9.3.1.0 Interactive Reporting - Service Fix

I have a problem with my current software, Hyperion support said I should download the 9.3.1.0.11 service fix for Hyperion Reporting and Analysis Client, but I looked all through edelivery.oracle.com and couldn't find it. Do any of you know where it is?
"The files that need to be downloaded are:
Hyperion System 9 BI+ 9.3.1.0.11 Service Fix Readme Hyperion.
System 9 BI+ 9.3.1.0.11 Service Fix Windows.
Check for the full Studio client 9.3.1.0.11 versoin.
Please go through the Readme file for steps to apply the service Fix."

We applied the fix and it resolved some issues for us. However, it seems to have introduced another problem.
When more than one bqy is run and left open and we close one of the windows and try opening and running another small bqy, the web client freezes.
The related entry in the dbgprint file is:
Failure in removal of file:C:\DOCUME~1\ij24\LOCALS~1\Temp\ODSC6.tmp.
Error: [13] <path specifies a read-only file>
Exception thrown in v1_bi_code\bq\query\qryom.cpp, line 375: Error during Process
Script(x):uncaught exception: Error during Process
Anyone else experiencing this? We have a red hat linux distributed environment.

  • Interactive report with fixed header

    hi @all
    is it possible to create a scrollable interactive (freeze panes) report?
    if so how?

    include the frs-table-header.js and jquery in your html header
    the frsIRSetup checks the value of a checkbox (#P' + gPAGEID + '_FREEZE_TABLE_HEADER_0) on the page so our users can enable/disable the freezing. and can just remove the if logic or hardcode the value of chk in frsIRSetup to always be true if you want to always enable scrolling.
    this should work for both IE and Firefox.
    I also include the following in the html header to make javascript files easy to deal with
    <script language="JavaScript1.1">

    var gSESSION = &SESSION.;
    var gDEBUG = "&DEBUG.";

  • Interactive reporting : error while refreshing MSSQL data in Workspace

    Hi all,
    I recently work with Hyperion and I am facing an issue that makes me crazy.
    My configuration is simple :
    - 1 win2003 server with Hyperion Interactive Reporting services and workspace installed (both works properly)
    - 1 winXP machine with MS Sql Server 2005
    - My dev PC an winXP with IR studio.
    I created an IR report with a MSSQL query that retrieves data into a Table.
    The report is displayed properly and the data is OK.
    When I refresh the data in IR studio, everything is OK.
    I import the OCE file into the the workspace, following by the BQY file.
    The report is displayed properly in workspace with the correct data.
    I change the data in the MSSQL server and I try to refresh the report in the workspace.
    So, I open the report in the workspace and I click on the refresh button.
    But when I do that, I get an error message.
    I read somewhere that we have to configure the DAS.
    I assume that the configuration is made via the Administer/Database connection management (sorry if names are not correct, but I have a french version).
    But when I try to add a new connection, I have only 4 choices for the type of database : Essabse, Financial Management, Planning and SAP BW.... No MSSQL Server.
    I hope that anyone among you can help me, but anyway, thanks for reading my post.

    You need to enter DATABASE details in DAS (Data Access Services) by running Service Configurator.
    Then run Remote and Local Service configurator to enter database details.
    ##I assume that the configuration is made via the Administer/Database connection management (sorry if names are not correct, but I have a french version).
    This is something related to Financial Reporting.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get .oce to talk to DAS & bring back data in Interactive Reporting?

    Hi Hyperion Experts,
    This is also a fairly basic question, I use Hyperion 9.3.1 and I have Shared Services, Workspace and Interactive Reporting Studio running on our Windows 2003 Server.
    My goal is to import a .bqy document I created in Interactive Reporting Studio into workspace, and be able to click on the "refresh" button and see it refreshes the data from the backend Oracle 10g database.
    I have completed the following steps so far,
    1. I have created a DSN. This DSN, named "Oracle 10g Data Source", when I clicked on "Test Connection" button, It ran successfully.
    2. I have created a new Datasource entry in the DAS service. If I double click on the newly created Datasource entry, the screen would display the following details.
    Connectivity Type = Oracle Net
    Database Type = Oracle
    Enter the name of the Data source = Oracle 10g Data Source
    Select the name of the Data source (it is grayed out, nothing selected)
    Server/File (it is grayed out, nothing entered)
    then, followed by some default connection parameters.
    3. I have created a "Oracle 10g Data Source.oce" file using the Interactive Reporting Studio. I saved the .oce file at
    C:\Hyperion\BIPlus\data\Open Catalog Extensions\Oracle 10g Data Source.oce
    4. I created a new constrProj_Oracle10gOCE.bqy, during the creation, I chose
    "Create a new document with Recent Database Connection File" option, then I chose the Oracle 10g Data Source.oce that I have created in step 3. After I log in with host user/password, I have created a data model and I see that it brings back a data set when I clicked on the "process" button. I saved this .bqy document.
    5.
    I imported the Oracle 10g Data Source.oce and constrProj_Oracle10gOCE.bqy into the workspace under a folder called
    Root/MYBI/Test
    6. I right click on the constrProj_Oracle10gOCE.bqy document, and chose "Open". It opened with Results section highlighted on the left hand side, and with data showing on the right hand side. However, when I clicked on the "refresh" button, I'd get a message box with a red X. It says,
    An Interactive Reporting Service error has occurred -
    Failed to acquire requested service.
    (2001)
    I guess the data I see in this constrProj_Oracle10gOCE.bqy was just the cached data that was brought back when I hit the process button of this .bqy when it was first created in the Studio, and that it never established any connection via the DAS service to the backend.
    Could someone please show me what I have done wrong here?
    thanks,
    hypuser1010

    EricaHarris,
    Yes, the issue is still open. Obviously, I have gone down the path of "Scenario One".
    Based on your reply, I have done the following.
    There are three things I am configuring here: DSN, DAS and OCE.
    1) When I created the DSN,
    I started the ODBC Data Source Administrator, Click on second tab "System DSN". I added a new ODBC Data Source.
    Data Source Name = Oracle 10g Data Source
    TNS Service Name = //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/MYORCL0617
    2) I re-created the DAS entry, per your suggestion, I made sure that "the name of the data source will be the host name you specified in your OCE".
    Connectivity Type = Oracle Net
    Database Type = Oracle
    Enter the name of the data source= //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/MYORCL0617
    3) for my OCE, I specified
    Connection Software = Oracle Net
    type of Database = Oracle
    on the first screen.
    then, on the next screen, I specified
    Host = //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/MYORCL0617
    I reployed the OCE, the .bqy document and restarted DAS. Yes, my .bqy document does refresh its data successfully from the backend.
    However, I am not 100% convinced that the .bqy uses the OCE which talks to the DAS, which talks to the DSN entry and brings data back to the .bqy document.
    Here is what I did,
    I opened up the DSN entry, changed the TNS Service Name from //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/MYORCL0617 to
    //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/NONSENSE. I then restarted DAS and redeployed the .bqy document. the .bqy document is still able to refresh its data. So, I have just proven that the .bqy document does not need a valid DSN entry to work, how come??
    Can you (or anyone) please explain the phenomenon that I see?
    Also, a very basic question. you know that when you create a .bqy in the Studio, you "import" an OCE into the .bqy document so that the .bqy knows that it should use this OCE to talk to the backend data source. but, when you deploy this .bqy in workspace, how does the .bqy know that it is supposed to go through DAS (and DSN) to interact with the database, rather than the "internal" OCE that was pre-built with this .bqy?
    thanks,
    hypuser1010

  • Interactive reporting service1 not running

    Hi All,
    Whenever i try to logon to Workspace i am getting this message "Could not find a Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - System 9 server running on <servername> at port 6800. Please verify your server connect string and confirm that the server is up."

    Hi
    i also faced such an issue and then i found the answer on metalink
    Error: "An Interactive Reporting Service Error has Occurred. Failed to Acquire Requested Service. Error Code: 2001" when Processing a bqy Report in Workspace. [ID 1117395.1]
    Applies to:
    Hyperion BI+ - Version: 11.1.1.2.00 and later [Release: 11.1 and later ]
    Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Symptoms
    Obtaining the following error when trying to process a BQY that uses an Essbase data source in Workspace:
    "An Interactive Reporting Service error has occurred. Failed to acquire requested service. Error Code: 2001".
    Cause
    The name of the data source in the CMC contained the machine name in fully qualified name format whereas the OCE contained the machine name only. This mismatch in machine names caused the problem. Making the machine name identical in both cases resolved the problem.
    Solution
    Ensure that the name of the data source as specified in the OCE in Interactive Reporting Studio matches the name specified in the CMC tool in the field "Enter the name of the data source".
    In fact, all fields need to match between the OCE and the CMC Data Source.

  • Installing Essbase + Interactive Reporting

    Hi
    We would like to install Essbase and Interactive Reporting services on one Server. Is this possible?
    Regards,
    Néstor Boscán

    Hi,
    For development environment, I don't see where the concern is. This only means that you won't need to install Essbase client with IR since you've got Essbase server installed. However, I usually have them installed separately in production environment.

  • Reporting Services Error after Interactive sorting and drill down in pps

    Hi
    i have a report  that has a drill down option that shows all workgroups within a specific  parent group and an interactive sorting ass well on both columns  parent group &  workgroup
    This is displayed  in pps combined with a SharePoint
    ---the problem is that after sorting the parent group column by name   i then press the drill through icon  (+) next to it hopping to see all workgroups related to each parent group
      - but instead
    i receive this Reporting Services Error  :
    The value for parameter 'SortItem' is not specified. It is either missing from the function call, or it is set to null. (rsMissingParameter) Get
    Online Help
    If I don't press the sorting and just drill through it works fine. the sorting itself also works fine.
    any suggestions ?

    Hi Hyaron,
    I am unable to reproduce the issue in my test environment. How did you add the drilldown feature? Were you doing that by setting visibility of the column or of the group? Please ensure to add the drilldown functionality by set the visibility of the workgroup
    from the Grouping Pane in the Report Designer.
    How did you add the Interactive Sorting on the headers of the two columns? Based on the drilldown functionality, the Interactive Sorting on the second column doesn’t work. So, you can move the Interactive Sorting on the second column. When configuring the
    Interactive sorting on the first column, you should set the parent group to sort, and sort by the field that the parent group groups by.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need to fix the width of a column in interactive report

    Hi,
    I have a column named 'Comment'. Its have a huge data due to which the lenght of that column in interactive report get increased. I need to fix the length to a desired value.
    I used following code in Region Footer:
    <style>
    table.apexir_WORKSHEET_DATA td[headers=COMMENTS] {
      _width: 300px;
      min-width: 50px;
      max-width: 300px }
    </style>
    Its solved the problem by fixing the width of the column but the column is not showing the full data now. It is hiding most of its part to fit it in that column.
    Please give some idea.
    Thanks,
    Chandru

    Hi,
    I believe you will want to add a height specification to allow for multiple lines.  And you may want/need to specifiy how you want lines to wrap.
    Add (for example):
      height: 60px;
      white-space: nowrap;
      word-wrap: break-word;
    There are defaults and several options for white-space and word-wrap.  You may want to look them up and give them a try for comparison.

  • How to create a fixed-width column within an APEX 4 interactive report?

    This thread is a follow-up to {message:id=9191195}. Thanks fac586.
    Partial success: The following code provided by fac586 limits the column width of the Apex 4 interactive report column as long as the column data contains whitespace within a Firefox 3.6 browser:
    <pre class="jive-pre">
    <style type="text/css">
    th#T_DESCRIPTION {
    width: 300px;
    td[headers="T_DESCRIPTION"] {
    width: 300px;
    word-wrap: break-word;
    </style>
    </pre>
    Notes:
    1. The code above is put into the HTML header section for the page.
    2. T_DESCRIPTION is defined as VARCHAR2(2000).
    3. The code above works within the Firefox 3.6.12 browser but does not work within the Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 browser.
    I tried adding "float: left;":
    <pre class="jive-pre">
    <style type="text/css">
    th#T_DESCRIPTION {
    width: 300px;
    td[headers="T_DESCRIPTION"] {
    width: 300px;
    word-wrap: break-word;
    <font color="red"> float: left;</font>
    </style>
    </pre>
    Notes:
    1. "float: left;" does not require whitespace and successfully splits the column between characters in lieu of whitespace.
    2. "float: left;" shrinks the cell height and allows the page background to show through... couldn't determine how to fix this.
    3. The code above works within the Firefox 3.6.12 browser but does not work within the Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 browser.
    I've done some more research, but I still haven't discovered how to create a fixed-width column within an APEX 4 interactive report that displays properly within an Internet Explorer 7 browser.
    Any ideas and help will be appreciated.

    Thanks for your help with this!

    <pre class="jive-pre">

    th#T_DESCRIPTION,
    td[headers="T_DESCRIPTION"] {
    width: 300px;

    Any idea what in the theme could be causing the fixed width column to be ignored in IE 7?

    I thought I would share this with the group. I found a way to be able to fix the headers in an interactive report. Maybe there is a better solution out there but I could not find one. • Sharepoint 2013 SSRS Interaction with Sql Server 2012 Reporting Services connecting to Sql Server 2008 R2 database

    Hi
    I'm working on upgrading sharepoint 2010 to sharepoint 2013 with sql server 2008 r2. I've ran into some problems but have been able to get a test farm upgraded. However to run SSRS 2013 it seems Sql Server 2012 Reporting Services are required. Upgrading
    to a full sql server 2012 database isn't an option. I know that sql server 2012 reporting services can use sql server 2008 r2 as a catalog and content database so I was wondering could this be a workaround? Importantly would I need a separate machine/virtual
    machine to host sql server 2012 reporting services? or could it live on the sql server 2008 r2 machine? Any pointers appreciated. Thanks Dan

    Remember that SSRS must be deployed on the SharePoint server. Having said that, yes you can install SSRS 2012 SP1 on a server running SQL 2008 R2. And yes, you can use 2008 R2 as your Database Engine server while SSRS 2012 SP1 runs on the SharePoint server.

  • Interactive Report - download to PDF, fixed column widths-- why

    We are using 4.1.1.00.23, we have just installed the Apache/FOP solution to download our Interactive Reports to PDF.
    The issue is that it seems that no matter what we do the column widths become evenly distributed in the downloaded report. When the report only has 5-8 columns this is ok, doesn't look as good as we would like but it is ok. The problem comes when we have many columns, then all of the columns get shrunk down to these little columns that become totally useless.
    Also, it appears that no matter what page size I define in the Page Attributes it sizes the columns to fit on an standard page (8.5x11).
    The question I guess is: Is there a way to download an Interactive Report to PDF, that looks exactly like the report that is displayed for the Interactive Report?
    We have been looking at lots of the documentation and fear we are missing something because it appears that most solutions talk about creating a "Shared Component" Report Query and Report Layout, which when you have a hundred interactive reports seems crazy....why can't we just download what we see on the screen.
    If there was a way to put Headers/Footers on HTML download, then we would not need to do this, but I have not found a way to do that either.

    From our understanding, it looks like we would have to create another report for each of our existing Interactive Reports, which would be a JasperReport or something.
    We know there is something with the XSL-FO templates, is that what iReports can do for us? Really this is a new world for me, so I do fear that I might be asking my question wrong.
    Like I said maybe we are missing something. We were able to get the FOP to work, but the problem with that is all of the columns are evenly distributed widths. On some reports, which have many columns, there could be a name column that needs to display 50 characters, but then the next field only has 5 characters. It appears that without creating an additional report or report layout for each report we cannot print the results of the interactive report.
    Maybe I am completely missing something in all of this, but I find it hard to believe that we have to create multiple versions of a report just to be able to print it. If we had just wanted to create a static report, then I would have continued using Oracle Reports, like we have for the last 20yrs.
