5230 3g connection keeps disconnecting

I have bought the Nokie 5230 and have a 3g Internet connection supporting more than 7.2 mbps.  I am able to connect fine after providing the access point details but the connection keeps disconnecting randomly. There is no pattern to this.
I tried KB925681 and installed the Hotfix. Even tried some other steps mentioned in some websites which told me to reset the adapter settings and change the properties from Device manager. However none has been succesful.
I use the Ovi app to connect my laptop to internet through the same connection. The same problem exists even while connecting from the computer.
Please help

Bump!
Got the same problem on a windows 7 desktop...
any solutions? thoughts?

  • Wireless connection keeps disconnecting - Satellite C650 16U

    Hi
My wireless connection keeps disconnecting frequently and I have to manually reconnect it. I don't think it is a router issue as this doesn't happen with other laptop that is used in my house. Any ideas why this is?
    Thanks

    Hi mate
I recommend checking the power saving settings in Win 7 power management.
There you can change (disable) the power saving for WLan card.
    This helped in my case.
    Please also check this thread:

As I said; power management setting is the key you should also update the WLan driver!

  • My VPN connection keeps disconnecting

  • Remote Desktop Connection keeps disconnecting

I have BT Hub 3 (recently upgraded to Broadband Unlimited at the end of Jan 2015).
Up until recently I was able to Remote Desktop into my work computer (via VPN tunnel) with no problems at all.
Around March 6th, I began to experience problems with the Remote Desktop Connect (RDP), in that it now makes an initial connection and then disconnects (typically within a few seconds, occasionally after a couple of minutes).
It will then cycle through a number of reconnection attempts, all with the same result, before it finally drops altogether with the message:
'The Remote Desktop Services Session has ended. Connection to the remote computer was lost, possibly to network connectivity problems'.
I have tried restoring both machines back to a date when i know the connection was working - no joy. I've also tried deleting an re-creating now VPN and RDP connections - no joy. I've researched online and tried various other things, but still have the same problem.
I've tried connecting using a laptop (via my wirelss connection) with the same result. My manager has RDP'd in from his home machines and has had no problem at all.
This leads me to consider whether the problem is with the router/BT Hub itself. I've tried the online diagnostic tools with no resolution to this problem.
Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Oh well, I suppose that after more than 2 months of frustration with this issue, the BTCare Community is unable to help me.
I can be fairly sure that it's not my machine as it's also happened using a laptop, plus I've even reset my PC right back to its original factory state just to sure that nothing had become corrupted.
The network guys where I work have also looked at this and can find nothing at that end to cause this problem.
I've even borrowed another BT Hub and tried it through that - same problem.
So where does the answer lie? VPN issue? I've tried other VPN options - same problem. RDP problem? I've practically exhausted the list of suggested solutions that can be found by trawling the internet.
I even upgraded the broadband cable to replace the cheap old thing that has been working perfectly well in terms of broadband, again, to eliminate this as a possibility. Now I'm stumped.
To me, it looks like the problem lies between my router and the workplace network, i.e. a physical problem among the miles of lines connecting the two. Of course I don't want to shell out for a BT engineer to come out to investigate, so I thought that the combined wisdom of this community may have been able to help.
    Sadly not.

  • Re: Satellite M50-216 - WLan connection keeps disconnecting

    Model M50-216
I can connect to my hub no problem, and as a comparison I have another Laptop (dell) that never eperiences the problems I get with the Equium. Here's what happens.
I connect no problem, then it may work fine for 5 mins or an hour, then it disconnects, I can still see the network and it will happliiy connect up again. I have tried at my friends house with a different router and the probelm remains, so its not a router problem.
From a configuration viewpoint, I have windows managing the network connection.... ANY IDEAS??

Did you try to update the WLan driver and the BIOS?
In many cases this is the key to solve such WLan dropping issues.

  • My dial up connection keeps disconnecting!!!

hi... my dial up spends a while to even connect!!! most of the time it will just say that it does not detect a dial tone... but ive checked with other computers on the same line and its no problem... i even checked with the internet provider... please help!!!

    Hi,
This may require a bit of hunting on your part, as you are on OS 10.2 and I am on 10.4. What you want to do is find the System Preference Pane that has the Modem info. On mine, it is: Network > Internal Modem > PPP > PPP Options. Here I find 'Session Options'with a check box to "Disconnect if idle for XX minutes". Un-check it. If you can find a setting like this, this may be your answer. I know it caught me in the first day or so. Failing that, SCOUR this Discussion Board, as I know I have seen other solutions -- it's just I can't remember where. Good luck.

  • Connection keep disconnecting and reconnecting itself

Few days ago I installed arch on this laptop (HP Pavilion 15-b129el Sleekbook), I started installing and configuring stuff on it today and I encountered a couple of problems with the connection and xorg (which I won't discuss in this thread).
To make it short, launching wifi-menu will show correctly all the available networks, it won't, however, actually connect.
I tried netctl which successfully connected and gave me a chance to download and install programs, sadly the connection doesn't last long but it seem to reconnect by itself.
For instance, I was updating with pacman -Syu now and as it was downloading the package linux3.10.6-2-X86_64 it kept disconnecting to reconnect after a bit and restart downloading the package from where it stopped.
I decided to test if my laptop had hardware problem and booted into my xubuntu partition, I launched a ping command and it seem to be stable, sometimes it takes a bit longer than it should to receive new signal but it don't seem to lose connection at all.
    Suggestions?

Update: Today wifi-menu managed to connect with a similar behaviour of netctl, connection works fine for a while, then doesn't work, then work again, tested with the ping command, I'd say a bit over a hundred pings works fine, then it stop for a while saying network unreachable, then working fine again.
Changed title to fit better the situation.

  • Idle RDP connections keep disconnecting?

My Windows Server 2012 R2 remote desktop users keep being disconnected from idle sessions.  They get "Your Remote Desktop Services session ended because the remote computer didn't receive any input from you."
Can anyone tell me why? I've change the GPO settings at "Computer Configuration\Polices\Admin Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits" both for the computer and user level but I still
get this. For example I've even set "Set Time Limit for active but idle Remote desktop services sessions" to Enabled with the limit of "Never".
Does anyone know how do I stop this from happening?

    Hi,
Thank you for your post in Windows Server Forum.
Please check that you have also applied setting under Collection properties, session tab For Idle Session limit. I checked in my environment with 1 minute and able to disconnect idle session and then applying “Never” then it’s never ending the RDS session.
For your reference, you can check the registry setting. When you will apply any group policy for idle session you can see the changes in registry.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks,

  • Connection keeps disconnecting randomly on WRT54GS

I have a WRT54GS router using AT&T DSL. My computer (Vista 64-bit) has a Linksys WUSB600N wireless adapter.
Recently, I've been disconnecting randomly from my router. Once I've disconnected, I have to restart the computer because I can't see my router under the "connect to a network" option. I've just tried changing the channel from 6 to 1, but it still didn't work. I reinstalled my adapter's driver, but it still occurs.
My sister's laptop and iPod Touch have no problems with disconnecting. I don't know what else to try. It's hard to get any work done.

Have you downloaded the drivers for the wireless network adapter from the Linksys website and tried to update the drivers on your computer and then install the drivers on your computer and then try to connect to your wireless network.

  • Wireless Connection Keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

I recently got a new router to replace my old one (which had the same issue) and it frequently disconnects randomly for a couple seconds then reconnects again. This seems to only happen to anyone using wireless connections and not when its connected with an Ethernet cable. I've even changed the router channel and the problem still persists and its not near anything the could disrupt the signal so I don't understand.

With the same issue on 2 routers, it's probably not a defective router.  But it could be the settings.  As Matt suggested check your security settings and the wireless mode.  If all of your devices are "n" use performance mode.  Otherwise use compatibility mode.
Inssider (available for free at the following link) will show you other devices and enable you to pick the best channel.
    http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/
Is the problem is on multiple devices or just one?  If it's only one the issue could be the wireless card.
Since it is a wireless problem think about distance and obstruction.  They will reduce signal strength and could cause intermittent problems.  Try testing close to the router and see if the same problem occurs.  Router positioning can improve signal quality.  Don't overlook little things.  Example: many users stand the router up.  I found that I get better reception with it laying on it's side.  And one of my laptops has a significant change in performance by rotating it 90degrees.  The kind of problem you are having may need some trial and error research to solve.

  • Wireless connection keeps disconnecting

I have a macbook OSX etc...i'm on a BT wireless home hub...it was working fine till about 2 weeks ago..now the connection lasts for maybe 5 mins if I'm lucky before it disconnects and I have to enter my password etc...very annoying...
is it my mac or is it BT?
    thanks,
    C23

    Coles Cross,
Thought you may have been boosting a WiFi signal with the router. With you plugging into the router yours would be closer to the router so you wouldn't be having the problems I'm having. What I can't understand is that I'm on one of he first Intel iMacs and the web browsing is fine. The new MacBook, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I can run network diagnostics and it says I have the connection but, the browser just sits there or takes forever to load. I usually just give up on it. I go back to my iMac and all works fine. If you or anyone would know what the difference could be, I'd appreciate it.
Oh, I have ran repair permissions program and all seems fine except each time it will have about 10 lines that all say the same thing about an iChat icon not being what it expected. Don't know if that's anything to do with it or not.

Thanks all so much for the replies :
If you are streaming content then I would recommend using an ethernet connection between your hub and PC as wireless is subject to to many forms of external interference"
Ethernet cable?  I am not sure what one is, I think this is how I was connecting when I was with Talk Talk.  Is it where you connect to the BT phone socket with a little white box thingy?  Please let me know.  To be honest, I thought the whole point of the setup I have now was the newest technology which did away with that sort of connection.  Can you please let me know how I can try this.  With thanks again for YOUR reply.
I think I have latest version of Adobe Flash Player  I removed my existing version last week and uploaded newest version.  Please tell me which one I should be using.  Please also let me know if I need anything other programme that would help.
Keith - I haven't tried an ethernet cable as I've said above.
Please please more help.  Would it be possible to speak to one of you guys on the phone OR a TECH person in the UK - I'm sure they could help me with the problem because they could guide me through what I have to do.  It must be a UK call centre (please) - I almost go into a nervous breakdown when I have to speak to your help centres in Asia.  With very many thanks.

  • Galaxy Note Edge Wifi Connection keeps dropping off

My wifi connections keeps disconnecting even after many attempts to login and getting connected on my home wifi it disconnects within a few seconds. Checked my modem and router and all is good (up to date firmware) and no connection issues on other devices. I verified my Edge is up to date as well. I am at a loss as to why it keeps auto disconnecting from my wifi. I tested tethering to my other cell phone and it stayed connected to it. So where do I go from here?

    Cesmenow,
Thanks for reaching out to us. We can assist you. To confirm, this is only happening on your home wi-fi connection or do you also experience it with all wi-fi's?
We can try a couple of troubleshooting steps to resolve this: First, try resetting the app preferences by going to Settings>General>Application manager>Applications then press Settings>Reset app preferences. Tell us if this helps.
If not, then please run your device in Safe Mode - http://tinyurl.com/oo54noe and try again. This turns off all 3rd party apps. Tell us if it helps.

  • USB device keeps disconnecting/connecting after upgrading to Windows 8.1

I have a device(Pedal for Sim Racing) connected via USB, everything is working fine in Windows 7 and 8 but after upgrading my machine to Windows 8.1 the device keeps disconnecting and connecting for like every 2 seconds. But after I open the Property Sheet
in Game Controllers panel the disconnection issue was gone, if I reconnect the device the issue persist. Other people who have similar device also encounters the same issue after upgrading to windows 8.1. The issue persist with or without the device driver
    installed.
Any idea, what might cause this?
    Best regards
    mark

I'v got this exact same problem with my Win 7 desktop.  I've also got pedals and wheel but don't see it as different than all the other USB devices.  I'm using a bunch of USB, but no hubs, including 3 external storage hard drives. But the momentary
disconnect appears in all devices as best as i can see..even my long time trouble free head phones..keyboard..and all.  Sometimes the sound goes away and if I unplug and replug them the sound comes back, and other times I have to exit and re enter the
game. I also get video crashes ..maybe not related.IDK..and have to restart all, because I've got three black screens in Eyefinity. For years my system was trouble free and its just slowly started getting worse. I've thought it had to do with system "sleep"
etc but long ago went to never sleep max performance etc..Makes no difference. Keep thinking its my hardware or my house wiring etc..But can't seem to solve it. I replaced my Mobo/chip/ram maybe 6 months ago and that appears to have not helped.  It seems
to be getting worse. I hate to start replacing parts piece by piece..cost a lot of money and sometimes doesn't help.
When I'm playing a game I can often hear "faint" sound of USB connect disconnect happening with regularity..that little bing/boink sound etc..So it must just be constantly happening...Seems weird. Didn't have anything like this happening years
ago with pretty much the same hardware and same Win7 with the continuing updates etc.
What can be causing this common problem?

  • Ipod keeps connecting then disconnecting

I've tried everything possible to try to make my Ipod mini work. I can't connect it to the PC because it keeps connecting and disconnecting repeatedly. I can't restore it since I can't connect it. I've tried all the different USB ports and I've installed and uninstalled all the programs a few times. I've also reset it connected and disconnected. It has worked before but now it won't! This is driving me nuts

Similar problem here too plus when I do manage to get them to connect they will not charge.
Both my classic iPods work fine, in all my computers, and show that they are charging, but my family have 3 nanos, a 4th and two 5ths. Although they all connect to my PC and my laptop fine, none of these will connect correctly to my daughters PC no matter what USB port I put them in.
I have checked in device manager that the ports are powered (500ma) and nothing else is there to infringe on this supply. Still these items connect and disconnect constantly. Ironically every now and then, they will connect and allow me to look at the files etc in iTunes. I have at one point had two nanos and my classic connected to her computer and they all worked fine for about an hour, I thought that I had finally got rid of the problem but one by one the nanos started to play up again so this exacerbates the problem somewhat.
I also get various warnings when the Nanos are trying to connect like, software driver failure to install, it will work faster in a high speed USB port, nano needs formatted to work in windows plus a host of others. When I plug them back into my PC they connect fine, so that all adds to the confusion. If this was one nano I would suspect that it was faulty but it is three different ones.
I have done the 5 Rs, I have even gone as far as upgrading from XP to Windows 7, I have plugged the units into every USB port, I even bought a new PCI/USB card and tried that and still this problem persists.
I would like to hear from someone with any suggestions as to what is causing this and how to fix it.
