at a large nationwide retailer, their accounts people want the shop's stamp, as proof of the work being done.
    Currently the 'paper' service report is just stamped. For the regular contract work, whoever signs the service report just uses their finger to sign the report, on the iPad.
    On a PC the shop could just set up an electronic signature as their 'shop stamp', but the iPad is another story.
    I am having a vision of ink stamps all over the iPad screen. LoL
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Unlike the desktop version of Adobe Reader, Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support stamp annotations yet.
    If you'd like, you can submit the Feature Request form.  The Product Management team will take your request into consideration for a future release of Adobe Reader for iOS.

  • Help, everytime I go on safari my screen freeze's on me. Any ideas on how to fix this problem!

    I have had know issue's until yesterday. I can check my mail and do everything except for when i go on safari the last page i looked at still comes up and it will not allow to do anything. i WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL FOR ANY IDEA ON HOW TO UNFREEZE IT!  JOY

    Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
    If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
