5310 xPressMusic v 8.32: What is Max Mem Card supp...

Couple of questions on Nokia 5310 xPressmusic Firmware v 8.32.
1. How much max memory does this firmware support? Read somewhere that it actually supports upto 16GB. True? Anyone tried 16 Gigs and is successfull?
2. What is the latest Firmware? Is it still v. 8.32 or is there an upgrade? Its been more than 6 months that I have upgraded to this ver from the first 3.x. That solved loads of issues like freezing and restarts while playing MP3s. Any more upgrades?

About the firmware, v 9.42 is the latest and it is not available online. You have to take it to their usually-useless care centre (why????) to get it done.
This is what I received from Nokia yesterday:
"This e-mail is in reference to the software version of Nokia 5310 Xpress Music. You may kindly note the latest firmware version for Nokia 5310 Xpress Music is v. 9.42. You may kindly note that the online firmware upgrade facility is presently unavailable for Nokia 5310 Xpress Music."
Can you beat that? Now Nokia wants us to pay for a firmware upgrade if your phone is out of warranty! They won't allow us to do it online!

Hi,
Just got a 5310 XpressMusic earlier this month. Using the SIM card from my old phone (~ 3 years old).
If I shut the 5310 off and restart it, it'll come up with a screen that says something like:
OK to start without SIM card? Accept / Reject.
If you select Accept, the phone starts but you basically can't do anything useful with it. Reject, and the phone shuts off.
If I open up the case and press down on the SIM card while I turn the phone on, it starts up normally and the phone continues to work even when I slide the back plate back on and use it normally.
So my problem is basically solved, but I don't feel that this should be happening with a brand new phone. However, perhaps the problem is more with the SIM card; is it too old? Has anyone else had similar problems?

you may need to update the sim card as some settings such as wap are based on card like to send mms etc bring it to shop with network your on they should update sim for free

5310 XpressMusic receiver distortion?

Hello,
I have the 5310 XpressMusic phone and have a problem with audio distortion during phone calls. The distortion only comes out from the receiver (at ear-level); there is no distortion when using the loudspeaker or headset. The distortion occurs even for relatively low volumes. I can also hear some distortion coming from the receiver when I talk into the microphone (so distortion seems to be in side-tone path as well). Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am in Canada and the phone was purchased as a gift for me in Europe, so I am not sure what to do about sending for repair...

Our Country supports only gsm 900.
I Bought 5310 xpressmusic which is triband means accept 850/1800/1900 GSM Networks.
Now this set is not accepting any sim connection of this our cellular band.
So Guys & Nokia Please Help me that what i have to do so my phone also must accept 900GSM Network please

No, there is nothing you can do. It has to do with the hardware antenna not being compatible, and not a software issue.
The only "repair" you can do is to replace the antenna, which is pretty much tantamount to just buying a new phone.

Is there a C version that does what the MAX 1-D Interactive does? Or a solution to the problem below.
I got the MAX 1-D Interactive to work with my stepper motor. The hardware setup is at the bottom.
I am trying to write a C program in Visual Studio 2010 to control a stepper motor. I found an example program called 1D Straight Line Move.c in
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-Motion\Documentation\Examples\NI-Motion Help\C
I copied the example file and the needed .h, .c and .lib files into a Visual Studio project. I changed the velocity, acceleration, and deceleration to match the values in the MAX 1-D Interactive. The solution builds, but when I run it I get the following error message
Run-Time Check Failure #0 - The value of ESP was not properly saved across a function call. This is usually a result of calling a function declared with one calling convention with a function pointer declared with a different calling convention.
Setup:
I am running the latest NI Motion Software.
PXI-7334 connected to UMI-7774 using I/O Motion cable
UMI-7774 connected to P70360 Stepper Driver using control cable
P70360 Stepper Driver connected to NEMA 23 (T21NRLC) using Orange (A-), Black (A), Yellow (B-), Red (B)
NEMA 23 is powered by 120V AC power supply
P70360 Stepper Driver is set using DIP Switches (I tried to use the P7000 software tool that came with it, but it never found the driver):
S1: 1
S2-1: Off
S2-2: On
S2-3: On
S2-4: On
S2-5: Off
S2-6: Off

No I am not using Visual C++ MFC. I am using an empty C++ project in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. Although I eventually want to create a .exe file from this project so I'll have change project type.
The motor runs using MAX to control it.
It did run using the 1D Straight Line Move.c project, but it gave me the below errors. That night I unplugged it because the stepper motor gets hot. The next day MAX still moves the motor but the 1D Straight Line Move.c project doesn’t and I still get the errors below.
I am getting two errors: (I was getting the same errors yesterday)
Run-Time Check Failure #2 - Stack around the variable 'errorCode' was corrupted.

I think the errors come from using the functions in flexmotn.h. The functions look like they are being used correctly, but I can't find where they are defined. They are probably defined in FlexMS32.lib.

I haven’t tried any of the other examples. 1D Straight Line Move.c looks like the simplest and closest to what I want to do.

i am using nokia 5310 Xpressmusic and my phone IMEI is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx that i got by using *#06# and using this IMEI i got the master code for my mobile is 4604172520 but while i try to restore factory setting this master code is not working please help me to retrieve my phone master code so that i can reset my phone.

If you forgot your phone's security code, only a Nokia Care Point can reset the security code.

You don't say which version of the database you are using. In 10gR2 the maximum limit on users and roles is 2,147,483,638.
I think this is more users than any sensible DBA would want to manager :)

What is max size of slicer values in Power View on SharePoint?

I have Power View on SharePoint 2013 and OLAP Cube on SQL Server 2014 solution.
I should have 1000 values in DimCity, but not all are available in slicer.
Why? What is max value?

According to your description, you have 1000 values in a data field, but some of them are not available in Power View slicer. Right?
In this scenario, as we tested in our local environment, it's not related to the number of values. We tried 2000+ values in a slicer. It can return all the data field values properly. Please check if it has corresponding value for each DimCity. It has
no limitation on max number of values within a slicer.

Our basic recommendation is to have 20 tasks per MT Server. (An MT (Multi-Threaded) Server is equivalent to an operating system process.)
Consider the projected number of concurrent users for the application in the design phase of the implementation. Even though there may be a large number of potential users, a smaller number will be logged in at any given time. For purposes of the following discussion, assume that there are 100-200 concurrent users.
There are many variables to consider when tuning an Object Manager. This tuning should be reviewed with Siebel Expert Services as part of the Production Readiness review. Here are some variables to consider.
The number of concurrent users.
The length of time each user spends on the system during a session.
Session timeout.
Use of scripts.
Complexity of the application.
High usage times. (80% of users are online from 11:00 to 3:00)
The settings used for this Siebel Object Manager component are as follows:
Maximum Tasks = 300
Maximum MT Servers = 15
Minimum MT Servers = 5
Maximum Tasks represents the total number of concurrent users. Since the anticipated number of concurrent users is between 100-200 the setting has been set to allow for some extra breathing room. This is important to allow for sessions that do not log out properly and therefore hang around until the session timeout is reached. Session timeout can be set in the Webserver and is usually defaulted to 20 minutes.
Maximum MT Servers is the total number of processes that can be run for this component. It is also used to calculate how many tasks can be run on each process. The calculation is as follows:
Maximum Tasks / Maximum MT Servers = Number of tasks per MT Server
300 / 15 = 20
As mentioned before, our basic recommendation is that the ratio of Maximum Tasks to Maximum MT Servers be 20. An extensively configured or scripted application may require a lower ratio.
Minimum MT Servers is only used when the Siebel Server or the Component is started. This determines how many processes to startup for this component. The only benefit that this provides is that it reduces the initialization time of the process when a new MT Server is needed. In this example, 5 MT Servers were used because 100 users are anticipated. This way the system can handle 100 concurrent users before having to startup a new process.

Headset to Nokia 5310 Xpressmusic

I'm new here.
I have a bit of a problem I got a new headset to my nokia for Christmas present but I can't use it! It does not fit
It says it should fit my phone and the phones have the Nokia logo. ???
The model is Nokia Stereo Headset HS-47
I can put connect the headset to my phone only halfway but not completely and I don't dare to push in the fear of destroying my phone.
Is this headset the right one for my phone? anyone here who uses it?

My headphones do work!
I tested them this morning. It was just me who was afraid to push a little. Weird thing is though that with my other headphones (I got them when I bought the phone) just one of the earpluggs work. The left one. Not the right. It works fine on a cd-player though. So I will use them for that.
Now I have new headphones.
The adapter I have to use can be a problem but I hope not.

and earlier i was using navigator,
I was using nokia Messaging in my old phone, but i'm not able to install the sam in my new phone.
can any one tell me, wether 5310 is suppported for nokia messaging or not.

Unfortunately, Nokia Messaging does not support the 5310 XpressMusic. The Nokia Messaging web site (http://email.nokia.com) says that the 5320 XpressMusic is supported, but not the 5310.

New Nokia 5310 XpressMusic Power Adapter "Hizzing"

My girl and I upgraded and got brand new Nokia 5310 XpressMusic phones today. I just noticed a slight "hizzing" sound coming from the power adapters when the phones aren't plugged in for charging.
When you do charge the phones, the "hizzing" sound almost goes away. I thought it was just her phone, but I noticed the same problem on my phone adapter
Anyone else experienced or noticed this? Is this a known defect? I just hope this isn't like the batteries that had the overheat problem and dell had to do a massive recall. Mainly I just don't want to come home and find my house burned down.

What you're hearing is normal for a switch-mode power supply not under load. It's nothing to worry about. This said, you should remove the chargers from the wall socket when they're not in use anyway in order not to waste energy and not to wear them out prematurely.

Hi Lionel,
As a general rule of thumb, the ATI Rage 128 Pro will not support a 20" LCD. That being said, there are reports of it doing just that (possibly the edition that went into the cube).
I'm not that familiar with the ins and outs of the Cube, so I can't give you authoritative information on it.
