88 color term + screen

Does anyone know how to get screen to play nicely with an 88-color term (urxvt in this case)? I run vim in a terminal all the time and I use the inkpot scheme which requires 88 colors. If I run vim in screen the pretty colors don't show through. I've seen stuff on setting screen to pass through 256 colors but not 88.

I got 256 colors stuff working perfectly. The problem I have left is that 88 colors stuff comes out wrong. It looks like all the colors are shifted to blue. I guess the can be fixed by a termcapinfo line in my screenrc but I'm clueless as to what that line needs to be.
EDIT: NVM, I got it working - I just had to set TERM to xterm-256color before running screen.
For those interested you need to recompile screen for 256 colors (with abs set up, just add --enable-colors256 to the ./configure line in the PKGBUILD)
Then you need to do something or another to change TERM for screen. I add the following to my .zshrc but it should be similar for bash.
alias screen='TERM=xterm-256color screen -T $TERM'

[Solved] 256 color term causes color glitch

I'm having a strange (to me anyways) issue with 256 color terminals. The issue appears under xterm-256color and rvxt(-unicode)-256color, but not under any of the 8-color terminals I've tried.
A bit of background, if it's relevant: this is my second machine running Arch. It's an Asus netbook which I intend to use for schoolwork-related stuff (therefore, no need for X or a DE -- just console tools). I'm trying to get a 256 color term working because I use emacs, and mc a lot, and they both have nice 256 color themes I'd like to use.
However, when I use a 256 color term, the following happens:
The universal issue is that the colors are wrong -- lots of them are the same blue and grey color repeated again and again. This is I think what is causing emacs/mc and others to do all of their colored highlighting in an unreadable mess of these same colors everywhere. The issue particular to rxvt-unicode-256color (and not rxvt-256color) is the other effect shown in the picture -- the text becomes 'distorted' into incorrect characters. The text typed in on the left, for example, are two ordinary sentences.
Maybe what I'm looking at in the unicode term is two unrelated issues... I'm not sure. In any case, if someone could point me in the direction of a solution or offer some insight, I'd appreciate it.

You've caught me redhanded, but more importantly you've finally given me a new name to look into. After several rounds of tic-terminfo-toe, I'm satisfied that as trilby says there simply is no way to get the full 256 color range out of the tty without some x in the middle. This leads to more questions (where's the equivalent of inittab for systemd, where does term get set to xterm anyway (when not in the user's rc's at least, why did it work better through pts, can I achieve 256 in pts without forwarding x, where do I find an 8-color vim syntax scheme that won't burn my eyeballs, etc), but the topic question is resolved. Thanks!

IPhone showing crazy colors on screen when recording video?

I seem to be having a problem with my iPhone when I go to record video. I get this crazy colored looking screen (it shows up in the video and you can see it on screen when recording). Any ideas as to how to fix this?

How to provide background color to screen elements in screen designing?

    I am preparing a screen in module pool programming.
    I created 1 screen in that.
    How can i provide colors or background colors to my screen elements on that screen.
    Is this facility is there?

I don't think it is posible... change the colour of screen element but you can only change the background color of screen but you can not put any elemnet on that screen using picture control check for program RSDEMO_PICTURE_CONTROL will help you.

Pick up color from screen in Adobe Draw

That's my question, is there a pick color tool? I know that there is a color history but a lot of times I make subtle changes in color and I want to paint over some part of the drawing with the same color to correct something and I can't find the exact color in the history.
is there a puck color from screen tool?

Do you mean the background-color of the actual site, or are you talking about the color of the DW interface?
In DWCC, you can go to Modify > Page Properties to change things like the background-color, text color and more for the actual web page.
You can also change it in the CSS Designer panel by creating a body selector in the css, then make the change in the CSS Designer's properties sub window.

We can't. SAP only provides this standard black text. You can however set text fields as bright (in fields properties) which will eventually be displayed in blue color. That's all you can do about this.
There is also one other option of using [Dynamic Documents|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/10/246858055711d4a7410000e83dd863/frameset.htm] which allows to display text in diffent styles (colors and fonts), but this are rather used in forms or as top-of-page in ALVs, not to work with screens themselves.

How can i chang color of screen background

have HP Pavilion desk model. windows 7.
Cannot find where i can change color of background of screen.
was white and seems to have changed to light green. I did not do anythng for this to happen?

The color of screen seems too bright

I've just upgrage my system. The fonts of tty became very small and very bright after that. I just startx as usual but find the color of screen is so bright that I cannot see the fonts clearly and and kwin effect disappear.
I've reinstall my video card driver and remove xorg.conf but it didn't help. any ideas? thx~

The font in the TTY is probably small, because of the higher resolution that is possible with KMS. You can change the font size and the colors for the text in the TTYs, though. I can send you more info on that in some hours if you want.

I do not have a DVi cable so I cannot try DVI connection.

Colors printed do not match color on screen

When printing photos from adobe elements I cant ge the same colors as on the screen -come out much lighter. have tried mackinc the colors on screen darker in hopes of geting the color i want -doesnt work completely

Although I didn't ask this original question, earlier today this happened to my eMac. I must say that I immediately went in to panic mode. After I settled down and tried unsuccessfully to correct the problem, I decided to try this discussion board. MaX Rule's solution fixed it lke that. So thank you. No color on screen, cannot get to menu

I just received an ipod 4gb nano. the first day it worked fine, last night itunes would not recognize my ipod. I went through all of the Rs, reinstalled itunes, etc. Nothing! Now, after using the 3-23 update, my screen has no color and says "ok to disconnect" even though it has been disconnected. I try all of the solutions on this page, but it appears that my problems are just getting worse. Please advise!

Is it possible to create a PDF with different colors for screen and printing?

I'm working on a document that features light colored text on a dark background. I'll be sending this document as a PDF to someone who will likely want to print it. Is it possible to set up the document such that it will display this way when viewed on screen, but will print as black text on a white background, without requiring any special action on the part of the recipient?
Printing a color separation of just the text color produces exactly the results I'm after, but I can't ask the recipient to do that. I need it to happen automatically any time it's printed.
I've tried setting up a duplicate text layer in black and placing it under the background layer, then setting the background layer and colored text to 'never print'. This works within Acrobat Pro, but not when I print the same document from Preview.
Is there an acrobat equivalent of a CSS print stylesheet?

Create the document in layers with the background on a seperate layer than the text. Export the PDF with"Create Acrobat Layers" selected (it will need to be at least version 1.5).
Open the PDF in Acrobat, choose the background layer then Options>Properties>Initial State and under "print" choose "Never prints".
