7 digit dialing on FXO lines for UC320W

Located in the Jacksonville, FL USA area, cannot seem to create a dial plan for 7 digit dialing. Area code is (904) and I don't see an option where to change from 10 digit to 7 digit outbound dialing.
Am I missing something?

Hi lance-ten,
Please go to Region page, change the dial plan from 10-digit to 7-digit and provide the default area code which is 904 for your case. Then you need to apply the configuration to make it effect.

Wendy

  • 4 FXO lines on a 504G

So I have setup the UC320 with 4 FXO trunk lines and deployed 12 504G phones. I assumed since they are 4 line phones that they would be able to see all 4 trunk lines at the same time.
Upon getting everything configured I have discovered that the first programmable button seems to be permanently assigned to the users personal extension. Which leaves only 3 remaining buttons for shared FXO lines. So I was forced to make the 4th trunk line a hunt group with all the phones.
It's such a simple setup I'm surprised the 4 line IP phones can only actually monitor 3 of the shared trunks leaving the 4th working but hidden from view. There doesn't appear to be anyway to change or remove the first button from being the personal extension button, which I find to be redundant.
All I would like is to have the phone monitor/display the status of all 4 trunk lines on the phone. Any help for this situation? Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious here?

    Adam,
You are correct, even in Key System Mode the UC320W assigns an extension on the first line button. This allows for internal dialing between users without utilizing a Shared FXO line.
The other 3 line buttons can programmed via the UC320W.
The SPA504G is a 4 line phone and can be configured with multiple SIP based call control systems, when used with UC320W then the phone allows for 3 user programmable line buttons.

    Randy

  • Dedicated analog POTS line for the user

    Hi Experts
yesterday ....... i post the discussion about how i can reserve one analog telephone line for one of my user so whenever he make outgoing call his calls go through one particular analog line and never found busy tone .... in reply to my this query one guy tell me to use partitions and CSS ... my question is lets say if i create new partition name " test" and assign my user to this partition so he can only use it  whenever he makes PSTN dialing so his call goes through this partition and reached my GW but my GW have five different analog line's how GW came to know that the first line is reserved for all of the calls coming from this user which is assigned to this partition.
i have CUCM 8.5 and GW is Cisco 2800 series ......... i dont want my user to dial any extra digit or PIN
    Regards
    Salman

    Hi,
I assume that this is MGCP gateway
Please, try to do the following to achieve your requirment:
Create a partition named "TEST" and associate this partition with your all access CSS say XYZCSS
Create a Route Group (TEST-RG) and add one of the five analog line which you want to isolate for this user. (analog line i.e. AALN/Sx/SUx/y@abc)
Create a Route List (TEST-RL) and select the TEST-RG group.
Create a Route Pattern (Pattern .!) select Route Partition "TEST", choose the Gateway/Route List "TEST-RL" ans save
In gateway configuration for End-Point please select the Calling Search Space "XYZCSS" and the attendant DN will the user's DN
Assign the users DN in TEST Route Partition and configure the CSS as XYZCSS (this CSS will have all the other partition to rreach internal user and including the TEST partition)
Try by configuring as per the above suggestion, if you have any issue please quota me. This user will able to dial the digit directly without adding any prefix or extra digit.
I hope this will help you or will drive you to right direction.
    Thanks

  • Random 'Duplicate Digit Dialing' on SPA-2102

I have a Linksys VOIPAdapter SPA-2102 which worked fine for two years but started ‘duplicate digitdialing' from mid-October this year. While it is still working perfectly for callsto and from any US/Canada number, now it always dials "double digits"randomly AFTER getting connected to an international access number(403-260-3325) and then dialing 011 to connect overseas . For example, aftergetting connected if I dial 92-51-2256684 it instead dials 922512256684or 925512256684 or 992512256684 etc. Thus the problem startsafter dialing 13 digits, while the same settings worked fine earlier for twoyears.
I have talked extensively both to my VOIP phone service provider and theInternational Dialing service provider, but both have failed to solve theproblem. The problem is not faced if I use a softphone from my computer, confirming the problem to be in the VOIP Adapter settings. I changed my phonebut that has not solved the problem. I reset the VOIP Adapter to defaultfactory settings by dialing the 73738# code from the handset and then feedingin the settings provided by my service provider (Adminlogin-Advanced-Voice-Line 1) but problem was not solved. Tried the same with877778# code but problem stayed. Downloaded the firmware from Linksys(Cisco)website and upgraded to version 5.2.10 from 3.3.5(a) but problem still there.
Can someone help, as I amunable to dial overseas since last six weeks!

If you tried the different combinations of DTMF Transmit Method and Codec settings you tried the obvious fixes.
To persue further changes, I would download the latest firmware for the SPA2102, install it and re-enter your configuration.  If you are currently running the latest firmware, I would reset the firmware to factory specifications with the IVR and re-enter your configuration.  You can download the latest firmware here:
    http://www.cisco.com/cisco/web/solutions/small_business/products/firmware.html
When you send dtmf digits using the rfc2833 protocol, for each digit the protocol sends a start digit packet, then multiple packets for the digit depending on how long you hold down the key, then an end packet.  If the packets get out of sequence or lost that's when the receiving end can get an error in decoding the digit.  The packets are sent along with the voice stream packet (rtp packets).  If you made the call with XLite using the same voip provider to call the pstn number and experienced no problems whereas you consistently experienced problems with the SPA2102 then it would seem that the firmware in the SPA2102 has some difference with the XLite computer code.  As I said, by default it appears to me the XLite is using rfc2833 as a dtmf transmission method and G711u as the codec.
Several of the Betamax companies have competitive promotional rates to Pakistan.  VoipBuster is 3.0c/min, Rynga is 3.0c/min, Jumblo is 3.0c, 12voip is 3.5c/min, budgetsip is 3.3c/min, and actionvoip is 4.0c/min.  These are euro cent prices.  You could try one of these companies with your 2d line on the SPA2102.  The disadvantage here, though, is it costs 10 euros to get started which is close to $16 Canadian, they can change the rates without warning, and they offer zero customer support.
You could also try a different voip provider to call the pstn number as a test to see if that made any difference.  You can get a pay-as-you-go account with CallCentric for a $5 (US) deposit.  With CallCentric, calls to a Canadian PSTN number are 0.0198 (US) per minute.

  • FXO line in use voltage

I have an incoming POTS line connection to an FXO port on a 1760 gateway. This POTS line is only providing -24 voltage rather than the normal -48 voltage. This seems to be preventing the FXO interface on the router from sending DTMF that is acceptable to the POTS line. I have read that I need to change the FXO line in use voltage on the gateway to a lower value in order to allow DTMF to pass correctly to the POTS line. Does anyone know how to change the FXO line in use voltage, or know if it is possible to convert the -24 to -48 between the FXO port and POTS line?
    Thank you,

Nick, to my knowledge the router never detects dial-tone, although the vpm debug print a string to that effect.
What the router does for outgoing calls, is detecting current loop after going off-hook. So for example when the FXO port is not connected, you are able to tell, again by looking at the output of debug vpm signal.
Instead, for incoming calls, router detects AC ring current and goes off-hook without further check.
So if my theory here is that the attached equipment is not providing correctline voltage or loop current, if I'm correct the proof would be identical output of "debug vpm singal", either with the line connected, or disconnected.

  • Faulty line for over a month now but BT says it is...

Has anyone got any suggestions, please?  I reported a faulty line on 22nd April - it had an increasing amount noise on it (which it has had for ages but had become unbearable) including clicking, and my broadband kept dropping.  I had done all the usual checks, disconnecting my home equipment and reconnecting it individually, and so on, and had checked my router which was fine.  My ISP insisted that it was due to a faulty line and said that I should report it to BT.  We have already had a fault repaired on the external line this year and one or two last year.
BT sent out an engineer on 24 April who traced the fault to 143m out from the junction box on our house.  He went to junction box two halfway down our drive and found an absolute mess of old cabling which had been patched and cut into and bundled up and patched again, in the 50 pair cable feeding our telephone service 35 pairs were unuseable and the cable very old and damaged.
He put in a report saying that the manhole in the street needed investigating and also drew up a plan to have the cable from the street supplying our property to be replaced as it is really unviable it is in such a mess, including the JB2 cabling which has various unused and dead cables involved as well as those supplying our house).  He contacted me to let me know that his manager had approved the cable replacement.
On April 30 two engineers attended and found the cable lying in water at the bottom of the manhole with our wires all corroded.  They cut the wire back and recrimped it and then tied the cable up out of the water with a bit of blue nylon rope that was already down the manhole.  They also looked at JB2 and agreed that the cabling needed to be sorted out.  The engineers told me that someone would be out to sort out JB2 and left.  After their recrimping our wires in the manhole our voice service has improved - there is still some hissing but no clicking - but the line is still unable to carry data consistently and our broadband continues to drop.
However on my BT online account later that day the fault was shown as having been fixed.  I confirmed that the line was still faulty, however the case was closed anyway by 5th May even though no further work was done.  I rang customer services (again - another hour or two on the phone!) and they were very apologetic and said they would reopen the case.  However they did not - instead they opened a new case on 6th May, even though it is the same fault as reported on 22nd April.
Later on 6th May my account showed that the line had been fixed and the case closed, which I saw on the 7th and reopened it.  On the 8th it showed that BT was going to investigate the fault and an hour later they shut the case again, saying it had been fixed.  On the 9th I reopened it again.  I rang customer services again, and they said that as the case had been closed I would have to start all over and have an engineer come out to check my equipment and line at my property.  We were going away on holiday for a week so I booked the appointment for the first working day after our return - 20th May.
On the morning of 20th May I checked our online account and it showed that the case had been closed again.  I rang customer services and sure enough the engineer's appointment had been cancelled.  So I made a new appointment for 23rd May.  The engineer has been today and tested the line from the junction box on the outside of our house (which is a good distance from our master socket) and said that while the line could carry voice it was not good enough to carry data properly.  He looked into JB2 and the manhole in the street (which of course he is not allowed to go into to do anything so he can only look) and said that the cable was old and damaged and need to be replaced!
I watched him type up his report and upload it to BT Openreach, stating that the fault was not repaired and that the cable needed to be replaced.  A couple of hours later I looked on my online account and found, with no real surprise, that the fault was showing as having been repaired and if I agreed they would shut the case down!
The engineer and I have worked out an inexpensive way of replacing the cable which requires a minimum amount of excavation along the tarmac'd drive (which we only have a right of way over anyhow), instead of which the cable could be continued along the wall down to the pavement and then taken down and into the nearest manhole which is two feet from the wall.
He has sent the A55 form in to his manager stating that the cable should be replaced in this way, (just as the last engineer did), so how can this fault be showing as fixed?
In the meantime my broadband provider Demon can see that the broadband keeps dropping, but they apparently can't do much about it.  They buy ADSL provision from Cable & Wireless, who rent the line from BT, but Cable & Wireless can raise a fault with BT if the case is closed.  But the BT Openreach engineers are all in agreement and reporting the line as faulty, yet BT is pretending that it has been fixed.  Meanwhile my BT bill has arrived as usual and I am being asked to pay both BT and my internet provider as normal for a faulty service.
A month in and I am really at my wits end as to how to get BT to make the necessary repair.  BT has claimed the fault has been fixed and closed the case several times since I first reported it on 22nd April, and shows no intention of doing what the engineers are all recommending which is to replace the old, faulty cable.  In the meantime I am being hotly pursued by BT to buy BT Infinity Broadband, yet the line isn't fit to carry it, since the copper which runs from the cab in the street is unfit for purpose.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions - we have been suffering with this old faulty line for some years now and it is just getting worse and worse.

Thanks for your reply John, but while the immediate problem is with the broadband the actual voice fault when it was reported was old damaged cable.  All we have been given is a temporary fix, which is what yesterday's engineer put in his report.  He showed it to me before he submitted it so I know that is true.
Both engineers who have attended in the last month have come to the same conclusion - that the cable is in a shocking state and needs to be replaced.  We may not have a voice problem currently but we have had two repairs for voice this year alone and several over the past few years as our line keeps breaking down.  The engineers are working their way through the cable as it corrodes and degrades trying to find clean pairs of copper wire to use.  In the meantime we have ongoing problems with our broadband dropping - all because BT won't just get on and replace the cable.
It may be expensive for BT to replace the cable - although the engineer and I have worked out a cheaper way to do it by continuing the wire along with wall down to the street rather than trying to dig up the whole run of cable under our neighbour's newly laid tarmac on the shared drive - but actually since we have to go through this performance of BT engineers followed by Openreach engineers attending our property every few months it seems a false economy to me!
The broadband is just 'hitching a ride' with the copper line, and two engineers have agreed that the copper line is shot to bits.  Once again the A55 has been cleared by the local team and passed to planning, because Openreach thinks that the cable needs to be replaced.  But the BT computer system keeps shutting it down.  I don't think on this occasion that it is reasonable for BT to refuse to deal with me as end user and just hand the problem on to my ISP - there is nothing they can do until the cable is replaced except reiterate what I have already told you.  If we are forced to go there, that will simply necessitate another bunch of engineers coming out and looking at the problem all over again - extra expense to BT - why not just get on an fix the problem that we all know is there?
We have considered changing to BT Infinity as our area has fibre, but until the copper between us and the fibre has been replaced there is simply no point in giving even more money to BT for a service that will not be able to run at a good speed.  If BT mans up and treats us decently by agreeing to replace the cable we will certainly be looking at Infinity again.

  • CCM 4.1(3) - DialPlan 7-digit dialing Configuration

Hi. Currently I have a CallManager cluster providing services on different cities. Now we are moving a new office to the IPT cluster and the city dials 7-digit local calls dialing within the location and 10-digit local calls and 11-digit LD, etc..
What is the best approach for adding the 7-digit and 10-digit routes.. currently I'm not using the @ anywhere in the CallManager and I don't want to use it. Also adding unique route-patterns for all the 7-digit dialing is not the best approach as there are lots of routes.. Gateway is using MGCP.
    Thanks in advanced,
    -Jose

Instead of using 9.[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX use the area code as your 2nd through 5th digits. For example:
    9.[2-9]XXXXXX - for 7 digit local
    9.212[2-9]XXXXXX - 10 digit local
    9.315[3-9]XXXXXX - 10 digit local
    9.1[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX - Long distance
replacing the 212 and the 315 examples with area codes that are local to your area.

  • More than 8 FXO lines on the UC540

    Hi,
I am looking for possible solutions for adding an additional FXO line to a UC540 as well. Mine already has the additional VIC2-4FXO module and all FXO ports are used. From reading the Manuals, Release Notes, and Forums, it sounds like the 8800 will only support additional FXS ports. I have not found a solid answer as to why that is. It seems like it would be a hardware/platform overload issue for the UC540 to support more than 8 FXO lines. Is this assumption accurate or is there something we can do about it?

I appreciate your prompt response. I know what ISDN BRI and PRI signaling is.  However I am not sure I understand your response.  Could you please elaborate on what you mean by "upgrade to ISDN PR".

  • Iphone Makes me dial my area code for local calls

For no apparent reason, I started having to dial my area code for local calls manually dialed.
After research/ Found the problem:  The culprit in my case was my AT&T Micro Cell tower.  All it took was realizing it only did it at home (the location of the towerr) and a lot of trouble shooting with Apple support.  They were stumped.  The fix was a simple reset of the tower.

It is good practice to always store numbers in contacts with the area code. There is no harm in dialing the area codes even if you live in an area that still uses 7-digit dialing. And, it prevents issues when you travel.

    Dear Subrat,
you cannot create a yearly schedule line in the scheduling agreement. It is not possible due to format restrictions of the date field. But what you can do is the follows (it is the modification, but it should work with the help of user-exits):
    1. You can split the year schedule line to the monthly schedule lines. There are two ways to do it. If you apply the DELINS IDOC, then you can do it already during transfer of the data to the application (itr is the best way). Here you can use, for example, user-exit USEREXIT_ZUORDNEN_IDOCS (include LVED4FZZ) or customer function EXIT_SAPLVED4_002, called from the subroutine USEREXIT_DYNPRO (Include LVED4F0U). Alternatively, you can use the user-exit USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBEP (Include MV45AFZZ) within the call transaction, then it will work also in the dialog case.
    2. After getting the monthly schedule lines, you can create a planning delivery schedule, where you can split mothly schedule lines automatically to daily schedule lines according to the customer factory calender. The settings for generation of planning delivery schedules can be found under:
Customizing SPRO: Sales and Distribution => Sales => Sales Documents => Scheduling Agreements with Delivery schedules => Maintain Planning Delivery Sched. Instruct./Splitting Rules
It is the only ways, how you can reach your aim. I hope, this information will help you further.

  • To generate Schedule lines for scheduling Agreement when MRP is run.

    Hi,
Please help advise on my following requirement:
When I run the MRP for 'Single Item - Multi level' (MD02) for a material, I want MRP to generate delivery schedule lines for that material in Scheduling agreement.
Please advise as to how i can go about with this.

    Hi Manju,
For this you need to set creation indoactor for planning run in SPRO.
The path is spro-MM-CBP-Carry out overall maintenance of plant parameters-Click on maintain-give your plant-click on external procurement under planning run-here you can give your option for the schedule line creation.
Traction code is omi8. Hope this will help you.
