A few new problems with my G5. Please help!

Ok I have fixed my graphics card dilemma however the monitor still occasionally plays up (maybe the card is cooked somewhere but still works).
1. I have a problem that I really want to fix and it's about the Bluetooth on the Mac. I don't have a Bluetooth card but what I am using is a HP USB Bluetooth stick. I can send files to my mobile easily from the computer, but when it comes to sending things back onto my Mac from the mobile, it doesn't respond. When I send an item from the mobile, a window appears on the Mac saying "incoming file transfer" and it just idles at 'Calculating time & status'. How do I go about fixing this?
2. Another thing, I cannot access certain sites I visit because of Rosetta. I have no clue on how to turn Rosetta off for Safari or Firefox. I tried Apple+I on the application it self and looked for any boxes that were ticked from previous advice. But I cannot find a box that says to turn off Rosetta.

3. One more Problem I wish to deal with once and for all.
I have a video capture device called a Canopus ADVC-100. I use it to capture videos from VCR, etc. I also want to get it hooked up to my gaming console and record gameplay to post on the internet. The problem is, when I open up Final Cut PRO or Empia Capture, the screen just flickers. When I turn my console settings to Pal-50, it works perfectly. But the problem is that some games only work on Pal-60. Is there a way to solve this problem and make Pal-60 work on my Mac?
If you can give out help to any of these problems please number your answers accordingly so I know what your talking about.

1. Are you using the powered USB port in front of the Mac tower, or the port on the keyboard?
2. In Safari/Help/Installed plug-ins you should find: Shockwave for Director
Macromedia Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 10.1.1 — from file “NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave”. Your plug-ins are found in Library/Internet Plug-ins/NP-PPC-Dir-Shockwave, nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, Flash Player.plugin, flashplayer.xpt along with others. If these plug-ins are not there, web browser are unable to find them.
Because you have upgraded from a previous version OS, you will have to locate them and move them manually. Look in Users/yourname/Library/Internet Plug-ins.
3. What display do you have? I have mine set to 96 Hertz.

Your earlier phone must have been originally intended for sale in another country and must have been purchased from somewhere other than an authorized Apple retailer. Phones that are intended to be sold in the UAE have FaceTime permanently disabled. The option is not there and cannot be made to work.

Weirdest problem with ipod!PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Okay, i tried to load a playlist that had about 100 songs on it. While its loading, the update just stops. My ipod starts going crazy.The apple logo keeps lighting up and then the light doesnt come on but the logo is still there. You can hear the inside of it like trying to come on but then it just keeps doing the same thing til the battery life runs out! I really need help on this! I've tried to reset but everytime I do it it just keeps doing the same thing. I dont know if i should wipe all my songs off of itunes or what but im so confused and so aggravated with it. PLEASE HELP ME! I'D REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

I'm trying to build a chat server in Java on Linux OS.I've created basically 2 classes in the client program.The first one shows the login window.When we enter the Login ID & password & click on the ok button,the data is sent to the server for verification.If the login is true,the second class is invoked,which displays the messenger window.This class again access the server
for collecting the IDs of the online persons.But this statement which reads from the server causes an exception in the program.If we invoke the second class independently(ie not from 1st class) then there is no problem & the required data is read from the server.Can anyone please help me in getting this program right.I'm working on a p4 machine with JDK1.4.

I'm still having problems with XUL Runner - please help am getting desperate!

I recently sought help over a problem I am having with FF. When I try and load it, I get a message telling me that XUL runner 1.9.2.11 is not compatible with 1.9.2.12. The advice I received was to do a clean install. I have done this a number of times - using the Uninstall option in Control Panel as well as running the uninstall utility in the Firefox program folder. Each time I reinstall, and get the same problem. The only difference is that a few days ago I was installing FF 3.6.10, and that gave the error message that XUL runner 1.9.2.11 was not compatible with 1.9.2.10.
I have FF set as my default browser, so when I click on links in e-mails, etc. I get the same failure to load symptoms. However, I found by chance that FF works OK in conjunction with System Mechanic 10 - a maintenance utility I have on my machine. If I select the on-line help option from that Menu, FF loads and runs OK. I can open new tabs and have no problem loading other pages. However, even with FF open, if I click a link in an e-mail, I get the XUL Runner error message.
Although not all symptoms are the same, I am also having problems with IE8. When I run the program it loads, shows a 'connecting' message in the tab header, then closes. If I uninstall FF, then System Mechanic selects IE8 as the default browser, and as with FF, loads OK.
Chrome and Safari both run OK (thankfully). there must be someone out there who knows what this all points to - is that person you?!
Note: Trouble shooting information retrieved using FF when opened with System Mechanic.

If you have such problems then you need remove the Firefox program folder before installing a new copy of the full Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Problem with "Package Spec" please help.

I'm developing a master-detail form, so I'm using a "Package Spec" variable to hold the primary key value from the master form. The primary key value for the master is generated by a sequence.
Here's the package spec:

If I try to insert two consecutive records into the same detail table, I get an error saying "Unique Constraint voilated", becuase the variable is holding the old values.
And lastly after it inserts the record into the database, I get a dialog box saying, "successfuly inserted 2 records into the database" and when I click ok, the Form closes by itself, any ideas on how to stop this?
I'm really stuck here. Please help me out on this.

Hi,
Maybe the best way to start is to try building a new form from scratch. For simplicity I will assume that you have one master and one detail table. Master table has a primary key and the detail table has a foreign key to the master. Based on this, with the forms you can create a database block based on your master table. Use the wizard. Again using the wizard, create a second block based on the detail table. You'll see a screen to prompt to create a relationship. Create one by selecting the master table and the right foreign key relation. Now take a close look to all triggers automatically created by the form. Also check the "Relations" object found in you master block object tree. Note that the foreight key column in the detail table has the "Copy Value From Item" property set to monitor the master block's primary key.
This is the basic. You don't need the database triggers, except (in case you want to insert through, say, SLQPlus) the one for the master table, which will look like this:

Run the form and explore different situations to see how the form is keeping the data integrity.

Having problems with Frontrow. Please help!

i've been trying to figure this out all day today but i haven't found any solution. hopefully you Mac Geniuses can help. now, my problem isn't that my videos won't play, because they do. they all play perfectly. okay, so when i launch Frontrow, all my video files appear under their respective folders; my TV Shows appear under the TV Shows folder and my Music Videos appear under the Music Videos folder. however, for some strange reason, these files also want to appear under the Movies folder. That means they're showing up twice! -under the Movies folder and TV Shows/Music Videos. is there anyway to fix this, because it's really cluttering my Movies folder and i admit i'm a really anal neat-freak.
Also, i have correctly labeled the video files as Movie, TV Show or Music Video under iTunes. Everything is organized well under iTunes, so i doubt it's that.
please help!!

It might be because with the new update, it seems as though anything stored in the MOVIES folder , shows up under movies in Front Row. I have a folder of Transformers AVI'S in my movie folder, now it shows up in the movie directory of front row

I'm having problems with my ringtones please help

I have tried everything to fix my BB Curve problem even down to the battery.   I have custom ringtones set for my husband and other family members. So whenever they call or text I know who it is.. Now my issue is that if I get a text from my son his ringtone will sound than if I get a standard text my son's ringtone will go again. Not the default for just regular ringtones. I took off my facebook becuase someone said that could be a problem. Verizon sent me a new phone and I entered everything manually so if there was something wrong I wouldn't transfer the problem to the new phone. It's not fixed. If someone could please help me. I'm getting ready to turn my BB off completely it's that frustrating. Thank you for any help.

It sounds as if you are saying that any "non-specific" SMS sender receives that text tone of the last one you have set a personal tone for who has texted you?
I don't know. I can only say that if you use those instructon in the guideline, they work.

Problem with file downloads - please help

Good morning. Since upgrading to BT Infinity 2, I have been experiencing the following problems:
Cannot update Sonos firmware to version 5 - download times out and gives error 30
Cannot download most files from safari - all start for the first few kb and then just hang
Cannot download larger PDF files from Mac Mail
These problems manifest themselves over wireless and wired connections, with the BT Homehub 5 and an Asus router. My ipad has no problems when on other networks or if I access my email from my work computer. When talking to BT technical support over the chat facility yesterday the connection dropped once every 10-30 seconds before reconnecting again. All of this leads me to believe that I have an intermittent failure on my broadband connection however BT insist that there is nothing wrong with the line or the router. I have changed channels on my router but this does not seem to make things better. Internet is working fine on all my devices for web browsing - only file downloads experiencing problems.
Please help.

Oh sorry, I thought from your description you were using an ASUS connected to the HH5, but it turns out you're using them separately.
Is there a firmware update you can get on the ASUS?

Video card or driver problems with an N200, please help!

I have a lenovo 3000 N200, it is really cool, runs even games quite well, including newer ones.
But, is it normal to for the display driver program to freeze out in Warcraft 3? It always does that, when accessing the list of maps in the game and after 3-5 mins during an actual game. It sets the resolution down to 640X480 (from 1280X800) and in 16 color. I have to reset it in order to make it work. Also it does the same in Spore - though after having the driver written for Spore installed, ( which I downloaded from lenovo's site ) I haven't encountered that problem so far. Also Second Life shuts down - thankfully it does not freeze the drivers. I understand that the model I have is not meant for gaming but if it can run Warhammer 40k: Soulstorm at meduim graphic settings (on widescreen) without a lagg I can't understand why it wouldn't be able to handle warcraft 3 - that even an ATi m200 express can handle. I mean an X3100 from Intel must be far more powerful. (Said ATi card laggs with older games like Unreal Tournament)
I have the latest driver - official - and a Win Xp pro Sp2. I always keep my system up to date - save for opsys but so far driver did not need sp3 - and virus clean.

Well, Unreal Tournament 2004 runs flawlessly on max graphics - though simple Unreal Tournament laggs like hell with all possible settings - also, as I said Dawn Of War and it's expansions run well on med graphics. The Suffering Ties That Bind runs also good on highest settings - though there is a bit of degradation compared to my tabletop pc's performance. Disciples 2 ran - of course - well, there were some texture problems with it but Heroes 5 ran quite well even on higher settings (as I mentioned it sometimes blunted down the textures but not always and it ran without a lagg). Alien Versus Predator 2 ran on max graphics, and there was no trouble, save for the aliens' special vision (that white thing that looks as if inverted colors) didn't work - aka was only a black screen - and that the crosshair of the smartgun was only a blank red/green block on the middle of the screen.Oh, and Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour works on highest settings without a lagg, along with Quake 3, and Jedi knight : Academy. It even runs Perfect World on high settings and only laggs in bigger towns - but that also might be because of the tremendous bandwidth usage that occurs. Even Red Alert 3 was able to run, but I would only advise that for RA fanatics, on low settings it was playable. Also, C & C: Tiberium Wars runs better than RA 3 , if you like that it is quite playable and worth a try. As you can see I have put it to it's limits to see what it can endure. Unreal Tournament 3 ran, though was gruesomely degraded and then it gave me the blue screen of death; so I quickly uninstalled that. Other than the forementioned program I had no real problems with the card, but the existing problems are a pain in the ... well we all know how bothering it can be when one is unable to play his/her favourite game (that should really run flawlessly).
Doesn't vista eat up too much of the system resources? A friend of mine was complaining about his n200 that vista is too slow on it and it eats up too much processor/memory.
Also, still no new on videocard front... Asked around if anyone knows, but I am guessing that maybe even Blizzard - referring to my Warcraft problem - shows more compassion to their forums and users than Lenovo, so I'll ask around there too.

Serious problems with footnotes. Please help!

Working with InDesign CS 6 with a book containing about 200 pages with 330 footnotes, numbered from 1 to 330 throughout the whole book.
This day suddenly adding a new footnote at the beginning of the book (somewhere between footnote 11 and 12) is no longer possible. InDesign stops working and has to be ended by way of the taskmanager.
When I add a footnote somewhere between footnote 280 and 281 it is still working.
When I delete half of the book and half of the footnotes it is also working.
So there seems to be a capacity-problem where InDesign "says": enough footnotes.
I am not optimistic about a solution because (as an old user) I am aware that Adobe not repaired even the smallest imperfections concerning the management of footnotes since Pagemaker 3.
But does someone know a solution or work around?
The only thing I can think of is to manually add "footnoot-like" comments under the text on every page and placing some superscript sign to "fake" real footnotes. That is what we already have to do if we want to place a footnoot inside a table. Another very old and never solved problem! Even not after 10 years!
I am also uncertain if breaking up all these footnotes starting new numberings for each section will solve the problem as the TOTAL amount of notes will not change. But adding a footnoot AT THE BEGINNING of a small section (with less footnotes) may "push forward" less notes and therefor may (?) prevent InDesign from crashing?

Dadilo, you have gone to some length but sadly no positive result, but at least you have cleared some of the ifs and buts. i have looked at your mobo bios even so it says it supports your cpu q6600 it seems there has been a few updates (see links, particularly please pay attention to the pointer in pictures). you have these options left to you.
1- put the pc on it's side and take the 240 volt plug out (no power what so ever) and clear the way from any cables etc.. and remove the mobo battery with a Small screw driver (push the clip to one side the battery pups out) and hold it in your Palm for ten second or so then put it back and put everything back make sure the single memory is firmly in place so is the graphic card. then connect the power and all cables etc the power the pc.
2-your last option before you give up is try another cpu on the mobo preferably core 2 duo rather than quad and if you get it working your next move is to update the bios and i do not know how good you are in updating bios???. if none of these works then sadly the mobo is faulty in my opinion but i may be wrong :

Im having a problem with my PC in the moust unpleasent moment as I can’t do my college work and I cant afford new PC in the next 4 months, so any help with my problem will be grealty appriciated.
OK.
Here is my problem.
When I work and that’s usualy using Internet and Office XP my PC is starting to slow down (mouse cursor is scroling very slow, I cant close windows) and afther a while its turning off. Whell its not turn off exactly because CPU, GPU and PSU fans are still working but the monitor is turing on stand by. When this happens I can’t do restart so I have to puss power on/off button on the case of the PC to turn the PC off. If I try to turn in on afther that NumLock and CapsLock indicators on the keyboard will flash for a second as well as monitor and again only CPU, GPU and PSU fans works but the system is not starting. This happened several times and every time till now I waited for a day to start my PC again. That was till the last time. Now afther 4 days I still can’t to start my PC.
NOTE.
When I opned the case four led diodes that are on my MSI mainboards were lightning red. In the manual explanation for this is “The procesor might be damage or not instaled properly. Damage/discharge lithium batery”
I doubt that the problem is procesor because the PC will never start if the procesor is damaged of instaled properly.
Iv also changed lithium batery but the problem remained.
And another thing. PC Alert 4 somethimes showd that CPU and system tempetarure were 78 C. Afther this restart the system and went in bios to see if that was the real temperature but the bios showed 32 C for procesor and 22 for system.
I have the latest drivers, bios and updates for windows. Iv checked for viruses with the latest updates for Pc-cillin 2002 and I didn’t find any viruses. Iv cheked every componets on other configuratios and they worked fine.
Now a frend of me told me that the cause of problem are condenzator on mainboard araund the procesor.
If you know whats is the problem please help me to resolve it.

Please tell us more about your system, including PSU.
It sounds very, very much like a melted condensator. It is not hard to check:
Open case and look for brown or darkcoloured... yecch... on the motherboard. Another symtom will be harder and harder to start and more and more frequent shut downs.
There are people here I believe that can guide you to change them. I would get another board because the problem might happen again. In either case, save all important work, logins, etc. to an external unit. Mail it to a friend if nothing else is available.

I have a problem with my microphone, please help if you can

I have a problem with my microphone. After i bougth Creative's sound card "Sound blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio" and installed it, everything was allright and my microphone was working great, but this was when I used Windows XP, when i started to use Windows 7, it suddenly was very weak and i almost didn't heard it.
Currently, I have bouth Windows XP and Windows 7 installed, so I know the microphone is working when I am switching up between the OS, because it still works good on Windows XP.
If you can help please tell me.
I am using Windows 7 64 bit, I made sure the flexijack settings in the Audio controll panel are set to microphone and not line in, in the Windows 7 audio controll I have set the microphone volum to maximum and made sure it is configured properly.

Problems with Boot Camp - PLEASE HELP!

I'm having problems with Boot Camp. Here's what's happening. I ran Boot Camp Assistant, partitioning a 32GB BOOTCAMP drive. I insert my copy of XP and start the installation. My MBP restarts and boots into the Windows Setup. I let it run through the initial actions. I press ENTER to proceed, F8 to accept the license agreement, then when I get to the part where I should be able to select the Partition 3 BOOTCAMP drive (as it says in the Apple Boot Camp Manual) there is only a Partition 1 Unknown drive. It is the only drive to choose from and its a C: drive. I can't figure out why after I run boot camp the partitioned drive doesn't appear as an option in the windows installation. Please help!!!

Boot into Leo, start Disk Utility and you should see two partitions, your Leo partition and a Fat32 partition of 32GB at the end of the drive.
If not, boot camp didn't create it for some reason. If it is there then check it with DU and make sure its OK.
While your in there give it a name so you can easily identify it in your windows installer.
If there is no partition, create one using Disk Utility at the END if the drive. make sure you create it as a msdos (Fat32) partition and give it a name. The name cannot be more than 11 characters must be comprised of numbers and/or letters (no special characters).
Verify it before exiting DU.
Put in windows install disk, reboot - hold option key after the chime until you see the boot screen - select windows CD to begin install.
Don't forget to install Leo windows drivers after installing windows.
