7.01 ABAP Server Installation hanging at 'Configure login information..'

Hello,
I have installed the 7.01 Java engine first and then started with the ABAP engine. The ABAP installation process keeps hanging with the following data:
Configuring login information....
database NSP created successfully Fr, Dec 11, 2008 at 19:16:56
64%
Did anybody encounter a similiar problem?
Thanks and regards,
ulli

Hello Ulli,
could you solve this problem? Unfortunately, I encountered the same

  • ABAP Trial Installation Hanging at Configuring Login Information

I have a Windows Server 2003 machine that I want to install the SAP NetWeaver Java and ABAP Trial versions on (yes the same machine).  I've downloaded everything I need and have successfully installed the Java version without a problem.
Everything seems to be running perfectly.
Now, when I try to install the ABAP version it gets passed creating the database with: "database NSP created successfully Tu, Jul 14, 2009 at 11:28:08"
Now it's onto step "Configuring login information..." @ 52% and it's just sitting here - it's now 1:17 so it's been here for about 2 hours now with no progress movement.
I tried looking for a logfile and I can't find one anywhere so I'm not sure what exactly the installer is doing.  How do I proceed to debug this to find out where the hang up is?
    Thank you!

I killed the kernel.exe process hosted the NSP database to force the installation to fail.
It looks like it's having problems with changing passwords?!  I am using the same exact password for the J2E instance as this NSP instance (the password is similar to:  Dhgy123#).  I did read that "@" symbols were a problem - perhaps "!" is as well?!
The following is part of the end of the log file:

  • Installation hangs at "Configuring devices."

Solaris 10 6/06 Installation hangs at "Configuring devices." stage.
    I have tried to:

    and with combinations of these.
    But nothings helps.
    My system:
    Intel Core Duo 6400 @2.13GHz,

Does anyone know workaround for this issue?

i have exactly the same problem.

  • MacOS 10.4 Server installation hangs at language selection

When I rubn the MacOS 10.4 Server installer, it hangs at the language selection menu. This occurs regardless of how I start the installer (either by booting directly from the installer DVD or from within MacOS 10.4 client.) The hardware is a PowerMac G4 (Digital Audio.)
    Help!

Are you able to use the same install DVD on another system (you wouldn't need to go through the whole process, just to eliminate that the DVD is defective).
If you are verify that the DVD is good, you still may have a problem with the DVD on the PowerMac you are trying to install on.
Also be sure that the latest firmware for the system you are installing is up to date.

  • Abap server proxy on IS configured as HUB

    Hi,
    My scenario is;
web serv. client (soap) => XI srv => abap proxy
In the abap proxy I want to return some binary data as attachment. Seems to me that I'm not allowed to execute
    abap proxy on the XI IS since the error msg is;
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">

      <SAP:Retry>N</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
The engine type is configured as HUB.
Can someone confirm this, or is it something I can do?
    best regards
    Torstein

    Hi,
    >>>>Are there any configuration settings need to be done for using same client.
yes there's one: TCODE - SXMB_ADM - integration engine config
if you set your client as HUB then you cannot use proxies
if you set it as application server then you can use proxies
but this is not a problem how can you use proxies on the same client but why?
XI is an integration server - use for message transfer not for building applications on it
XI offers many ways to communite with it but not for being an application sever itself
ERP 2004 can have XI on the same instance (server)
but you also need to use another client to work with XI
so most probably this will not change
the conclusion: build your applications on applicaiton servers (r3 for instance) and leave XI for message transfer only
    Hope it clears a little

  • Business Intellingence Application Server installation hangs !!!

hello i am trying to install the Oracle Business intelligence 10g Server( the BI components of the AS 10g ) on a Windows XP machine.I know its not supported but no where they say you should not install it, they only say not recommended .
I successfully installed one instance on one machine, but while installing on a second one the Oracle Universal installer just froze at "java security configuration assistant", looking in the log file i found
" Start output from spawned process:
    Oracle JAAS [Mon Feb 05 10:37:14 EET 2007]: invoking command:C:\BIToolsHome\ASPlus\dcm\bin\dcmctl.bat resyncInstance "
With nothing , no errors no output nothing !!
and it stayed like that for almost an hour and when i tried to stop this component's configuration also no action occured until i decided to stop the installation becasue i had no choice, i couldnt go forward i couldnt go back and i couldnt cancel either , so i forcively terminated the installation . And when i tried to uninstall , also nothing happened the installer just froze again !
i am trying now to manually complete the configuration using the other machine's log file.
I have googled for this and seen many occurences of the problem but no specific answer, if anybody could help me i'll be grateful.
    Thanks

    Hello again
this is crazy, i have tried to uninstall the instance following the instructions you gave me Keith but i couldn't , the uninstal process also froze !! can you believe that !
it stopped right at the "Deinstall Products" step of Universal installer with a message saying that i have to run "<ORALCE_HOME>\perl\5.6.1\bin\MSWin32-x86\perl.exe <ORALCE_HOME>\bin\deconfig.pl" before proceeding with the uninstallation in order to properly deconfigure the instance, and that after having this completed,i can continue.
When i ran the command i got (C:\BIToolsHome\ASPlus is my ORACLE_HOME)
    C:/BIToolsHome/ASPlus/jdk/bin/java -classpath C:/BIToolsHome/ASPlus/jlib/DeconfigWrapper.jar;C:/BIToolsHome/ASPlus/jlib/ldapjclnt10.jar;C:/BIToolsHome/ASPlus/jlib/ojmisc.jar;C:/BIToolsHome/ASPlus/opmn

    Home/ASPlus -osso false
    OIDhost not found in ias.properties
equired parameter OIDhost was not found in ias.properties. This means that this Oracle Home is not registered with Oracle Internet Directory. To deinstall this Oracle Home, you do not have to run this tool. Instead, you can just run Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) and select the "Deinstall" option.
so far so good, i returned to the OUI and sat their for an hour and nothing happened , it kept displaying the Remove window with the progressing bar stopped at "Synchronizing inventory" (actually the bar never moved it's always at 0)
    and that's it !!
    can you beat that ?!
and Michael believe me i will never install this software again

  • IPhone SDK 7 installation hangs on "configuring installation"

I'm running an iMac 20" Intel, 10.5.3, and a previous iPhone SDK. I've the installer all night, but to no avail.

  • 10.5.3 hangs on "configuring installation" - any ideas please?

Have a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo.
Downloaded the 10.5.3 upgrade to Leopard, restarted, (3 times now) and watch the installer hang at "configuring installation".
    Any ideas please?

We had the same problem with updating one of our G5s. However, after selecting the install and quit button the computer froze up. Now, we can't get the computer to boot up AT ALL. It hangs at the grey screen with the apple and rotating gear. But nothing after that. I have been successful only once to get it to boot up in safe mode, but can't since then.
These are the things I have tried:
    Replaced the internal battery
Tried to start up holding down shift key (safe mode)
Booted up on the eDrive that Tech Tools created and ran all the diagnostics (nothing)
Ran Disk Utility: When verifying permissions it came up with a few errors, but didn't fix any of them. Said that the disk (harddrive) couldn't be "unmounted" therefor couldn't fix anything.

  • CRM 2015 installation hangs without errors on Windows Server 2012 installed in a VM

I have installed a Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 on a VM using VMware Player and then installed Dynamics CRM 2013, working out all the configuration problems.
The installation hanged once without errors and when I tried it again it was installed, no problems. Dynamics CRM 2013 works without issue.
Then I copied the machine, uninstalled the Dynamics CRM 2013 and started installing CRM 2015. However this time without errors the installation hangs even though I tried more than 5 times.
There are no errors, installation program is not unresponsive and task manager shows nothing out of the ordinary.
I have also tried this on multiple physical and virtual PCs to no avail.

Try to Delete the registry files of CRM before you start the installation : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMSCRM

  • SQL Server Express 2012 SP2 installation hangs during extract phase

    Greetings!
I am having an issue with trying to silent install SQL Server Express 2012 SP2 (x86).
I have a proprietary installation framework, which is calling the SQL Server Express installer.
The SQL Server Express installer starts extracting files to c:\{some guid}. The folder reaches about 11 mb in size, and then nothing further happens. No activity on the machine, CPU or disk - I have waited up to 15 minutes to verify this. On the normal installation,
the size of this folder is ~650 mb.
Here are the things I've also tested:
    - I'm experiencing these symptoms on both Windows 7 and Windows Server 2012 R2 (haven't tested other platforms)
    - If I launch exactly the same command from the command prompt, the installation goes through as normal
    - If I replace the SQL Server Express 2012 SP2 with SQL Server Express 2012 SP1, and install via our installation framework, the installation goes through as normal
    - I have checked and double-checked that our installation framework is started with administrative privileges.
    - From my previous search attempts, I have seen issues where the installer would hang or fail when launched from inside an msi, which would result in a log in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\<something something>. These are not the symptoms
I am experiencing. The C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\ folder is not even created!
Any suggestions, or places I can look to figure out why it's not proceeding? For now, I have worked around the issue by including SP1 instead of SP2, but ideally I'd like to base my solution on the most recent service pack.

    Hello Alberto!
The installation framework does check for this. I'm also certain that these prerequisites are fulfilled.
When the SQL Server process hangs, I can kill the process, copy/paste the exact command that was executed from the installation framework's log files, and execute that command in a command prompt - and then the installation runs as expected.
The installation framework installs SQL Server Express correctly if I use the 2008 R2 SP1 express or the 2012 SP1 Express installer. It's just the SP2 installer that is giving me problems.
The only difference I can think of is that the installation framework is a 32-bit process, which calls the SQL Server installer, while the command prompt is a 64-bit application. I am installing the SQLEXPR_x86_ENU.exe
from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=43351, so it should be compatible with my 32 bit environment -
"SQLEXPR_x86 is the same product but supports installation onto both 32-bit and 64-bit (WoW) operating systems"
    Tomorrow, I will try:
    - Installing on Windows 7 32-bit
    - Trying to launch the SQL Server installer from a powershell (x86) prompt, to emulate a 32-bit environment on a 64-bit machine

  • VM Server installer does not recognize RAID configuration in Intel ESRT2

    Hello,
I'm having a big issue here trying to deploy my third Oracle VM Server.
    I have:
    - A Intel Server Board S3420GPLC
    - A Intel Xeon X3440 processor
    - 16GB DDR3 ECC Memory
    - Six 1TB Hard Drives
    What I'm trying to do:
    - Create a RAID array using Intel ESRT2 (Embedded Server RAID Technology II) using all the discs (done)
    - Install Oracle VM Server into the array
    - Install some VMs....
    The problems:
    - When I boot the VM Server installer from USB stick I got an error saying that there is not enought memory. This issue is solved by typing "linux mem=15GB"
    - I got a screen per disk warning me about that the discs need to be initialized and all the data will be lost
    - When I go to the disk partitioning screen all the disks are listed separated, the installer simply don't recognize the RAID configured before.
    What I already tryied:
    - Change the RAID controller from ESRT2 to Intel Matrix
    -> Didn't solve.
    - Create a Driver Disk with the disk images supplied by Intel here
-> I launch the installer using "linux mem=15GB noprobe=ata1 noprobe=ata2 ....". When Im asked by the installer to load the drivers it doesn't recognize the disk, so i couldn't load the drivers.
    Now, the questions:
    - Is there another driver I can use do make the vm server installer recognize the RAId configured?
    - Is there a better way to setup this server, considering that it needs to be "self contanied" (store and run vms)?
Edited by: xyp on 14/10/2010 11:37

    So...
    - I have installed VM Server into ordinary linux partitions on the first disk.
    - I have created a big partition in the first disc with the space not used for the VM Server
    - I have created five equal partitions on the other discs
    - I have configured software raid 10 using mdadm
Now the problem seems to be solved, i have a storage repository with almost 3TB and can deploy my VMs.
Unfortunatelly only my windows 2008 r2 hardware virtualized vm is working, the linux paravitualized guests not. but this new issue will be a subject for another topic.

  • B1DIEvent Service on Windows Server 2008 x64 - installation hanging

I'm trying to install the B1DIEvent Service on a Windows 2008 x64 Server but the installation is not completing. It does create the directories in the SAP folder but the installer hangs at roughly 95%.
It seems to not be able to register the service on the server.
Does anyone know if there would be compatability issues with Wondows 2008 Server x64? Or are there any speciffic steps that I can take to install this?
I have installed MSMQ on the server.
    Any help would be appreaciated.
    Best wishes
    Edu van Zyl

    Hi Edu,
Did you followed the instructions compiled in the other threads showing how to recompile the dll???
Just follow step by step what is described there, it should work.
DI EVENT SERVICE ON 64 SERVER
    1. Change compilation option to x64
    2. You have to replace the following 2 lines modified marked with:
    char msg[ 398 ]; // Old was mgs[378]
    sock, msg, 398, 0, (const struct sockaddr*)&sAddr, sizeof(struct
    sockaddr_in));
    3. Replace the old dll by the new one compiled
    4. Don't forget to register the dll (after compiling and copying in the right folder):
    C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64>regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\SAP Business
One DI Event Service\SAP Business One DI Event Server\SBO_SP_TransactionNotification\B1DIEventsSender.dll"
