64-bit anyconnect on linux - problems with libraries

Hi,
we in the process of setting up Cisco Anyconenct for Linux 64-bit machines and are noticing some problems which seams to be related to the client not finding all libraries it expects. For example we got the issue that when connecting for the first time(no profile, ie no <ServerCertificateThumbprint>) the client find the Server Certificate no valid(which it is). We found out that the reson for that beeing Anyconnect was not properly using the nss-certstore for all operations. That was because the client cold not locate libnssckbi.so which was solved by:
ln -s /usr/lib64/libnssckbi.so /home/user/.mozilla/firefox/smhi.default/libnssckbi.so
Is there any other common librarie problems we should be aware of?
We are running Redhat 6 desktop.
Best regards
/Mattias

Hi,
I will reply on my own posting.
Other lib we have found it nessecary to link is:
ln -s /opt/cisco/anyconnect/lib/libcurl.so.3 /opt/cisco/anyconnect/lib/libcurl.so
Also, if running a 32-bit Anyconnect client on a 64-bit OS (which currently would be nessecary if you would like to run host-scan/securedesktop/posture) is:
Create /usr/local/firefox with links
     [a001375@c14446 firefox]$ ls -la

lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root   16 Oct 31 17:00 libnspr4.so -> /lib/libnspr4.so

lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root   21 Oct 31 17:00 libsmime3.so -> /usr/lib/libsmime3.so
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root   23 Oct 31 17:00 libsoftokn3.so -> /usr/lib/libsoftokn3.so
I can also share that I recieved an e-mail the other day from a nice fellow that would let us know they had produced a .SPEC-file for buliding AnyConnect RPMs.
Very usefull, thanks a lot Philip.
You will find information on that here:

  • Problems with libraries and plugins - non admin account

I''ve got a couple of problems with a fresh install of photoshop on my windows Windows 7 64 bits system.
    1. Libraries panel does not work. It displays the following error and interaction is not possible:
    2. 3rd party plugins would load their content.
    3. In the Creative Cloud Application the apps tab would load and displays the "download error" message:
The funny thing is that all the above errors don't occur on the loacl admin account. So I think this might be a permission problem. I think the most easy sollution would be to work under the admin account, but sadly that's no option (company policy). I am able to extent the rights of the useraccount I work on, but I don't know in wich folders the software needs write permissions. The both Adobe folders in program files and program files (x86) I already changed to full acces for all users. Can someone please help me?

Problems with libraries and plugins - non admin account https://forums.adobe.com/people/pippyn%20stortelder
This is a permissions Error.  The other accounts on the computer do have permissions to use / change the administrator settings of these particular items.
There are two ways you can fix this. 1.) contact the admin of the system and let him know your accounts need read access to these items
    My Preferred method is:
If you are on a Windows Account, then you can choose those items to run in Administrator mode for all people.  ( win7,64bit )
Right click the infinity system for creative cloud (creative cloud icon - you would normally click to start the program. (not the one in your service tray, but the one in your menu area with the square red on it.
    choose/click on properties
choose/click compatibility (tab at the top of the window)
Last boxed option on this screen is: Run Program As Administrator,  Click that check box.
Click on  Change Settings for All Users
in the window that comes up again choose, put an X in the box-  the last option, Run Program As Administrator - Click Apply
    Click OK
Click OK and the opened preferences window should now be closed.
You should be able to simply invoke the Cloud app now. But you might want to reboot to safe.
Depending on the installation methods used for your add-ons, you may have to perform this same process for all add-ins.  I believe that would depend on which account, first installed the add-on and what level of permissions they have.
    Good Luck

    Dear all,
I'm experiencing a problem with the package OpenSPARC T2 v. 1.2. When running the sims and regressions everything seems to goes fine, but the simv is not created and the regression tests not executed.
I'm getting error when link is searching for libstdc++. I mean, I'm compiling all the stuff on a 64 bit machine, so I have 64 bit stdc++ library, but within the Makefile in csrc of the simv model there's the flag -m32.

  • New Computer 64 Bit W7 Home Premium - problem with Ext HD E/: says in use

Brand new computer with Windows Home Premium 7 64 bit and then added this ext HD and downloaded clean new install of programs.[Now this Toshiba was E drive on previous computer which started life as XP Home and ended as Windows Premium 7 32 bit and brought
across the data. But Easy Transfer Wizard back up was corrupt. Luckily had cut and pasted as a precaution having always suffered bad backups.]
But problems arising with browsers not working correctly etc vendors say messages incorrect like windows saying re Pale Moon x64 clean install from web working then closing that its settings should be XP when the creator on being asked said was created for
W7 never XP and check for problems elsewhere. IE11 problematic too as well as Opera, Chrome and Firefox so tracked down to below or do complete re-install of system. OS is authenticated as genuine by M$. Scans MSE, SAS, Malawarebyes clean.
Ever since I installed the Ext HD a Toshiba 500B USB3.0 & 2.0 it has appeared and then disappeared on Devices & printers when there says 3.0 device checking properties unknown bu recognizes it as Toshiba.
I used it to bring over data from old computer which it did. Also for backup. Checking first backup - nonsense all data is different displays of IE11 start ups. Nothing else. Now deleted. Windows also said not compatible. And windows is continually
loading drivers to this device. I think that is what is the cause of its disappearance - shut down and boot sometimes back, sometimes not. Yet scanners find it when when not available.
OK so now how do I get Windows 7 to eject the drive and then try to put it on and get it recognized and working correctly. Because it could be why also backup corrupt. I have formatted it now and transferred all needed over to C Drive. I am not sure what
happens with this re drivers - it came without any software say plug and play and drag and drop ready for use with Windows.
If I can get this working correctly it will save me a complete re-install. As hate to do that and then find same problem with the External Drive. AfAIK no problems with it formatted now and ready to go and no bad areas.
Has to be this continual bringing down of a driver and fact checking Windows cant find it on list of compatibles. Vendor says it is.

Thanks I had already run Check disc and contacted Toshiba and it has correct driver. Definitely a problem with the actual system disc.
I have also completed website asking for my model to be added to compatible sites and just have to hope seeing as no direct contact available, must be only company in the world that gets away with that.
Managed to work around the E/: problem by adding it to Libraries and then cut and pasted the whole date files and photos ready for new disc.
Backup simply is corrupted so also the wizard to find new device- wont search or load and greyed out,  so have arranged with manufacturer for a new disc - the one I should have bought at the time instead of using the upgrade.
With the Device & Printer  device it says I have the keyboard 3000, a compliant mouse and and a HID keyboard device as well as M$ wireless transceiver and of course a 3.0 unknown device which is E Drive. So along with monitor and computer tower
    7.
The keyboard is wired via a USB and only the mouse is wireless via the transceiver. So what the HID keyboard device is is a mystery too. So problem there in that wizard too. Plus had to uninstall Mouse/Keyboard ?Centre which improved the performance of the
mouse as 1 setting not 2.

From the testing I did, it appears to have these problems for most of the C++ programs I have written, especially the ones that involve object oriented programming. All programs that I wrote do not have these problems with g++ or Sun CC for Solaris. It does however work fine only for small fraction of the programs I have written. I dont quite understand why it works in some cases and others it doesnt, but I know for sure, that it should be working for all cases when Sun CC from Sun Studio 10 on Solaris 10 for X86 has no problems compiling the same programs.

Can someone please respond? There is more to the problem. Perhaps
there are more glibc headers that have problems. In addition, if Sun wants to port the Sun Studio Compilers for linux to be stable on all linux distributions I suggest using VM ware and installing several linux distrobutions as virtual machines and testing this software on each virtual machine to see the problems that occur on each distribution. That way you might be able to uncover more problems to find a solution that will work best for portability on all linux distributions.

  • 64-bit LabVIEW - still major problems with large data sets

    Hi Folks -
I have LabVIEW 2009 64-bit version running on a Win7 64-bit OS with Intel Xeon dual quad core processor, 16 gbyte RAM.  With the release of this 64-bit version of LabVIEW, I expected to easily be able to handle x-ray computed tomography data sets in the 2 and 3-gbyte range in RAM since we now have access to all of the available RAM.  But I am having major problems - sluggish (and stoppage) operation of the program, inability to perform certain operations, etc.
Here is how I store the 3-D data that consists of a series of images. I store each of my 2d images in a cluster, and then have the entire image series as an array of these clusters.  I then store this entire array of clusters in a queue which I regularly access using 'Preview Queue' and then operate on the image set, subsets of the images, or single images.
    Then enqueue:
I remember talking to LabVIEW R&D years ago that this was a good way to do things because it allowed non-contiguous access to memory (versus contigous access that would be required if I stored my image series as 3-D array without the clusters) (R&D - this is what I remember, please correct if wrong).
Because I am experiencing tremendous slowness in the program after these large data sets are loaded, and I think disk access as well to obtain memory beyond 16 gbytes, I am wondering if I need to use a different storage strategy that will allow seamless program operation while still using RAM storage (do not want to have to recall images from disk).
I have other CT imaging programs that are running very well with these large data sets.
This is a critical issue for me as I move forward with LabVIEW in this application.   I would like to work with LabVIEW R&D to solve this issue.  I am wondering if I should be thinking about establishing say, 10 queues, instead of 1, to address this.  It would mean a major program rewrite.
    Sincerely,
    Don

First, I want to add that this strategy works reasonably well for data sets in the 600 - 700 mbyte range with the 64-bit LabVIEW.
With LabVIEW 32-bit, I00 - 200 mbyte sets were about the limit before I experienced problems.
So I definitely noticed an improvement.
I use the queuing strategy to move this large amount of data in RAM.   We could have used other means such a LV2 globals.  But the idea of clustering the 2-d array (image) and then having a series of those clustered arrays in an array (to see the final structure I showed in my diagram) versus using a 3-D array I believe even allowed me to get this far using RAM instead of recalling the images from disk.
I am sure data copies are being made - yes, the memory is ballooning to 15 gbyte.  I probably need to have someone examine this code while I am explaining things to them live.  This is a very large application, and a significant amount of time would be required to simplify it, and that might not allow us to duplicate the problem.  In some of my applications, I use the in-place structure for indexing
data out of arrays to minimize data copies.  I expect I might have to
consider this strategy now here as well.  Just a thought.
What I can do is send someone (in US) via large file transfer a 1.3 - 2.7 gbyte set of image data - and see how they would best advise on storing and extracting the images using RAM, how best to optimize the RAM usage, and not make data copies.  The operations that I apply on the images are irrelevant.  It is the storage, movement, and extractions that are causing the problems.  I can also show a screen shot(s) of how I extract the images (but I have major problems even before I get to that point),
Can someone else comment on how data value references may help here, or how they have helped in one of their applications?  Would the use of this eliminate copies?   I currently have to wait for 64-bit version of the Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit for LabVIEW 2010 before I can move to LabVIEW 2010.
    Don

  • Problem with libraries forms 10G

    Hi,
I work in a company that bought a system done in Oracle. Actually we're using forms and reports 6i, but we are going to migrate to the Forns/reports 10g .
We already have the archives of the new version, the problem is that we must turn our own products to the new version but putting new libraries, and when treatment to compile them, these do not work. The compiler sends errors like
    Error PL/SQL 201 identifier
    'GORDMSK.GORDMSK_DISPLAY_IND' must be declared
I do not understand why, because this libraries was provided by the company that developed the system.
Our forms already have been turned through the Oracle migration assistant, the problem are the libraries.
    somebody can help me?

I'm confused. Is what your saying is that you took the libraries (10g) from the bought system and attached them to your application (6i)?

  • Strange problem with the mail app on an iPad

I've got a bit of a strange problem with the mail app on an iPad - it's sending and receiving mail ok but won't let you delete mail. If you keep at it, it appears as if you have deleted mail (though takes a very long time as you just have to keep deleting it over and over again) -  but the size of the app still keeps going up - reached 600mb so far, even though there is hardly any mail or attachments (goes up quite a lot each time you try to delete anything) - any idea what's causing this and how I can fix it?
It occasionally comes up with a dialogue panel saying to check my account settings, but I have checked those and they are fine. The little 'loading' icon just keeps spinning constantly too.

go to Settings > Mail > your account > Advanced > Move Discarded Messages Into
and make sure that Deleted Mailbox is ticked, and not Archive Mailbox
You can also adjust how long the deleted mail stays in the trash immediately below that.
If you are talking about a gmail account, you may also have to login to your account on the gmail server and update the settings there.  This is what Barney previously posted about that:

  • Attention! About problems with Oracle 8.1.6 on newer Linux distributions!!

Hello all, I've just got some feedback from a helful person at http://www.crunge.com/ about the problems concerning RedHat Linux 7.0 and Oracle 8.1.6, this MAY apply to other newer linux distributions.
    I've tried, without luck, to install Oracle on RedHat 7.0 and Slackware 7 (the newest one), and it would not install properly, kept stopping right about when the database initialization started at 80% finished install procedure. Sp i wrote them a mail, not expecting an answer really, but I did got an answer, and below is what the person said;
    Thanks for the feedback.
Oracle 8.1.6 does not work under Red Hat Linux 7. Yes, that's the problem
that I mentioned in the doc--you get to 80% and the DBCA crashes and the
    Oracle executables die.
I've heard, but I haven't tried it myself, that if you install the latest
glibc errata (2.1.94) then the DBCA completes but the Oracle executables
still die. The DBCA problem was apparently a Java issue that is fixed in
the errata. But you're still out of luck since the exes won't work.
It might appear that this is a problem with Red Hat Linux 7. But it appears
that it is a problem with some assumptions that Oracle made, assumptions
that worked with glibc 2.1.3 (the C library included with RHL 6.2) but which
prove false with later glibc versions. As other Linux distributions adopt
the new glibc Oracle will fail to work on them as well.
The best advice I can give at this point is to install and run Oracle on
Red Hat Linux 6.2. Hopefully Oracle will address the glibc issues with the
    8.1.7 release.
    Chris
    p.s. Do not construe this
as an official Red Hat response; I merely forwarded your e-mail from my
home account. This response and the web pages I put up are mine.
So i guess one sollution to the problem is to try a bit older version of the linux you are having problems with (i tried it on RH 6.1 and it worked like a dream).
Another solution can be to wait it out to check and see if Oracle put a fix out here on technet...?
Hope this helps people bogged down in fustration.

Hey all. Just to let you know that it is entierly possible to get Oracle to install under RedHat 7 and run happily. I have done it on two differenct machines. There is a bit of fooling with glibc to get it to work. However after you do that it works like a dream. VALinux has a work around posted at: http://ftp.valinux.com/pub/support/hjl/glibc/sdk/2.1/
The READEME.Oracle8i has the work around and the two tar balls are the necessary files. I followed the directions to the letter and they worked like a dream. Any questions feel free to drop me a line.

OK, so i followed your instructions to the letter (several times), sure I get past the 80% bug but now I have new erros coming up , -"Error in invoking target install of makefile /usr/oracle/sqlplus/lib/ins_sqlplus.mk". I get a whole series of these errors for various mk files. These errors apear during the link phase of the install, prior to the glibc workaround I was not getting this. I am a newbie to Linux and trying to give it a serious go but so far I have had little luck
    Any help appreciated.

  • Problem with OCI call  and  how to install and use 'DEBUG_EXTPROC' on Linux

    Hi,
Can any one let me know how I can install and use this debug_extproc package. I have installed oracle XE server on Linux machine(32-bit).
When I use : DEBUG_EXTPROC.STARTUP_EXTPROC_AGENT' ... i get an error saying that : it is not declared.
I tried looking in all the directories but did not find the dbgextp.sql(which is required in order to install that package). And tried searching on google but could not get any relevant information.
Also I am newbie to OCI call interface and also to C programming too: I have coded a external procedure or custom user aggregate in C. But since I was using C++ : 'set' STL. I have compiled my program using g++ instead of gcc and I have correspondingly modified the make file in public/demo directory.
So, is it fine to do it that way: using OCI (instead of OCCI(C++)) but again compiling the pgm as a regular C++ using g++ instead of gcc.(But rest of the pgm including printf statements : everything is in C).
Also I have created the library from my : custagg.so library:
SQL> create or replace library custagg is '$ORACLE_HOME/lib/custagg.so'
But my aggregate function implemented as external C function using OCI is either not recognised or else : if recognized then there is some error because of which i am getting the following errors : ORA-06522
    SQL> select MinDistance(TT) from egg1;
    select MinDistance(TT) from egg1
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-06520: PL/SQL: Error loading external library
    ORA-06522: /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/lib/custagg.so:
    cannot dynamically load executable
Please kindly answers my queries and trying to resolve this for almost 4 days now and could not find any clue on how to get this done.
    Thanks,

I am really new to C & OCI ... if the custagg.so is being located then there might be some problem with the way I am dynamically allocating memory to some variables.

  • Problems with non-ASCII characters on Linux Unit Test Import

I found a problem with non-ASCII characters in the Unit Test Import for Linux.  This problem does not appear in the Unit Test Import for Windows.
I have attached a Unit Test export called PROC1.XML  It tests a procedure that is included in another attachment called PROC1.txt. The unit test includes 2 implementations.  Both implementations pass non-ASCII characters to the procedure and return them unchanged.
In Linux, the unit test import will change the non-ASCII characters in the XML file to xFFFD. If I copy/paste the the non-ASCII characters into the Unit Test after the import, they will be stored and executed correctly.

  • Problems with auto upgrade Anyconnect 3.1

    Hello,
I'm having problem with auto upgrade of Anyconnect 2.5 to 3.1.
    Here is the situation :
I have ASA5510 running ASA 8.4.5 and clients are running Anyconnect 2.5.3055 and 3.1.00495 with 2 different profiles.
Clients with 2.5 can upgrade to 3.1 but then receive an "Invalid host entry" when they try to connect with new client. It works if they use FQDN instead of profiles. It's the same situation with Windows 7, Mac OS X and linux.
If I configure client software back to 2.5 on ASA, it works again for every client.
Do you have an idea ?
    Thanks for your reply.
    Yann

I have seen the same behavior on Mac OS X. A couple of points for me:
If I delete the profiles from /opt/cisco/anyconnect/profile then I can connect once (using the FQDN) but it then downloads the client profile and on next attempted connection it receives "invalid host entry." My profiles use the FQDN of my ASA and both forward and reverse DNS resolution are configured properly.
My workaround is to remove the AnyConnect Client Profile entirely, but I can get away with that because I have a very simple setup, with all users in one default group. If I had to pass different profile information to different users that would not be a solution.
Second, better workaround: I just exported the client profile, imported it under a different name, edited the new client profile to remove the server address, and assigned the new profile to the group policy. At their next login, users get all the profile settings and since the client remembers the FQDN they used to connect it doesn't adversely affect the user experience.

  • Problem with BO XI R2 ODBC drivers on Linux

I have a customer with BO XI R2 SP1 installed on 64-bit Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9) with an Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 database (on another 64-bit SLES9 server) for the CMS and Auditor repository databases.
I can successfully connect to, and run WebI reports from, Oracle and DB2 UDB databases running on other 64-bit SLES9 servers.
The problem I have is trying to connect to, and run WebI reports from, a SQL Server 2005 database running on 64-bit Windows Server 2003 R2 SE SP1 using ODBC from the 64-bit SLES9 server that hosts the BO XI R2 SP1 installation.
Iu2019ve got as far as the ODBC driver trying to connect to SQL Server 2005 but it fails with the error that the user I supplied is not a Trusted Connection.
Has anyone been able to get BO XI R2 ODBC (running on 64-bit SLES9) to work successfully with SQL Server 2005?
If u201Cyesu201D, can you please tell me what I need to do, including the odbc.ini settings?

Well as I understand it our 1st official support for 64 bit wasn't available until XIR2 SP3. Also something to keep an eye out for is the oracle DB version you are using. There is at least 1 known issue with 10.2.0.3.0 causes our LDAP to fail. You may want to try rolling back to 10.2.0.2.0.
