5800 music refresh problems.

I've recently upgraded to a 16Gb memory card. When I first changed the cards over I copied across ALL the memory cards' files and things were working fine, apart from a couple of apps that didn't seem to make the journey (?).
However, just recently the music player has now decided to stop refreshing the music. When I transfer music and then try to refresh the library the phone just hangs and never finishes refreshing, eventually necessitating a reboot of the phone to get it to stop the refresh.
I'm all up to date with the latest software version through Ovi.
Any Ideas?

Sometimes the touch screen will not respond when an incoming call is ringing and I have to answer by presing the green button. ----------
I've notice that the screen will also not respond if ur answering and sometimes ending the call i think its due to the screen protection lock when u place the phone over ur ears it should lock up so that it wont interfere with the touch screen but i think its the common bug for this phone.... what I do is i try locking the phone by pressing the screen lock slider on the side and unlock it again and it actually resets the darn screen protect thing and then the screen will respond when u answer or close a call... (I guess thats where the head phone comes handy when ur calling someone instead of putting it over ur ear..)

Nokia 5800 music uploading problem

Hey there, I have had alot of trouble transfering music to my phone. It transfers and plays fine, but when i transfer the songs/albums, most of them aren't what I named them on my pc and a few of my songs get sorted in with random albums
I posted on here a few days back and I was given a solution which worked perfectly (Transfering by inserting the phone memorycard into my pc, and refreshing library when transfer is complete.) the albums were exactly as i named them and so were the songs. Once i tried to upload more, it all went wrong.

I have the same issue with track playback.
Although I hear the popping only occasionally, it does not matter what format the file is in, it happens from time to time randomly and although disappointing, it does not detract too much from my enjoyment of the music.
A more serious and fatal error that is now occurring is the freezing of playback once a file completes and tries to advance to advance to the next track.
This became a problem only recently as of July 2010. I have owned the phone since October of 2009 and have never had any issues with the handset. And indeed, have recommended and gushed over the features and ease of use of the 5800. It should be noted that the player freezes only when I play “All Songs” either randomly or from a playlist. Or, when playing even by Album or Artist, when I select next track or previous track, the player will freeze and not shut down. I am left to turn the phone off and on again to reset the player.
The phone is fully updated with the latest firmware released to the Americas market. And I use the latest Ovi Suite program for phone management. I have tried the suggested fixes of reset, restore, re-update, and even have reformatted the memory card. All of this, to no avail.
I have noticed that the Americas market is behind an update or two as to firmware and I cannot access the latest and greatest thru any Nokia website. So if I must I can be patient and wait my turn. But, if someone has an actual hard fix for this specific problem, I would be most grateful. Please, no guesses or “it may be” suggestions as I have gone thru them all already.
I know I’m not the only one with this problem as the boards threads are becoming dense enough to knit a sweater.

5800 Music Library Problem.

I was listening to music and a message came up saying "File corrupted." then it deleted all my music. i refreshed the library and got my music back but it happened again. so i thought id start fresh and delete all the songs from my phone and re add them.
Now the songs are deleted but they still come up in my library when i try to delete them again it says "General - Sytem Error" anyone know how to fix it?

Before going to nokia care i would suggest you to do this first -
You can do this to rebuild the library as it is corrupted.
Restart your device and then refresh your library. If this doesn't help then;
Connect the phone to your pc/lappy and put in 'Data transfer' mode.
To delete the library files:
- Ensure you can see hidden files in Windows Explorer:
Windows Explorer .. Tools .. Folder Options .. View
Select "Show hidden files and folders"
- Connect the phone to your PC using the USB cable in "Data transfer" mode
- Find and rename (or delete if you're really brave) files with names like:
E:\private\101FFC31\mpxv1.mpd
E:\private\101FFC31\pcv5.mpd
E:\private\101ffca9\harvesterdb.dat
(assuming the phone's mass memory / card has been connected as E)
Note that the folder names may be different and the files may have prefixes - eg: mpxv1.mpd could be called abcmpxv1.mpd. Basically, you need to search under the Private folder for any files that look similar.
Now just refresh the Music Player library and the job is done.
This will take longer than normal as it's a complete refresh, but it should now work.

5800 music connectivity problems

Hello, I've just bought a 5800 xpressmusic, and I'm totally unsatisfied of the smartphone features. the browsing options are poor and annoying. I have not been able to set wifi as the default access point. The bloody creature always tries to connect through the wireless network, letting me spend money instead of using my free (paid for) wifi connection. The browser always crashes and often refuses to connect through my wifi access point. I'm having a hell of problems and I'm thinking to trash this dumbphone. Anybody like to speak against or for this radical solution?

The default browser is not the best. You could try either Skyfire or Opera Mini, both of which are available for free from Ovi Store. Both browsers also have their own access point controls so they may also solve your access point issue at the same time.
Failing that, I know a very convenient thrash can.

5800 music express problem with Bluetooth

Hi,
I have recently had problems with my 5800 contacted nokia they told me to take it to a care point which I done. They were unable to fix it so they had to send it off to nokia themselves. After approximately 2 weeks nokia contacted me and told me that your device is ready for pick up from the care centre (which is 30miles away).
I went to pick the device up and brought it home the exact same problems were still there contacted the care centre they told me to take it back down to them which was totally unacceptable for me. Contacted Nokia they said for me to send it back to them direct but I feel that I don't want too be without my phone for another 2 week when they have already had the chance to rectify the problem. Surely if the device was unable to be fixed then a replacement handset should have been offered. Am I being unreasonable???

Ok, so it does seem the problems are related to a malfunction. Have you tried returning your phone to the shop you bought it from, and asking them to replace it?
Failing that, your only other option would seem to be to keep pestering Nokia Care for a replacement...
P.S I don't think you are being unreasonable wanting a replacement if your phone is faulty & can't be fixed under waranty!

5800 XM corrupt problem

hello guys..
i am facing prob with my 5800 music player...
while listening to songs some of my songs get corrupted and when i swich off my cell they work again but after 2-3 songs of playing it again gets corrupted...
i tried to format the card i got with 5800 but did not helped me..
and sometimes when i try to play the song which it shows in the list it shows me no songs..and sometimes and redirects back to music player main menu...
any help what to do and how would this be corrected..
and i am facing one more prob..the white butto on the side of xpress music sometimes dont work and i have to switch off the cell to make it work...
plzzz help me...

1. Plug your device into MASS STORAGE mode.
2. Copy out all your data from memory card to computer.
3. Use Windows Explorer to format the memory card (use FAT32) and dont use QUICK FORMAT.
4. Copy back all your backed up data from computer to memory card.
5. Now to refresh ..
- Open Windows Explorer
- Open E:\Private folder
- Open 101ffca9 Folder
- Delete harvesterdb.dat file
- Delete the E:\Private\10281e17
- Disconnect phone from PC
- Turn device OFF then ON back again
Remember: Media library refreshing may take somtime to load for the first time depending on the amount of songs you're having on the device. Please be patient.
Tips
- For the best result, recommended SD/SDHC is of Class 6
- Use songs with 128kbps with 44100KHz for the optimised result.

N96 music refresh

I recently got my N96, and before putting much on it, updated the software to v11.101.
I am having a couple of problems with the music refresh...
1) I used nokia music manager to convert and transfer about 30 albums... Left it running overnight, and in the morning, it said finished, but they weren't on the phone. They were converted, and I found them in My Music on my PC.
2) I copied all these albums into the music folder on E (mass storage). All good. When I pressed to refresh library, it scanned, and found 25 new tracks, but NO MORE. There are probably another 200 tracks that it didn't (and still won't) find. I can play these tracks if I go through file manager though.
Any ideas?

Is there a way the i can prevent the body of the page from refreshing?

Smartview 11.1.2.1.102 Refresh problems

I have multiple users experiencing severe refresh problems after upgrading to smartview version 11.1.2.1.102.
Users state Refresh is taking 10-15mins+ when in old version 9x it only takes 1-2mins. In addition users have rebuilt the excel files (copy in new workbook) then all is working fine but when saved/the next day the refresh goes very slow again!
Please can any help?

1. Deleting the Sheet Info fixes the problem for the moment - but the problem soon returns. Do you know what causes the problem, so we can cut the repeating cycle? Is this strictly a multi-user issue? We do have several users that may use the file. Some have version 11.1.2.1.000 (not 103). Oracle's tips doc (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-tips-issues-73-102-1612164.pdf) mentions uncompressed metadata stored in the worksheet.
2. Is there a specific version that allows the Sheet Info fix? Oracle's tip sheet says they need Some have version 11.1.2.1.103, but the users we have seen so far can use this workaround on Some have version 11.1.2.1.000. I'd like to know when at what version this fix starts so I can push other users to update. It would be good to know at which version this issue starts.

Note that the file will open but it may take a very long time, and in some cases the file will open fine with Smart View disabled. In other cases it will not matter. To solve this problem, save a copy of the file and follow the steps below for the version of Smart View you have.
If you are using Smart View 11.1.2.1.103 or above, follow these steps:
1 Open the file (this may take a while) with Smart View enabled.
2 From the Smart View Ribbon, select Sheet Info.
3 Select Delete Smart View Info.
4 Select Workbook and all Sheet Info.

Screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh

Many people in the company are experiencing the odd screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh to show the updated result in corresponding cell formulas.
Microsoft have issued a hotfix to fix the issue for Excel 2003 as shown. Microsoft released a hotfix for this problem (<a href="advisory?ID=978908">KB978908</a>). Display memory tends to pick up data from hidden sheets and pastes it
into the active screen. No impact on the file. This occurs when protecting and unprotecting worksheets in VBA. I also suspect that enabling and disabling screen refresh contributes to this problem. In any case there is a fix, albeit with the following disclaimer:

Based on your description, Excel does not show the text strings when you typing. It may be caused by the cell format, if we set the cell format as ";;;" in custom format, it will not display the text that you typed.
And the issue may be caused by the third-party input method, there are some compatibility issue between them.
If the issue still exits, please try the following methods
Verify/install the latest updates
Repair your Office program

Screen refresh problem with Windows 7

Hello all,
I've recently begun testing Oracle with Windows 7 on a new HP 2540p notebook computer. I've encountered a very strange issue so far. After logging into Oracle, and Windows switches to Windows Basic theme, I should be taken to the main Navigator screen. But instead, the screen is simply white. If I drag (or nudge) the title bar just a bit, the screen refreshes and I can see the menu items. Then if I click on something (or even use hotkeys - ALT+F to get the file menu, for example), I don't see anything happen. But if I move the window just a bit, the screen refreshes and I can see that it did actually take my input, it just didn't re-draw the screen. I'm wondering if this may be a graphics driver issue (I do have the latest driver for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD adapter), or if someone could point me toward a resolution to this problem. Any help is much appreciated.

What refresh problem you are facing.. in DataGrid? When you change your DataProvider for your grid the values are not being changed or somethingelse..??
