A75MA-G55 Ineffective GPU clock

Checked out the IGPU clock tool in BIOS and saw "Ragne(I guess it's misspelled) 400MHz - 2000MHz"
I jiggled and put it into 2000MHz and booted, worked perfectly.
Now thinkin' I broke a world record in GPU overclocking I put it into a test.
Furmark done checking temperature and score. Exactly the same as stock frequency. That couldn't be true, it should be atleast 3 times the stock performance.
Later on 3dVantage Performance preset should be more honest, well exact same score as I get on stock. Made me think that the overclock feature is ineffective.

Anyone else tried the same and got same or different result=

I tried A8-3850 on 150MHz BLK and play Dead Island, no problems(In fact it was smoother than ever!). League of Legends... everything went in slow-motion and speeds up randomly similar to a overly spec'd HD-TV. I think it's depending on game when overclocking a bit too much. (But damn 150MHz on 1.376v is pretty damn impressive, GJ MSI engineering team!)
Ya, it works fine for some games/apps(SC2 works great) but with BF3 it does weird stuff similar to what you are describing.  If I put it at stock clock it runs bf3 fine.

  • Problem with Bios 2.0 MSI A75MA-G55

    hello, I need help ....
A few days ago I did the update the BIOS of my MSI-A75MA-G55, which is 2.0 and he has presented problems. It has a processor (AMD A-8 3870K) before trouble could overclock to 4.0GHz, but now it goes from 3.6ghz: (... By increasing to over 3.6ghz pc does not start and I have to clear the CMOS for reuse ... the second problem is with the GPU hd6550D now I can not run any game at medium quality such as "far Cry 3" or "Bioshock Infinite" and before if I could .... the previous BIOS version was the V13 or 1.3 which everything worked.
The characteristics of my pc are:
    - MSI Motherboard-A75MA-G55 (MS-7696)
    - 3870K Processor A-8
    - 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1333 (667MHz)
    - Hard Drive WD 750GB 64MB Cache
    - Thermaltake CLP0575 Frio OCK
    Thank you in advance ...!
Sorry do not know much English ...!
Note: I did a BIOS flash, with the tool provided here, to downgrade the BIOS version and I could not because at the end and restart the PC had always the same version.

As the problem is only bios related from your report tell MSI about it so the issue can be fixed: >>How to contact MSI.<<

    * There is no way to reflash back to BIOS version 1xx if you already updated to version 2xx

  • A75MA-G55: Lab Burst Mode temp sensor bug

Me and a friend were on a quest to find the best BLK frequency on stock voltage and finally arrived on 153MHz to be the max possible on stock voltage.
We went some benchmarking on 7-zip, GTA4 and wPrime without problems, only we can't measure the cpu core temperature because of that no software can't give us an honest result.
Then our heads came up with an idea, howbout 2hours Prime95 then quick reboot and check temps from Bios.
2 hours later quick reboot, enter bios and there we almost passed out... CPU temperature: 128 degrees Celsius but case temp on 27degrees C.
We left the system off for 3 hours then checked again from a cold boot, 128 degrees C again! then we changed to default settings and there we go 25 degrees C, we switched back to LabBurstMode and temperature showed us again 128 degrees C.
Maybe this was a planned Helloween trick from the MSI team But this have to be looked at.

I checked the changelogs for the standard BIOS release series of the A75MA-G55.  There are two references to "Lab Burst Mode".
The first appears in the changelog for the E7696AMS.138 [v1.3b8] release:
    - Change setup item "Enhanced Spread Spectrum" to "Lab Burst Mode".
The second reference appears in the changelog for the E7696AMS.139 [v1.3b9] release:
    - Fixed Lab Burst Mode always enable when OC more than 133Mhz successful then load default.
    That tells us three things:
    1) The option should be available be available in the E7696AMS.130 final release under the name "Lab Burst Mode" and as "Enhanced Spread Spectrum" in all final releases before that.
    2) The "old name" for that option suggests that it has to do with "clock modulation" (because that is what Spread Spectrum generally does).
    3) Spread Spectrum probably may need to be enabled first in order to get access to the "Lab Burst Mode"/"Enhanced Spread Spectrum" option.

1866 is a multiplication of something. Do not set it to 1866!!
I do not know your motherboard, but your processor would probably like something that add up to 1333 MHz.

  • RAID support level for A75MA-G55 mainboard.

Do you know if the A75MA-G55 mainboard supports RAID5?. If it doesn't, do you know if MSI is planning on adding that feature in the near future?. Thank you very much!.

According to the manual only RAID 0, 1 & 10. We don't have any idea what MSI does or doesn't have plans for, we don't work for MSI we are users same as you.

No need to clutter up the beta thread with final releases when it is readily available at the MSI Global Website for the mainboard; http://eu.msi.com/product/mb/A75MA-G55.html#/?div=BIOS
Don't use Live Update. For flashing, use the forum's USB Flashing Tool found here, along with instructions how to use it; https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=108079.0
Like I said earlier, I can't download the 1.3, it says my bios is the latest. And if MSI could be sweet and put a download link instead of pointing to Live Update.

In my notebook I have Core i3 4000m with HD4600.
When i run gpu benchmark gpu clock goes to 1100MHz (it's fine), but if my system is in IDLE, gpu clock is 600MHz (it should be 400MHz).
I tested it with driers 3345 too and problem was the same.
    How to fix this?
Log from GPU-Z, i was waiting to my system hibernation (screen is off after 5 minutes): http://wklej.to/Tol36
After I bought the notebook I run Bios Update Utility, may its the problem, but on Lenovo site there is only one version of BIOS (1.02-1.04) - I have this version now!!
    How to repair this??
I have balanced power plan turned on, but tried witth power saving too!

    halo?
now have Windows 7 x64 with latest Intel gpu drivers from lenovo drivers site and situation is identical.
(I see thinkpad power manager says that gpu is on 150% (400*1,5=600), so it isnt gpu-z problem)

  • R7870 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC "instability in gpu clock"

Hello Friends. My name is Fernando, I'm in Brazil, my friend bought this video card on newegg, and sent it to me quickly, received in 20 days.
In the first game, I realized that the games were not smooth, but walking into punches, as if between 25 to 60 fps constantly.
I tested several other games and the same thing happens, so I decided to monitor the GPU-z and reached the verdict.
In GPU Core Clock, there is a constant variation between 450Mhz ~ 1050Mhz, it all the time in a second. In game never gets in Full 1050Mhz.
Another thing I noticed was the VDDC, this crazy, there is a large voltage variation is as if some voltage regulator was faulty or ready to quit funionar soon. It ranges from 0.825V to + - 1.6 or more, he has this instability with the GPU Clock ...
I have another video card HD 7850, and this board, this variation does not happen when I'm in the game, the GPU Clock is always at 100%.
I was sad because I was very anxious for this model from MSI, is there any bios that might fix this!?
    Thank you.

Do you know someone that has another PC with a strong enough PSU where you can test the card on ?
What GPU did you use before ?
Bernhard, I did this test with R7950OC now, see the difference, the clock's are stable, as with the HD7850, now with the R7870, is taking small punches slow during the game, I believe it may solve if any bios more current ....

I have A75MA-G55 mobo, windows 7, latest realtek sound driver but sound doesnt work. When i choose /hardware and sound/sound panel/ , there are PHONES, REPRODUCTORS and DIGITAL SOUND icons, but only DIGITAL SOUND (SPDIF) works. Other two icons are gray and there is written something like "not connected".
note: i had same problem in windows XP and i solved it with disabling autodetection of connected devices (phones, repro) in realtek audio panel. But there is no realtek audio panel in windows 7.
    please help.

sounds like you haven't installed the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver  so here is the download Page for them http://www.msi.com/product/mb/A75MA-G55.html#/?div=Driver&os=All just select the OS you have and download the drivers as that contains the Realtek control panel too.
that should be installed and do a reboot after installation and you should have control over them again!

  • Flash Player 10.1.53.64 changes GPU clock

I installed Adobe Flash Player 3 days ago. Every time I watched something on youtube.com and closed my Opera my monitor gets black for something like 1-30 ms, really short. I know if something like that happens the clock of my VRAM was changed. So I opened GPU-Z and tried to get the same situation. I figured out, that the clock settings change to default while watching a video, and after closing the browser they change back to my settings. It happens ervery time. I think it's, because of the GPU acceleration in Adobe Flash Player 10.1. It also happened with Firefox. My graficcard are overclocked, but that is no reason why Adobe Flash Player should set the clock settings to default, no software should do that by default.
    My hardware:
    CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2,66Ghz @ 3,33 Ghz
    RAM: G.E.I.L 8 GB DDR2 800Mhz 4-4-4-12
GPU: 2x ATI Redeon HD 4870 Crossfire
    GPU clock settings:
    - GPU: 800 MHZ/ default 750 MHZ
    - VRAM 1000 MHZ/ default 900 MHZ
    MB: Asus Rampage Formula X48
    My software:
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    Browser:     Opera 10.53
                      Firefox 3.6.3

Same problem here! Actually took me quite awhile to figure out what the hell was causing the slight screen flicker when going on Youtube, but I'm confirming this. With Hardware Acceleration enabled, Flash changes GPU Memory (VRAM) frequency and locks it so that it can't be changed until the video page is closed. Mine downshifts from 950 down to 500, which is quite of an achievment as for some reason this card with it's fancy schmancy GDDR5 memory isn't too keen on underclocking the VRAM..

  • GPU clocks stuck at maximum

    Hi
Can someone explain me why GPU clocks (core/memory/share) stuck at maximum level on my Quadro 140NVS?
It doesn't happen all the time. Just from time to time I have a feeling clocks shoud be lower while they are at "performance" level.
When GPU is not doing any serious stuff these clocks should be lower I think (there are 3 levels).
    See screenshot
Laptop: T61, Core2Duo, 3GB RAM, Quadro 140M NVS with latest WHQL 267.76 drivers.

I definitely know it should not be occurring in Safe Mode so you could try going into Safe Mode and back again to normal mode to see if anything changes.  Supplying a DirectX log would be helpful as I'm curious to know the specifics of the audio hardware you are using.  It would seem to me that drivers or other conflicting software you already have installed may be the source.
Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit). Run dxdiag.exe (Start - Run or Win key +R) then press enter or click "OK". Once the diagnostics completes, "Save All information..." to a text file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.
    (i.e. compress DxDiag.txt ---> DxDiag.zip)

  • A75MA-G55 AMD A8-3850 overheating?

    Hi,
I have a ZT systems PC computer (CPU AMD A8 3850), which has a motherboard A75MA-G55. Months ago, it more and more shutdown itself suddenly. I changed a larger power supply (450 W). It had no problem for 2 months. Now, it shutdown again recently. I feel the heat sink is hot when the problem happens.
What step I can do to remove the problem? Any diagnostics procedures? Or, change to an effective heat sink?
    Thanks in advance

Has the heat sink ever been cleaned?  It could be full of dirt causing it to overheat.
The heatsink does not have dirt. I have changed a 460 W to replace the original 360 W power supply. It was better for a couple of months. I find that when there are more windows open, it will shutdown suddenly. Recently, when I run a computation for 1 hour, it will shutdown suddenly. I can feel the heatsink it very hot. I find that it has much lower temperature when I lower CPU frequency to 2.6 GHz and DRAM frequency to 1033 MHz (I only try to set these as a newbie). The new problem after these BIOS changes is that it cannot sleep under Windows 7 OS. I need sleep function. How can I get right settings to lower CPU while with sleep function?
Does anybody know the BIOS setting tutorial ?
    Thanks,
