While in your desktop, right click an empty space and click Screen Resolution, then, on the bottom links click "Make text and other items smaller or larger" tick the "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" and select Medium or Larger. That'll do the trick.

Great weird problem with eclipse

Hello,
I am working on a web project and using eclipse 3.1 as IDE.
The issue is that sometimes when i generate the corresponding war file , eclipse generates a smaller than usual file (usually it has 1.9 MB, but when it's smaller, it has 1.3 MB), which causes defective behavior of my project.
Do you have any idea or any solution to this problem?
I tend to believe it's a bug , but maybe i'm doing something wrong.

OK, I narrowed the problem down to a DNS issue. If I set the adapter to obtain automatically, these site work fine. If I set to use specific IP and DNS, these sites fail. Anyone have any suggestions?

I believe you can accomplish this by setting up separate user profiles for each of you on your Mac (System Preferences>Users & Groups (click the lock symbol if locked and provide the administrator name and password, then click the "+"). That should allow you to sign into separate iCloud accounts and maintain separate iTunes libraries within your respective user accounts.

Wait... why is this up i thought, I thought I did everything like I suppose to to succesfully switch it to me, the new owner... but now its asking for some C******@yahoo.com.... I only have @gmail.com emails and none start with a C... The guy sold me the phone because he was switching to Verizon, and I tried to call him, and now the number is disconnected... I guess he switched to Verizon with a new number... Now im stuck with a paperweight that costed me $200.00... What can I do at this point... Please help me... New eMachine w/Windows 7 and HP f1703 monitor problem

Truly fed up at this moment, and not really tech savvy, but will try to be brief with problem:
Had an HP Pavilion a767c which came with f1703 monitor - purchased around 2005 or so ... ran great, no problems, monitor functioned beautifully. Had some storms come through area about 2 weeks ago, lost power several times, a767c started acting up (shutting itself off at night, but would come back on ... finally died, went through all the diagnostics, yesterday decided to purchase new controller, got an emachine at Best Buy, want to use HP monitor).
About a minute into boot, f1703 changes from a "starting Windows" message to a "PC video resolution setting out of range" moving message ... never comes up to Windows desktop screen. If I plug in an older CRT type monitor, everything comes up fine. Have checked Control Panel, shows emachine hooked up to generic monitor ... found resolution settings, they are set for the 1280 x 1024 and made sure was at 60 Hz. Just went through the diagnostic procedure here on HP for message during boot ... do not get any OSD when Menu button on monitor pressed ... I don't believe we've EVER pushed/accessed this feature in all the years we've had the monitor ... so I'm stuck at this point in going through diagnostics.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Dave, so sorry, but telling me my monitor is "VGA only" really isn't helping my confusion (original post did state I'm not too tech savvy). I had my stepson (who is more tech savvy) work with the link you provided previously to download updated driver info from Intel. Here is a rundown of everything we worked on yesterday with this beast:
As a recap - if I hook up the f1703 directly to the emachine (video port states HDMI on back panel) and boot the machine, get the normal starting boot display and also a "Windows starting" display ... before the desktop screen comes up, the monitor goes into an error message stating resolution not set correctly at 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz. From that point, I never get to the desktop, the monitor is basically frozen. emachine is running Windows 7 64bit.
Pressing F8 during boot will allow me to get into Safe Mode, but in Safe Mode I can't download anything, and I'm very limited in what I can/cannot change.
If I hook up an old CRT style monitor FIRST and boot the emachine, everything comes up normally ... I was able to find the HP f17093 driver in Windows 7 and get that driver set up with the 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz resolution. AT THAT POINT, if I unplug the CRT and plug in the f1703, I can use the computer normally and the display is excellent ... so to my way of thinking, there has to be an issue with some video command during boot that is sending a false signal to the monitor. Make sense???
I hooked the f1703 up to a different emachine (also running Windows 7) and I have the exact same problem ... locks up during boot before desktop screen. For the heck of it, I'm going to try hooking the monitor up to a Sony Vaio laptop running Vista later tonight to see what, if anything, I get with that.
Downloading the updated driver info from Intel really didn't accomplish anything positive ... although the Intel site stated there was updated drivers available, after downloading the emachine had picked up some kind of generic flatscreen driver to use and same issue existed, so that's not what's doing it.
Oh, one other thing: after getting the complete boot on the CRT, then switching plugs to hook up the f1703 I was able to access the monitor's OSD menus ... went through and reset to factory settings ... no difference ... monitor still hangs during boot when hooked up first directly.
Dave, when you said VGA only, are you trying to tell me the output on the video card is not correct for the f1703 monitor? Sorry, I just don't understand the HDMI stuff (what that is in layman's/idiot's terms). Do I have to have a different video card? Adapter?

Problems with new airport extreme

i'm a network admin who has dealt with seemingly every network problem imaginable over the last 15 years, but this one has me stumped. really hoping someone can help me see the forest for the trees on this one.
the problem started last week when i decided to upgrade to the latest airport extreme - replacing my MB763LL/A. In my previous setup I also had an Airport Express on the network that I was using for the 18th stereo jack connected to a stero. the airport express has been unplugged and while it'd be nice to have it working again, i'm not terribly concerned about it at this point.
the extreme has two devices plugged directly into it - an iMac and a sony blu-ray and they both work great.
the wireless is where the problem exists. i thought originally this was the same old 2.4ghz/5.0ghz issue with 802.11n and iPhones, but that doesn't seem to be the case - or i am just really missing something in regards to it.
currently the airport extreme is setup as follows:
- create wireless network
- allow this network to be extrended is NOT checked
- radio mode: 802.11n only (5ghz) - 802.11b/g
- wireless security: WPA2 Personal
- seperate 5Ghz network name is specified under wireless network options.
- currently i have a guest network setup with no security (more to come on this later)
i have an iPad that connects to the 5Ghz wifi and works great and likewise an older dell laptop and a wireless security camera (both 802.11g) work great.
the problem is my wife's iphone (3gs) and mine (iphone4). if i connect them to the unsecured guest network they work great. unfortunately this is a bit of a pain as we use airplay and some other pieces regularly. when i connect to the WPA2 network it will connect, work fine for a couple minutes and then i start receiving timeouts to both the internet as well as anything else on my network. one interesting thing i've noticed is in the airport utility you can see them connect in the wireless client screen, but over the few minutes the rate will fall from 54 down to 1.
i've gone as far as completely restoring the phones to factory original state and reconfigured them manually - skipping the option to restore previous backups.
i've tried various options for the radio mode and this problem persists. my understanding is that in the current mode the iphones won't see the 802.11n since it's a separate 5Ghz SSID and therefore connect via 802.11g. I've tried WPA/WPA2 for the security and that doesn't seem to matter either.
is it possible this airport extreme is a dud? any other suggetions? please let me know if i ommited and details.

I seem to have the same problem you had. iPad, MacBook Air, and iTouch all connect to my airport extreme without an issue all the time. But my wife's iPhone 4s and now my Kindle Fire can't connect except once in a blue moon. Sometimes they see the network, sometimes they don't even if I am right beside the base station. I did the upgrade and things worked for about a day but now the same issue. Am configured like you but found disabling security doesn't guarantee reliable connections either. Very frustrated!!

Severe Windows 7 on Bootcamp problem

Hello. I've had my Macbook Pro for about 3 weeks now, the Mac OS itself is great, no problems there; however, I have installed Windows 7 via bootcamp for specific incompatible games and other things. Now I notice a HUGE problem going on when using windows. Once in awhile, it FREEZES. These freezes are random {it could be something I was doing but i've had it happening while i'm on YT, no YT and just mozilla, or gaming}. The freezes also do different things. It will either:
1. "brick" my Macbook, forcing me to hold the power button down {which I really don't think is good for it} to reset it.
2. It freezes for ~30-50 seconds and it's all dandy again.
During these freezes nothing will move. Not my mouse, no sound, and of course keyboard and the classic ctrlaltdelete won't make anything work.
I've been looking around before I came to ask for help, and some people are saying is a problem with the nVidia drivers that the Mac came with, and I was linked to a guide telling me to download the updated drivers for nVidia. However when I downloaded the drivers {For GeForce 320M} and try to install, it just tells me it can't find any existing drives/destination to install it to. So I tried to also manually go into device and click "Updated Drivers" but it tells me they are up to date. Then it tells me to download something called RivaTune to tweak the performance of my graphics card and it's too soon to tell if that's working.
I'll continue to look around meanwhile hoping to come across a solution. It'd also be nice to get the mechanism behind this to know what's causing it and why instead of just a solution. I like to know how things work Thanks!

Yes, it's a bit hard to follow when the version numbers seem to suggest they're for the same thing. However...
Windows 7 requires Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard and the Boot Camp 3.1 Update.
...pretty clearly spells it out that you need to do exactly that. The drivers on the SL DVD must be 3.0. Which are incomplete for Windows 7 since they were still in development for about a couple of months beyond SL's release. The 3.1 drivers you download are the finished Win 7 drivers, for those Macs supported by the 3.0 drivers on the SL DVD.
I'll ask the hosts to look into it and see if they can verify. As I mentioned earlier though, later releases of Snow Leopard may already have 3.1 drivers on the disk. That's probably what you, I and everyone else would like to verify.
Edit: The easiest way seems to be just to install Windows 7 and then whatever is on your SL disk. Once that's done, you have the Apple Software update app in Windows 7. Run that. If you need the 3.1 driver update, it will tell you. If not, the 3.1 drivers were already on your SL DVD and you're done.

Car kit problem HFU-5 control box

I recently installed my car kit for my nokia 6230i and it worked great no problems.... now my radio is on constant mute and the phone is not connecting up when I put it on the cradle.........any suggestions

The car kit may be frozen. Try disconnecting the power to it for a short time to reset it. That may work. If it is too difficult to disconnect the power, disconnect the car battery instead.

VGA to TV problem

For about a year, i have used an external display with my ibook G4, an LCD TV. I have used a miniVGA to S-video cable that has worked like a dream, zero problems. Suddenly today, I started my computer up as normal, but the external display appears black and white and static-like, like the resolution is wrong. So then I tried changing the resolution. I tried every resolution offered for the display but I either got a black screen or flickery black and white, sometimes with many tiled images of the screen. Help!

I called Applecare about this and they said it was most likely a problem with the miniVGA adaptor, rather than with my laptop. This seemed counter-intuitive to me--after all, the problem seemed to be a setting on my laptop.
Still, I bought a replacement adaptor, and it turns out Applecare was right. The new adaptor works great. Problem solved.
So, if your adaptor is under warranty (IE, less than a year old) take it back to Apple and get a replacement. Otherwise, spring for the $30 (or whatever it costs in the US--it cost me UK £15) and replace your adaptor.

Flex3/air calling functions in embedded swf problem

i'm a newbie to flex so i'm hoping there is going to be a
simple answer to this problem. it's caused a massive headache!
i have been using a swfLoader to load a swf, then triggering
function calls within the swf from flex by using the following in
the script tag of my mxml

where loadMP3Player is the function in the linked swf and
myMP3player is the id of the swfLoader.
this works great, no problems... but when i change the code
so that the swf is embedded, rather than loaded at runtime the code
above gives a
"ReferenceError:Error #1069 Property loadMP3Player not found"
error
when i try to trigger the function.
i have tried many different ways of referencing and embedding
the swf, all have the same result. i.e. swf loads fine and the flex
project compiles without errors, but i am unable to call the
function. see the code snippet for my details.
any help will be really appreciated.
btw: i need to embed the swf as i am distributing the
finished article as an air app.

Problems with the Headset SBH80 of Sony

With OS X Yosemite ver 10.10.3 (14D131) The Headset SBH80 of Sony distorted like speakers being played too loudly or blown out, but this distortion is present at all volumes levels with the headset. The problem is less present when someone speaks softly.
Someone has the same problem?
In the same form this Headset has problem with other devices of Apple like iPhone 6 iOS8.3 and Mini iPad2.
When I connected it with other devices different of Apple sound great without problem. Only with Apple's devices has the problem, why?

1) factory reset
if that does not help
2) format the mass memory.
before doing factory reset, please do back up your of your personal data to a memory card or Ovi suite.

Problem connecting to DB after DB restart

I am using Oracle9.1 and WLS 8.1 sp6. My application runs fine and is able to connect to database and everything looks great.
Problem starts when for xyz reason database is stopped/down, say for maintenance. My application gets exception as expected. But even after restarting the Database, my application keeps getting the exception "SQLException: Closed Connection", which does not make sense.
Can anyone please help?
I am using WLS Connection Pool. I access the database through JDBC and get the connection using a DataSource that I have configured on the server. The driver is oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver.
This is how I get the connection.

Solstice X.25 license problem?

I installed Solstice x.25 on an Ultra 1 (Solaris 7) and installed the license key using lit.
When I try to start the network using x25tool, I get the message similar to "x.25 is looking for a license server, still trying" followed by network has been brought up. I then do a Link Status from x25tool and it says that LAPB is connected and normal. Shortly after that, however, I get the message that LAPB is down and the x.25 license was lost.
With past installations, I have noticed that I ususally get a confirmation message that a valid license has beem found. The only time that I get this confirmation is when I run the x25netd script manually. Do I have to put x25netd in my startup. I thought the x.25 install would have taken care of this.
Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem solved.
License info in /etc/SUNWconn/x25/x25_9.1.lic,x had different port number from combined license file. After port number was changed, to match the port in the combined license file, Sunlink now finds a valid x.25 license!
