A query Transport from test to development

Hello,
I want to transport a query from the test server to te development one. How to do that?
I have create the order but i cannot specify that the target is the test server, how to do that? When i do the se10 transaction, my order appear in "local modification" and so i cannot transport it, can you help me please??
I want to do that because I have done a mistake in my query in the development area and so i would restore the first version of this query (the version that i have already transport in the test server)
Thanks a lot for your help,
Regards,
Julien

I doubt there will be a transport path setup between your test and development server. Ask the basis guys. If the path is setup then you can double click on the transport request number and change the target server.
Otherwise, if the basis guys are your friends then release the transport and ask them to import the request in development and the query will come in. bare in mind some settings has to be done before you release the transport. the basis guys will walk you through that.
Hope this helps.

  • BEx Query to be transported from Production to Development

    Hi All,
We have got an unusual scenario in which we have to import/transport few Bex queries from Production to Development environment. I understand this is not a best practice, but any one suggest the way to implement the same.
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi Jay,
For every transport which moves a transport route is configured in transaction STMS (Transport Management System). Ideally it is Dev --> Qal --> Prod. Usually we do not have access to this transaction as Basis Team Configures this route. Check once in transaction STMS (if you have access) that whether the route Prod --> Dev is configured or not (i doubt it would be).
In that case you can raise a request to Basis to configure this route for this exceptional case, if they agree then Transports can be moved via this new configured route.

    Hi All,
I am going to migrate from Windows 32-bit to unix 64 bit. I am using hyperion 9.3.1. I dont know, how to migrate from windows 32 bit to unix 64 bit.
I want to migrate Planning, Essbase and Shared Services. This is the first time, i am doing the migration. Please guide me in this situation. Its very urgent for me.
    My Doubts
    1) What are the files(In planning, essbase and shared Services) i have to copy for the migration?
    2) What are the steps, i have to follow during the migration?
Please guide me in this situation. If u have any documents for migration, please share with me. This is my mail id : [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Lakshmi

    Hi,
I am doing the migration for Planning. I am following the below stepts for migration. I am stuck in the middle.
The below are some steps to use in Migrating .
    1. Create a new database on Production RDBMS Server for your planning application.
I created a new database (MIGRDB)
    2. Configure a data source on Production Planning Server.
    I configured the datasource
    3. Create fresh planning application on Production Server and Ensure the admin is the same as your planning application on Development Server.
I created the new planning application in developement server
    4. Go into the database tables for the planning app on Production Server and look at table HSP_USERS; store the SID value against user 50001.
How to find the SID for the new database? Here i want to replace the 50001 with new database sid value(step 1 - MIGRDB)
Please guide me in this situation.
    Thanks,

  • Automatic transport from test system to QAS

    Hello,
It has been discused here already, but I have to place this question again. Is it possible to schedule a background job every 10 min for the import to QAS to speed up the process instead of doing this every time in the schedule manager?
Nevertheless there is only an option to schedule daily, but I want it every 10 min!
Thank you very much for any help.
    Petr

    Hi,
Did you succeed scheduling the backround job for importing your requests from project. I guess, it would not be possible, the reason is, the variant for this job is generated by schedule manager. Moreover, SAP doesn't recommend scheduling a backround job for this import. The reason is to take utmost care of what you import into your production system.
    Hope this helps.
    Feel free to revert back.

  • Transporting an object from testing client to development client

    Hi,
This is Sekhar . My question is
If i transported an object from development client to testing client .After transporting object to testing client i got a bug so that ABAP developer should work on that and how could i modify that bugs in testing client .Is it possible to modify in testing client? Is their any reverse transportation from testing client to development client?
please give me reply for my question.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sekhar Rao

    Hi Ankesh,
    You said that
"        If there is a bug then make appropriate changes in DEV and transport the object again.
Reverse transports are not needed and such paths are not created.   "
I am asking that my object is in TES client and i need it in my DEV client again to make appropriate changes for bugs i got.then what i had to do.
    please reply  me

  • Transport of portal pages from Production to Development

    Hi,
I need to transfer the portal pages from from the production server to development server. I did see references from Development to Production but not vice- versa.
Can anybody please help me with this? What are the best practices?
    DEP :- SP19 and PEP - SP9.
    Thanks much,
    Dharmi

    Hi,
    The best practises are :
    1) All the Portal Servers in the System Landscape should have the same version, same support package and patches.
    2) You should never transport from Production to Development, it's always the other way round.
Why do you want to transport something from Production to Development ? We always develop somthing, test it and then trasnport it to production. Any modifications to be done, should be first done on the Development Server, tested and then transported to the Production. I don't see a need to transport content from Production to Development.
Anyways, if you want to do so can you always create a transport package on Portal Production Server, add those pages to the transport package, export the transport package. You may save this transport package on the local system or you may copy this from the export folder of the server to the import folder of Portal Production Server. Then on the Portal Developement Server import the file. If you have saved the transport package file on your local machine, then while importing select client, browse and then import the file from your local machine or else select server -> browse -> import folder -> select the transport package file and import.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Sunil

  • Re: Info set and query transport under same request number

    Hi,
I would like to know the details about info set and query transport from development to quality using SAP Query:  Trnasport tool.my quesion is,
Can i create all info sets and related queries under same request number or will it be created in diffrent request numbers? Please respond any body to my question.
    Regards,
    Suresh Kumar.

No it is possible as per SAP.
    Please read follwoing help-
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
It is talking abou the Special Features of InfoCubes in InfoSets.
For queries based on an InfoSet with an InfoCube, the system decides at runtime whether aggregates can be used for the InfoCube. This is the case if all the required InfoObjects of the InfoCube exist in an aggregate. The following InfoObjects are required:
The key figures of the InfoCube selected in the query
The characteristics of the InfoCube selected in the query
The characteristics required for a join with other InfoProviders in the InfoSet.
Furthermore, as a prerequisite for using aggregates, all the data required by an InfoCube must be readable using logical access. For an InfoCube within an InfoSet with InfoCubes, it is no longer possible to read part of the data from one aggregate and part of the data from another aggregate or the InfoCube itself.

  • Web Template Changes not visible after transport from Development to Test

Weu2019ve run into a problem doing web development in BI 7.0 that I suspect someone has seen before and may quickly be able to point us in the correct direction.  Changes that are made to web templates in the Web Application Designer are correctly transported from development to the test environment, but we are still seeing the old version of the template when the report is executed.  We are able to see the web template changes in the Web Application Designer in the test environment.  We believe this is a caching issue and have cleared the query cache and the HTTP cache in SMICM.  Unfortunately, this has not resolved the issue.  Can you suggest another approach to resolve this issue?

Not sure what you mean by browser cache.  We have deleted history, cookies, and all temporary Internet files.  The issue isn't limited to a single user, but exists for all users.  Through extensive testing we have established that you are able to see the web template changes in test in the WAD(Web Application Designer) after they have been transported from development, but can only view the changes when the web template is run for the first time.  Changes to existing templates can be seen in the WAD in test, but are not seen when the report is run.  The old version of the template appears to held in cache somewhere, but we haven't been able to find it and clear it.

  • Transport query from test system

    Hi
We want to create our BEx queries in our test system and thereby transport them to the production system. We don’t want to create the queries in the development system because we don’t have any data there.
Scenario: create a query in the test system, then use Transport Connection in RSA1 to put the query into a transport.
When we try to add the query to a transport, we have to put it into another package then $tmp. We are not allowed to do that and we get the message: System setting does not allow changes to be made to object ELEM A5S4UZE…... We have set all the settings in Object Changeability (in Transport Connection) to Everything Changeable. Do we have to open the test system using se06 and scc4 to be able to transport BEx objects from the test system to the production system?
    We use BI 7.0 SP15.
    Kind regards
    Erik

    Erik,
It's all much easier than that...use xml.
Go to the transport conection in your test system.
Note the xml export import icons.
Select your query under object types.
Export as xml..it will create a file that you can store in your PC.
    Go to your target system.
Execute an import of your new xml file. That's all...now you have your query in P..and you can forget about all the STMS and requests, etc..
    Regards,
    Alberto

  • DataSources transport from development to QA TESTING???

    Hi Gurus,
I developed some objects in my D system using a generic extractions. I used 3 DataSources .
Ii transported all my SAP BW object in the testing system. now I need to collect my 3 DataSource  in the R/3 development System to the R/3 system. Please can anyone show me the steps. I tried all day but no result. Please help me, I need the steps.
    Thank You Gurus.

    Hi
You are using Tbales, so collect Table if it is Z/Y table, if it is SAP table then not required.
1.Collect Tables and DataSources in request and transport from D ECC to Q ECC.
2.Replicate DS in Q BW system.
3.Collect InfoObjects and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
4.Collect Cube/DSO and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
5.Collect Multiproviders if you have any and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
6.Collect Transfer/InfoSource and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
7.Collect Update Rules and Transport from D BW to Q BW.
8.Collect Reports and Transport from D BW to Q BW.

  • Transport qualifications from test server to development server?

    Hello,
How can I transport qualifications (or any other object) downwards, say from production or testing to development?
    Thanks.

    Hi Dave,
You should need a custom program to transfer the objects from production to development / testing. We have to use RFC function modules to get data from other systems.
    Thanks,

  • Transports from development to Test/Production

    Hi there,
While transporting objects from development to QA or Production, is there any way we can change the the name of the target staging database. For example, if TableA is the target table going to stageA database and when i move this object from development to QA or Production where staging database has a different name. So how can i handle this..should i have same database names in all the environments Dev, QA and Prod? i know we can do it manually changing staging database name one by one for each object but  how can we handle it if we have hundreds or thousands of objects?

You should setup and use multiple configurations on a single datastore. The whole point (well, almost the whole point) of the ability to setup multiple configurations, pointing (typically) at different databases, inside a single datastore is to be able to re-point a dataflow at a different database without recoding.  To "transport" from dev to QA, for instance, is as simple as either changing the default configuration of a datastore (from the dev database to the QA database), or making use of system configurations, which are just named sets of datastore configurations, which are, then, picked at runtime (or when scheduling a job). Of course, your schemas need to be essentially the same between environments.
    Best wishes,
    Jeff Prenevost

  • Restrict Tester from Setting "In Development" in U'gent Correction

I do not want my tester to set the action "Set to In Development" in my u'gent correction. This should be the developer. However, if a test fails I need the tester to set the action "Reset status to In Development" to flag that testing failed and there is further action required in development.
Unfortunately taking away or applying the authorization key SDHF_01 to my Tester role will only let us do one or the other of the above.
    How can achieve my scenario?

    Hello Solmaniac,
I hope you re doing fine!
I think Rajeev's opinion on this is more than correct.
I dont see any other Option that requires only customizing than his. Maybe this 'middle status' (that rajeeb proposed) can have an automatic action to set status to 'In development' so it becomes more or less transparent for final users.
I mean action of tester will directly go to status in development whereas status of tester will go though this new status
I guess there are also other options you can choose but those ones require some coding
    - adding a new attribute in BUS 2000116 (subtype) to check which user has the right to do which action (like an attribute that ll tell you if the current actor is a developer or a tester) and display actions accoringly
    - or use a badi to create a ZHF_SET_STATUS (for PPF Action) that will not only check authorization key for status to reach but also roles assigned to user to distinguish developer from tester.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Khalil
