A few frequent problems in MOS
I am facing a bit frequent 'server errors' on MOS - especially if I change the main options (like Knowledge to Service Request, or Patches & updates, etc).
I have also seen Error #1088 a few times and sometimes, my service requests do not show up a few times if I click on the Service Requests tab. Later they do appear after a few minutes.
Are these common observations or it could be because of my account settings.

I agree with your analysis. This is a commiserating club in effect, though I think and hope that Oracle will not ignore these issues but they will not be a priority or anybody's responsibility. This serves as a consumer feedback for Oracle. I just wanted to confirm, it wasn't only me seeing it.
BTW, I honestly hate to see how the MOS has killed most of the ways to mask URLs making it really hard to have more than one tabs open for MOS documents. And that's a very dumb idea when browsers are allowing more and more tab functionalities. It's like moving backwards with the progress of time.

But after running a update to 10.5.8 with update if Itunesand security etc it was about 6 updates all together.

Leo uses 2 to 4 times the resources of Tiger, & while 512MB is the minimum for Leo, that really crimps the OS, it isn't all that great for Tiger, though 10.4 does better with only 512MB, I'd put 2GB in it for decent performance, (if an IntelMac I'd say 4GB for the same OS).

Also, open Console in Utilities, look for repeating messages, you may have some 10.04 things running that fail in 10.5.

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

In my opinion, OSX is headed towards Windows®, & aimed at users that only know how to Twit.

If you want/need 10.5... max out the RAM for sure. -

iam using iphone 5s frequently problem is "your i phone couls not be activated because the activation server can not be reached. connect to wifi or i tunes to activate.

I get a black screen on the camera app on my iPod touch? Is there a solution? Resetting only helped for a few days, the problem comes back.
Camera works, with the side buttons it takes pictures.
Although I'm not able to see on the screen.
MikeFirst try a restore from backup
If problem still occurs try a restore to factory defaults/new Pod.
If still occurs likely a hardware problem and an appoitment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
A Few Questions/Problems With My New iPod *PLEASE HELP*
Hello! I just received my first iPod (4th Gen, 4GB, Red Nano) two days ago (Christmas Eve) and have so far been fairly happy with it. However, I'm experiencing a few problems with it and am hoping that someone could help me.
Firstly, a few of the album covers on my iPod are just black squares. I've read other complaints about this on the forums, but haven't seen any solutions. What can I do to fix this?
Second, I can't figure out how to put my songs in order. On iTunes, it allows me to put songs in alphabetical order, but being that most of my songs are part of full albums, I want my songs to be in the order of when they play on the actual albums. When I try to drag my songs into their correct places, I'm not able to.
Also, is there any way to delete the games that my iPod came with? I think they might be taking up too much room for my liking...

Few "minor" problems with Parallels, please help...
After successfully uninstalling Bootcamp and Windows XP, I bought Parallels for Mac and did okay on a clean install. The only problem is, everytime I plug in "ANY" USB device, I get a message (something to the effect) "Device being used by another process". When I attempt to "eject" that device, I still get that same message. Is there ANYTHING I can try??? I was hoping to either connect a flash drive with music and documents, or my 100 gig external USB hard drive, but Windows XP via Parallels does not recognize any external devices. By the way, I even went as far as installing the Mac drivers that Bootcamp requires. That did help with a few other "devices" (such as PCI devices, etc), but I cannot get Windows to recognize any other USB devices.
Your help, opinions and advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

A few bugs/problems I met in LPX, did you met some of the problems here:
Some of the bugs/problems drives me crazy , don't know if I can solve it:
1.undo and redo, undo, redo, let you select other unwanted region.
2.click on a region, it doesn't show where you are at, but the head of the region.
3.somtimes mouse turn into other icon like zoom in glass, or pencil, or ....anything it could be , unless you press 2 or 3 on keyboard it turns back into mouse (sometimes it can't be turned back)
4.in this new Logic Pro X, when I'm recording a midi , other midis are not playing back probably, or if I'm playing back from bar 30-40, and I adjust a track's volume in bar 20, the playback is affected and not sounding right....(I'm using external midi tracks, don't know if you use software instruments and met same problem?)
5.during tempo change, some midi won't output/sound probably in tempo, like if I suddenly change tempo from 80 to 130, the first bar of 130 contains some 16th notes and a few of those 16 notes sound not in 130 tempo, the followd 16 notes are sounding right
6.MTC code into another DAW on another computer is not stable, the other DAW usually stops and re-insync with MTC of LPX, when I'm using Logic 9, never met this probme...

i've done a search of the forum but not found any particular answers. My fiance has an N8, her first Nokia, and it has some problems:
1) keeps freezing, often requring a reboot
2) a few times it's changed the date and time completely randomly, going back a month or so once.
3) it seems the settings aren't saving - i changed screen lock to 10 minutes from 1 and it still locks after 1 minute, even after a reboot, and changed welcome screen from default to image, and it just showed the default hands.
4) the proximity sensor seems too sensitive, moving it a fraction while talking on a call will turn the display on and then calls are often dropped, silenced or put on hold.
5) sometimes when using the lock switch the key symbol will appear by the battery, indicating it's locked, but the screen light stays on and social still updates. at best it takes unlocking and locking again for it to lock properly with a black screen, but sometimes it doesn't respond for ages.
It's on PR1.2, so not outdated firmware. Anyone had these problems and know of any fixes? Are any apps causing problems?
Oh she lives in Arizona, and although it's not hot in the house or other buildings, i don't know if it can be affected by the heat anyway?
Is this likely to require using the warranty? it was bought new on amazon so not sure what the rights are.Doesn't sound good.
You could try three 8 second reset, hold power button until you feel three buzz's.
Or try re installing the firmware using NSU or OVI suite before you go down the warranty route.

I received my phone a week ago and had it replaced yesterday. I have a few issues and would like some guidance please! - When I switched my phone off, a factory code box came up and since then a message saying 'Allow sim card to send a message' box comes up all the time - Time, when you have a missed call or send a message, the time is 1 hour behind - My choice of tone and message alert tone keeps on changing automatically despite saving my choice - Using the 'colour' theme I can't see the symbol character cursor. I got my new sim card from T-Mobile just now (despite my old one being 4 months old). The time problem and error message seem to have been sorted but not sure why my ring tone keeps changing automatically and why I can't see the cursor for symbols when I compose a text.
Also, have you experienced problems with the battery life? I charged mine fully yesterday (when I received it) and a third of the life has gone already!

Hey guys I have a couple of problems with my iMac.
1 - The Display.
Its a bit hard to describe this problem but after a few hours of having my Mac on and say having a safari window open. If I move the window there is a ghost mark where the window was on the screen, almost like its burnt into it. Anyone know what this is or how to stop it?
2 - Using iPod Earphones with the iMac.
I'm at Uni so I use the iPod earphones to listen to music. I generally have the volume around 40 to 80%. Recently I've gone though two sets of earphones on the Mac where the right earbud has completely failed. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and when it works it crackles or is very quiet. I don't know if this is a problem with the iMac but I've seen it happen to others using iPods. I literally replaced the earphones two weeks ago and they've gone again. Anyone have any ideas? I have the receipt (I think) and I have the box, I think it comes with a 1 year warranty so I should be able to replace them.I don't think the Apple earbuds have a one-year warranty, since so much can happen to them, including people playing them too loud or getting them wet. But I'm not sure, so you can try to get them replaced.
Also, going forward, I would buy a set of non-Apple headphones or earbuds. For the same or better sound quality, they often cost less than the Apple white earbuds.
For the display, you should set it, in System Preferences +Energy Saver+ pane, to use +display sleep+ after about 15 minutes of inactivity. You don't have to sleep the Mac, just the display. Having the backlighting on all the time will wear it out. With LCDs, it will come back on immediately when you press a key or move the mouse. -
A few new problems with my G5. Please help!
Ok I have fixed my graphics card dilemma however the monitor still occasionally plays up (maybe the card is cooked somewhere but still works).
1. I have a problem that I really want to fix and it's about the Bluetooth on the Mac. I don't have a Bluetooth card but what I am using is a HP USB Bluetooth stick. I can send files to my mobile easily from the computer, but when it comes to sending things back onto my Mac from the mobile, it doesn't respond. When I send an item from the mobile, a window appears on the Mac saying "incoming file transfer" and it just idles at 'Calculating time & status'. How do I go about fixing this?
2. Another thing, I cannot access certain sites I visit because of Rosetta. I have no clue on how to turn Rosetta off for Safari or Firefox. I tried Apple+I on the application it self and looked for any boxes that were ticked from previous advice. But I cannot find a box that says to turn off Rosetta.

3. One more Problem I wish to deal with once and for all.
I have a video capture device called a Canopus ADVC-100. I use it to capture videos from VCR, etc. I also want to get it hooked up to my gaming console and record gameplay to post on the internet. The problem is, when I open up Final Cut PRO or Empia Capture, the screen just flickers. When I turn my console settings to Pal-50, it works perfectly. But the problem is that some games only work on Pal-60. Is there a way to solve this problem and make Pal-60 work on my Mac?
If you can give out help to any of these problems please number your answers accordingly so I know what your talking about.

1. Are you using the powered USB port in front of the Mac tower, or the port on the keyboard?
2. In Safari/Help/Installed plug-ins you should find: Shockwave for Director
Macromedia Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 10.1.1 — from file “NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave”. Your plug-ins are found in Library/Internet Plug-ins/NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave, nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, Flash Player.plugin, flashplayer.xpt along with others. If these plug-ins are not there, web browser are unable to find them.
Because you have upgraded from a previous version OS, you will have to locate them and move them manually. Look in Users/yourname/Library/Internet Plug-ins.
3. What display do you have? I have mine set to 96 Hertz.

Hi im a noob at dream weaver and i've been trying to create a menu and i have been having problems with this menu bar i don't know what to upload and i have made a topic about this before but i only got one reply and so i am trying to make my menu bar transparent and then the sub menu's colored with the color code #1A1A1A and the menu bars that have been color background are only the sub sub menu bars if you know what i mean and also my other problem is the spacing i have between each option is really uneven is there a way to make them evenly sperated apart from each other rather than just the size of a "box" that the text is in. Aperture 2 - Maybe a few small problems/bugs
After 2 solid days worth of playing around with Aperture v2, I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problems as me?
1. (Creating a new book) Can't File -> Print Book -> Save to PDF. It seems to die when it gets to around 30 pages.
2. (Trying to buy the book) Go through the sign-up process via Aperture. Following the steps, I add in CC details to my .mac details, click next (step 3 - I think) and it reports 'Unexpected error has occurred'. No joy now for 2 days.
I really need to get this book done and dusted!!
Any assistance would be much appreciated.Anyway have any ideas?

1. Use CSS to set the margins for the <p> tags.

2. That's how HTML works. Elements follow the normal flow and
block level
elements, like a table, usually begin on a new "line."
You could make the table with your navigation in it a 2
column table.
Insert the navigation in the first column.
Insert a new table in the second column.
Then, the new table will sit to the right of the navigation.
You could also use divs and CSS to float them next to each
other.
Your best bet is to set DW aside for a little while and learn
HTML and CSS.
DW will be far easier to use if you understand how HTML
works.
Then you'll understand why things happen like they do, what
is possible and
how to do it.
If you don't, DW will be a very frustrating adventure with a
hard learning
curve.

I need to load export presets from CS6 to my Premiere CC.
The presets do not seem to exist anywhere on my Mac Mavericks anywhere.
