6 month on.. My observations on Data Services vs SSIS

Hi all,
I'd like to share some observations on my first six months working with Data Services.  I have previously worked with SSIS for several years and have some minor experiense with Datastage also.
Firstly, let me say that I am largely happy with Data Services.  There are pro's and Cons, but for an SAP ECC shop like us, it solves more problems than it causes.
The positives:
The ability to call SAP extractors directly, saves huge amounts of time and money for us.  We can do in DS in a day what would take weeks if we have to use openhub and SSIS combined.
The Query transform is really flexible and does in one step what would take several in SSIS.
DS is more tolerant of metadata changes.
Template tables are a great feature that support quick turn-around.
The negatives:
Crashes = DS 4.0 is a buggy tool.  Everytime I loose network connectivty it crashes.  It crashes randomly at other times as well.  I'd say once every 2 days would be about the average between crashes.  SSIS isn't perfect, but is much more stable than that.
Debugging - SSIS's visual debugging is far superior to what DS has
Attitude - There is a certain degree of arrogance amongst SAP/BO consultants I have dealt with.  I have heard phrases like 'SSIS is not an ETL tool' and SSIS just runs SQL' several times.  That's a load of BS.    Both tools are quite similar in many ways, and the reality is DS does a lot more push-down to the database than SSIS does out of the box.
Community - SSIS has a great community.  If I ask a question in an SSIS formum, I know i'll get an answer by the next day.  Here, I'd say half my questions are never answered.   Micrsoft have several people monitoring the forums at all times and they do a great job of this.
lock-down - With SSIS, I can download a free eval of SQL Server (or buy a dev only copy very cheaply), install it on my PC at home and try things out.  With DS, thats not an option.
No 3rd party extensions - there are lots of 3rd party extensions available for SSIS.  I've yet to find any for DS.
This is not meant to to be a negative post; i'd be interested in hearing other's point of view on this.
Thanks.
Leigh.

If you need to get data from ECC, then data services is probably your best option.  But it is a big investment.
Conceptually, DS is similar to SSIS - think if SSIS as a basic version ( I worked with SSIS before DS, and I wouldn't ever go back).  I would say you will need 6 months to get up to speed with it enough to be able to build production ready easy to support code.  You will probably have the quick and dirty stuff going in a few weeks.  We bought in a consultant to teach us on the job for 3 weeks, so I never had any formal training, but that would probably be a good idea.
There is no point keeping SSIS if you have DS, so the plan would be to migrate over time.
The other option is to look at SAP rapidmarts.  These are basically pre-built datamarts for SAP  - you load them into data services, change the connection details and run them !  If you went this route, you could use SAP consultants to set it up, but you would still need DS skills to support it.
Either way, and independent of DS, you will need some serious expertise on the SAP side to help you.  Even a data services expert couldn't necessarily build a solution based on ECC without a subject matter expert to help.

I purchased an unlocked iPhone4 last month. Everything was fine till yesterday. Today morning when I tried to check mail, i suddenly got an error message saying " Could not activate cellular data network: you are not subscribed to a cellular data service", when I checked on my network settings i was not able to find the cellular data network tab ( where we use to input APN manually). i even tried to restore my iPhone to its factory settings, Still it remains the same. i cant able to connect to Internet using cellular data. help me...Plz..

Where did you purchase it from?  There are lots of iPhones sold as "unlocked" which are carrier locked phones that were hacked and are not officially unlocked.  These phones are subject to re-locking to the original carrier, particularly when updated.

  • Data Services and Data Quality Recommnded Install process

    Hi Experts,
I have a few questions. We have some groups that have requested Data Quality be implemented along with another request for Data Services to be implemented. I've seen the requested for Data Services to be installed on the desktop, but from what I've read, it appears to be best to install this on the server side to allow for more of a central benefit to all.
    My questions are:
    1. Can Data Services (Server) install X.1 3.2 be installed on the same server as X.I 3.1 SP3 Enterprise?
    2. Is the Data Services (CLIENT) Version dependent on if the Data Services (Server) install is completed? Basically can the u201CData Services Designeru201D be used without the Server install?
    3. Do we require a new License key for this or can I use the Enterprise Server license key?
    4. At this time we are not using this to move data in and out of SAP, just using this to read data that is coming from SAP.
From what I read, DATA Services comes with the SAP BusinessObjects Data Integrator or SAP BusinessObjects Data Quality Management solutions. Right now it's seems we dont have a need for the SAP Connection supplement, but definetly something we would implement in the near future. What would be the recommended architecture? A new Server with tomcat and cmc (seperate from our current BOBJ Enterprise servers)? or can DataServices be installed on the same?
    Thank you,
    Teresa

    Hi Teresa.
Hope you are referring to BOE 3.1 (Business Objects Enterprise) and BODS (Business Objects Data Services) installation on the same server machine.
Am not an expert on BODS installation.
But this is my observation :
We had recently tested on a test machine BOE BOXI 3.1 SP3 (full build) installation before upgrade of our BOE system.
We also have BODS in our environment.
Which we also wanted to check whether we could keep on the same server.
So on this test machine, which already has BOXI 3.1 SP3 build, when i installed BODS server installation,
    what we observed was that,
all the menus of BOE went away
and only menus of BODS were seen.
May be BODS installation overwrites/ or uninstalls BOE, if it already exists ?
I dont know.  Though i could not fine any documentation, saying that we cannot have BODS and BOE on the same server machine. But this is what we observed.
So we have kept BODS and BOE on 2 different machines running independently and we do not see any problem.
    Cheers

  • Data Services wizard not creating service

I am having huge problems with the Data Services wizard.
I am using Flash Builder 4.6 on a Mac (10.7.2).
Over the last year I have been working on a couple of proof of concept projects and now want to start work on a production version starting from scratch in a new project.
The Data Services wizard has worked fine for me in the past, but now I am having serious problems.
The first problem is the Data/Services window does not update when I create a new service with the wizard. (I am connecting to the Zenfolio Web Service.) If have to close the project and open it before I see the new service in the Data/Services window.
While this problem is more an inconvenience, more seriously the wizard does not create either the "services" folder or the "valueObjects" folder as it did in the past.
Now if I right click on a method in the service and select "Create Service Call", it creates the Call Responder but not the call itself.
The relevant log entry starts with
    !ENTRY com.adobe.flexbuilder.dcrad 4 1 2012-01-12 22:39:20.962
!MESSAGE Component type services.zfapi.Zfapi not found.
If I create a "services" folder and copy the zfapi package from one of my previous projects, all works fine.
This probably gives me a workaround - although I haven't tested this to any extent yet.
It is very strange and worrying behaviour though.
    regards
    Chris

  • IPhone 5 cellular data services failing

ISSUE/SYMPTOMS:  iPhone 5 ONLY: Cellular Data stops intermittingly, cellular data locks up without warning, Wi-Fi data connection not working on occasion, iCloud contacts, calendar and reminders not updating, Find My Phone not working, mail or Internet not available or server time-outs. No error messages though. All of these are symptoms of no data service. Problems seem to be related to iPhone 5 failing to switch between LTE and 4G or 3G data services on AT&T.
My iPhone 5 32GB AT&T version (iOS 6.0.2) along with my clients and family using iPhone 5 in the state of Oklahoma are having this issue on their AT&T iPhone 5's:  no cellular data connection re-established if at anytime the LTE connection is lost or weak.  As with iPhone's prior to iPhone 5, the iPhone 5 is supposed to drop down to the next tier of data service and re-connect to cellular data service when the higher speed cellular data service is not available.  Apparently this is not working well on the iPhone 5.
What led me to research this LTE issue was that my iPhone was not syncing on iCloud with contacts, calendars and reminders with my other iOS devices.  Other times this issue became apparent was when iMessage quit sending and receiving until I would reboot my iPhone (sometimes it would finally send the message as a “text message”). When I had these problems I also found out I was not getting any cellular data service for Internet browsing, mail, Maps, Find My iPhone, etc.  This would happen without notice. In other words I would not receive any notice or error message that data service had stopped other than the fact I was not receiving any mail, iMessages, or iCloud sync updates. My only resolution was to reset or reboot my iPhone several times a day, and that would resolve it about 70% of the time.
I have talked to Apple Support on 2-3 occasions in the last week and AT&T Support twice in the last 2 days.  If it is really true, only the AT&T Technical Support Advisor informed me of a nationwide issue relating to iPhone 5 and LTE:  iPhone 5's are not re-connecting to 4G or 3G cellular data service once the LTE data connection is lost or dropped... the voice calls continue to work, but cellular data service fails and stays locked up without an error message until the customer reboots the iPhone.
Obviously this is very unacceptable. We depend on these data services and at minimum need to know when it stops working instead of finding out from a phone call that someone sent us an important email or something.
The AT&T representative also said that both AT&T and Apple are aware of and are working on the issue as it is a nationwide problem with iPhone 5 and LTE. The Apple Support Advisors I talked to made no mention of this "known" issue. AT&T said that it is partly AT&T responsibility because the capacity of LTE is overloaded and cellular data connections are dropping because of the lack of coverage and/or capacity. They actually refunded my data service for a whole month in apology for the inconvenience (I did not even ask for that--I just want my data service to work).  But they also said that Apple has responsibility in this issue because the iPhone 5 should drop down and re-connect to the next lower tier of data service when LTE is not available or lost; instead, it is locking up somehow or it still thinks it is connected to LTE when it is actually not. I don't know how accurate these statements are, but my problem is real.
TEMPORARY WORK-AROUND / FIX FROM AT&T:  Disable LTE on the iPhone 5.  Or when you figure out that data is not coming to your iPhone, use Airplane Mode ON/OFF for a few seconds to force re-connection to a tower without rebooting the iPhone.  You can Disable LTE on the iPhone 5 in SETTINGS/GENERAL/CELLULAR. I have disabled LTE on my iPhone 5 and have not had any of these cellular data issues since.
Disabling LTE is not acceptable either, but it is working. At least I seem not be losing connection or locking up without knowing it.  In my office over the course of a day, my iPhone 5 will jump back and forth on LTE and 4G sitting in the same place.  Disabling LTE has stopped this and the problem, but the iPhone 5 should switch cellular data services seemlessly just like the phone switches towers on a phone voice call seemlessly (most of the time).
WI-FI ALSO STOPS WORKING SOMETIMES AFTER THIS LTE disconnect / lock-up issue:  That has been my experience along with my clients and family as well. If you use Wi-Fi a lot on your iPhone it will hide this LTE issue until you leave your Wi-Fi and get on LTE and then drop LTE (silently) and then go back to your Wi-Fi.  My experience has been I have to reboot the iPhone to even get Wi-Fi working again after that happens.
I do not know if some of these comments and analysis are really accurate or valid or not... all I know for sure is since I upgraded my iPhone to the 5 along with my other family members and clients, we have had "no data" on many occasions and are continually rebooting our iPhones and looking for what is wrong.
My questions to the support community are these:
         1. Is anyone else having this issue? Or is it just me and my few? Maybe a lot of people do not realize they are not getting their data because they are on Wi-Fi most of the time or they are just rebooting and not trying to identify the real problem. AT&T said it was nationwide iPhone 5/LTE issue.  Anyone else heard that from either Apple or AT&T?
         2. Is this an iPhone 5 / Apple issue or is AT&T solely responsible? Or is it both? Where do we get a solution??? Is AT&T LTE holding false connections with iPhone 5 or is the iPhone 5 failing to recognize a dropped LTE cellular data connection and then failing to attempt to re-connect with 4G or 3G?
         3. Did I miss where this issue is posted? I searched Apple Support and Communities and did not get any hits.  Any updates or further insight on the issue? Any other fixes other than Disabling LTE?
          4. If this is in fact a real issue belonging in part to the iPhone 5, we need to escalate Apple’s attention to it.
Thanks in advance for your help and feedback.

Thank you fellow users and experts for your feedback and updates. Sorry about the large font on the original post... accidental via cut and paste.
I have escalated the issue with both Apple and AT&T.  I actually got senior level troubleshooters from both Apple and AT&T on the phone at the same time... rare moment. Here are the key points of the update:
         1. AT&T did NOT confirm the earlier statement by another AT&T Technical Support Agent that this was an emerging nationwide issue about iPhone 5 and LTE losing data connection and not reconnecting at a lower level or re-connecting to LTE once the signal came back. So that earlier statement was not accurate as suspected by all of us. The senior tech at AT&T said he has seen this issue sporadically over the last month or so, but only with about 3-4 customers.  He said it seems to be location or phone dependent (some phones not all phones).
         2. The Apple Tech was satisfied that all that could be done to eliminate my issues possibly relating to my instance of software / iOS had been accomplished except erasing my iPhone and restoring as a new phone (I have avoided this inconvenience with the argument that other family/clients with the iPhone 5 have had the same problem).
         3. AT&T went so far as to examine which towers I had been connecting to over the last week and looked at other technical data that could possibly explain the issue. I now know I have 3 towers that provide LTE within 4 miles of my home/office, one within a half mile.  But so far there is nothing to explain or even properly identify the issue.  AT&T offered me to take my phone to an AT&T store, try to force replicate the problem there, if so, the store would put my SIM card in a brand new iPhone 5 (just to test) and try tor replicate the problem again. If replicated on a new phone, there is a deeper issue; if resolved on a new phone, the answer is obvious. I have not taken the time to do this yet.
         4. On Friday, Jan 4, 2013 while talking and between the tech support calls (on a different phone), I was able to re-create the problem 2 separate times in my home/office by forcing my iPhone to weaken its connection to service (burying it under electronic gear) and then waiting a few minutes, then trying to browse the Internet--no data service unless I manually reset the connection.  I am only able to cause the issue to occur if there is at least 15 min of idle time after a weak signal condition AND only if I don’t completely lose a connection to cellular voice service. It seems that if you go down to NO SERVICE the phone will do new a search and keep searching until reconnects to LTE or other signals correctly, but a weak connection seems to be strong enough for voice service but can sometimes cause the LTE data service to stop without reconnecting to LTE, 4G or 3G unless I manually intervene. It also seems that idle time with a weak connection is also necessary to re-create the problem manually.  Since Friday, I have not been able to re-create the problem. This has been an intermittent problem, so who knows.
FYI, I have never had this problem with my new iPad (also on AT&T LTE) that has been with me when the iPhone fails to have data service, but my iPad is never in my pocket or other places with perhaps less signal.
Again, if you are connected to Wi-Fi on your iPhone 5 most of the time, you may never notice this issue if you are even having it.
So far no progress on the real issue or resolution, but both Apple and AT&T have put forth very admirable effort.
If you or others you know are having this issue, please take the time to post a reply to this issue. Thank you.

  • Shared hosting, Coldfusion 8 & Livecycle Data Services ES

I want to develop a CF/Flex/Air online/offline application that uses Livecylcle Data Services (LCDS) to synchronize client (SQLlite) and server (MySQL) databases.  I'm a coldfusion developer (MX6) and have done some Flash work (AS2).  I'm going to learn Flex, Air and AS3.
I can only use shared hosting.   I'm confused about the licensing of LCDS and if there is shared hosting that provides it.  I Googled for Coldfusion/Flex/LCDS web hosting and the only one I found was way too expensive, e.g.$250/month.
But I just read that LCDS is included with Coldfusion 8.  So does that mean web hosting with CF 8 (Enterprise) automatically includes LCDS?

It really depends on the hosting provider.  The ColdFusion 8 install (Standard & Enterprise) have the ability to install a LCDS "trial" which after 30 days will revert to LCDS ES which is free, as long as the server that it's installed on has no more than 1 processor (up to 2 cores though I believe).
To more specifically answer your question, it really depends on whether the individual hosting provider has installed and offers this option to their clients.  The use of LCDS with Flex required configuration of a data-management-config.xml file and certain ports may need to be opened up for rtmp vs. polling transfer methods.  I'm not sure exactly how this would work given a shared hosting environment and if you could sandbox the configurations per client.
The sure way to get this setup (and the method I've used for the past few years) is to get yourself a dedicated box (which can be had for less than 100 dollars, especially given the processor limitation on the LCDS licensing) and get yourself a license for CF8 while they're still available.  CF9 will still support LCDS integration, but the install isn't seamless like it is with CF8.  During the install process for CF8 you can choose to install LCDS and after a bit of configuration you're all set.

This certification is currently being evaluated for upgrade to a new version. At this time, I cannot give a definitive answer about whether or not there will be an EE 6 version. We also do not have any info on retirement of the EE 5 version. I don't expect that this certification will retire terribly soon, as it is still getting a good amount of traffic. I'm sorry, I realize that my answer is not very informative or helpful, but that is the only info I have at this time. If you are interested in this certification, I would recommend that you go ahead and go for it. Even if we do end up retiring the certification path, the certification remains valid. It remains on your list of certifications in CertView and you can continue to use the OCM logo.
If you are worried about getting 1/2 way through the path and having the path retire, I can tell you that we typically provide at least 3 months notice for a retiring exam/certification path. This path may require extra time because of the length of time that it takes to complete this certification path. Whenever this certification path is set to retire, we will make every effort to contact all candidates who are working on the certification at that time, so always be sure that your email address is updated and correct in your Pearson VUE profile.

  • Turning off data services

Hi, I was just wondering why you can't use wi-fi when you select to turn data services off. The problem is, is that for this 1 month I don't have unlimited data so need to make sure I don't spend much. Also will any services try to use the data service without user interaction? Thanks for your help

    chrislee_88 wrote:
Whenever i turn data services off though it seems to also turn wi-fi off somehow.
It connects to a network however whenever i try to use anything it comes up with 'Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later.' The wi-fi diagnostics menu also says that the 'IP address no longer valid'
Whenever i turn data services back on wi-fi goes back to normal. Weird.
I have a feeling that you don't have the browser set as a Hotspot browser, then.
Even if you turn off Data Services, your Wifi Hotspot browser should work fine. I have one Bold device with no SIM even it, in which I can access and browse the internet on it via only WiFi using the Hotspot browser.

  • Aqualogic Data Services Question

    Hello,
I have recently downloaded BEA's Aqualogic Data Services 3.2 suite. We have requirement which requires that we effect CRUD operations on one table from another. Data sources have been created in WebLogic Server to this purpose. Within the Data Services suite, the necessary physical data services have also been set up - one for the source table and another for the target table. I am able to view the data within these tables by using the "Test" facilities, as provided uder the "Test" tab relevant to each of the physical data services. Both tables have the same exact number of attributes, and the type of attributes are exactly the same (i.e.: attribute 1: varchar2(20), attribute 2: varchar2(150)), so no complexity there.
I would now like to poll the the source table (physical data source) and effect the required Create/Update/Delete operation operation in the target table (physical data source).
    How can this be done?
Any useful answer to my question, or reference to a thorough document describing an answer would be greatly appreciated.
    I thank you in advance.

Currently there is no DB adapter for Oracle Service Bus (AquaLogic) This should be avaliable early 2009. Although it may be some support for this in the 100 day release due this month, I forget what has been promissed in which release.
Therfore you would need some external app to do the polling and invoke the AquaLogic. If you have Oracle SOA Suite you could use ESB or BPEL to do this then invoke AquaLogic.
There is this link that creates a transport for Oracle PL/SQL which may be of some use.

  • Data services unavailable using just wi-fi

I ve got my first bb just a few months ago and I ve got some problems when trying to access any msg using just a wi-fi connection while I am at my work. I live in Venezuela but I work on a vessel offshore in Angola.
At home everything on my bb works fine , I can manually switch off the mobile network and I still can have access to all the messengers using just my home wi-fi connection.
On the vessel I can not get any mobile coverage but we have a wi-fi network connection, now when using this wi-fi network only the browser works. Every time I try to log in into any messenger I get this message " Data services unavailable".
Here in Angola the blackberry services are not available yet with any provider so I wonder if this could be the reason, even though I am using just a wi-fi connection.?
    Thanks in advance

    Just to clarify...
I am located in Toronto and our carriers here
    a) Always make you sign up for some sort of BB package with the activation of a new handset (i.e. free or discounted prices on 3-year contracts)
    b) Canadian carriers also offer two to three types of packages: Data OR Email/IM OR Social Packages which gives you access to Facebook, My Space, and other similar applications.

First (and somewhat unrelated) - how come the "update" errors? Aren't you just trying to read it? You should probably be using "function" instead of "procedure" in your dataservice. You should only be using procedure (XQSE) if you are updating. Not that this is related to your problem - it's just something you should know.
Now for the REF CURSOR. You need to figure out what columns are being returned, and then define a schema to match, then use that schema as the definition. If you are lucky, the REF CURSOR will actually be a cursor from selecting on a table. If that is the case, you can create a new physical data service based on that table - which will result in a schema being created with the same name as the table. Then create a new physical data service based on the stored procudure, the type of that parameter should appear as "Unknown". Edit the parameter types and specify the type in the schema that was generated for the table.

  • Flex Data Services JOTM, JTA and JMX downloads

I am not a Java developer. I am an Information Architect/UI
Designer and up until a few months ago, I designed GUIs using MS
Studio.Net -- Tomcat is a little different IIS, to say the least.
    =)
I have downloaded the trial software of Flex Builder 2 and
Flex Data Services to test it with intent to purchase.
I was getting real happy with Flex Builder 2. Breezing
through the "Getting Started" and all the tutorials. Absolutely
    Love it.
Then along comes Flex Data Services. This application has
bought me to a screeching halt.
I've downloaded the files according to the instructions at:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flex/2/install.html#flexj2ee.
I placed the files in my webapps directory running on tomcat.
However, according to the instructions at:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flex/2/install.html#tomcat,
I need to download additional applications in order to
correctly use FDS. I have tried to download the JOTM 2.0.10.tgz
    from
    http://forge.objectweb.org/project/download.php?group_id=19&file_id=3926
without success. When I try to unzip the file (I am running
Windows XP Professional), I get the following error:
"Error reading header after processing 0 entries."
I've tried to download three different versions of JOTM, no
luck. Our Java developer suggested that I save the "tar" file as a
"zip" file and try to open it after download. However, when I try
to open the archive in WinZip it returns this error:
"Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive.
If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again."
Both of these errors occur when trying to open the downloaded
JOTM 2.0.10.tgz and JOTM 2.0.8.tgz files.
How can I get these applications? Has anyone had any success
    in downloading these files from:
    http://forge.objectweb.org/project/showfiles.php?group_id=19&release_id=1024
The downloaded archive files are empty. I can not run any of
    the Data Service samples.
    When I tried at:
    http://localhost:8080/samples/dataservice/flexcab/flexcabDispatcher.mxml
A service error prompt returns: "Unable to access
    UserTransaction in Dataservice".
I'm assuming this is because the JOTM (et. al) is not on my
box, because the archive is empty when I try to open it in WinZip.
Also, while I was reading the installation instructions for
    Tomcat at:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flex/2/install.html#tomcat
it seems pretty complicated for a non-Java programmer to
understand. I asked one of our 6-year veteran Java developers here
to help me with this and he said it was a pretty a complicated
process for someone w/o Java programming experience. I thought it
was geared towards front-end developers. But he did say that if I
can't download the JOTM, I won't be able to do whatever it is that
Flex Data Services is supposed to do. I say the latter because I am
still in the "Getting Started" manual going through the last of the
tutorials (which is the Flex Data Services distributed application
tutorial) before I start reading "Using Flex", so I'm not really
sure what lessons I will be doing that require FDS to work
    correctly on my box.
Do I really need the FDS to build interactive applications in
    Flex Builder?
I appreciate your answers. Thanks in advance.

I agree with you about the process of getting FDS installed
and working. I recommend that you try Christophe Coenraets FDMS
tutorial. The JOTM files are in "tar" format, and so I think you'll
have to extract them using a "tar" utility. This is included with
any Unix variant, and so I asked someone at work to extract the
files; on Windows I think you'll have to find a free "tar" program.
I downloaded jotm-2.0.10.tar from the JOTM Sourceforge. Use
parameters "-xf" if the tar file is not compressed, or "-zxf" if it
    is compressed. Good luck!

  • Restart Data Services 3.2 fails

I can not access  trace log, monitor log and error log files. Every time accessing through links I get a time out error. The Server is available and accessible. I just tried to restart the BusinessObjects Data Service - Server through the BO-DS-Servermanager. This has not worked. I can not restart the service "BusinessObjects Data Services".
This Error occures : Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
This happened sometime last months. When I restart the server then all is ok again.
How can I restart the service without reboot?

    Hello,
    1. What is the version of the Microsoft .NET Framework? (Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs).
    2. What is the error message in Event Viewer (Start > Run > eventvwr.msc)?
    3. What user run this service (Start > Run > services.msc > Business Objects Data Services > Properties > Log On tab)?
    4. Is Data Execution Prevention disabled? (My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Data Execution Prevention tab)?
    Thank you,
    Viacheslav.

  • Scheduling an automatic Jobs in Data Services

    Dear Experts,
could you please explain how to schedule an automatic job in Data Services?
I would like to be able to schedule a daily, weekly or monthly job.
Any Document which explain the steps?
    Thanks
    Pat

I would not suggest doing anything on your production data. Make change in the job as given below. Add Map operation tranform just before where you are writing to the target table. Inside map operation transform select all to discard....make sure you have selected discard for every operation codes.  In order to see what data your job is tring to write to target table. Create a template table and then join that table to tranform which is just before map operation...i...suppose you have query transform at the end and then you write to target table. Then add this query transform to map operation transform as well as to template table.
You can now get what data your job is going to write to target without writing anything to target.
Test this in dev first before trying in Production.
REMEMBER: PRODUCTION IS S SACRED SPACE AND WE DON"T WRITE UNNECESARY DATA OR DO ANY MANUPULATION IN PROD TABLES.
    Thanks,
