  • 11G: Search form always in Find Mode?

    Hi,
We are trying to re-do a search form that is always in Find mode. Shoud we follow what we do for 10.1.3 or there is new document we should follow?
    Thanks,
    Annie

    Neelmani,
Thank you for pointing out the PDF file. I was wondering if you know oracle has any sample application talks about how to create a "Search Form" using named view criteria. I've read the PDF file chapter 25 and chapter 5.10. They only talk about it in general - meaning no detailed steps on how to do it. This 11G is a brand new product. I am no stranger to Jdev since I've been working with Jdeveloper for a couple of years. But still this version is a complete different version. A detailed step by step instruction would be really helpful at this point.
    Best regards,
    Annie

after installing ios7, my phone now is always in headphone mode, how to restore back to ringer mode

I did a search on "recovery mode loop"..you might take a look at the following threads to get some ideas...some mention is made of "USB conflicts"..not sure how valid that is.....they also mention doing a hard power down of the device...sounds like if you absolutely can't get it out of recovery mode, a trip to the Genius bar will be necessary...

    HI,
Are you saying that in Messages Menu > Preferences > Account the iMessages "Account" cannot be Enabled ?
Off Line or not being able to Set Available would normally refer to a Buddy list (or two)
The Default in iChat and Messages is to link all the "iChat Style" Accounts into one collected Buddy List.
This can then suffer one "list" within that being effected by the settings of another.
I would go to the Message menu > Preferences > General Section
In here, untick the box that reads like this (red arrow)
    Uploaded with Skitch!
This will separate out Any AIM logins and Jabber Logins you have in to individual Buddy lists
Then check each Status Setting and make sure none is Set to Make All Accounts the same when one is set to Off Line or Invisible.

  • Cannot pair BH202 with Sony K510i in handsfree mod...

Hi, I am trying to pair my recently bought Nokia BH202 headset with my Sony Ericsson K510i. The pairing works fine and so does the headset but I can use only the headset profile and not the handsfree profile. I can therefore receive and make calls etc., but cannot use the voice dialing and other voice control features via the BH202 headset. I do know that both BH202 and K510i support the bluetooth handsfree profile.
Are the handsfree modes of BH202 and K510i incompatible in some way (version mismatch perhaps)? Or do I need to do something special while pairing or later?
    Any help will be appreciated.

Well, interoperability is the whole point of defining standards.
What good would BT be if devices from different vendors did not
    interoperate?
In this specific instance, I do know that both devices (BH202 and K510i) support the hands-free profile, so the combination should work in theory. Can someone educate me on what might be going wrong in practice and whether it is at all possible to work around or fix the problem?
    Thanks.

  • Itouch is always in shuffle mode

My itouch is always in shuffle mode. What can I do...

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Windows always "enables disk mode"

I have a 40gb 4th generation iPod connected to a Dell XPS M1210 laptop via USB. the laptop is running XP pro SP2 with all current updates. iTunes is version 7.1.1.5 and iPod is version 3.1.1.
When docking the iPod, XP always mounts the iPod assigning it a drive letter, even though in iTunes, I do not have the "enable disk use" option checked.
I can check the "enable disk use", hit "apply" then uncheck "enable disk use" and apply it again and the disk use is not enabled. However, the next time I dock the iPod, it reverts back to the default mode of having the disk use enabled, even though that option is not checked in iTunes.
I'd like Windows to not start the iPod up with disk use enabled as the default as that option is not checked in iTunes. I'm assuming I need to adjust a registry setting some place. Can anybody help?

If you have an iPod in manual mode, enable disk use is selected as well, by default. The only way to remove that would be to put the iPod into automatic mode (uncheck "manually manage music" first).
If you have an iPod in automatic mode, and you sync it to iTunes, when iTunes says that the update is complete and it is OK to disconnect, and the iPod is no longer flashing the Do Not Disconnect screen, the iPod is essentially ejected from your system which is why you would no longer see it in Windows with a drive letter on it. It will continue to show in your Device Manager simply because it is physically connected to your computer.
Windows sometimes pre-determines what some drive letters are going to be assigned to. If you're getting different behaviors on different computers, this could be a sign that one PC has the drive letter already assigned to something else (even if the same letter is used on both computers). You could try changing the drive letters on various computers (enable disk use FIRST, through iTunes).
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93499
This may unify the behavior on both computers, but again, there's no way to connect an iPod to a Windows computer without it getting a drive letter at some point.

  • Why updates on some tables with always on synchronize mode take * 100 than when asynchronize mode

I have Always-On synchronization on some databases, We want to change from asynchronize mode to synchronize mode, I tested to see what the  change in performance between the two, and found that in general the select statements keep the same
duration with and without synchronize mode, most of the update\insert usually take around * 4 times from the asynchronize mode, BUT some updates take much longer. I would like to understand why things take MUCH longer (I understand that working with synchronize
mode is a 2 phase commit and should take * 4 times, but I can't understand why some of them take 50 - 100 times more).
    1. One query is an update made on a table with few records (up to 40 records), this update run 250K times a day, and a very simple update on this table takes * 98 than without synchronize mode
    1. An update on a big table with 2 million records, using a query that specify the unique column in the primary cluster key, takes 50 times more.
What are  the factors that have dramatic influence on performance when 2 phase commit (asynchronize mode) is used?

I've never even looked at the details for SQL Server, but on any kind of a system doing synchronous updates, you have to figure there is a fixed cost, a variable cost, and a queuing cost.  The fixed cost always hits whether its a big transaction or
a small transaction, let's guess it's about 0.1 seconds for a round trip.  Variable cost depends on how much is updated, let's say it's linear, and is maybe 0.05 seconds for a couple of small rows.  The queuing cost varies from 0 to huge.
So if you have a small transaction on a local system that takes 0.05 seconds (50 milliseconds), then just one will incur the local 0.05, plus 0.10, plus 0.05, and zero queuing cost, so 0.05 -> 0.20, about 4x.
But if you have something that runs 250k times a day I hope it's faster, maybe it's only 0.01 seconds locally, and that turns to 0.01 + 0.10 + 0.01 + q, so 0.01 -> 0.12+q, so it's at *least* 12x slower, and maybe if you get 100 of them
in the same second you start incurring queuing delays also, in fact you may have similar queuing delays on the local system and remote system besides any communications queuing, but if just the synchronization system has some queuing limits and it even gets
to 0.30 seconds then 0.01 -> 0.42, or 42x, and you start seeing what can happen.  If your local transaction is only 0.001 seconds when not synchronized, then you'd have 100x slowdown just on the fixed overhead!
IOW, synchronized systems and tons of small, fast transactions just don't fit together very well.

  • Always On - async mode - Failover and failback check list

    Hi All,
Our production is configured with Always On in Async mode with DR.
We are planning to do a failover and failback on the Availability Groups in weekend.
Apart from the time consuming to do a failover and failback, does anyone having complete checklist on what all has to be checked at the time of failover and failback?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi MvKalyan,
In AlwaysOn Avaliability Groups, when availability replicas are configured for asynchronous-commit mode, it supports only the manual failover mode.  For more details, please review this article:
Failover and Failover Modes (AlwaysOn Availability Groups).
Before performing a failover of SQL Server AlwaysOn Avaliability Group,  there are several things should be considering, such as data loss, connectivity problems and so on. For more information, you can review this online blog:
Before You Fail Over a SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Group.

  • Always in TRANSFORM mode? CS4

I'm not sure if I accidentally hit a key command or what but for some reason no matter what layer I'm on, I always seem to be in TRANSFORM mode and it's driving me crazy.  It does not appear to View <Layer Edges> that is turned on but something between that and a true TRANSFORM selection.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?  How can I MAKE IT STOP?
Here is what it looks like.  I haven't asked to TRANSFORM and View <Layer Edges> is not active...

    Uncheck Show transform controls.

  • Mega180 Always in Standby Mode

Did anyone ever leave thier system always in standby w/o switch off the main power and how ong you have been doing so? It is troublesome to stwich off the power totaly b'cos the radio memory will gone after the power is cutoff and you got to redo the memory setting again? Any ideas how to solve this little drawback that mega pc has!

go into Power Management in your BIOS setup and set ACPI mode to S3-STR (Suspend-to-Ram)
then in Windows, go into power options and change the function of the power-off button to Standby
hey presto, press the front power button and your computer goes into standby. press power button again - INSTANT-ON!
and yes, there should be no need to unplug Mega from the mains, unless you wish to move it  , all modern PSUs are designed for this. heck, all modern appliances are designed to be "plugged in" at all times (do you ever unplug your VCR when you're not using it?)
