DO YOU THINK, LIKE ME, THAT THIS LOGIC 7.2 UPGRADE IS A BIG JOKE ???
i was working on nuendo before switching to mac because the hardwares problems were too complicated on pc's, and now, now, i have the....SOFTWARE problems, UPDATES problems, MAC OS X 10.4.XX problems, What's going on here, DO I REALLY SWITCH TO APPLE ????

how many of us have actually used any of the apple loops that came with logic as a great whizz-bang feature ever in a professional production? if any of us have i'll bet they won't admit it.
i tell you what - there had better be some serious bug fixes and updating of inadequate features or this forum is going to turn into a deluge of extremely irate pro users. i believe i have been a voice of moderation and perspective since i have joined, not willing to go too hard on developers of what is an extremely complex application until they have had time to really settle in at apple.
£700 should also pay for features that have been adverstised and don't work properly yet....ok then, ok, ok, we'll pay for your updates provided they really do fix the problems. it's a bit cheeky but we are PROFESSIONALS, its all tax deductible anyway. it does seem though we are paying for a whole bunch of stuff we don't want though...
i suspect they don't talk about what bugs have been resolved because their marketing guys are telling them that it gives the impression there are lots of problems with the program. ok, ok, fair enough, though i do think putting up an announcement here on this forum really wouldn't hurt. those who post here are generally pro's who will spread the word amongst other pro users who don't.
if we don't get our bug fixes, i propose a concerted attack on apple, through letters, editorials in music magazines, and deluging this forum with (by now) justifiable ranting.
you could argue that we are consumers, we could just take our business elsewhere. unfortunately it is not as simple as that. we make our living from this software and it represents not just an investment of money (actually it's chicken feed considering its what we use to make our living) but also an investment in TIME. it takes a long time to get to the level of proficiency on logic that allows us to create competitive music and adapt quickly to the demands of the markets we work in. simply switching apps presents a massive effort, but there will come a time when the attitude of support for people who depend on this program for their livlihoods will drive the necessity for change.
apple will lose its standing as a creator of innovative software and hardware for serious professional users to that of a gimmick shop. you know, like a record label-made teen-pop band whose members have been chosen for their ability to look "hip" rather than for any intrinsic musical talent.
