A bunch of issues!

Hello, I bought my MBP 13" in October of last year (2009) and have been having issues with it from day 1, but have for some reason or another neglected to bring it in for servicing.
I'm about to run out of warranty, so I want to get these issues looked at asap, and I figured the best place to start is here.
If anyone can tell me if I have a hardware problem, that could create all of these issues, I'd be grateful, as it seems too much of a coincidence that all of these things would be wrong at the same time.
1. Heat. The computer gets so hot, that it's hot to touch. I have noticed a burning smell on occasion.
2. Sometimes it won't go to sleep when the lid is closed, which can be particularly dangerous to put into a laptop bag and zip up. This is very troublesome, because I am very mobile, and can't spare the time to wait to see if my system is in sleep mode every time I have to move.
3. The display will occasionally flicker with horizontal lines through it. When this happens, I notice clicking sounds, and the system freezes at the same time. Sometimes it recovers, sometimes I have to restart by holding the power button.
4. Possibly the most frustrating thing, is that the wireless internet drops out. It will just stop sending and receiving data, and I have to restart to get it working again. Sometimes even after a restart it wont work, and sometimes it fixes itself without a restart.
I have installed all of the latest firmware and software.
Also have tried factory reinstalls.

I booked an appointment for tomorrow at my local Apple store (where I bought it from)
Unfortunately, these are not issues that have recently developed, but rather have been present since I first got the computer. I WISH I had taken it back within the first 30 days (I'm assuming there's some sort of replacement warranty withing 30 or 60 days?).. anyways, I was to busy/lazy to take it back..
The good news is, the problems have not really gotten worse, so I don't think it's going to, after almost a year. It's just a very annoying and sometimes costly (time-wise) irritation. I can't really afford the extended Apple Care. I think there has to be some hardware issues, so I'm really hoping Apple will fix it for me, since it's still inside the warranty period.
The fan is definitely working, or spinning at least. As it heats up it gets LOUD!
It does get so hot that I think it would burn my skin, and could even be a fire hazard. I shut it all the way down at night just in case.
I have checked the activity monitor, as you say. I've spent a lot of time troubleshooting, updating software and firmware, and even reinstalled to factory settings a few times.
I bought a new hard drive because of the clicking, because that's the first thing I figured was wrong (and Apple were going to charge me for a phone call, so I figured I'd at least replace the Hdd before I spent money on service). This was before I realized I could make an appointment at the store for free.

    #1. There is no padlock icon on the home screen. How do i fix this? I have restored the device to its original state and still no padlock icon.

    I then tried to schedule several texts and nothing happened. (The recipients claimed to not receiving anything) I then tried testing the software to see if I was doing anything wrong and still nothing happened.
    Since I have updated my phone to Version 3.34 my phone has slowed down and battery life is horrible. The scheduling portion still does not work and the phone always seems busy (the busy signal little black clock seems to appear when ever I try and access anything on the phone)
    I then uninstalled the app from my device and battery life returned to normal and no more system busy icon.
    All of the above happened on or before March 22, except for the padlock icon issue which i first noticed today.
    I reistalled 'CrunchSMS' today version 3.37 and the same thing happened. At 9:00p.m. I had 40% battery life and by 10:30p.m. I had 5%. I emailed the tech support at CrunchSMS and have never heard back from them. The original email to them was sent on March 22. Can anyone help me with either of these issues.

  • 10.6.4 Mail Issues - anyone experiencing a bunch of issues today?

    I have been battling with Mail all morning. Ever since I updated to 10.6.4 Mail has been FUBAR. Here are the issues:
    1. Error message stating to contact the makers of Herald for updating their plug-in to the new Mail (no problem, I can turn that off)
    2. Mail Window does not come up at all. I have to go to Window >> Message Viewer. This leads to number three....
    3. A whole new set of columns in the Mail viewing section is available that I do not need and cannot turn off (Date Viewed, Date Sent, Mailbox, etc.)
    4. When new mail comes in I cannot view the message
    5. Is not syncing with Exchange 2007
    6. In order to quit mail, I have to Force Quit
    Every time I relaunch Mail I have a new issue. I started this thread after the 6th relaunch.

    I have had the same problem on all my portable Macs - MacBook Pro, Air; but not my desktop i7.
    If I "disable" all the mail accounts except one, it works ok. My Exchange account alone (I really need this for work) works fine. But when I turn on an iMap account, suddenly the Mail app starts using nearly all the memory and 130% of processors (dual core).
    I called tech support and they suggested deleting prefs files, etc., which I did, and it seemed ok for a while, but then it went back to the same behavior.

  • I've had a bunch of issues with my iPhone 4 since the iOS 7 update

    My iMessage doesn't work at all.  Whenever I send iMessages they don't load nor do they automatically convert to text messages like they used to whenever the iMessage didnt work. 
    Next, I used to be able to highlight and define a word I typed in a text, a tweet, or an email etc. and now whenever I highlight and select define for a word it always says no definition found.  I used to love that feature. 
    Finally, I find that some websites take longer to load now than they did before.
    What to do, what to do?  Im starting to regret updating to iOS 7.

  • My Mac will not let me install any software I download. In some cases (Like quicktime) i get a message that says "Can't create the folder" I have it with adobe air and its creating all sorts of issues. My software is up to date and I have 10.8.2.

    A whole bunch of issues here.
    I can't install any software. It started when iPlayer stopped working at all.  This led me to try to update software versions such as Adobe Air to 3.5 (Failed) then quicktime player 7.6.6 as recommended (Failed) then the printer packed up and I have tried to install the downloaded software drivers for Canon from the Apple site (Failed again) 
    In all cases they let me download so I have the file, but not install.
    Quicktime tells me it can't install a file "/var/folders/15....then a long string of numbers....ending in T//install.1347YKihUc".
    The Canon Print Driver has a very similar message.
    Adobe Air says "An error occurred whilst installing....contact my administrator" which is me and I am fine with it ;-)
    Remember this all started because my iPlayer (and my printer) just stopped working and I have been trying to fix those.
    I am a bit techy but not much.
    Can anyone assist?

    I have Firefox 3.6.6, and now that Firefox 4.0 is available, it crashes constantly. Sometimes less than 5 minutes after I open it. I have a Mac 10.4.11, so Firefox 4.0 isn't an option for me. When I asked Ff to check my plug-ins it said there was an error and to check back later. Twice.
    Because I didn't have any (any) problems with my Ff before the upgrade became available, I am forced to question if Ff has done something to make the earlier version crash so you'll upgrade, but I can't afford to upgrade my Mac right now.
    In the meantime, I do need a browser that works! I dislike Safari, Chrome is also not available on Mac 10.4.11, and Explorer is just plain not available on Mac.
    Do you have any suggestions on how to fix my Firefox 3.6.6?

    This driver fixes most known issues.   Note that there are still several monitors with known persistence issues (e.g. what the monitor does after a sleep/resume cycle).   The plan is to address these in the next driver release.

    i updated the video drive and was really excited when i hooked up my DP to DP and the monitor worked.  Soon after though,  a bunch of issues arised:
    1) When the monitor went to sleep it shut of the tablet as well.
    2) My CPU is now running high (50%-60%) and my cursor has a constant blue circle spinning around
    3) The fan is constantly running,  not high but on.  It did not do this prior to the driver update
    The Venue is working in the sense that i am running an HDMI to HDMI monitor off the dock and my application seem to run at the same speed.
    Tech support downgraded me back to A02 but the problem still persists.  We are now going to reimage.
    I am not super technical, but i almost feel like the A03 driver changed a setting or two in the system which is causing the issues.

  • I have a time capsule that has worked flawlessly for several years.  I recently upgraded my iMac OS to 10.8.4 and coincidently (or not) have started having some issues with backups.  When I go into time machine, it struggles to find the time capsule disk

    I have to unplug my time capsule and reboot it.  Is there a diagnostic routine I can run or any error detection I can look for?

    You are absolutely right.. when apple changed significant features in Lion and Mountain Lion .. they introduced a bunch of issues into networking which are bugs to this day..unacknowledged.. and without much that will fix them.. other than your reboot strategy.. which is like.. well that other OS.. where continual reboots are considered normal.
    Old TC may also just suffer from age.. we continually tell people they have a lifespan.. 3years is the reliable span.. after that expect anything.. sudden death.. slow decline.. continual hassles and problems. If the backups are important to you.. then it is telling you in a very clear way.. replace me.. I am no longer happily providing services promised.
    Now to specifics.. we don't know what the problem is.. if we knew we could give some work around.
    The problem is odd in that it doesn't affect everyone.. if it starts .. people find it starts several months in to ownership.. it is never cured.. or even curable.. something like DNS or ARP table is being lost.. but it is not either of those things.
    Is there a diagnostic routine I can run or any error detection I can look for?
    Nothing much shows up anywhere. Including the TC log or local logs. It simply has lost the TC disk but not internet.
    So.
    Some things do help.
    I don't know if you have pondini's resources.. TM is a complex piece of software.. it has multiple issues.

    Look at A1 .. load the widget.
    A5 .. verify the backup.
    A4 .. reset TM.
    All of those things can help.. look at some of the typical problems.. C12 and C17 being the most common since Lion.. and exacerbated in Mountain Lion.. not fixed.
    Some suggestions.
    1. Keep names short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. See C9 http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
    2. Do not use 7.6.3 firmware... go back to 7.6.1 or even better 7.5.2 on an old one.
    Firmware downgrade is easy in new utility. Hold down the option key whilst selecting version.
    3. I recommend a very short dhcp lease time.. 20min for example. In whatever device is the router .. that can help keep things up to date.. and use dhcp reservation again to see if the address info helps to keep things updated.
    4. Do turn on ipv6 local link.. which you need to anyway with 6.3 utility.

    5. If you are using a desktop.. an external drive is faster.. more reliable and easier than TC for Time Machine backups..
    6. Consider using CCC or another backup software.. if you want to continue to use network drive.
    7. Although using 6.3 airport utility has some advantages.. it is also devoid of a lot of tools that are in v5.6 airport utility.. well worth loading into at least one computer on the network.. if you only have Mountain Lion now here is one method.
    How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.

    Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    Leave the package open on the desktop so you can see the file. AirportUtility56.pkg
    2. Download and install unpkg.

    Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
    Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
    You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.

  • Illustrator CS4, new Pantone color books, color channel issue

    Since I installed the new Pantone color books, I've been running in a major issue which will affect our whole production line.
    If an Illustrator CS4 file contains a Photoshop CS4 image which is using an "old" Pantone color in a color channel, it cannot be opened and I get an error message "File is unreadable". If I replace the "old" Pantone colour with its new equivalent in the color channel in Photoshop, the file can be opened normally.
    In our work environment, this means going through all our images to check which one is using a color channel. A painful and time wasting procedure. Furthermore, if one of our suppliers doesn't have the new color books, they won't be able to open any of the files, both Photoshop and Illustrator, so they have no way to revert back to the old Pantone.
    Is there another way to fix this?

    More on the Pantone PLUS saga, hoping to get some input from the users of this forum. I find their silence deafening, to say the least. This is a serious issue, that will cost our agency hours and hours of work if it isn't addressed. And we've already wasted hours of troubleshooting and discussions on how we could resolve it.
    We're actually testing a workaround: using both the old and the new libraries in Illustrator. After consulting our suppliers, we've learned that this is what they also do. For them, it's a one shot to get the file to print. For us, it means cheating with files that will get edited again in the future. And the Pantone installer removes the old Pantone books from the Adobe folders for a reason which is mentioned on the download page:
    The reason that the PANTONE Color Libraries that had been built into Illustrator need to be removed and replaced with the PANTONE PLUS Color Libraries is that, in Illustrator, a PANTONE Color can only have one data point with which it is associated. In the short term, in order to benefit from the new colors and data associated in PLUS, the PANTONE Libraries that are installed with Adobe Illustrator are removed and replaced with the new PLUS Libraries.

    What is the exact meaning of the Pantone warning about the "one data point per color?
    What are the long term implications of using both Pantone libraries in an Adobe file? Or in the Adobe app?

  • Snow Leopard Crash / Freezing Issue - Keyboard Dead - Hard Reboot Required

    Good morning,
    Been using Snow Leopard on a 24" 2.4Ghz iMac pretty much since the day of launch. Initially was very pleased, no real problems, seemed to run even smoother than regular Leopard, however, recently, my system has developed a bunch of issues, particularly when running word and/or transmission (possibly other apps, but I have noticed with these two so far).
    The main problem is, very randomly, the system will lock-up. This can be after 1 hour or 24 hours, there is no real correlation. After the lock up, you are able to use open apps, ie Transmission, Word, Safari, Finder, etc, but they do not function correctly...for example
    Word - You can click into documents, but any keyboard strokes are completely ignored.
    Safari - You can browse links on default start page, etc, but you cannot create new tabs or type anything into the address bar.
    Finder - You can browse folders; but you cannot perform any functions such as dragging to trash, etc.
    Also worth noting, it the main menu bar at the top of the screen continues to say either "Word" or "Transmission" etc, regardless of what application you are in. Clicking on any applications icons in the dock has no response unless they were already running.
    The system is unable to shut down or log off, and you cannot quit apps. The only option is to do a hard reset via holding down the power off button.
    Note: My system is set to never sleep. There is no screensaver.
    Any advice would be gratefully received. I'm a fairly new mac user so i'm not aware how to view log files etc., which may identify the problem.

    Just want to reiterate. I am seeing freeze issues with my iMac 2.8 GHZ 4GB ram and wireless keyboard and magic mouse. Had this for two years without problem. When a freeze occurs mouse is reponsive but clicks don't give result. I am unable to open window to force quit apps. It may be related to iTunes but I can't confirm. Happening again now, even as I type this I can't open other appslike console log. I add more later.

  • Camera RAW update issue with Bridge CS6

    Hi folks,
    I recently installed a routine update for Camera RAW 8.4 and now have a bunch of issues with Bridge including -
    - No previews or ratings showing
    - Ratings filter not working
    - Can't open images directly into Camera RAW without first opening Photoshop (ie - keyboard shortcut not working and File menu command "Open in Camera raw" not available)
    - Can't access or open Camera RAW preferences
    I've tried resetting Bridge to default settings but didn't help and ACR still works fine opening in PS. I've attached two screenshots to show the problem better.
    Anyone else having these problems? Any solutions?

    Hello. 
    I have 2 domain controllers, both of them on the same site DC1 & DC2. I have added a new site with a DC3. When I have added DC3 to the domain, I have realized, SYSVOL was not initialized correctly. I went back to DC1 and found out, there's following
    error in the event viewer:
    Error: 4012 on DC1
    The DFS Replication service stopped replication on the folder with the following local path: C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain. This server has been disconnected from other partners for 99 days, which is longer than the time allowed by the MaxOfflineTimeInDays parameter
    (60). DFS Replication considers the data in this folder to be stale, and this server will not replicate the folder until this error is corrected.
    Error: 2213 on DC2
    The DFS Replication service stopped replication on volume C:. This occurs when a DFSR JET database is not shut down cleanly and Auto Recovery is disabled. To resolve this issue, back up the files in the affected replicated folders, and then use the ResumeReplication
    WMI method to resume replication. 
    This indicates a DFS replication issue between DC1 & DC2 and probably this would be the reason, why the SYSVOL was not properly initialized on DC3. 
    How can I restore correct DFS replication between DC1 & DC2? I've read
    this article, but it's not clear to me, which of the 2 domain controllers has a good version of SYSVOL + I can not find a decent step-by-step article for reconnecting Windows 2012 domain controller.
    Any idea, how I can proceed further here?

    Here's a complete documentation with resolution of my issue. I have created this documentation for my own purposes in our WIKI, so I will paste it here (I hope, it will help somebody else in the future):
    The Problem
    We have bought a new server for our domain. This server (NEWDC01) was promoted to be a domain
    controller in the DOMAIN. After the promotion, I have added a single computer to the domain. When I have logged on the client to the domain, I realized, this computer is not using the new domain controller (NEWDC01)
    for authentication, but DC02 domain controller instead. This is not intended. Local clients should use local domain controllers for authentication (assuming, the Active directory sites & services are configured properly). Further investigation revealed,
    there are some replication errors on OLDDC01 & OLDDC02 servers. First I need to solve these replication errors. Then I can
    add the NEWDC01 server to domain properly.
    Analysis
    There are several errors related to DFSR replication on both domain controllers:
    Error: 4012 on OLDDC01
    The DFS Replication service stopped replication on the folder with the following local path: C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain.
    This server has been disconnected from other partners for 99 days, which is longer than the time allowed by the MaxOfflineTimeInDays parameter (60). DFS Replication considers the data in this folder to be stale, and this server will not replicate the folder
    until this error is corrected.
    Error: 2213 on OLDDC02
    The DFS Replication service stopped replication on volume C:. This occurs when a DFSR JET database
    is not shut down cleanly and Auto Recovery is disabled. To resolve this issue, back up the files in the affected replicated folders, and then use the ResumeReplication WMI method to resume replication.
    In order to have active directory in a healthy condition, one must ensure, there’s a successful
    replication between existing domain controllers up and running. If the replication does not work correctly, you can expect bunch of issues.
    group policies and logon scripts are not applied correctly, or as intended
    when you want to add a new domain controller to the domain, it will not work as expected (although, you will not see any specific errors after the
    server is promoted to be a domain controller)
    Active directory backup
    I have scheduled an AD backup on OLDDC01 server using the ‘Windows Backup’ solution to make sure,
    I can restore the AD / SYSVOL, in case something goes wrong. The backup is scheduled to be executed every day.
    Active directory restore
    In this particular case, I will talk only about SYSVOL restore. As indicated above, we must get
    rid of the DFSR event viewer errors which you can find in event viewer. One of them is indicating, that the JET database was not shut down cleanly and autorecovery was disabled. The other error indicates, the SYSVOL volume is no longer replicated. I am not
    sure, what is the reason, why the AD’s in the domain stopped to replicate. Probably it was an unclean server shutdown. The DFSR service stopped to replicate the SYSVOL share and I was not aware about that. When the replication did not run for more than ~99
    days, the SYSVOL share was excluded from the DFSR replications.
    Find out the most accurate SYSVOL share in the domain
    I have compared the content of the SYSVOL directories on both OLDDC01 and OLDDC02 servers: C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies.
    Both directories have 37 subdirectories. Each subdirectory corresponds to one group policy. This means, that the content is approximately the same, thus I can’t tell, which version is most recent. I do most of the GPO changes on OLDDC01, so I made a conclusion,
    that this server contains the most recent version of the SYSVOL share.
    There are 2 types of SYSVOL restores, you can do:
    Authoritative restore
    Non-authoritative restore
    Non-authoritative restore
    This is a more simple kind of a restore. You can perform this kind of restore, when you are sure,
    that one of the domain controllers is authoritative (e.g. you presume, the SYSVOL share is intact and working properly). If you can identify such a working server, you can perform non-authoritative restore of the active directory on a broken domain controller.
    Authoritative restore
    In this case, you can designate a specific domain controller to be authoritative. You set a special
    flag on this server, which will prohibit to overwrite it’s state from another domain controllers, when the replication is enabled on the server again. After you designate one server to be authoritative, you need to update all the another domain controllers
    using the non-authoritative procedure.

    In my case, I was not sure, which of the domain controllers had a more recent copy of AD, so I
    have decided to make OLDDC01 authoritative (check the link above). Once this has been done, I have made a non-authoritative update on OLDDC02 server.
    Everything was almost ready. The last step, I needed to execute was, I needed to fix the ‘JET’
    event viewer error on SRVBK1. In the event log entry on the bottom, you can find following:
    Recovery Steps
    1. Back up the files in all replicated folders on the volume. Failure to do
    so may result in data loss due to unexpected conflict resolution during the recovery of the replicated folders.
    2. To resume the replication for this volume, use the WMI method ResumeReplication
    of the DfsrVolumeConfig class. For example, from an elevated command prompt, type the following command:
    wmic /namespace:\\root\microsoftdfs path dfsrVolumeConfig
    where volumeGuid="D37A9FC3-8B1D-11E2-93E8-806E6F6E6963" call ResumeReplication

    Final words
    After I have executed this command, the replication was again started between OLDDC01 and OLDDC02
    servers. After I have started up the NEWDC01 server, I have realized, it has automatically replicated the contents of the SYSVOL share - almost immediately after the server was started up. I have again tried to login with the local client into DOMAIN domain
    and now I see, that local client is using local Domain controller for authentication.
    Everything seems to be OK now.

  • Licensing/Downloading issues with CS5.5?

    Anyone else purchase CS5.5 recently to get the free upgrade to CS6 and run into a bunch of issues?  I purchased Production Premium yesterday (5/3/12), and aside from an initial confirmation email, I've gotten zip since.  None of the programs were showing up on the licensing site (which is now down for "scheduled" maintenance) meaning no chance to download what I bought or get serial numbers, no email with my order number, no history of my order or transaction in my account info, online chat support stating that it's a 72-hour wait to get your downloads/serial numbers instead of the "up to 24 hour" time frame specified by the email, getting transfered from one department to another only to have the call dropped, a 2-hour hold for the licensing support line and no reps available for chat...
    And of course the weekend is upon us so I'll likely have to wait until next week to (hopefully) access the software I purchased.  Kind of ridiculous.  Buy an online product somewhere else and you get download access as soon as you make the payment.  Spend $2000 on Adobe products and get no the runaround about what's going on with the order, why the delay, shoddy support/web services, etc.
    Ugh.  Am I the only one?  Has annyone else made a purchase in the last couple of days without a hitch, namely a Creative Suite product in anticipation of the free upgrade to CS6 when it's released?
    Do other users find this type of experience typical for Adobe purchases/support, or is it usually a hassle-free and straightforward process?  The software itself is going to be fantastic, no doubt, but the ordering process and customer support thus far has been absolutely dreadful. 

    Things are always busy and response times prolonged around the time of a major new release at Adobe.  As you saw, CS6 was released then so there was quite a bit of preparation and cutover going on and increased traffic...  But you should almost always be able to access the free trial downloads to get started with your product right away (no interruption and they're good for 30 days), until the permanent serial numbers arrive.

  • PDF Import/Export Issue.

    Just know, I installed the LiveCycle ES4 and tried to add the import/export feature on my PDF form. Everything was fine, there wasn't any error message. But when I opened the PDF, it showed me:
    "This document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
    Anyone can help me to figure out this issue?

    Sounds like a bunch of issues, not just one issue.
    For slow import from flash cards, check the hardware (is the card reader failing? or USB connection failing?)
    Computer crashes are often memory problems, or video driver problems.
    Problem exporting to photoshop? I don't have photoshop so I can't help with that but this is a common problem here in the forums, you might want to search on that issue

  • Please help with several issues-Pictures, Videos and More.

    I'm on my 3rd iPhone4 in 48 days. A few weeks ago I switched to ATT from Sprint and the EVO because my Company forced me too (they pay for my line). I have a bunch of issues. I won't get into the poor reception and dropped data connection since this is a hardware problem. Ok, when I take pictures and send in an email they don't send straight. Even is I rotate then and save that way when I attach the picture it's not straight. This also happens with video. If I send in a text they are correct. If anyone has tried a Samsung Galaxy S I would like feedback on that too. Probably a long shot in an iPhone forum but I am desperate. I'm not pleased with this phone. I may have to return it.

    The ATT rep has visited our work twice. Several us have had issues. He told us we would be able to return our phones even after the 30 days because of all the service tickets open on our phones. If we wanted to move to something else we would just pay the difference. So if I wanted to change to the GalaxyS it wouldn't cost me a thing since it's $199 which I paid for my iPhone. For some reason when I double tap the space bar for a period most of the time it types the letter B. Why is this?

  • Licensing/Download/Serial Issues??

    Anyone else purchase CS5.5 recently to get the free upgrade to CS6 and run into a bunch of issues?  Nothing showing up in the licensing site (which is now down for "scheduled" maintenance), no order number, online chat support stating that it's a 72-hour wait to get your downloads/serial numbers, 2-hour hold for licensing support line....
    And of course the weekend is upon us so I'll likely have to wait until next week to (hopefully) access the software I purchased.  Kind of ridiculous.  Buy an online product somewhere else and you get access as soon as you make the payment.  Spend $2000 on Adobe products and get the runaround about what's going on with the order, why the delay, shoddy support/web services, etc.
    Ugh.  Am I the only one?  Has annyone else made a purchase in the last couple of days without a hitch?
