9.04 vs 10.1.3 standalone compatibility

I have a jar that was built in UNIX for Oracle OC4J Application-server 9.04. In this jar is a servlet, _ssochoosefdrcode, that has been compiled from a jsp.
I am now trying to use this jar in eclipse on oc4j standalone 10.1.3. When my project attempts to load _ssochoosefdrcode I get the following error:
oracle.classloader.util.AnnotatedNoClassDefFoundError:

If I build my project in UNIX, it runs with no errors on the 9.04. At this time, upgrading from 9.04 to newer oc4j in not an option. Is 10.1.3 standalone not compatible with 9.04?
Thanks, Dan

i'll have to say that this is pretty .... up!
migrating from one 'minor' release to the next
10.1.2.0.2 -> 10.1.3
should NOT be this much hazzle.
you guys really really need to hire some usability people .. not only on the front end, but towards your dev tools as well .. cause ppl will LEAVE you over .... like this.
You know, java, ejb, j-whatever, is ALL ABOUT having the developer concentrate on developing business logic... so why am i fiddeling around with configuration files and whatnot wasting time that could have been saved with a little effort on the usability side of this product ?
and what the hell happend to orion ?

    Hi,
I just upgraded from Java 1.7 to 1.8 (1.8.0_31) and my apexlistener (actually RDS 2.0.10) doesn't start anymore due to an exception error with the message below :

Should I reinstall Java 7? is there any foreseen patch for RDS if it's a compatibility issue ? I also precise that I'm running my Apex environment in a standalone mode.
    Thanks for your feedback.

There is no official statement of certification for Java 8. We do support it, however, our stress testing is focused primary on Java 7.

  • No Standalone Upgrade Pathway For CS6 Apps

As many of you who are regular in the forums know, I am a supporter and early adopter of Creative Cloud.
However as few you are ready to admit, I'm not a blind sheep drinking the red Adobe Koolaid...
There are in fact glaring flaws in Adobe Creative Cloud, both in terms of the business model and some the Applications methods.
One of these is the overall upgrade pathway which has changed dramatically...
On top of limiting the Upgrade Pathway to 2 versions back (CS5 and 5.5), Standalone products have been elimintated from the upgrade pathway.
As many of you know the standalone upgrade pathway has been a beneift Adobe has provided since CS was first introduced over 10 years ago.
Now only Bundle users of these previouis versions can upgrade. Anyone else has to buy new Bundles outright meaning that their older standalone license provides no addtional value or upgrade opportunity/savings as it had in the past.
I pesronally don't understand this from a business point of view as announcing this change and allowing 6 months before closing the standalone upgrade would have been financially beneficial. See unlike most people who are complaining about Creative Cloud subscription model, I don't believe Adobe is doing it to "rake in the cash" or because its a "scam".
If that were true, announcing the upgrade pathway for Standalone products would be ending and putting a countdown clock would have made them huge revenue as I anticipate the following would have taken place:
Standalone users of Products like InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and Flash, would have upgraded to Design Standard, Design Premium, Production Premium or Web Premium to get the most out of their Standalone product in terms of savings without moving to Creative Cloud, and to be able to leverage those other products without moving from the box model if they plan to expand their business in the future.
Studios and Agencies with older individual boxed products would have upgraded to take advantage of savings and still be able to stay out of Creative Cloud.
Freelancers using any one of the three "Trinity Products" (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) would have upgrade for the $500 difference as this is less than a year of Creative Cloud and would allow them to keep a box product if they plan expanding their services within the scope of the Trinity.
While I don't appreciate this as I was looking at getting some value and savings out of some old standalone products I have on various machines throughout the years, it tells me for certain that there is more to this than money (which I realized early and have been trying to point out).
It may be a STRONG ARM and forceful tactic, but Adobe is trying to move as many people as possible on to a SINGLE CODE BASE and they anticipate they will be able to do it within 3-5 years using their current aggressive strategy.
Why some of you may not care, those of you who are either into technology, do alot of collaboration or are intruiged by some Adobe's business decisions will want to read on about what I'm seeing here.
Those of you who have ever had to manage a large website without the benefit of a CMS know that when you have to update something "minor" it can have major implecations. Especially if certain indivual pages or functionality were "inherited" from how someone else coded the site before you and changing too many things to be more efficient would require a complete tear down and overall. Adobe CC was that tear down and overall as they scrapped much of the legacy code that was still around in CS6 (which also had huge coding overhauls). For example, there was a lot of junk code in the Mac version of InDesign even in CS6 and they upgraded that product to a 64bit version, which is a huge deal when you are doing 1000 page technical manuals in InDesign...
Now imagine that you have to manage maintaining for all OS versions for the forseeable future all 12 of the main Applications in versions CS3- CS6 and CC that is over 70 Applications to maintain the codebase for. Imagine being told you have to maintain that many websites, all with their own indiviudal logic, quirks and standards with huge gaps of inconsistency in between.
Now imagine you could make the decision to only have to maintain 24 and eventually just 12...
Now if your in video production or print production, imagine you never have to export or package your files to accomodate for the fact you and someone else may be on a different Adobe version.
Now you can see why these tactics are being enforced even though in the short term they actually cost Adobe money and potentially even customers. Its a long end game based in the logistics of support, management and reallocating those resources to moving forward and eventually only ever building around a singular code base. Instead of Adobe dividing resources and attention across the legacy products everything will laser focused on maintaining what I refer to as "Adobe Solid (CS6-CC)" vs "Adobe Legacy (CS1-CS5.5)". Even just supporting "Modern Adobe (CS3-CS5.5)" would be (and has been) very labor intensive.
Microsoft made a similar attempt to reduce their burden by abandoning support of all Windows versions prior to Vista.
When you detach from the emotional sense of shock, betrayal or what have you and put yourself in the position of making a productivity based decision that reduces your own overhead and cost, its hard not understand where Adobe is coming from here. In their situation I think most of us would make the same choices. Companies who make decisions based on customer reactions, shock value etc. instead of figuring out what is and is not sustainable.
Also if you look at the long term in 3-5 years most Adobe users will be on either CS6 or CC. Eventually Adobe will not support CS6 on new operating systems which means 5-8 years from now we can expect the majority of Adobe users will be on Creative Cloud, consolidating the ecosystem ( a very Apple like idea actually). Eliminating several problems in terms of compatibility within the Creative Services Industry and reducing Adobe's burden in managing Adobe Legacy and thus internal cost, which will ideally translate eventually to reduced cost to customers or added value to the Creative Cloud product library.
I can be optimistic in this way because of Adobe's track record in adding value and services, discounts etc in the past, and the fact they have not raised rates. Since CS was introduced over 10 years ago if anything the rates have gotten cheaper even while the software continues to improve. For all of what Photoshop did for the price 10 years ago, the price today is the same and its is so much more than a mere image editing progam, now capable of Video, Animation/Motion Graphics, 3D modeling, Some Web Design, it really is the swiss army knife  of the Creative Services Industry.
So am I annoyed at the Upgrade pathway being narrowed down to nothing. Absolutely. Do I think it was done purely for greed. No. It doesn't make sense, I would literally be trying to give me money and they are not giving me a way to do it, because they aggressively are on a path that is about a larger goal than taking that money from me today. Do I feel alienated, yes on the surface. Do I still understand and support the decision, Absolutely.
When something is the right choice, its the right choice, regardless of whether it is right for you. I can't argue with practicallity even when I'm screwed by it, so all I can do is try to be on the right side of it, and get over it when I'm not. It's not something I recommend taking personally.
There were people who couldn't appreciate this when the transition from film to digital was taking place. Where are they now. The times they are a changing.

I have to respectfully disagree with you.... Adobe has changed to a company all about profit. For me profit is not a dirty word. we all need it to stay in business...
However... I purchased my CS6 collection completely online... I can update it when I choose... and I own it... last year we had the choice to own or rent..
I chose to own.... I dont begrudge the renters I merely want choice...  Adobe removed choice because it realized it could turn us into digital addicts... stop renting
and yes your files dont vanish but you cant use them... .... dont confuse software evolution with monopolisation and Digital Racketeering. ..Adobe made almost a Billion
dollar NET profit last year...I think they deserved it... but gouging users is not the way to go....
The answer I normally get here is well stay on CS6... and I will..... the out pouring of hate with the cloud is because so many users actually love adobe products.. I know
I do... There will be a gap in the market for about two years as other companies replace Adobes products... but it will happen.. I like many others will wait it out...
For me the ones I feel sorry for are Adobe employees who are left with the fallout of this horrendous decisicion... I salute you from afar....

  • What do I need to build & deploy a Flex/Coldfusion standalone app?

I have been a CF developer for almost 10 years, but have no experience with Flex. I have a new opportunity to create Windows-based standalone applications. I have investigated .NET and I am not impressed as it just seems to be needlessly complex and bloated. Instead, I am considering leveraging my CF experience and taking a serious look at Flex with ColdFusion.
My application needs to run on PCs that are located on boats at sea. Their only connection to the Internet is via a satellite modem. The standalone app. needs to have data entered, which is stored in a local database. When the skipper is ready, he/she will switch the modem on, transmit the saved data (takes about 10 seconds) and switch the modem off. This means that the application code, runtime environment, database, and services (e.g. ColdFusion cfcs) must all be loaded on the PC. Also, I do not want the application to run in a web browser (many boats have old versions of Windows and IE).
I understand that I should be able to do this by using the AIR runtime.
    Here are my questions/challenges:
1.) The application itself must be provided free of charge. Would I be required to purchase a ColdFusion licence for each installed copy of the application?
2.) If I would have to pay a licensing fee for each CF installation, will Flex 4 work with an open source CF engine such as Open BlueDragon or Ralio instead?
3.) Any suggestions regarding the database that I should use (e.g. Derby, H2, SQL Server Express)?
4.) Installation must be simple. Skippers must be able to download an installation file (e.g. an .exe) and run it. The install program must install the database, the latest Flash player for Windows, the CF engine, and the generated .swf files, cfc files, etc. Can all of this be bundled up when FlashBuilder and/or AIR prepares an application for deployment? When the application is run, it must start the database engine and the CF engine in addition to the Flash front-end.
I'm eagerly await your answers with fingers crossed. This project has the potential to create a very cool, unique application!

Hi Paul, thanks for the quick reply.
We have created the onboard app., but not in Flex. It is written in ColdFusion (version 8) with AJAX and uses an Apache Derby database and Open BlueDragon as the CF engine. The whole thing runs in a browser onboard. We had a custom Java launcher written. It starts the database and Open BlueDragon and then launches the PC's default browser with the localhost URL of the application home page. The biggest drawback with this whole approach has been browser compatibility. Some boats still use IE version 6. Our application simply won't work on versions IE prior to 7.0. It also takes quite a while for the launcher to start up all of the related applications, etc. The application runs more slowly than it would as a desktop application since web pages have to load as the user moves from one screen to another.
I am investigating whether we should re-write our application from scratch using Flex/AIR. My hope is that that we can put together all of the parts of the application in a single, standalone environment. Through some investigation, I have just realized that AIR includes SQLLite, so we won't need a separate database/launcher. We also won't need to use AJAX since the Flash will provide a UI that has all of the flexibility that we'll need. I also assume that the AIR runtime will include a standalone Windows Flash Player, so we don't need to use whatever web browser is on the boats.
So far, everything sounds great. My only remaining question is whether I could create the data access services as ColdFusion CFCs without having to install ColdFusion on the onboard PCs. I've been looking through the Adobe literature and it seems to imply that AIR can use ColdFusion 9 CFCs without CF being installed, but I cannot find a definitive statement on this. If this is the case, I will download CF 9, CF Builder, Flash Builder, and AIR and start learning and building right away.

  • DVDSP DVD's play fine in macs but not in standalone players...

This might be attached to my previous problem, but I thought I would give it a new topic as it is now a new problem.
The DVD's I have made in DVDSP play as they should in DVD Player when inserted into the two iMacs we have, however when we insert the discs into a standalone/set top player, the DVD plays the main track first and THEN goes back to the menu.
What should happen is that a short intro video plays (first play) then onto the Menu where, of course, the viewer makes their selection.
If I stop the DVD by hitting th STOP button on the standalone player several times, I eject the disc and then re-insert it, the DVD plays as it should; showing the first play video and then going to the menu.
Would anyone know a solution to the problem apart from telling the client to hit stop first, ejecting and then re-inserting the DVD?
    Cheers,
    Spookola

I can only tell you what I'd start doing because I don't know what is happening here any more than you do. First I'd buy some other brand -R dvd blanks. Next I'd make some minor change to the DVD SP setup and burn a new set. You should know that burning dvd's on a Mac or PC is not as foolproof as commercially burned dvd's. You CANNOT guarantee compatibility. If you sell 50 copies you WILL find some people that can't play yours because of compatibility issues. For them you can try burning a +R dvd or buy another external burner and try that too. No single solution will guarantee compatibility when burning from a computer and playing on a commercial dvd player. some folks "never have a problem" but in general I think that's because they don't burn that many dvd's for that many people. sooner or later most folks that burn dvd movies on their mac or pc will find somebody that can't read their dvd.

  • Migrating from Cisco 4402 to 5508 - AP Compatibility

We currently run six 4402 Wireless lan controllers - these are managed by a WCS server - soon to be replaced by Cisco Prime.
We run a mixture of LAP1242 and LAP1142 wireless access points.
I need to add more but have been told by my supplier that the both these AP's are now end of sale and cannot be purchased.
The replacement AP's are the 2600 series - but I have been told that these are not compatible with my existing 4402 controllers.
To make matters worse I was then advised that if I purchase the new 5580 controllers the older LAP1242 access points will not work with it and require replacing - this, for me, is a lot of access points.
What I need to know is:
What access points, if any, are currently available that are compatible with my 4402 controllers and a future 5508 installation?
I ssem to be in a situation now where I cannot buy any access points that will work with my 4402's but if I upgrade all my current 1242's will not funtion with the new 5508 controller!
    Scott

So a user said in another post that they were NOT able to boot in UEFI mode and install Fedora even though it is UEFI compatible.  But this person was able to useLegacy mode and install Fedora, and furthermore, was able to "keep the Windows partition."  I'm guessing that means that Win 8 that came with it, which would be installed in UEFI/GPT mode, correct?  I'm specificly referring to the Y510P but from what I understand *every* laptop that comes preinstalled with Win 8 must be UEFI/GPT.
So the way I understand it is that the installed Fedora is in "BIOS"/GPT mode rather than "BIOS"/MBR mode because you can't have both GPT and MBR on the same disc.
I have just started learning about this UEFI/BIOS and MBR/GPT nonsense, and it's going to drive me crazy until I finally understand it. So I guess what I'm asking is:
    1) When I get my y510p I assume it will be in UEFI/GPT mode. Can I install non-UEFI distros alongside it as I take it was done with Fedora?
    2) If I install a linux distro alongside Win 8, do I have to worry about compatibility issues with a drive that is in GPT format? Or does the MBR/GPT issue have nothing to do with it, so I don't have to worry about ever changing my drive to MBR?
For example, I read that Win 7 must be installed either as BIOS/MBR or UEFI/GPT.  This can not be mixed and matched.  This means that if I could not get the Windows 7 installer to boot in UEFI I would have to install as MBR.  This also means I would have to format the drive and reinstall Win 8 on the MBR.
So my question is do other OS's like Linux have these restrictions?  (For example, if a particular distro will not boot in UEFI and therefor MUST install on MBR)
    3) I have a pendrive with YUMI installed with a ton of distros/tools/Win installs/etc. (It is a USB boot tool like unetbootin that allow you to add multiple bootable images.) When I tried it recently on my dad's laptop.  I have used it many, many times with my older computers, none of which were UEFI.  It works great.  Now that I've had a recent encounter with my dad's ASUS Windows 8 computer (not with the y510p yet) I found out that UEFI seems to be complicating the crap out of things (for me, at least.)
So when I used this computer, I noticed that when I boot (with legacy mode enabled) and enter the "boot selection screen" in order to boot with USB, I have two options a) UEFI:"name of usb" and b) "name of USB". The UEFI option would NOT boot, but it would boot without the UEFI: option.
So does this mean that I am booting in non-UEFI mode and once I have booted this way and choose a distro to install that it CANNOT install in UEFI mode?  I recently saw a tool called Rufus that I have yet to try that has an option to set the bootable USB to UEFI, so that would possibly work if I wanted to install a UEFI compatible distro (Arch linux is what I'm wanting.)
    4)  If installing a UEFI compatible distro (such as Arch) requires that the USB device be able to boot in UEFI mode has anyone been able to do this?  Has anyone even been able to boot a device in UEFI mode to do *anything* such as run a live linux?
I'm 99% sure I would be able to boot in legacy mode and run a live linux (because I did so on my dad's computer) but the problems arise when I consider how to INSTALL.
I would really like to know the answers to these questions (as scattered as they are.) Any help would be appreciated!
    Unnecessary info:
(I started learning about BIOS/UEFI and MBR/GPT the hard way a few days ago by trying for hours to install Windows 7 on my dad's Windows 8 laptop because I could NOT get Win 7 installation to work...it kept asking for drivers before I could install until I finally used the Windows USB install tool, put the stick in a different USB, AND formatted the drive as MBR because Windows 7 would NOT install on the existing GPT drive until I used diskpart.exe -clean. And I have read that Win 7 64 bit will work fine on a UEFI/GPT setup. I used the Windows 7 USB boot tool which did NOT give me a UEFI: and regular option. It showed up simply as "name of usb" without a UEFI in front. Since I read that Windows 7 must either be in BIOS/MBR mode or UEFI/GPT mode that this drive would not boot in UEFI mode, and I don't know why...Although I believe I read that Win 7 cannot be installed from a USB in UEFI/GPT mode, only BIOS/MBR.  UEFI/GPT mode requires a DVD install but I did not have a drive to test this.)

I have a Y510p which is running dual boot Windows 8.1 and Arch Linux.   I think that it is strongly advised to do plenty of reading ahead of any install if you will be using UEFI and Linux so that you understand all the issued before making critical changes to the existing system.
Yes, if the machine comes with Windows 8 (as mine did) then the disk will be formatted with a GPT partition table (instead of the old MBR partitioning scheme), and will boot using UEFI. If you are going to try to keep the existing Windows 8 system and add Linux then you will need to keep the disk with its GPT partition table and partition structure, but you can shrink the Windows 8 C: drive to make space for the Linux partitions that are needed ( a root partition and at least a /home and/or /opt partition and possibly a linux swap partition also ).  If you want to boot the Linux install via UEFI then you can simply add the required boot directory to the EFI System Partition (ESP).
However it is very important that before trying to do any linux install that you switch off Fastboot from within WIndows 8 (or 8.1). Also most Linux distributions are in some difficulty booting using Secure Boot, though a few such a Ubuntu and Fedora are supposed to be able to do so. Hence it is much easier to work with Linux if Secure Boot is first switched off from the BIOS settings menu.
    The order of operations that I used was;
    1) Switch off Secure Boot from the BIOS - and boot back into the Windows 8 system to check that it boots OK.
    2) With Windows 8 running go into the settings and switch off Fastboot (which does a hybrid suspend when it shuts down instead of a full normal shutdown - if you don't do this then the memory gets overwritten when booting Linux in the future which means booting back into Windows will fail).
    3) Reboot back into WIndows and check all is well, and if so then use the disk management facility within Windows 8 to shrink the C: drive to make room for the Linux partitions.
    4) Reboot to check Windows 8 still boots OK.
    5) If you are going to update to Windows 8.1 then do so, and then update everything once it is booted (it is a huge update and takes ages!). Once done then you will likely have to update drivers for the graphics cards, the clickpad and possibly the wireless chip and ethernet chip. I found that I needed to get drivers that were newer than were available on the Lenovo website, by going to the relevant hardware manufacturer website (eg for synaptics for the clickpad). Then spent a week or so in the evenings getting Windows 8.1 configured the way I like it.
    6) Then I did a lot of reading about the various options for the boot manager that would suit a UEFI boot for a dual boot system for Windows 8.1 and Arch Linux and there was a choice of Grub, Gummiboot, rEFInd, and others - and after reading the details I decided on rEFInd as my boot manager which can boot not only any new Arch Linux install but automatically finds the Windows UEFI boot files and presents the options in a nice graphical window once the system gets past POST at bootup.
    7) It was important to check which partition was the ESP and to know what partitions I needed to create for the Arch Linux system.  Then I went ahead and booted from a usbkey to a uefi install system, and very carefully proceeded with a standard Arch Linux install, being particularly careful to know where to put the rEFInd boot manager files and the kernel and initrd files. Also I used efibootmgr to write the appropriate NVRAM boot entry in the motherboard memory so that the uefi boot system knows where to find the rEFInd uefi boot files in the ESP.
    8) Once complete the system boots to Arch Linux as the default, with a nice Windows icon which you can select with the arrow keys within the boot timeout period (default 20 seconds).
I noted also that it is possible to create boot stanzas in the rEFInd boot manager config files which allow rEFInd to chain load other Linux systems or even other bootloaders if you wish - so it is very flexible. So if you want to you could install a grub standalone set of diretories/files so that if the normal linux boot fails then you can select the grub icon from rEFInd and chainload grub to boot either the same Archlinux install, or point to a third linux distribution if you have more partitions containing that third install which might be Ubuntu or Mint or ....
Either way although getting to understand how uefi boot works is a learning curve it is actually generally simpler than the old legacy BIOS boot. With uefi you no longer need an MBR on the drive, and only a suitable EFI System Partition which has to be VFAT formatted. However if you want to have one of the linux distributions booting from legacy MBR then you need to create an MBR at the start of the drive - so you would need to move the start of the first partition and create a suitable sized Master Boot Record otherwise MBR boot can't work. If you do that then of course you have to be careful if the Windows partition is the one being re-sized that it doesn't mess up the Windows boot! However since using uefi to boot rEFInd allows a chainload to grub/gummiboot or other bootloaders then there should be no need to mess with MBR booting if you go down that route.
If you are interested in rEFInd then the author Rod Smith has a good set of documentation that describe the details at http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/
He is also the author of a really excellent disk partitioner for GPT disks - http://www.rodsbooks.com/gdisk/
Clearly it is necessary to read up on the boot facilities available for any linux distribution that you plan to put on the system.
One nice thing is that uefi boot with an efistub supported kernel build is really fast on the Y510p. My system boots Arch linux in about 7 seconds to the KDE login prompt once the POST is complete and that only takes a couple of seconds.  Of course Windows is much slower once it is selected at the rEFInd screen and takes somewherearound 40 seconds or so to boot, but at least Linux is super fast!
Anyway I hope that this helps.

  • Web Service WLS9.2 and WLS6.1 SOAP compatibility

We have a Web Service (running on WLS6.1) which has been published for a long time, and many customers have developed their own clients.
Now we must upgrade our Web Service from WLS6.1 to WLS9.2. In practice we had to re-develope the Web Service starting form the original WSDL.
The new WSDL is identical to the original one, and the business code inside has obviously been kept the same.
The new Java Test Client that we generated with clientgen (WLS92) works fine, but we need to guarantee total compatibility for all the clients developed for the 6.1 version.
Unfortunately testing our new Web Service (WLS9.2) with our old java Client (developed with WLS6.1), we found that the SOAP implementation of arrays has changed, and therefore the old client is not compatible with the new Web Services.
Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround or a solution to this problem?

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply
I downloaded OC4J 10.1.2.0.2 and ran it as as a standalone server.
I read the blog you linked and made the changes to the web.xml for the webservice. All of which I was able to do using the property palette in jdev 10.1.2.1.0.
I deployed my webservice to my oc4j standalone server and it appeared as a new application. I editied the orion-web.xml for the new application manually.
When I point my browser at the webservice I get the test page which allows me to pass parameters to the webserive. I invoke the webservice (which does a HTTP GET according to the test page) and the webservice runs. No user and password is needed though.
What is the expected behaviour? I was hoping that the webservice wouldn't run until I supplied the admin user name and password

  • Standalone ITS 6.20 support?

How long do you expect that standalone ITS 6.20 will be supported?   I know that the FAQ says "long term" but it said that the integrated ITS in 6.40 will only be supported through 2009.  We're hearing that standalone ITS 6.20 is "going away".   Can you provide any more specifics on the support end date for ITS 6.20?
We need to know because we are considering moving applications from ITS 6.10 to ITS 6.20 but we might do something different if support for ITS 6.20 will be going away soon.

    Hello Krista,
As Henning said, the ITS 6.20 is planned for long term support.  I don't think support of ITS 6.20 should be the major concern as there are other considerations you should make when deciding on which ITS (integrated or external) to use for your upgrade.  For instance:
    - Ease of maintenance.  The Integrated ITS is usually easier to maintain as updates and upgrades can be done to the entire SAP system and you will need one less server.
    - Future compatibility with SAP systems.  Note that a 7.00 kernel system cannot be accessed using an ITS 6.20.  Please see "Platforms and FAQ" in http://service.sap.com/sap-its for more details.
    - Support for your applications.  Please check that the applications you plan to use are supported on your target ITS version.
I'm sure there are others, but that should get you started.

  • Forcing pack200 1.5 compatibility using 1.6

The documentation for Pack200.Packer in Java 1.6 states:
"In order to maintain backward compatibility, if the input JAR-files are solely comprised of 1.5 (or lesser) classfiles, a 1.5 compatible pack file is produced. Otherwise a 1.6 compatible pack200 file is produced."
What I want to do is force all Jar files irregardless of content to be output in 1.5 compatible format. Is it possible to do this?

I've got the same problem. People on MAC can't unpack my pack.gz files packed with 1.6. Also, I didn't find any standalone pack200 packer compatible with 1.5. pack200.exe from 1.5 bin folder contains dependencies to 1.5 dlls such as java.dll etc =(
However, I was surprised when I packed my jar with pack200 from 1.5 and got the same file sizes on all jars!!! It's very strange. Because I completely removed 1.6 from my system.

  • Air Force provided a standalone copy of CC - Install fails on certain computers.

We have a stand alone version of CC provided by the Air Force for use on their networks. After extracting the 15.9GB full version and trying to install the progress bar goes back to 0 and the install fails.
    From our download page:
    ADOBE
    ADOBE Software Products
"AF Adobe Software Distribution provides a limited subset of Adobe software products to a select group of AF members.  The subset of software currently includes the Adobe Acrobat Professional and Creative Cloud Suite (Full and Single Products).  The Adobe Acrobat Professional software distributed on this page is packaged with LiveCycle Designer software and is intended for usage on NIPR or standalone environments. If Adobe Acrobat Professional is being installed on an AF SIPR networked computer, the software should be downloaded from the AFCEDS AIS “SDC-DSCC” >> “SDC Separate Components” and will not include the LiveCycle Designer software.
I have attempted single install and full install products, logged in a different users with different levels of permissions, ran the CC cleaner, and ended the adobetray process. The install works on our HP Z820s but not our HP Z420s. Both machines are 64bit and use the same standard USAF image and receive the same updates via SCCM. Also, they have not had creative cloud installed before and the only Adobe products installed are Captivate 7 and Flash player.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
    -Jason

That fix did not work. I tried it on multiple machines with no luck. I don't think it is an issue with the package since it runs on one of our computer models but not the other.
Again, as the progress bar for the install is filling up it stops and then goes back down to 0%. I get a windows popup stating asking if the program installed correctly and states that there may be compatibility issues. I am running the 64bit install on my 64 bit machines. Attempting to install the individual programs provided by the Air Force results in the same error.
I can provide any system info you need to troubleshoot further. To knock out the obvious, I am using 64bit windows 7 and the 64bit windows full CC offline installer.

  • Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 - tools to help do compatibility checks

Is there any way to do a compatibility check prior to running the Windows 2008 upgrade on a windows 2003 standalone server.   Any tools that might help me see issues prior to.

  • Adding sites to compatibility mode and trusted sites, IE10 and Server 2008

We're having a challenge with configuring a GPO to add several sites to Compatibility View Settings as well as adding several others (the same sites, plus some others) to Trusted Sites.  We are currently running VMware's Persona Management/floating
pools (thin provisioned linked clones), with the appdata folder redirected to the Persona server.  Clients are running IE10, DCs are running Server 2008 R2 with IE8.
gpresult/r shows the GPO listed under Applied GPOs on the User Settings side (and all the settings are user settings); however, compatibility and trusted sites settings do not apply.
From prior research on the topic, I seem to recall that I needed to install the IE10 IEAK; however, I cannot install that without having IE10 installed first, and I cannot install IE10 without installing the pre-requisite elements, which I cannot install
(either through Windows Update or the IE10 standalone installer).  When the IE10 install fails, it refers me to a Microsoft KB article that won't open.  If I open the article on a workstation PC, I find links to five separate prerequisite files.
If I download all five files and attempt to install them, they say they're not applicable to my computer.  I can't post links in this article yet (account hasn't been verified), but a Google search for "MS KB 2818833" leads to the page with
    the links.
    64-bit Server 2008 R2.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi,
Before going further, how did we configure the settings? Since Windows 8, the IEM settings have been deprecated.  As a result, IEM settings won't apply to IE10 or above. However, in this situation, we should be able to use administrative templates
to configure the settings we want.

  • ITS 6.1 compatability with ECC 6.0

    Hi,
can you say me whether ITS 6.1 is compatable with ECC 6.0?
    Thanks,
    Architha

    Hi,
latest ITS standalone version was 6.20.
But this can not be used with systems based on 7.0 kernel. Here you should use the integrated ITS.

  • Maximize compatibility problem

I've been using LR 2.5 and now 2.6 for a while now and am finally prompted to post. From time to time, I have problems importing files. If it's a PSD file, then typically I get the old chestnut about saving with maximize compatibility turned on. Which is something I always do, because the LR installation notes told me to do it.  I also have problems importing the occasional JPEG, maybe no more than 1 in a 100.  I can barely import TIFF files at all -
more than 50% of the time LR just gives me the familiar gray rectangle and the warning mark. Keep in mind that these TIFF files aren't fancy - they're just boring old 16-bit RBG or sometimes 16-bit grayscale straight from my scanner. I would estimate that I can't import about 80% of my PSD files (I have CS2) in spite of having "maximize compatibility" turned on.  I've tried tried re-saving the PDF file. Doesn't work.  I've tried adding a layer, then saving. No joy.  I've tried SHIFT-CTRL-ALT-e to create a whole new rolled-up layer. No way.  On larger files PS even confirms that it's saving a full resolution composite. Do you think it makes any difference to LR?  No on your life.
I've put up with this for some time, and now I'd like to know if this is normal.  I've almost given up trying to import PSD files, and that doesn't seem right at all.  The problems seem to occur more on larger files (say, 100MB+) than on smaller, but that may be my imagination.  I've most recently had the problem on a 16-bit greyscale PSD file on which I've made some extensive changes and re-saved (compat mode is ALWAYS on). LR keeps rejecting it. I've just now resorted to creating a 16-bit greyscale, single-layer file in PS (all of 1.5MB) and LR STILL won't import it!  Bridge thinks it's fine. Bridge thinks they're all fine.
This is really getting me down.  How on earth do photographers with large legacy collections of PS files (i.e. every last one of us) survive? Pity help people with TIFF files, I feel sorry for them.  Perhaps it's just some fragility with my system?  I'd love to know.
Thanks for any hints or tips.  I must be missing something obvious.
    Regards,
    -darryl

    Ed,
There may be a CS2 vs. CS4 difference which is just confusing things.
If you look back my original posting in this thread, you'll see that I had problems importing TIFF files as well.  Those problems were fixed by removing my Lightroom preferences file. Since then, importing TIFFs has been fine.
I don't know what "com.apple.Photoshop.plist" is - I'm guessing it's where Photoshop stores preferences on a Mac?  I am currently using a Windoze laptop, but am planning to get a Mac, so will soon be educated in the finer things of life!
Regading Photoshop "asking" or not: what I notice is that if I use Photoshop standalone, then it does indeed ask.  If I start Photoshop from Lightroom, then it doesn't ask.  Some magic must be happening behind the scenes because even from the very beginning, starting Photoshop from Lightroom on an existing image always worked fine (I would have had Maximize Compatibility set to Always in those days).  My problems were always with importing pre-existing PSD files which were saved with Maximize Compatibilty set to Never.
I'm glad you managed to make some progress, though.  The more I use Lightroom, the more I wonder how I ever survived without it.
    Regards,
    -darryl
