7941G SIP firmware without CCM

How can i update my 7941G phone firmware to SIP without a Callmanager?
I was successfully done this with a 7912 but not this model.

You only need a tftp server and a dhcp server that gives the address of the former via option 150 to the phone. Copy all the files in there and then factory-reset the phone pressing # while turning on, wait for leds, press 123456789*0#.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

  • Sip firmware on 7960

    Good morning,
I have no idea if it's right to post here my thread, anyway I try to post my question.
I've updated a Cisco 7960 with sip firmware and deployed to it new custom services.
When I try to use these new services I receive an xml parse error from the phone. I've noticed that the problem is due to softkeys added in the code of new services and removing softkeys services run well.
    I'm following this document:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/all_models/xsi/5_1/english/programming/guide/ip5_1ch2.html#wpxref1047782
Maybe sip firmware doesn't support this kind of xml object?
    Thank you in advance
    Gionata Navarra

What is CUCM version? What is the firmware version?
What kind of service is configured exactly?
    Thanks,
    Tijana

  • Lync Federation - Accept SIP Reverse Negotiation (SIP Invite without SDP)

    Hello,
Recently I tested a SIP Federation trunk between Lync Server 2013 and non-Lync Client.
In this scenario the Lync Client 2013 support SIP Reverse Negotiation, by other words if SIP Invite without SDP it's sent to Lync Client 2013 it will be accepted by any configuration option?
With the default settings seams that it's not supported with error reason "Error parsing body"

    Regards,
    Claudio

    Hello All,
After some analysis I got the following conclusions.
Lync PC Client doesn't accept initial Invite without SDP ( Delayed Offer ).
However our goal was to test the SIP Reverse Media Negotiation mechanism, so we sent initially a dummy SDP for the initial invite and after the connect send a SIP INVITE without SDP and for my surprise the Lync Client accepted and sent his own SDP on the
200 OK and we sent the new SDP offer in the ACK.
However the result was no Audio, and Lync Client kept sending the Audio to the initial INVITE SDP and ignored the new SDP offered in the ACK message.
So my conclusion it's that LYNC Client doesn't support SIP Reverse Media Negotiation (Delayed Offer) at all since it ignores the new SDP offered in the ACK message for the mid call media renegotiation attempt with SIP INVITE without SDP.

  • PMF to allow outgoing calls through SIP Trunk Without Registering

    Hello,
I have an intermitant issue with one of our UC320W's running 2.3.2(6) firmware.  The customers VOIP SIP trunk becomes unregistered for periods of time, stopping incoming and outgoing calls.  Once unregistered it takes quite a while to rergister.  Our service provider has informed us that the re-register period is the cause and we should try and shorten it, so first question is there a way to do this, also what is the re-register retry window in the first place?
I have an analogue line that can receive calls only so I have made this the fallover number with the VOIP provider, that gives a little releife for incoming calls, but not outgoing.  I beleive in other phone systems a SIP trunk does not need to be registered to make an outgoing call, and it is usually an option to say only make outgoing calls if the SIP trunk is registered.  I cannot find that option anywhere to deselect it, is there a PMF I could apply to allow outgoing calls without registering?
    Thank you,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
Please install the SIP_Trunk_Register_Timer.pmf at status->Devices->Alter PMFs in configure utility. Please remember to apply the configuration afterwards. This PMF can let user to select the re-register period. You can find the PMF at https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-16301

  • Problem with sip trunk between CCM and Huawei through Cisco ASA5520

    Hello,
    I have a next problem
During SIP conversation ASA is changing  the ip address of CCM to corresponding name in ASA configuration inside the SIP packet:
    To:  <sip:443230282@Server_CCM1;user=phone>
    ASA name configuration:
    name x.y.z.h Server_CCM1
But it should be without any changes like that: To:  <sip:[email protected];user=phone>. Because of that session cant be established. Remote SIP peer gives an error "Bad Request - 'Malformed/Missing URL"
When name was deleted  in ASA "no name x.y.z.h Server_CCM1" we have no any problem with  SIP initialization and call proccesing.
We are going to upgrade ASA from 8.2 to 8.3 and it seems that we will have the same problem because object will be created automaticly  in new version (we are using a NAT) and we will not be able to delete an object like we did in version 8.2.
What configuration in ASA version 8.3 should be done to avoid this issue.
P.S Detailed debug from Huawei in attachment.
    Thank you.

    Hi.
depending on your config, you might be hitting CSCta16361, this is fixed in 8.2(4)
if you can confirm it's still happening in latest 8.2 release, then a TAC case needs to be opened so investigation is done and a new bug is opened.
if you've tested 8.2(4) already and it's still doing the same, then a TAC Service Request should be opened for more investigation and possibly opening a new defect.
    Best regards,
    Fadi.

  • How do I install iPhone Firmware without Errors???

    ok folks, here it is:
    Macbook Pro 8GB Ram
    Mac OSX Lion 10.7.2
    iTunes 10.5.2 64bit
    and a dead iPhone 4 CDMA :-(
iPhone stopped starting up Oct 9th, 2011 and was fully updated at the time. I tried countless suggestions then, have resumed troubleshooting this week.
it's fully charged and will not turn on. it displays the prompt to connect iPhone to iTunes via USB.
These are the variety of steps I've tried (many of these worked for others. Try them if you are experiencing problems) :
Failed for me: in iTunes, I clicked restore. Apple downloaded latest ipsw firmware, extracted software, stopped at error #3002  :-(
Failed for me: Since apple downloaded v5.0.1 and failed, I downloaded "iPhone3,3_4.2.9_8E501_Restore.ipsw" & "iPhone3,3_4.2.10_8E600_Restore.ipsw" & "iPhone3,3_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw" via third party sites. in iTunes, I held down "option", clicked restore, and selected one of the newly downloaded ipsw files. iTunes successfully extracted the ipsw software but gave me several errors including #3002, #3001, #3194, #1611, #1602  :-(
Failed for me: forced iPhone into DFU mode (Device Firmware Update)
Connect the iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes
Turn the iPhone off (hold down the power button at the top of the iPhone)
Hold down the sleep/power button and home button together for exactly 10 seconds, then release the power button
Continue to hold down the Home button until a message appears in iTunes telling you an iPhone in recover mode has been detected
When you are in DFU mode your iPhone screen will be completely black
then tried to restore with both apple and third party ipsw.
    got more errors. :-(
    Failed for me:
    Closed iTunes
Opened Finder. Clicked "Go" - "Go to Folder..."
Typed /etc/ looked for "host" file and opened
deleted the last line containing gs.apple.com
Saved host file to desktop, unchecking "include .txt"
deleted original host file. took edited host file saved on desktop and dragged to where original host files was
authenticated it with mac administrater name and password
closed finder. opened iTunes. Forced iPhone into DFU. clicked restore.
    #Error 1602 :-(
Failed for me: same everything as above but instead of deleting last line, replaced it with this one:
"#74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com" (this is the Cydia server address)
    Same error #1602  :-(
Failed for me: When iTunes is trying to restore, part of the process is the rebooting of the iPhone, but it cannot boot up, so it gets stuck in this endless cycle of trying to reboot. the apple logo will appear for 30sec then disappear, then reappear, then disappear, etc.
Failed for me: I used redsn0w to "Recovery Fix" and all other options redsn0w offers. Nothing :-(
Failed for me: I tried installing Cydia via redSn0w, entered DFU, selected different ipsw's to use, and it always gets stuck on waiting to reboot. the apple logo keeps cycling without stop until I unplug or use redsn0w to recovery fix.
Failed for me: I also used TinyUmbrella to recover from the same cycle. Nothing :-(  I don't have a saved SHSH, so I cannot start a TSS server
Failed for me: I've tried rebooting my mac. I've tried editing my "host" file various ways. I've tried restoring original host file. I've tried using different USB cables. I've tried all different USB ports. I simply cannot get my iPhone to boot up past the apple logo. Apple won't even look at it without $200 thrown at them.
As you can see I've experienced a lot of FAILURES :-(
I've successfully restored my iPod touch in the past, my Dad's iPad, and my brother's iPhone with no problems.
Because of wonderful experiences in the past, I declined AppleCare. Why is this iDevice being so problematic?
I NEED suggestions other than what I've tried thus far. PLEASE HELP!!!

thanks for the suggestion. This was just a simple tutorial on doing a regular restore through Apple. I've tried that already and it doesn't work. I'm sure that Apple downloaded the iOS 5.0.1 (9A406) through my iTues. When iTunes tries to install the firmware on my iPhone, however, that's when the errors start popping up. When I try restoring in DFU mode, my iPhone gets stuck in rebooting over and over again.
It seems like I'm getting some kind of error even before it starts putting any firmware on my iPhone. I've never got to the part where there is a progress bar underneath the apple logo. Any other suggestions?

  • HT1237 How can I install the firmware without an installed operating system?

I'm trying to update the firmware on a mid2010 macbook pro whose hard drive failed.  In order to use Internet Recovery I need to update the firmware.  I don't have an OS to boot to YET so I'm no sure how to use the DMG file via a direct boot.

    paulpoteat wrote:
I started down this path because as per http://www.apple.com/macosx/recovery/ it says "if your Mac problem is a little less common — your hard drive has failed or you’ve installed a hard drive without OS X, for example — Internet Recovery takes over automatically".  After doing some research I see that in order to get Internet Recovery to work you need an upgraded firmware, hence my opening question.  Also at that link it says "Not all Macs running OS X Lion are enabled for Internet Recovery. But Apple still has you covered with the Recovery Disk Assistant." so I tried going down the Recovery Disk path.  To be honest, w/o the original restore media, I wasn't expecting any of this to work, but the language on the macos/recovery site makes it seem like it is possible.
It is very possible but you need to create the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant, Recovery HD USB drive, on the computer it is going to be used on from the Recovery HD partition that is on that computer when Lion and the R-HD is on that system.
In all honesty Apple should have a method and instruction on how to create a REAL Lion Install Thumb drive or DVD if you like. In stead of this STUPID Download system.

  • Updating Media Hub firmware *without* an Internet connection? (+ A few other questions)

    Hi everyone! :-)
I recently purchased an NMH305 in the DSG retail stock clearance, which I am planning on using as a "Black hole" for my audio, video and software collections. Before I begin setting it up though, I need to check on a few things and ask a few questions. :-)
First things first, here's a brief overview of my network and some other stuff:
My network has no connection to the Internet whatsoever. I was previously online with a major UK ISP, but because of numerous connection issues and the fact that a direct connection has negative impacts on my lifestyle, I decided to get rid of it and do without.
Consequently, all of my access to the Internet (E.G: Posting here) is done through local libraries and friends connections.
Most of my systems run Windows XP, but I also have a few Ubuntu, Fedora, and OEM firmware based clients knocking around as well. Windows VII and/or a mass switch-over to Linux may occur in the future.
All network clients are wired up with 100mbps fast ethernet (No wi-fi)
My Media Hub currently has it's 500GB WD Green Caviar installed, but my plan is to replace this with two 500GB 7200rpm Hitachi drives stripped out of USB external caddies for quicker access times, greater peace of mind (I don't really trust Western Digital products) and use the more efficient Caviar as an external HDD insted.
Because I like to keep my systems as "light" as possible; I'd like to skip using the bundled set-up CD (Which'll install a lot of stuff that I don't need) and insted set-up the Media Hub manually using a web browser or terminal connection.
I consider myself to be an experienced and advanced user, and therefore I'm comfortable with the idea of configuring and operating my Media Hub via an SSH or Telnet session.
Downloading, backing-up and restoring Firmware by hand:
Anyhow...The first question I'd like to ask is How can I backup and update the firmware on my media hub using only my local network? I know full well that I can download the firmware images using just a web browser, but I cannot seem to find a direct URL anywhere on the Linksys site. The closest lead I've got so far is http://downloads.linksysbycisco.com/downloads/firmware/NMH_FW_3_18_15_B_ReleaseNotes.txt...But no logical variations of this URL that I've tried (Drop the _ReleaseNotes.txt, try .bin .img .tar .tgz and .tar.gz extensions) have resulted in success. :-(
If anyone has the direct URLs for the firmware images, I'd be most greatful. Failing that, if anyone can tell me the URL that the Media Hub uses to perform a version check (A few packets dumped via WireShark during a check will do) I can follow the HTTP chain from there by hand. :-)
Naturally, I'm assuming that there is a means by which to dump and upload firmware to/from the Media Hub (Via an SSH session, most likely) but if not, would serving the firmware update from one of my own systems (Using a record on my local DNS) work, or does the Media Hub use a secure connection for this?
Operating the Media Hub via SSH/Telnet:
As the Media Hub runs a customised version of Linux, I presume that administration via Telnet and SSH are available. I assume that the default login would be root / admin (I'm assuming the web interface also uses the root account for it's administrative logon) but is that correct...Or would I need different credentials to those for a Telnet/SSH login?
Installing new HDDs: Anything need keeping off the old one?
Finally; As I mentioned above, I'm planning to swap the OEM drive supplied with two others before use. I'm currently leafing through the users manual and am about to come across the procedure given for drive replacement, but given the size of the Media Hub's UI - Which looks to me to be pretty heavily featured - I doubt the whole lot would fit on the Hub's firmware flash...So presumably I'd need to back-up interface data and files from the OEM disk to the new disks first.
Dumping data from one disk to another isn't a problem (dd has become one of my favourite utilities over the past year) but - Thinking from the viewpoint of efficiency - Is it possible to restore the UI data and interface alone (No media lists or cache info - That's better regenerated after) without having to dump the first x sectors from one disk to another?
Also; Given the unit comes with a 5400rpm WD Green Caviar, will the Media Hub's PSU handle two standard 3.5" HDDs (Which could draw about 15-20w each) without problems? :-)
Farewell for now, apologies for the length of this post, and many thanks in advance for any help! >:-)

  • Is it possible to flash MBP efi firmware without OSX?

hi, i came from this post: macbookpro A1226 (2007) stuck on apple logo or autoreboot no matter from what i boot
in that posted i mentioned i found a way to do this, but i was mistaken, because the guide i found points about upgrading "ssds" without mac osx, but not the mac firmware, so if someone know about this, if this would be posible from the same mac or a windows machine to create the bootable media to upgrade the machine firmware it would be wonderful.

    CaptainMorgan08 wrote:
You can't run a jar file without a JRE. You can create an exe file from the jar, but that defeats the whole platform-independence thing.not just that, but "native compilers" just wrap a JRE with the needed subset of the class libraries around the application jar(s), add some bootstrapping code, and call it a native executable.
    So you'd still have a JVM :)

  • Add third party SIP Phone to CCM 5

'm not able to register this SIP Phone to the CCM5.0. I have device license that cater all IP Phone models.(LIC-CM-DL-100=)
I got error message " Login Forbidden" "timeout" in the IP Phone.
In the CCM, I got this message in Phone COnfig Window
    Registration: Rejected.
Can you explain on how to register this 3rd party IP phone to CCM?
Is it CCM able to support SIP Phone?

    Hi,
This is most likely because of the following...
Because third-party SIP phones do not send a MAC address, they must identify themselves by using digest authentication.
The REGISTER message includes the following header:
    Authorization: Digest username="swhite",realm="ccmsipline",nonce="GBauADss2qoWr6k9y3hGGVDAqnLfoLk5",uri="sip:172.18.197.224",algorithm=MD5,response="126c0643a4923359ab59d4f53494552e"
The username, swhite, must match an end user that is configured in the End User Configuration window of Cisco Unified CallManager Administration. The administrator configures the SIP third-party phone with the user; for example, swhite, in the Digest User field of Phone Configuration window.
    See the following document.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/5_1_3/ccmcfg/b09sip3p.html
Hope this helps, if so please rate.

  • Restoring original firmware *without* iPod updater?

Recently (since upgrading to iTunes 6?), my 2nd gen iPod no longer mounts (on OS X or winXP). I'd like to roll back the firmware to try an earlier version, but this isn't possible with the iPod Updater software, since my iPod doesn't appear on my computer.
Can you restore the original firmware from the iPod ROM without using the updater? (ie. using some sort of button combination or hardware switch)
Also: my iPod charges over firewire when connected to the computer, but doesn't mount, so I'm guessing it isn't a firewire problem.

Absolutely, I have run into the same exact problem with my 20g iPod (second generation). It no longer mounts to the desktop or to iTunes. I've removed iTunes and attempted to reinstall the iPod Updater, but limits the updater to my hd, since the iPod fails to mount properly.
Also, if you check your system profiler, you'll see (most likely) that it is still reading the presence of the device. It's there, but it isn't. The device works fine when on its own, but simply does not mount.
They need to give us a solution ASAP that doesn't destroy all the information on our devices. We are sinking together.

  • Is there any SIP solution for CCM 4.1?

    Hi,
I am looking for alternative solution other than to have CCM 5 to support SIP. Is any third party product or solution to make CCM 4.1 support SIP.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi belkin,
You could use asterisk server with an intercluster-trunk to the ccm 4.1. It works fine in the lab :-)
You can register sip (and also some sccp) phones on the asterisk and make calls to phones on the ccm 4.1 or to gateways registered to the ccm via the sip trunk.
Be sure that you will only have a subset of the ccm features.
When you google for trixbox (which is an out of the box asterisk with gui and wich is also as an vmware image available) you can find a way how to connect the asterisk to the ccm.

  • How to downgrade firmware without Airport Utility?

Since updating my Express firmware to 7.5.x I have not been able to connect to the internet.
After factory resets I am not even able to connect to the Express through Airport Utility even though it see's the router.
After six hours of trying and reading various post on the latest firmware it appears that it must be this latest firmware that is the problem.
I want to go back to 7.4 or 7.3 firmware on my Express but how can I do this without using Airport Utility?

I want to go back to 7.4 or 7.3 firmware on my Express but how can I do this without using Airport Utility?
You can't. Try a factory default reset on the AX again as follows:
Power it off for 30 minutes
Hold in the reset button and while you continue to hold it in, plug the AX back in to power
Keep holding the reset button until you see the amber light begin to blink more quickly and hold another 3-4 seconds when you see this and then release
Allow 40-45 seconds for the AX to restart until the amber light is blinking slowly. Then, temporarily connect an ethernet cable to the AX from your computer. Restart your computer and Open AirPort Utility - Manual Setup
Click directly on the word "Version" (3rd line) and you will be able to choose the firmware version you want.
There's no guarantee this will work, of course, if there is some other internal issue on the AX.
