A failure exit code of 1152 was returned

The program for advertisement "XXXXXX" failed ("XXXXX" - "*"). A failure exit code of 1152 was returned.
User context: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Possible cause: Systems Management Server (SMS) determines status for each program it executes. If SMS cannot find or correlate any installation status Management Information Format (MIF) files for the program, it uses the
program's exit code to determine status. An exit code of 1152 is considered a failure. Solution: For more information on the exit code, refer to the documentation for the program you are distributing.
I was trying to deploy a package which installs in a task sequence but failing. It works on other machines but failing on this particular client and was getting
the above status on SCCM. Anyone who already encountered this issue?
Thank you!

Below is the last failed status:
The program for advertisement "HD1200B0" failed ("HD100173" - "*"). A failure exit code of 33280
was returned. User context: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Possible cause: Systems Management Server (SMS) determines status for each program it executes. If SMS cannot find or correlate any installation status Management Information Format (MIF) files for the
program, it uses the program's exit code to determine status. An exit code of 33280 is considered a failure. Solution: For more information on the exit code, refer to the documentation for the program you are distributing.
The last smsts.log indicated:  "Waiting for software updates to pause".
A failure exit code of 33280?
Thanks!

  • A failure exit code of 257 was returned - Offfice Communicator 2007 deployment

    Hi
I'm trying to deploy Office Communicator 2007 with the MSI-File, the patch with the msp-file and the mui also an msi file.
I do this with a task sequence.
I tested the deployment a couple of times and it worked all the time.
Now I deployed the package to our clients this are xp sp3 and vista sp1 clients.
The deployment worked for about 2 hours. The notebook who where online at this time they received the package.
So I was able to update approximately the half of all clients.
But now every notebook who receive the deployment will get the same error massage:
    1. The program for advertisement has not yet startet -> that is normal
    2. Advertisement was received -> that is normal
    3. Progarm started for advertisement (Command line: "C:\Windows\system32\CCM\TSLauncher.exe") -> also normal
    4. The program for advertisement "XXX" failed ("BMA0014D" -"*") -> Then the advertisement has finished and no software is installed.
    Here the error message:
The program for advertisement "BMA202BD" failed ("BMA0014D" - "*"). A failure exit code of 257 was returned.  User context: AUTORITE NT\SYSTEM    Possible cause: Systems Management Server (SMS) determines status for each program it executes. If SMS cannot find or correlate any installation status Management Information Format (MIF) files for the program, it uses the program's exit code to determine status. An exit code of 257 is considered a failure.  Solution: For more information on the exit code, refer to the documentation for the program you are distributing.
BMA0014D is the ID of the Task sequence.
So I was searching on the internet but I didn't found anything about the "exit code of 257"
Why does it worked for 2 hours and now I receive the error message?
I tried to update the software packages on the distribution point. But I still get the same error.
Then i tried to create the advertisement new. But it still doesn't work.
The advertisement run time is set to "as soon as possible". The expire time isn't set.
    Where is the problem?
    I have no idea.
    Thanks for your quick respond.

    Hi
Now I tested normal advertisements and TS advertisements.
Both don't work and they get both the same error message, like this above.

What do you mean, what does your TS look like?
I have an Run Script command and 3 software packages to install.
On the client there will be a message that the installation in 5 minutes will beginn.
After those 5minutes the message disappear and that's all. Then I get the error message on the sccm server.
Where can I set or check the Network Access Account?

  • Returned Failure Exit Code 1603

I am having an issue with one server in particular trying to install the CM client. The server is running Server 2008 R2 and is used as our primary file server.

I saw a similar issue in the c:\windows\ccmsetup\logs directory...
It turns out that the user had an external drive connected which had more free space available than what was available on the local C:\ drive.
I believe the installer logic says to deflate the contents of the vcredist.exe package to the drive with the most available free space and then for some reason or another the installation routine cannot continue.
Out of interest, does the server in question have either a local or removable disk with more free space than the local C:\ drive? Perhaps a Mounted LUN or a mapped CIFS volume?

Photoshop Elements 10 Mac Ongoing Install Failure - Exit Code 7
I downloaded Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac (not trial, with valid serial #)
Mac OSX 10.7.2, 3.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 16 GB RAM
I know the install package is valid because I installed it on my backup laptop (same Max OSX version) after I was having problems with my primary desktop and it installed fine. I have followed all the instructions on the install package including "restarting my system and installing again," and the install keeps failing with the same message:

    Suggestions? thanks.

Issue resolved with the help of Adobe Support (Mercer).  My problem had been seen in another machine, there were empty folders in the Fonts Folder (Hard Drive>Library>Fonts) that the installer could not reconcile or delete, that was hanging up the Installer.
My fix was to delete the following empty folders from the Fonts Folder:
    AdobeMingStd-Light.otf
    BickhamScriptPro-Regular.otf
    KozMinPro-Regular.otf
    MyriadPro-BoldCond.otf
    TektonPro-BoldCond.otf
And then re-run the installer (be sure to empty the trash).
My advice would be to first read the installer log and look for names of font folders that could not be resolved, then dump those.  Another way would be to dump any empty folders in the Fonts Folder, empty the trash, then re-sun the installer.

    Is there a solution?
    Thanks.
    Jim

Look for this file or folder on your machine:
    "<Macintosh HD>/Library/Fonts/MyriadWebPro-Italic.ttf"
Is there a folder named MyriadWebPro-Italic inside the Fonts folder? Is the file MyriadWebPro-Italic.ttf already existing within this folder?
In both the cases, delete this file/folder and try to install PSE again.
Hope this helps. Let me know.

    Ankush

  • Microsoft Project 2013 Installation failure Exit code 259

    Hello guys,
I encountered an issue regarding the Project 2013 installation.  It always gives the Exit code 259. I checked the meaning of 259, it means
    No more data is available.
Does any body see the same/similare problem?
I also seeking a parameter which could allow me to create the log for Project2013 installation, thus maybe some helpful infor could be provided in the log. The source files is as below,
    Any help is appreciated.
    Ethan.

Project? It looks like it's a folder for Visio 2013. Maybe you have upload the wrong screenshot?
And what's the files like Passive.MSP and Passive_orig.MSP?
Also check if there are other files in the updates folder, if they didn't create anything, just empty the
updates folder (back up first), and try to run setup again.
Meanwhile, by default, Office (Project) will create log files in the \Temp folder during setup. The log files have names that are similar to
    SetupExe(201304251107012350).log
Other than that, we can also use the Process Monitor to capture the real time info during the setup:

  • SignTool.exe verify /pa returns exit code 1 from the code but works fine while running from command prompt

    Hi,
I am using SignTool.exe from a new Process() to verify a codesigned assembly and it returns the exit code 1 whereas it returns exit code 0 while i run the same from Visual Studio Command prompt. Please let me know your thoughts...
Here is my code snippet from VS2012 ultimate on Win7 PC.
    p = new Process();
                p.StartInfo.FileName = "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft SDKs\\Windows\\v7.0A\\Bin\\SignTool.exe";
                string args = @"verify";
                p.StartInfo.Arguments =  args + " "+ "/pa " + "/v "+ name;
                p.Start();
                p.WaitForExit();
                pexitcode = p.ExitCode;
    //name = "C:\\Users\\v-maparn\\Documents\\Visual Studio 2012\\Projects\\CodesignVerification\\CodesignVerification\\bin\\Release\\Microsoft.IT.Core.dll"
    Thanks,
    Mani

    Hi Amy,
Thanks for your reply. I am receiving the exit code 1 by the Process even though the SignTool is able to successfully verify the assembly. I ran the below command from command prompt and received no errors or warnings. I assume the exit code should be 0.
I have also verified that this assembly has digital signature embedded as you can see from the output.
    output:

  • Job scheduling error : The return value was unknown. The process exit code was -1073741819. The step failed.

I am working in Sqlserver 2008 R2, SSIS 64 bit version
I am getting the below  error while scheduling the job in the development server  Database.
The return value was unknown.  The process exit code was -1073741819.  The step failed.
The SSIS front end execution runs fine.
Have anyone  faced this issue before?

    Hi Venkat,
If you already changed to 64bit and still doesn't work then create proxy account..
    To create a proxy account
In Object Explorer, expand a server.
    Expand SQL Server Agent.
Right-click Proxies and select New Proxy.
On the General page of the New Proxy Account dialog, specify the proxy name, credential name, and
description for the new proxy. Note that you must create a credential first before you create a proxy if one is not already available. For more information about creating a credential, see How
to: Create a Credential (SQL Server Management Studio) or CREATE CREDENTIAL (Transact-SQL).
Check the appropriate subsystem for this proxy.
On the Principals page, add or remove logins or roles to grant or remove access to the proxy account.
    Thanks

New package or one that used to work? Connecting how? How does it poll?
On the surface it is an error from a memory space of the binary/non-managed code, so nothing can be really concluded based on what you decided to share with us.

So Same package is working fine from my local machine which has SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2012 installed. I am trying to push the package on server which has sql server 2012 Installed .

  • Java was started but returned exit code=8096

Perusing the internet found these 4 options as a possible solution but none panned out. Does anyone have any idea why this exit code would be occurring? Occurs using RDz 8.5.1.1.
Possible solutions indicated for JVM terminated, exit code = 8096:
Option 1. Clear the temp file folder and restart the computer
Option 2. Cear the corrupted cache using this command: javaw.exe -Xsharedclasses:destroy. Before you use this command, please first make sure javaw.exe is not running.
Option 3: If ClearCase is used for version control, please make sure all artifacts' names are not longer than 256
Option 4: Remove the following environment variables: JAVA_OPTIONS, JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS, IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS

    Hi Muddassar,
    Hope you are doing good.
A new note has been released exclusively for this issue. Please see:

    Hi Hooi,
I'd like to know whether you can build successfully in your local machine with MSBuild. You have to build succeed with MSBuild beore you can build with TFS Build since TFS build use MSBuild as its default compiler.
From the error message, you might build with wrong platform for your project. Please check if the build platfrom is proper. If you have customization of your build process template, it would be better to elaborate the reproduce steps and customization details.
    Best regards,

  • Execute Process Task - Error :The process exit code was "2" while the expected was "0".

I am designing a utility which will keep two similar databases in sync. In other words, copying the new data from db1 to db2  and updating the old data from db1 to db2.
For this I am making use of the 'Tablediff' utility which when provided with server name, database, table info will generate .sql file which can be used to keep the target table in sync with the source table.
I am using the Execute Process Task  and the process parameters I am providing are:
    WorkingDirectory : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\COM
    Executable :      C:\SQL_bat_Files\SQL5\TC_CTI\customer.bat
The customer.bat file will have the following code:
    tablediff -sourceserver "LV-SQL5" -sourcedatabase "TC_CTI" -sourcetable "CUSTOMER_1" -destinationserver "LV-SQL2" -destinationdatabase "TC_CTI" -destinationtable "CUSTOMER"  -f "c:\SQL_bat_Files\sql5\TC_CTI\sql_files\customer1"
the .sql file will be generated at:  C:\SQL_bat_Files\sql5\TC_CTI\sql_files\customer1.
    The Problem:
The Execute Process Task is working fine, ie., the tables are being compared correctly and the .SQL file is being generated as desired. But the task as such is reporting faliure with the following error :
[Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "C:\SQL_bat_Files\SQL5\TC_CTI\package_occurrence.bat" "" at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\COM", The process exit code was "2" while the expected was "0". ]
Some of you may suggest to just set the ForceExecutionResult = Success (infact this is what I am doing now just to get the program working), but, this is not what I desire.
    Can anyone help ?

    Jwelch,
    Thanks for the input,
"Change the SuccessValue property of the Execute Process task from 0 to 2 (which means that you will get a failure if there are no differences, since TableDiff returns 0 in that case)."
-- Not possible b'coz if there is no difference in the tables, which is also a possiblility, the job will fail.
"FailTaskIfReturnCodeIsNotSuccessValue to FALSE (which means it won't fail regardless of the code returned)."
-- Does this mean the job will never fail? Lets say the target table doesnt exist, then, by setting "FailTaskIfReturnCodeIsNotSuccessValue to FALSE " will the job fail? I guess my question is, how is what you've suggested different from setting "ForceExecutionResult = Success". Both the cases will show the task status "Success" even if there is an error.
Is there a way to keep the property of job 'Failure' if there is any generic errors like target table not found or say, the path given for .sql file output is not valid etc.
    Thanks again,
    Little_Birdie.
