A total operations story

Hello, is there in OS X Tiger a way to register a story of everything I do (run applications, copy, move and delete files and other objects, install applications, etc...) with date, time and a small description of the operations?
I'm thinking about something like the Photoshop story register.
If not, is there a freeware utility somewhere?
Thanks.

Hi, drywood.
The closest thing that comes to mind is to use a keystroke logger, such as Spector for Mac OS or TypeAgent. Spector offers features beyond keystroke logging, but is more expensive.
You can investigate other possible solutions by searching MacUpdate or Version Tracker. The user-submitted reviews accompanying the listings can be helpful in sorting the wheat from the chaff.
Good luck!

  • To find Total Operating Expenses , what are all G/L Nodes to be added

    Dear Team,
I have got requirement to find to Operating Profit Margin Ratio Using ABAP report, I have searched for formula in forums
    I got the formula.
Operating Profit Margin Ratio = Operating Profits /  Income.
::Operating Profits = Gross Profits - Total Operating Expenses.
but i have calculated Gross Profits Value & Income value.  I am getting problem to find Total Operating Expenses.
In our Balance sheet they maintain "Direct Operating Expenses"
                                                             "General Administration Expenses"
                                                             "Financial Expenses"
                                                             "Depreciation".
To find  total operating Expenses what are all i need to add to find it, please forward ur valuble feed back to me.
    It would help me.
    Thanks in advance..
    Urs,
    Vinay

in the operating expenses you shall not consider the "Financial Expenses", because they are not caused by the operative part of the company.

  • Total operation hours in routing

    Dear Experts,
Please suggest me what is the way to tackle the following scenario :
We are having 3 Work Centers say WC1, WC2, WC3 to carry out the different operations. Each work center requires 6 hours. It means if I use the standard sequence then total required hours will be 18 hr to produce 1000 pcs of FG X. But My client is producing 1000 pcs of FG X in 8 hours as second operation at WC2 begins when 1st operation on WC1 is being carried out on some quantity say 100 pcs. 7 same for the WC3.
How to control this situation as I am using the lead time scheduling in MRP run, this data gets coppied to planned order giving wrong finished date.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Dear,
In Routing work center is maintain for an operation and each operation has different base quantity or production rate.
Work center      Operation detail                Production rate
    W1                    Operation          1                 200 Each/Hour
    W2                    Operation          2                 100 Each/Hour
    W3                   Operation           3                  90 Each /Hour
Now select first two operations and go to operation detail, In detail find a radio button Overlapping required and mark as required.
    For first operation
Now maintain Minimum overlap time 30 Min
and send ahead quantity          100 Each.
    For 2nd operation
Now maintain Minimum overlap time 30 Min
and send ahead quantity          50 Each.
I hope this will solve your issue.
    Thanks

  • Process Order operation scheduling duration calculation

    Hi
We have following formula has been maintained for processing time calculation in resource.
    Machine * ( Operation quantity / Base quantity / Operation splits ) + Setup + Change-over
As per above formula for following procee order qty and time, SAP caulates time.
    Opeartion qty - 100,
    Base qty - 100,
    Op split - 1
    Machine - 0.5 hrs (30 Mins)
Processing time calculated as 30 mins (.5hrs)
When I schedule the process order with same resource for same qty and machine time, processing time is calculated as 33 mins. We dont have maintained any floats in scheduling margin key in material master. We dont have any wait times also.
Can you please let us know why process order operation is having 3 mins tolerance? Any idea where such settings has been maintained?
    Any pointers will be helpful.

    Hi Mangalraj,
    Thanks for your reply.
We have not maintained ay reduction levels in OPUZ for plant and order type combination.
In resource, we have 2 hrs break time and total operating time is 18.50 hrs.
I got following SAP help link for calculation of duration for processing time.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/b1/c04387439a11d189410000e829fbbd/content.htm
Is processing time is calculated based on following formula.
Processing time u2013 Calculated Processing time * (1+ (Length of break / Operating time)
Can you please correct my understanding here?
    Thanks in advance.

  • ALV tree, total show sign

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2144751/untitleda.JPG
    Hi,
Here is my problem, In the example above I already set no_sign = X to the field catalog to the method set_table_for_first_display after display the alv tree, I set no_sign= ' X' because the client does not want any sign in the detail, but in the total yes the sign, So what i want is set sign property just for total, but no sign for all items.  Or maybe another option.
    My class is cl_gui_alv_tree.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

    Hi Jose Maria Otero,
Thank you very much, but I think that's not an option because if I change the values (multiplying by  -1) the total is going to be wrong, remeber that total operation is "standard" so it sums the values as they appear, so the total will be wrong.
    Thank you very much.
I know there is the option, that I program my own total but, I think is not the best option beause is a dynamic alv tree.
    Regards!

  • Dead powerbook with operational hard drive: how to extract the data?

I've got a very old (2006/7) powerbook which cannot be powered on; the battery is dead and can't be charged due to assorted catastrophic power issues. I've long since replaced it so I'm not really interested in resurrecting it on a long-term basis.  Is there a way to get the data off it? I'm aware I'd have to physically remove the drive.
So far the only instructions I've found online are for getting data off a crashed hard drive, but that's not the problem here. The hard drive is totally operational, it's just that the computer it's located in cannot be turned on.

I bought one of these HD adapters http://tinyurl.com/7455nek to get the files off of an old PB G3 hard drive. Worked great and a reasonable price.

  • Remove totals when drilling down

    All,
I have an Operating Statement style report with Total Revenue and Total Operating Expenses and then a Net Operating Income Total that sums the two sections. However, when I drill down the hierarchy of accounts I end up with totals that are repeated several times. For example: when I drill into an account "Provision for Doubtful Acounts" to the lowest level under Total Operating Expenses I get the lowest level account's amounts, then Provision for Doubtful Amounts Total, which is the same, Total Operating Expenses, which is the same, and Net Operating Income Total, which is the same.
This gets to be super repetitive. Is there any way to make it so when I drill down some of the subtotals fall away so that there is only one total?

  • CS5 Freezes While Starting Up. Can anyone help?

So I have had Photoshop CS5 for a few years now and about a week ago the program started to become slow and would sometimes freeze up while using the brush strokes, regardless of which tool and drawing utensil I used (mouse or tablet). So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but now the program won't even start up! It starts and then gets to the "Initalizing..." part then stops and freezes, forcing me to close the program by force. I have uninstalled and reinstalled over and over again but with hardly any luck. And the one time the program did fully "run" it quickly froze and again, I had to close it by force.
I have installed the latest drivers for my computer, an ASUS G46V
    It has a Intel Core i5-323M CPU @ 2.60GHz
Memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.89 GB usable)
64-bit Operating system with a x64 based processor
and is running on Windows 8.1
Any help is appreciated. I have tried running Photoshop with and without the tablet but it always had the same results. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and I have run the program as an administrator.
I also downloaded the free version of CS2 and the same problem seems to be appearing...which makes me think this might be a computer problem, but again, I need help with this. I rely on Photoshop for my art and I have commissions to do and finish. So I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible.

Yes you did were you honest when you agreed with the terms there? CS2 is not Free.
The serial numbers provided as a part of the download may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products.

I have worked with brush sizes and it slows down for the large brush sizes regardless of the size of the canvas, but unfortunately I have a unfinished commission on a pretty large canvas, and resizing it not only freezes the program but it causes the picture to loose quality in looks. So I have tried all that.  And this is a problem be cause this program literately just randomly stopped functioning properly. For months it worked fine with little to no problems, and then it just suddenly getting issues.
I only see lag with large tipped wet mixer brushes when I paint on image where I viewing actual pixel.  Its a totally different story when you paint view fit on screen when you canvas size is large.  I looks like Photoshop is painting the millions of pixels on the larges canvas tile by tile and scaling the tiles theo the zoomed out scalde dowv image its displaying for you to see. You not seeing the actual image being painted..

  • Production order overlapping with purchase orders for outside process

I set up the overlap option in a router so we can send 50 pieces (total order quantity is 200) of material ahead to an outside heat treat operation.  When we try to create the purchase order for the 50 to be sent out for heat treat two problems occur.
    1. The quatity in the purchase order is for the entire order of 200, not 50.
    2. We get a message "Date /23/2010 period D is not valid.
We currently do not use the functionality of splits and overlaps so if anyone can help or guide me to a good resource I would appreciate it.

If anyone could help with this question I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

    Gail:
the next operation would be an external operation in your order ? That is, has some external Operation Control Key?
Then the PurReq for this operation is created at creation or release of the production order by the total operation quantity. Ovelapping allows you to reduce some total time in order, but I don think that can be applied for the purpose you describe. Let us know more details about your requirement.

  • Need to create a virtual server and give its access to another admin

    Dear Sir,
I am a new admin and have 5 Blade server "HP ProLiant BL660c Gen8".
I access these servers through HP enclosure.
I have to install Hyper-V on server 1 which consisted of the OS windows server 2012 R2 Datacenter edition.
I created a plan to create 5 Hyper-V VM's on the physical server and I requested the IT department network Admin that I want these 5 VM's to able to connect to each other.
The network Admin created a Trunking configuration on the physical server and after this setup he provided me Hyper-v node IP address and 5 more IP addresses for the 5 Hyper-v VM's.
Now it was left to me to Add the Hyper-v role and create 5 VM's.
While Adding the Hyper-V role, I was asked in the middle of the setup to add the network adapter for
    connecting to external network.
I went inside the network connection settings and I see one network adapter "Microsoft Multiplexer"
which had the IP address of the Hyper-V node which was given  to be me by Network Admin.
    Besides this I found following Network Adapter: (Mgmt,Trunk):(Mgmt A, Trunk A);(Mgmt B, Trunk B) =Total
6 Network Adapter out of which only "Mgmt" was configured with the IP address of the Hyper-v node given by my Network Admin. Remaining all other Network adapters IPV4 configuration
    was unchecked except "Mgmt"
So I selected the "Mgmt" connection while Installing the Hyper-v role
SO I chose this Network connection for adding the Hyper-V role.
My question: Did I chose the correct Network Adapter.
After doing this I created a VM-1 and tried to assign the IP address given by the Network Admin. But the network Admin did not provide me the default gateway so I used the deafult gateway according to the IP address and used the last digit as "1"
    like a general installation.
Now my question is: 1.How can I use this VM to be used as a Virtual server?
    2. I would like to open this VM through my browser by entering the IP address of this VM-1. How can I do this?
Because I access my physical server through the IP address. SO in the similar way I want to access this VM-1 through the IP address
OR is there any alternate way to access this VM-1 separately.
My Requirement: I need to give VM-1 access to another admin to Install his application on it. SO how to give him to access this VM directly?
    This is my main query.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ahmed

Jawin, Jacob, etc.. are fine for creating COM clients but COM servers is a totally different story. I suspect you'll either have to write your own JNI or get out your C/C++ compiler.

  • HELP Backup didn't work. Can't open folder in Time Machine

I backed up my macbook pro before I sent it in for repair. Less than a month later I had to do the same for my wife's macbook pro. I backed it up the exact same way that I did mine, using a usb connection to a 2 TB hard drive that was already set up as a Time Machine drive (half time machine/half file sharing). When I got my computer back, no problem. Numerous backups that I had done were all there, ready to be harvested. My wife's backup is a totally different story. Her computer was replaced for a new one. I got it home and tried to use the Time Machine backup when I first booted up the new Pro. But the folder labeled "Wife's Macbook Pro" is lokced and will not open. The error messege says something to the effect: "This folder is locked. Contact your network adiminstrator". I am completely lost now and really don't want to have to deal with the wrath of my wife if I don't have to. Any help is much appreciated!

I apologize for stressing the point, but, again, can I ask why you're trying to go through Time Machine to get to your Reunion files? From your first post, it sounded as though you recovered everything from your backup (presumably you used the "Recover from TM backup" option when you installed the new hard drive?)
Does Reunion run normally when you launch it from your Applications folder (forgetting about Time Machine for a minute)? If so, do you have your current Reunion data somewhere in your Documents folder (or wherever you stored it before?) If not, and you believe you still have Reunion files in your backups, you should quit Reunion itself, then go into the Finder, go to the Time Machine interface, and locate your data file. Not the Reunion application, the family data file. Then recover that from the backup.
Again, the reason you're seeing what you're seeing through Time Machine is that TM is not "aware" of most applications (ie, you can't just launch any app, go to TM and expect that app's data to appear in the interface). It works for Mail, Address Book, iPhoto and the Finder. It's the Finder you're experiencing when you're going back in Time Machine, not Reunion itself. You just happen to be looking at the Reunion icon when you do so.

  • I found my baby.. from XP to Linux

Hey Archers, I have only begun my Linux journey about a few months ago after hearing about "Linux Mint" from a guy at Fry's Electronics. I installed Virtual Box and tried it out. It was very nice as everything worked out of the box.  I then began an adventure of "distro hopping". LOL
First I wanted to figure all of the Linux terminology like kernel, desktop envinronments, package managers,*-based,distro & because there were so many, it confused the hell out of me. I then googled all this stuff & realized alot of the content written about it was from years ago, I narrowed down the search to only search things from the past year & have found that "Ubuntu" was #1 at distrowatch.com.
Then I searched for Ubuntu (gaw I hate the name) & seen that EVERYONE was using it. I was like "dang, it must be good~!!"... tried it out... WHAT THE HEK~!! distro sucks LOL ... okay not that bad but I was a power user coming from Windows XP (skipping Vista/7 entirely) & I was expecting more. Everyone was hyped about "eye-candy"... who cares~??? I was looking for simpliciity, functionality, useability, producivity you know what I mean, not graphics, 3d icons, shadows and crap like that. I could care less about that stuff. I wanted to see applications like were ACTUALLY USEFUL & PRODUCTIVE.
Hopping around, I land on Debian because I was familiar with the Debian-based distros. It felt super obese & slow. I tried Fedora. Doesnt play(or they dont support) mp3's & did not want to familiarize myself with something other than "apt-get/deb". I tried MEPIS, was fine, nothing great, but while I was on MEPIS, I was searching more on Google, I found out about "rolling release". This intrigued me alot. Basically I do not have to install everytime an upgrade comes around. MEPIS was not a "rolling release" so I removed it. So from that point on, I was looking for "rolling release" distros only. I then found Sidux. I did not try out Sidux. Just looked at it. Meh.  I then narrowed it down more to Independent-based/rolling release only. The final were PCLinuxOS, Arch Linux & Gentoo. I was reading Gentoo about how great it is. But more about "how LONG it takes" & "how OFTEN something breaks" prevailed more than anything relating to Gentoo.
Then I checked out PCLinuxOS. I heard good things about it, nothing bad at all. The only thing I did not like was that it was "RPM-based". Dangit. Tried it out in VirtualBox. It was cool, reminded me of MEPIS. But I just don't know. I was looking for something~!!! Something.... like.... I can mess with.... but not too much... like Gentoo.... which is "overkill" as they say. I was very interested in Gentoo, but after reading ALOT OF UP-TO-DATE stories about how loooong it takes... I just don't got that much time on my hands. LOL. I wish, otherwise I would've dove in already. But I work full-time, school full-time, dance practice(bboy), football practice, got a honey, etc etc.... even though I am like one of the few in my family that is SUPER -I.T. oriented. They come to me when Windows XP messes up LOL. But I definitely chose to become a FOSS (yup, learned the terminology, I know what it means lol) person. Saved all my information on my external HD's & installed Mint. From there, to here now.
NOW.... ArchLinux on the other hand... was a totally different story...... I googled and googled and googled and googled (actually did that for EACH distribution I wanted to try out) about Arch Linux.... And no matter what the date was about the google search results, the answers in forums, blogs, comments etc from any party (debian people, gentoo people, fedora people etc) I NEVER heard anything negative about ArchLinux (at least in all of my million google search results. LOL. Okay I am probably super exagerrating right now, but seriously... the positive outweighs negative (if any) by a mile. reading about how unique the package manager is really got my attention & just cuz it says "pacman" LOL is just sick. Independent-based.Gentoo refugees jk, but Gentoo converts to Arch. ArchLinux is the true Linux experience. Not hard to install at all. I heard stories about "oh its hard to install ArchLinux" but then the answer always comes back "Documentation".  Look at the wiki and it blew my mind. It covers EVERYTHING IN THE DAMN WORLD, from how rocks were made to.... anyways, I feel overly-comfortable with Arch. I am going to make a shirt with "pacman -Syu".
Anyway, installed in VirtualBox & it was finally the OS/distro I was looking for. Simplicity with an abundance of apps, endless possiblities for tweaking, homebrewed package manager unqie to anything else,rc.conf (No other distros have this~???), just something that was mine~!! Like, other distros, idno... just doesn't feel like it's yours~!! But the way Arch does it, it's flawless. 3 thumbs up.
Ladies & Gents I believe the unfaithfulness is over.(ie. the distro-hopping has ended)
Some stuff to back me up which I agree %1000 percent~!!
Shazzam6999 wrote:One thing I love about Arch is the simplicity, which at first sounds odd because of the installation process, but really makes sense when you think about it. You build your own system, install only the packages you want to install and set them up how  you want them set up. Config files can be intimidating and confusing at first but once you get used to editing them it actually becomes much simpler than editing something that requires  you to have to navigate through fifteen cryptic windows just to find the one setting you want, in fact I'm a little intimidated by changing settings without a config file, although you can take that route too in Arch. At least for me Arch is the perfect combination of simplicity, usability, and customization.

Look, many of us came from Ubuntu. I used Ubuntu for almost 3 years. Initially I was happy with it, but near the end I kept distro-hoping, looking for something else. Somehow, somewhere, I was unsatisfied. I eventually gave a try to Arch, and was immediately seduced. It was all I was looking for. I've stick to it since then (over a year now).
Give it a try. It's gonna take some effort on your part during the first few days/weeks, but it's well worth it.

Another thing is the init system. I never quite understood all these /etc/rc.* things and how they are configured correctly. There are some hacks like the rcconf program, but nothing compares to the simplicity and sanity of rc.conf + /etc/rc.d/
Anything that comes from the Archlinux project is simple and fun to use. Try building a sane package for debian - that's the opposite of fun.
Try building a package for Archlinux: Write a pkgbuild and it just works.

What I like to do is install arch really quick to update everything, install, download, and compile what I like, and I am done. Everything takes no more than three or four hours to get set up and working. Once everything is up and ready, I no longer never ever need to play with again, but occasionally I do anyhow because I think of projects like "Hm, I wonder how do I do this..." or whatever, but mostly usually little programming projects instead that I eventually never end up finsihing anyhow because I get caught up with real life situations...

    The Variance % formula I'm using is: @VARPER("Final"->"Actual" -> &CurrentYear,"Budget")/100;
This % formula equals 100% for most accounts, but is 200% or 300% for other accounts
What am I missing? Many thanks in advance

    Jake,
I'm a newbie, so I'm not sure what you mean by cross-dim. I didn't write the formula but it's up to me to figure this out. Yes, I do want to compare budget data to same year actual data.
It is dynamic. A sample retrieve for -200% would be Total Operating Revenues:
    Actual = 2,404,789
    Budget = 2,117,250
    Variance $ = (2,117,250)
    Variance % = -200%
A really crazy one is Benefits Rollup:
    Actual = 66,353
    Budget = 73,817
    Variance $ = 73,817
    Variance % = 500%
I appreciate your help very much.

  • Possible to use 2 AEBS to remove the 802.11g bottleneck?

I have a Sony PS3 and lately I have noticed when playing Call of Duty 4 that I will see an enemy, shoot them, they don't die, they shoot me, and I'm dead. Upon replay, they see a totally different story. They see only me coming around the corner, no shots fired, and they have an easy shot.
I have Road Runner and consistently get 14.5-15Mbit down and 750Kbps up. I am connected from the modem to my AEBS, and then 802.11g from that to the PS3. I've opened ports on the airport, restarted, etc... nothing seems to fix it. I am thinking that the latency from going from PS3 to AEBS to the game server may be the issue??
The AEBS and PS3 are 2 floors apart, so running a gigabit cable between them isn't an option - but what about getting another 802.11n AEBS and hooking the PS3 up to that via gigabit? So the network would then go cable to AEBS -> 802.11n ->AEBS ->gigabit ethernet ->PS3
    Would this help, or hurt?

This might help but it's difficult to say without knowing absolutely where the latency was occurring. You might consider moving the PS3 temporarily just for testing purposes to see if you can reduce latency by plugging directly into the AEBS. If that works, then it's reasonable to consider adding another one. You would also need to make sure that you didn't have any G devices connected if you wanted the best results.

  • My ipod touch 4th generation no longer holds it's charge for more than 40mins,needs new internal battery but I have no idea how to go about this. i love my ipod and don't want it to loose power completely, can anyone help?

My ipod touch 4th generation no longer holds it's charge for more than 40mins from full power, think it needs a new internal battery but have no idea how to go about this and am no longer covered by my guarantee. Can anyone advise me on what's best? Thanks in advance

Using the battery level meter in this manner is comparable to using your car's fuel gauge to calculate miles per gallon. The only thing that matters is the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown.
Use an Apple wall-mount charger.  Do NOT use a computer's USB port.  Then, operate it normally until auto shut-down (ignore any low level alerts that may appear).  An irony is that doing that test to determine the total operating time is also the exact procedure necessary to calibrate the battery level meter.
I'm not claiming that you do not have a problem.  I am stating, however, that we don't yet know whether or not a battery problem exists.
    According to Apple:
    Use Your iPod Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
Elsewhere, Apple elaborates and explains that two half-discharges (or four quarter-discharges, etc.) equals one full discharge.
