8800 Sirocco+Bluetooth

I have the sirocco phone and when I try to talk through BH-801 my bluetooth connection goes on and off al the time. It says that is disconneting and connecting. The connection is established succesfully and I have also tried another bluetooth device. The problem stays the same.

This is a compatability issue, a Nokia Service Center might be able to update the software of your 8800 so that it can work with that headset.
More answers, more often - yes, he's back ... in black :-)

Can't use SMS app with 8800 Sirocco / Bluetooth

Hi all,
I can use the Communication Centre to browse phone images / video, contacts etc, but when I use the SMS application, it does not work?
It will not read messages from my phone, or even send. It simply says "Failed to send the message".
Does anyone know what the issue may be??

I have tested this issue with Nokia PC Suite 7.1.18.0, same issue still occuring in Windows XP 32 bit ... I think i have to check if this phone has got its own PC Suite

Nokia 8800 Sirocco - good or bad buy?

I'm thinking of entering into my first contract tomorrow and wanted an Nokia 8800 Sirocco
My friend works for a phone shop and can get me one on Orange.
Would anyone avoid it? I heard the battery life was terrible on the 8800, is it the same issue with the sirocco? Also, I have a N70 at the moment but don't use email, from reading the forum it appears people are having a lot of trouble with email? Is it something that goes wrong even if you don't use email?
Any advice would be very welcome

Ive read and heard from friends that the battery has been improved from the 8800 series although it is supplied with two batteries also.
I have the original 8800 and im very satisfied with it.
I dont use the camera and music,video and bluetooth functions which all add up to drain the battery.
I get 2-3 days from each battery.
The scricco has a better camera {which i dont use} and has the powersaver option cured. ie : it scrolls down the screen unlike the 8800 which does not which in time caused the lcd screen burn. It has also a better keypad, although im not sure about the thumb indentation on the slider..lol
My advice is go for it and you have been offered a decent contract too !!
I would try for a 12 month contract tho.
Some users have experienced difficulty when attempting to use the e mail function as it disappeared from the menu system when accessed. If you use e mail from your service provider then ask to try a demo fone to see what happens.
I dont use it myself as my provider gets enough money from me as it is..lol

Problem with 8800 Sirocco

Hey i have just bought a 8800 sirocco edition phone. I want to transfer music onto the phone from my PC via bluetooth as i have no wires or anything to connect any other way. I try to connect via bluetooth but it says cannot be connected check that you have the correct software drivers etc. I dont know what programs i need to do it or anything so if anyone can help me i would be grateful. thanks

Go to Control Panel and open Microsoft's "Bluetooth Devices" BT UI. Does it work OK???
If not then your BT HW is using some other vendor BT driver (and Nokia is not support that one). How is made that BT driver and what version it is?
If you want to try to use MS BT driver:
1. Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware and Device Manager.
2. Open Bluetooth Devices (or Radios), select that device, click Action, Uninstall and OK.
3. Click Action and Scan for hardware changes.
(windows should automatic update install MSBT drivers)
4. After that there should be "Microsoft Bluotooth Enumerator" installed also.

There is no code that can do that.
You may want to try cleaning out your ear piece if you've had the phone a while or try a bluetooth headset.
If you think the volume is unusually low then you need to get it looked at by a nokia care point.

Not working Nokia 8800 sirocco

Dear Nokia owner's,
I hope that somebody out here can help me with my problem.
I own one sirocco in black and one in silver. Both are original, bought and made in germany. No doubt that they are original.
The black one, is turning one and than for some reason turning off after 2 min. A good repair shop or a official nokia could fix this problem for sure I guess.
My silver one is a little bit more problematic, I had it in my pocket durring one of thoose hurricane rain here in Miami, Florida and after that the display was just lighting on and off without showing something. It means that the phone is still working but the display or the connection to it might be the problem.
I need to know, where in the U.S or in the Miami area I can give or send it to somebody fix it!!!

right i saw a lot of people that need help with this issue
well first of all there is the nokia 8800 sirocco Gold and the 8800 sirocco Gold Look, don,t be mistaken the second is not a fake it is acctualy a normal silver sirocco with a gold brush.
the firt one is 18k Gold not all gold but a small layer of gold over it.
how to spot a fake!
any IDIOT that still believes that a 8xxx serie still says made in finland, dont even reply on this post cause you got a fake sirocco.
if you have a real 8800 sirocco or 8600 luna they both will say made in GERMANY.
second, the Gold look sirocco is about 385 to 450 euros.
a realy gold edition is around 650 to 800 euro's
third, a real sirocco Gold will have a Gold certificate if it does not have that its either the Gold look or a complete Fake.
fourth, if there are no letter on the back of the phone dont, buy it,it has to say nokia 8800 Sirocco Gold right in the middle of the back, if not dont buy it.
LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT
on this nokia site you will see my nokia, click on it make a my nokia account.
in this account you can put in imei numbers in of your nokia phone, if you got the brains this is your key for checking any imei of any nokia phone.
you will get feedback about what phone you have. this is the only true way to verify if you got the real thing!

8800 Sirocco charger

I am the only 8800 Sirocco owner who's irritated by Nokia changing the charger for this phone.
One of the huge advantages of buying Nokia phones was the interoperability of the chargers.
I have bought a number of Nokia handsets from the 3310i via the 5400i to the original 8800. I have accumulated chargers in my study, the utility room, my Mum's kitchen, etc.
Having had the 8800 Sirocco for just 24 hours, I've discovered that the 'universal' Nokia charger is too large to fit the Sirocco.
Aaaaaaaarrrrgghhhhhh!!!!!

In the 'old days' the Nokia charger fitted all.
Times change.
The worst ones was the old motorola and samsung chargers as the chip always went in the end that entered the handset. At least motorola have changed it to a usb style port now.
Nokia have always been the sturdest with a nipple entering the handset , its just a shame they actually keep changing the dimensions of this !

I recently got another Sirocco for my Sister, but the phone software looks different :-
Nokia 8800
V 04.10
06-04-06
RM-13
(C) NMP.
Externally the phones are the same - Second phone is made in Finland, whilst the first one is made in Germany. Anyone knows more about this?

The V4.10 is a normal 8800 - not a Sirocco. v4.21 is very latest for a 8800 Sirocco

i visited the nokia 8800 sirocco experience website on nokia asia, there were downloadable wallpapers and screensavers for the computer there as well, now i click the links but they are blank, the links are dead, where can i find the wallpapers for my computer.

Try re booting by removing the battery for a few minutes.
Make sure the ports are clean of dust.
If needed take the handset into your nearest nokia service centre for a software/firmware update.

8800 sirocco sim problem

Hi,
I just bought a Nokia 8800 sirocco versace edition on ebay to use with my t-mobile and attt sim cards; it doesn't recognize either one of them. What can I do???

The 8800 Sirocco is a GSM phone and not many networks in the USA use GSM. I believe AT&T does provide GSM service in some areas but on the whole you'll have difficulty finding areas where it'll work. The 8800 Sirocco edition was not intended for the North American market.

There are no reset codes that you can use on the sirocco if it cannot boot to the homescreen.
All you can try when it's doing this is to try it without the sim card in. If it still doesn't work then your only option is to take it to a nokia care point for repair.

hello i have a nokia 8800 sirocco gold and sometimes it shows a headset or a cae in the main screen and all the sounds are gone! it thinks that i have pluged a headphone some how or iam in a car! can anyone help me in how to fix this problem!! is there some way i can DISABLE these features or something!

Try switching the phone on without your sim card inserted.
If it boots normally then try again with your sim in. If it fails again contact your network for a new sim.
If it fails to boot without the sim then you need to get it repaired at a nokia care point/service centre.
