90 days to receive credit from Verizon

My wife and I just transferred our verizon account from my name to hers, to get the discount that her company gets for verizon usage since I just got laid off from my company, who also had discount.  The credit for the amount paid on the old account for the used days was not credited towards the new account but a credit check will be issued from verizon.  After receiving two statements without a check from Verizon, I was told from the customer service representative that I need to wait for the next statement and call in again to request a check per Verizon's procedure.  This is totally unfair, as we have been paying our bills monthly, without any late payments for how many years and when it comes for verizon to pay us back we have to wait 90 days.  If we waited 90 days for us to give them a bill, we would have our services terminated.  This procedure needs to be changed as it is not a customer friendly rule that will make people change cellular services to other companies.  We need our money back, especially after being laid-off.

It takes 90 days before you get your money back because the FCC gives wireless companies up to 90 days to report usage. So, say the last month you had your account you used 800 min on a 900 min plan. Now, 30 days later, another company reports that you used 100 mins on their various towers during that last month. Now you're at 900 mins. Then another 15 days later, another 15 minutes are reported from another company's towers. Now you're technically over by 15 minutes. With an overage rate of .40/min you'd be charged 6.00. If they had already credited you back, you would now be recieving a bill for 6.00. let's face it, the odds that someone would make that payment are slim to nil. (What I gave is just one scenario. There are also thing like global roaming, text messaging, etc that can take longer to report.) Basically the FCC is the reason it takes 90 days to get your credit back.

  • Received emails from Verizon - Pictures do not show correctly and strange characters appear in text

When I receive emails from Verizon users, embedded images do not display inline.  Each image(s) instead is displayed as a empty box with the red X boxed at the upper left.  The images are correctly displayed at the very end of the email.
Additionally, dotted capital A's appears frequently within the text as well as other extraneous characters and symbols.
Do I have an incorrect setting in Live Mail (Outlook express displays the same) or is it something Verizon is doing?  All of my other emails from different providers display properly.
Thanks in advance for any assistance which might be offered.

I have the same problem rec eiving from a friend who uses verizon. I use aol and even opened it in Internet Exporer and the same thing happened. This is a programing glitch with verizon email. I get the text in the email but the white squares with an x and no image. I have to downlod the images and open it as an attachment. The problem is you look at the image without the text which might be describing the image. Very inconvient. The person sending the emal has to enable the rich text option . I am still looking on how to do it on Verizon email but since I don't have it I am having trouble finding a solution.

  • Iphone stopped receiving emails from verizon; error message wrongly says username and PW incorrect

Yesterday (10/21/13) my iphone 3 stopped receiving emails from my verizon account and error message says "the user name or password for verizon in incorrect," even though I know the user name and password are correct and I am receiving emails from verizon on my ipad and I mac. In addition, after I "reset." the phone by pressing the "home" and "off" buttons together until the apple logo appeared, I lost all of the emails that were on the iphone's mailboxes. What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Here is the solution given to me by a very helpful Verizon phone agent.  Go to your Verizon mail account under settings.  Under Incoming Mail server, change host name to pop.verizon.net.
Under Outgoing Mail Server, change host name to smtp.verizon.net.
Make sure Use SSL is on for Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers.
She said the above is the solution that has worked for most people who are having trouble receiving and or sending Verizon emails from their Iphones since Monday October 21.  She said that if this solution did not work, it is then an Apple problem and I would then need to go to Apple's email client support for troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages (for MAC in my case).  After writing down all of the passwords and configurations for verizon email currently on my phone, including the new host names above, I ended up deactiving my verizon email account and then reimputing all of the passwords, configurations, ... .  It worked!  My verizon email was back and running.

  • Have a 5S w/ Sprint, can't receive texts from verizon non-iphones!

Ported a # as of 10/2 from Tmobile to the iphone 5s I received from Sprint.
Since then I can't receive texts from verizon non-iphones! They
can see my texts. Googling this, it seems like there's been issues
like this for other people. Can anyone advise as this is very bad!

SMS and MMS are carrier features. There is nothing you can do on your phone to fix this. It's either a problem with Sprint, Verizon, or T-Mobile. You've reported the problem to Sprint, that's all you can do. About the only other thing that could be done would be to have somone you know on Verizon who can't send messages to you open a ticket with Verizon.

  • Cannot receive SMS from Verizon?!!

A little history, I was a Verizon customer until 11/2007 when I switched to the iPhone and to AT&T. My number was ported from Verizon to ATT and the iPhone worked just fine. I could get and send text messages to/from Verizon customers up until October 2008, when it just quit working. I could send SMS to Verizon customers, but I am not receiving them for some reason.
I've called ATT and spent hours on the phone with no solution, they are saying that this is the first they have heard about it and that it must be Verizon's problem. Called Verizon and they wont open a trouble ticket because I am not a customer, but said that everything was ported correctly from my old account and that it is ATT's problem... help.. lol.

I spoke to the AT&T reps the evening of 3/23. I was told that there was indeed a problem with texting FROM Verizon To the 3g. My family is on Verizon and they text some of their girlfriends who are on AT&T but do not have iPhone 3gs and they go back and forth just fine. It is only my 3g that will not receive texts from Verizon although I can send to Verizon just fine. The AT&T representative gave me two case numbers for the several calls she has received just that evening.

  • Letter of Credit from Verizon?

I am moving into a new apartment and getting heat and hot water from the gas company. The gas company charges a large deposit for new customers who don't have an established history with them to ensure payments are made on time. They said they'd waive this charge if I could provide a "Letter of Credit" from one of my previous utility providers indicating that I have not missed payments while in a contract with them. My cell provider, Verizon, is the only one where the account has been in my name and the gas co. said they'd accept it and that these letters from Verizon are common. However, I can't find anywhere how to request such a letter from Verizon and calling customer support I feel is useless - lines are busy for ever. Is anyone else familiar with this document and know how to request one?
    Thanks!

        ewirkkala,
Congrats on the new apartment! We want to make sure you are able to have access to payment history. You can view your payment history online via your My Verizon. http://vz.to/VUjzfj (number 11).

  • Received this from verizon "Important Privacy Notice: Customer Proprietary Network Information "

got this e mailes to me today from verizon:    Important Privacy Notice: Customer Proprietary Network Information
any of u get this also?

Thanks Calmitdown42, for the information, as what you posted is correct. I would like to add to that and provide some additional information for Adamant.
CPNI (Customer Proprietary Network Information) is information about the quantity, technical configuration, type, destination, location, and amount of use of telecommunications services a customer has purchased from Verizon Wireless and its affiliates, including local and toll information on bills.
    Examples include:
Number of voice and data lines activated
    Type of calling plans selected
    Discount tiers
    ARPU (Average Revenue Per User)
    Call detail information
Note: While your account number / mobile telephone number(s) are not classified as CPNI, this information is diligently protected in verbal, written, and electronic form. Please know that your account security is very important at Verizon Wireless. It has not, and will not, be provided to anyone if you do not opt out of the CPNI information.
I hope this information is helpful and have a good day!

  • Connection problem on Ipad3 and Iphone 4S after receiving assistance from verizon support

How do I fix this? I spoke to "expert tech" about how my Verizon email suddenly converted to Yahoo - which I didn't like. Unfortunately in his remedy to fix I lost my server connection to my IPad and Iphone in addition to all of previous read and unread emails, folders etc... Now I can't even use my Ipad to check emails. Can't seem to find a way to talk to a support person via "help" b/c cannot seem to access a support person. I'm not happy right now. In fact, I'm frustrated and extremely disappointed.. The support did not seem to really know anything and as a result I'm starting fresh after losing 3 years of data. I I did however, get back my Verizon email acct but at a huge cost. Now why did my connection fail on my other devices and how do I fix it? Please anyone please help!!!! I don't want to mess with the Ipad for fear of losing more info. This really sucks. I know there had to be a better solution.

First off Yahoo Mail has nothing to do with Verizon Email. However lets clarify something first. When you say verizon email are talking about an email account established through Verizon Fios, DSL ? Or are you referring to the email program that is native to the iPad and iPhone?
In the set up of your email accounts with the mail programs you go to settings, mail-contacts-calendar, then click add account, it then gives you options to set up your pop3 email or exchange email, or msn, aol, etc.
If you use Verizon.com for an email address you would click on pop email, then put in the information for that account.
normally its your email address ([email protected] or [email protected]) of which the proper settings are available from the Verizon Fios or DSL internet site. You enter the smtp server info you were given from verizon in the space provided, and you then enter the pop3 server information in the proper spot. You finish up by entering your email password in the setup settings and click save.
Setting up for yahoo, man, aol mail is much simplier since all it requires is your email address and password and the setup program for these web based email fills in the incoming and outgoing smtp server info for you.
Always remember to make sure the "remove from server" option is not checked since it then becomes device dependent where if you leave it on the server you can retrieve from any browser the emails without losing them.
    Good Luck

  • International Text not received (intermittent) from Verizon iphone 5 32G.

I can’t text some international (Irish) numbers from my Verizon iphone 5 32G. The number format is correct. I receive message NP and my messages appear as sent (ie Green) but they are never received at the other end. Impacts 1 in 10 of my international contacts.

I'm sorry your messages are not being sent to all your international contacts RMD1999. If your message has a green check mark, your message was successful and transmitted over our network. If they did not receive it, the issue is on their end. The only time the issue will be with Verizon Wireless is the moment you receive a red x or an error message when trying to send a message. Make sure everyone you send to internationally, has their phone set up to have international messaging enabled.

  • Cannot receive email from Verizon in Thunderbird 31.5.0

Have successfully used Thunderbird with Verizon email for years.
Recently updated to Thunderbird 31.5.0. Now cannot receive any Verizon messages---but can successfully send messages.
Can receive Verizon messages on Android phone and with Verizon webmail client---Verizon account is functional.
After many attempts to debug (including 15 mins on line with Verizon tech support), deleted Verizon account in Thunderbird and created a new account. Still cannot receive messages....but can still send messages.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for any advice/help.
    Ed

I am really sorry if I have upset you by posting the same message twice. I only registered for the Forum this morning and this was my first message. I clicked Send before I received the email to confirm my address. I therefore assumed that the message had not gone.
I apologize for this and can assure you that I will not do it again.
If you are able could you give me some pointers as to what is happening. On looking at my Outbox it looks as though the message did go even though I got the error message.

  • How do I set up my Ipad to receive mail from Verizon?

I just bought an Ipad 2 with Verizon.  I cannot receive mail through the Ipad, only through Verizon.net.  How can I set it up to get my mail?

No. You made it sound like you were not able to do it and that is what I was asking, look here for help. This shows you the steps for Verizon email on the iPad.
    https://www22.verizon.com/ForYourHome/VZRepair/vziha/Service.aspx?ihaweb=EmailSe tup
If you set up like this it should be fine. Then all you have to do is launch the mail app in order to send and receive email.

  • My iphone 5 is only receiving calls from verizon and when at

I have an iphone 5 16G. Phone was working fine yesterday. Someone tried to FaceTime with me (wrong number so I declined then turned off the ringer) last night 10x --not sure if this has anything to do with the problem or not. Someone tried to call me today and sent me a text saying they got a fast busy signal. Later I got my daughter to call and phone worked just fine.Son called, phone worked. Then another friend called and got the busy signal. So I got my nephew who has at&t which is same as all other callers and he got a message saying call cannot be completed at this time. So it seems that only verizon can get through and not other networks.

Try a Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data.
If no joy, talk to your provider.

  • Weird text message from Verizon Wireless

I have been receiving the text message from 900080004000 three times a day.  It is from Verizon Wireless.  The tech at Verizon store tried to fix this problem by blocking all text messages from email and website.  It didn't work.  Does anyone know how to stop it?

  • I received a text from verizon saying i made a charge with a third party  vendor that would show up on by bill

I got a text from Verizon saying I made a charge with a third party vendor that will be on my verizon bill.  What the heck?????

Don't be surprised. I received this same notice but verizon has almost no way for a person to find the answer easily. Plus there are several charges on my bill that are on the web page that link to the contract. The links go no where! !
If they are going to charge something they need to find a way for people to know what is being charged.
An Iphone6 was upgraded on October 6 under the Edge program. The charge was added almost immediately and appeared on the October 12 billing cycle. The older phone was returned to them under the Verizon Edge plan and it was received by verizon on the 13th of October. That credit has still not been applied to our account. It took them a matter of minutes to charge us for the new IPhone 6 but so far they have not been able to apply the credit for the edge return after eight days. All the links to this transaction are dead and there are no records on the verizon billing site to back up the charges. The message today is the first 'hint' that there may be a charge coming but no mention of the credit.

  • How do I file a complaint about the service I received from Verizon and if I file a complaint, will anything really change?

I was considering changing service carriers for two of my children on our Verizon plan.  The plan was extremely expensive and my two high school aged children had very old slide phones (one wouldn't even receive calls anymore!)  I had another carrier that was much more reasonable for what they needed and they were both able to get smart phones for $100.  I called Verizon over the holidays to check if the phones were under contract.  The customer service representative asked what I was thinking about doing.  I was very honest and told my plan.  I was then told by the representative that the phones were not under contract.  I switched my children to the new carrier only to receive a $428 bill for early termination of contract!!!!
When I called back, I was told by the new representative that I did receive correct information.  Apparently, I did not ask the "correct" question.  The "correct" question would have been, "Are the LINES under contract? (not the phones!)  Now, I am trying to file a complaint and have no idea where to find the area for the complaint!  Please  help!

    AmberF
If I port back, I have to take away the two smartphones that I gave my high school children for Christmas.  (Sorry kids, Mom is sending back your Christmas gifts because Verizon did not give me the correct information regarding our plan!  You get to go back to your 6 year old slide phone, which doesn't receive calls, and your 3 year old slide phone, that doesn't make calls!)  Also, if I port back, the best that you can give me is $30/month on these phones unless I purchase new phones from you!
I have decided to write Verizon a letter of complaint.  I am willing to concede that maybe I did not use proper terminology when requesting information regarding my plan.  I did, however, inform the customer service representative of what I was trying to accomplish and she should have been more upfront with me. I am looking for some type of compromise from Verizon.   I just received my Verizon bill and it is $817.58!!!!   While this will create a very difficult month for my family financially, I am going to pay the bill in the hopes that Verizon will issue me some type of credit for their part in this debacle!
If I do not receive some type of compromise from Verizon, I now know when the contracts for all my other lines (5 at home and 5 for our business) will no longer be under contract.  If Verizon cares so little about their customers that they refuse to admit that they might be somewhat at fault, they will no longer have my business.  I will regret this decision, because except for a few minor problems, Verizon has usually been easy to work with.  I consider this a major issue.  I was trying to be prudent and check the terms of my contract before I made any changes and I don't feel Verizon was honest with their answers.
AmberF, if you can make some sort of financial compromise happen, I will be very happy to thank you!  As I stated,  $817.58 Verizon bill is going to make February and potentially March very difficult months for my family.
