Fix Interactive Report head when scrolling

Hi all,
I have an interactive Report with over 300 Data. When I scroll to the bottom, the head is not directly reachable. (Just when you scroll up)
Is there a simple possibility to freeze the table head?
Thanks for helping me.

Not an easy process, but a few examples exist that will help you along the way

  • Fixed the report header.

    Hi expert,
    we can fix the column by using "set left scroll-boundary column". But how about if we need to fix our report's row like header?
    pls advise.
    thanks.

    Syntax
    TOP-OF-PAGE [DURING LINE-SELECTION].
    Addition:
    ... DURING LINE-SELECTION
    Effect
    This statement defines an event block whose event is triggered by the ABAP runtime environment during the creation of a list. This occurs when a new page is started - that is, immediately before the first line in a new page is to be output. All list outputs that take place in the event block are placed below the standard page header of the list. You cannot output more lines than are available in the page within the event block. The NEW-PAGE statement is ignored within this event block.
    The entire output written to the list in the event block belongs to the page header of the current list page. The top page header cannot be moved when you scroll vertically in a list displayed on the screen.
    For each TOP-OF-PAGE event, the placeholders "&1" - "&9" are replaced with the contents of system fields sy-tvar0 - sy-tvar9 in the standard heading and the column headings of the standard page header during creation of a basic list. You can assign values to these system fields in the program.
    Addition
    ... DURING LINE-SELECTION
    Effect
    If you do not use an addition, an event block is triggered for event TOP-OF-PAGE during the creation of a basic list. If you use the addition DURING LINE-SELECTION, an event block is triggered for the corresponding events during the creation of details lists. You have to use system fields like sy-lsind to distinguish between the individual details lists.

  • Interactive report error when filter

    Hi,
    I'm new to Apex and get the following error when I create an interactive report:
    "Invalid set of rows requested, the source data of the report has been modified.
    reset pagination"
    This error occurs when I scroll through the pages of the report and get to say the third page of data. I then apply a filter to restrict the data returned to less than a page worth of data, click "Go" and get the error.
    I've searched the forum and understand that this is occurring as Apex is still trying to display 3 pages of data when there is only one page worth of data and I know that I somehow need to reset the pagination, but I cannot find a way to do this. I have tried creating a process to reset the pagination, but this does not seem to fire when the "Go" button is clicked on the interactive report search bar.
    I have tried to reproduce this in my online Apex workspace, but it works fine there. I think this is probably down to using version 4.0 online, but my company is still on version 3.1.0.00.32.
    Is this a bug in the version of Apex that I'm using or is there a way that I can reset the pagination on an interactive report (when the "go" button is clicked)?
    thanks
    Adrian

    The best thing is to run the page with debug and see if the reset pagination is firing or not. Its been a long time since I used 3.1.x but I think reset pagination 3.1 works.
    Maybe something to do with the condition on the reset pagination that prevents it from running? Make reset pagination 'unconditional' and see the result.

  • Reset interact report settings when deleting a filter

    If I filter an interactive report and still have many values.. I click show all rows..
    I have 100 or so rows on the page.. then if I delete the filter. the report and my browser lock up while the entire database table is pulled, couple minutes..
    is there a way to have the all rows reset back to the default number per page when the filter is removed..

    You could try delete the cache in recovery. That fixes a multitude of problems.

  • Missing report header when exporting to Excel

    When exporting to Excel from an ASP.NET application (Visual Studio 2003), some reports do not include the report header section.  The reports headers are there when exporting to PDF.
    I cannot see any obvious difference between the reports that export the report header and those that do not.  I believe that I have the latest service pack.

    I am using Microsoft Development Environment 2003 Version 7.1.6030.  The About Box only says Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET.  It does not show a version number.
    I have not been able to find any information regarding ExportHeaderAndFooter or even ExportHeader.  They do not appear to be options in this version of Crystal.
    I have tried reducing the report header to a simple text object that works OK on another report but it will still not export on this one.  The report footer does export OK though.

    Hi,
    For developing purposes, I often copy an entire application and start working with a new version of the application on the same database. Now, I noticed that after copying an application, all the saved interactive reports were gone. The report itself still works fine, but the tab bar with saved reports is no longer there.
    Is this correct?

    Hello,
    I believe that's correct yes (it's linked to the user).
    You want the saved reports are also copied in your new application?

  • Keeping the heading when scrolling down the page

    In Excell it is possible to keep the column heading row separate so that when you scroll down through pages of numbers the headings are still visible at the top of the rows. Is it possible to do this in Numbers?
    Thanks

    Go to the "inspector"-click on the "table" icon-then "headers and footers" where you can set the number of headers or footers you want and click/unclick "freeze". You can also do that directly from the button bar on the "header-footer" buttons

  • APEX4.0.2 - Interactive Report : Setting headers like master data on downlo

    Hi,
    I'm using Apex 4.0.2 and have an Interactive report. When the user selects Action->Download option, I want to set header data (master data) above the rows.
    Imagine it to be like a bank statement, where the name and account number come on the top of the page and the rows of transactions below.
    I'm not sure how I can do this, please help me out with pointers
    Thanks for the help.
    -Hozy

    Hi,
    I can only assume you are talking about freezing the header rows, so that when you scroll down the header remains in the same place? I am pretty certain this is not possible with the download option on interactive reports.
    You may like to look into this plugin that anton made : http://apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/process-type-plugin/ir-report-to-excel-xlsx_74.html
    There is one downside - if you filter down the results in the IR, and click download - it still returns all records and not the filtered records. At least that was the case last time I tried it out.
    But anyway, its easy enough to freeze the header pane yourself after the report has downloaded - maybe that's an option i.e. train users how to do that.

  • Interactive report - order column by other column values

    Hi Oracle experts,
    could you please advise how to order column A by values of column B in Interactive report ?
    When clicking on header of "Countries" column in order to sort it acs/desc I would like to order it by values of column "Sort_order" which stores values from 1 to 100.
    The goal is to order "Countries" not alphabetically, but according to values of "Sort_order" column.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by providing as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
    <li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used
    <li>Theme
    <li>Template(s)
    <li>Region/item type(s) (making particular distinction as to whether a "report" is a standard report, an interactive report, or in fact an "updateable report" (i.e. a tabular form)
    With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.

    Any ideas?I'm not an expert on Interactive Reports, so there may be a less brute force method using the built-in features, but here's an approach that's worked in the past.
    Modify the query to generate the column as:
    '<!-- '|| to_char(sort_order, '009') || ' -->' || countryi.e. prefix the country name with an HTML comment containing the required ordinal number. This won't be visible in the report, but will be considered when sorting in SQL.
    In the IR Column Attributes set the column's Display Text As property to Standard Report Column so APEX won't escape the HTML tags.
    This method has side effects: some IR filters won't work; aggregate calculations can't be applied to the column; and report exports contain the HTML rather than the expected value.

    From APEX 4.2 IR columns have support for HTML Expressions, so Re: Report formatting/sorting issue using a hidden column and HTML Expression should be used, as it's purely declarative and provides better separation of concerns. (Still a problem on report exports though. Whilst the sort column can be suppressed using a condition, the hidden column can't be "unhidden" to replace it.)

  • How to Suppress Report Total When Using Sum on Columns & Break Formatting

    I need to know how to NOT show the report total line when using the sum functionality with a break in a report.
    I am summing two columns, a debit amount and credit amount. I am breaking on the first column which is the level of a hierarchical query. I want to see something like this:
    Parent Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Parent Sum $$ $$
    Child Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Child Record xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Child Sum $$ $$
    However, when I run the report, I also get a report total line under the child sum which is really meaningless for this report.
    I have also tried creating this report as an interactive report. When applying the sum on the two columns, I do get the sum totals on the break only - no report total - however, it is reversing the order of the hierarchical query results putting the child records first and the parent records second.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi, and welcome!
    I don't think that there's an easy way to "switch off" the Total line on a report. The nearest I could suggest would be to either hide the entire row or colour the text so that it's the same as the background - either way, the total is calculated but the user won't see it.
    If you put something like the following into your report region's Region Footer:
    &lt;script type="text/javascript"&gt;
    var outertable = document.getElementById("#REGION_ID#");
    var innertable = outertable.getElementsByTagName("TABLE")[1];
    var rs = innertable.rows;
    var lastrow = rs[rs.length-1];
    if (lastrow.cells[0].innerHTML == '&lt;b&gt;TOTAL&lt;/b&gt;')
    rs[rs.length - 1].style.display = "none";
    &lt;/script&gt;Then, on your report's Report Attributes page, scroll down to the Break Formatting section and put TOTAL into the "Display this text when printing report sums" setting. Also, in the "Layout and Pagination" section, set "Enable Partial Page Refresh" to No.
    The above code is based on the report and region templates that I'm using here: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:147] (Theme 18, "Report Region" region template and "Standard" report template). Your report may use different templates, so the first two lines on the code may have to change. #REGION_ID# would be replaced with the region's ID value (which would be "R" followed by a long number). As long as you can identify the HTML tag that uses this ID value, you can then get to the actual table that contains the data as it would be a TABLE within that tag - the [1] above is the second table within the region. In some instances, you may have to use "region_#REGION_ID#" as the starting point.

  • Public / Sharing of Interactive Reports

    The new Interactive Reports are a great feature that will be extremely helpful for both our development team and our users. However, currently when a user saves an interactive report, there's no way to share it with other users or to make it a public report that can be viewed by everyone. This is because the report is saved with the user's name and can only be viewed by that particular user. This really limits the usefulness of the interactive reports. For example, we would like to enable our power users, administrative users, and even regular end users to be able to create and modify reports and share them with others. In addition, our company has several hundred Crystal reports that we would like to replace with interactive reports. However, if our development team creates all of these as interactive reports (using the “Save Report” feature, not as separate pages), there is no way to make them public so that all of our users can then access them. I've read several requests in this forum for this type of enhancement. I've also read that the apex team intends to implement this sharing feature soon. In the meantime, I've figured out a work-around. This work-around saves and retrieves all interactive reports using a generic, fictitious user name. Using the Page Sentry Function under the Authentication Scheme, we switch the APP_USER to a generic, fictitious user only for the interactive report pages, and set APP_USER back to the original, correct user on the other pages. Here's the code I'm using in the Page Sentry function:
    declare
    c owa_cookie.cookie;
    begin
    if :app_page_id in (1,51,52) then
    APEX_CUSTOM_AUTH.SET_USER('REPORT_USER');
    else
    c := owa_cookie.get('LOGIN_USERNAME_COOKIE');
    APEX_CUSTOM_AUTH.SET_USER(c.vals(1));
    end if;
    return true;
    end;
    This code will set the APP_USER to "REPORT_USER" on pages 1, 51, and 52. Therefore, when interactive reports are saved or retrieved on these pages, they will use the user named "REPORT_USER" regardless of the user that actually logged into the application. This concept can also be expanded to limit certain reports to certain users (or groups of users) by calling a custom function in the database.
    I tried using the SET_USER code within a page process (PL/SQL anonymous block), and although it changed the APP_USER, it did not affect the interactive report. I assume this is because the interactive report “does its thing” prior to the firing of the processes on a page. However, the Page Sentry function apparently fires earlier in the sequence (before the interactive report processing).
    This will make the interactive reports much more useful for our company and I hope it will be useful to some of you as well.
    Darrin

    Scott-
    Thanks for the feedback. I tried both the Session Verification Function and the VPD attribute and neither one accomplished the goal. The VPD attribute PL/SQL code apparently fires too late in the process, so although it changed the APP_USER, it had no affect on the interactive report. And the Session Verification Function had adverse affects on the authentication. So rather than mess around with the security settings in the application, I came up with a different work-around.
    Here's the new work-around.
    On the interactive report page I created a page process (PL/SQL anonymous block) and set the process point to "On Load - Before Header". For the process I entered the following pl/sql code:
    begin
    update FLOWS_030100.WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_RPTS
    set APPLICATION_USER = :APP_USER
    where ID = :REPORTID
    and session_id is null;
    end;
    This code changes the application user in the underlying interactive report table. It sets the user to the current APP_USER only for the report being viewed. Therefore, when the interactive report processing happens, it thinks the report is for the current APP_USER and renders the report just fine. It also saves any changes to the report back to the base report so other users can view the modifications as well.
    I have the tab feature turned off on my interactive reports. Instead I have another page that lists all the interactive reports. When a user clicks one of the reports in the list, I set the REPORTID variable and pull up the corresponding interactive report (that's why I'm using REPORTID in the where clause). For users that are using a tabbed approach, they may have to set the application user for all of the base reports (or figure out another way to determine which individual report tab is being viewed). If they were setting it for all the base reports, it would look like this:
    begin
    update FLOWS_030100.WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_RPTS
    set APPLICATION_USER = :APP_USER
    where session_id is null;
    end;
    This solution isn't ideal when lots of users are hitting the same interactive report. It's possible that if two user attempt to load the same interactive report at the same time, the following might happen.
    1. User A triggers process to update underlying table
    2. User B triggers process to update underlying table
    3. User A triggers process to run interactive report (and therefore does not see the report because the report is now set to User B)
    4. User B triggers process to run interactive report (and sees report just fine)
    So the solution isn't ideal, but it's the best I could come up with until the apex team implements real report sharing. I've tested it with a handful of users and it's worked very well so far.
