A script for sharing LPD printer preferences

Hello,
I just setup a LaserWriter 8500 for TCP/IP printing using LPD/LPR and a specific IP address in Mac OS 10.4.
Now, however, I have to add this printer to a plethora of computers, and I was wondering how one would create either a script or a .PPD that would replace my current manual installation (which requires changing the model type, manual name change, printer optional settings, etc.) on each office computer.
I know I am asking a lot, but a 'one-click' solution would just rock my world...for at least a day.

copy two things:
/etc/cups/printers.conf [=the printer list]
/etc/cups/ppd/ [a folder of the PPDs that match the list]

I need sharing scripts for social media buttons (Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, FaceBook). For example, hovering over a button produces a tool tip ‘Share this site on Google+’ and clicking the button pops up a login window, or similar.

How do we enable cutter option in the SAP Script for Zebra Label Printer

We use Zebra Label(ZM400) printers to print the material documents(SAP Script). Could someone please tell me how do we enable the cutter option in the Zebra printer for the SAP Script?

Hi Manoj,
In Script you dont want to add any logic for Label Cutter, It should be in the Zebra printer settings if the printing is over it should cut the paper. If the print area is predefined for your material label then you can make use of standard label papers (Like 2"x4", 3"x4"....)

Would this connection scenario work for sharing a printer?

I work from home and my HP LaserJet is on it's last leg. My office computer is a an old Dell Optiplex - no wireless capabilities and my computer locks the PC down quite well so even installing a USB dongle would be out of the question. Hence my question.
I was thinking of buying the Airport Extreme plugging my Samsung SCX-4500 into the Airport. The Airport would be plugged into my DSL router which the office PC is also. Would I be able to use the Samsung from the PC even though the PC is not wireless?
I know my iMac would be able to get to it but I don't want to spend the money for the Airport as my HG2700-D has wireless built in.

Yes a scenario like that is possible as long as you configure the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) so that it acts as a bridge or the PC is connected to one of the AEBS's LAN ports.

In smartform Utilities --> Migrate SAP Script Name --> Give your scriptname and below give your Z smartform name and then migrate it

Script for printing using alternate layout in Word

I am relatively new to Applescript, but have a basic understanding of commands, etc. I am trying to write a script to print the active document in MSWord in draft quality. I often print large volumes of docs for quick reference but do not need high quality output. I am simply saving ink. How does Applescript access the printing preference settings? The Word script library obviously has no specific commands for the print dialog options, and I don't see any applescript commands to do it either. Since printing is handled by OS X, not by Word, I assume the commands will rest outside of the Word tell block?
Any help would be super!

Can't find "Look for shared libraries" in the Sharing pane of iTunes preferences. How can I find it?

I am trying to set up Home Sharing between my computer and my wife's. Sharing keeps disappearing from the side bar although Home Sharing is turned on for both computers. Using the Help tab it says to check the "Look for shared libraries" in the preferences/shared box. The problem is that "Look for shared libraries is not there to select. Any ideas how I can sort this out?

I'm having a similar issue even after the "Shared Libraries" box is checked in General preferences on iTunes...
On early verisons of iTunes i had no problem with sharing or remote access via iPad. I really need to figure out how to get this working.

U Can check Driver program and form related to that program table is TNAPPR
Goto NACE t.code
Selct Application ---> click on output types
then u wil get one window there select proper output type and
double click on processing routines u wil get form name and related driver program name also

I'm trying to find the VB script for changing the "Check Links Before Opening Document" checkbox on the File Handling panel in the Preferences dialog? I haven't found any documentation referring to the Links items on that panel.

I have an old document from CS2 days that is invaluable for providing a detailed list of available script methods and properties. Obviously things that have been added in subsequent InDesign releases aren't in this document. Later InDesign CS releases offer script SDKs that contain helpful sample scripts but I don't find a detailed summary similar to one from CS2. Have I just not found them? Or how does one find the script method/property for things not contained in the sample scripts?

Script for printing changed pages only

Does anyone know of a script that will allow the printing of only those pages that have had changes made to them since a previous save? I'm a typesetter doing work only on books and journals and sometimes it's a bit tedious to keep track of the individual pages one works on. thanks,

Here is a raw code. All you need to do is edit the script to specify the printer preset you want to use. I don't have a printer my self to debug but I think it should work.
Here is the idml to grab the object styles. Don't forget to apply on objects located onto the pasteboard. The script look for these objects and grab the page name next to them to finally print these pages.

How to find Printer preferences in Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac?

Does anyone have an idea where or how to access the printer preferences or dialog box through Elements 8 for mac? I have an Epson R2880 and am trying to access the printer preferences to be able to change the paper type, print in B/W or choose different things. I am able to access this on Elements 8 for Windows but not for Mac, does it exist or am I looking in the wrong place?

After you click Print in the PSE print window, the OS X print window appears. You may need to click the arrow to the right of the printer's name to expand the dialog box to see the menus, but you'll find the paper/ink settings in the pulldown menu in the middle of the larger window.

Need script for batch Open/Flatten/Outline/Print Preset/Close/Repeat

I have an Action created that I use in batch mode on deadline day to flatten my artwork, convert text to outlines, print to our press' desired settings (output to postscript file then distilled from there), then close without saving.
The problem is even tho tho the Action has a step for the desired print preset, I still have to use the dropbox and select it, then click Print to get the action going again- if I take out the icon where it stops the script to wait for my input, then I get a "Can't print the illustration. The Color Mangement settings are inconsistent" error.    So I use the dialog icon to use the drop down to select my desired printer.
From there the action has a 'Close' step where I get a question asking me to Yes or No to save the file.   I want to always answer No to the question as I want to preserve the file from being flattened and outlined- I just want the copy to be.    The action will not save the No answer to that question.
This forces me be at the computer and select the printer, click the print button, then answer 'No' for ever file in the batch.   I have to do this for a few hundred files- its a process that takes over an hour.
I think I need a script or some help with the Action so I can get up from the chair and walk away while it does it for me. I've posted here before years ago but got no response. I've been dealing with what I have.
