AAMEE 2.1 MAC fails to start properly
Has anyone seen this? I just got the Contribute 6.5 media to package up... AAMEE 3.1 doesn't do it... so i download AAMEE 2.1
I find a clean Mac 10.7, tried 10.8 even tried 10.9, clean Macs... without any AAMEE on them.
Download AAMEE 2.1 from the Adobe Enterprise site...
Mount the disk image, double click Install, enter your password...
Adobe Application Manager is in the menu bar and on the dock, BUT... No dialog window to begin packaging ever appears.
I ask my coworker Brian to try, same result.
What are we doing wrong?

Edit: Looks like every mac i tried it on was dirty with another version of AAMEE or Adobe software... the cleaner i tried never seemed to fix this, but then creating a new VM and running it in a virgin environment seems to work... so nothing to see here, just a boy with dirty tools.

Please delete OOBE folder from this location and try downloading AAMEE 2.1, it should fix the issue.
/Library/Application Support/Adobe

Hi,
I've EBS Installed on my laptop with release 12(base release) on Linux Virtual host. When I tried to up the Application Tier Services; the services are not properly started. It seems to me that OC4J is not getting up proerly. Kindly help me in resolving this error.

from the above logs I can see that OC4J is not properly being up along with form services. when I look at the logs of adoacorectl.log, it gives following output:

Mac won't start properly afer upgrade to 10.5.1 - Hangs on spinning ball

After upgraing to 10.5.1, It hangs on loading finder... og takes an awful lot of time starting (4 hours and counting)
I get a messagebox telling me that OS X has rebooted improperly, and do I want to report or Ignore. Neither of these works.
What can I do now, I can start applications from the dock, but these also hang after loading.

Reset Pmemory.
Started the machine holding the left-shift button down, I guess I entered single user mode.
Reinstalled the complete update from a USB mem-stick, containing the complete update, and not the small, that came with system-update.
After this, all is well.

Mac mini cannot start properly sometimes.
No response at all. No LED, no Sound.
But if I disconnect the Power Cord for couples of days, it can start again. The clock is set to the default time.
Anybody know the reason? Battery of the motherboard?Assuming that when you do get it to start up, other than the time all else works as it ought to. That would be pretty solid symptoms of a dead PRAM battery. Its not all that expensive to replace, and if the machine is more than 4 years old it is good preventative maintenance anyway.

Web Application services failing to start (Foundation SS, Hyperion Admin)

In my installation recently my web applications are failing to start properly. I'm following the start order and allowing services time to come up, but they are still reporting an error.
1. OpenLDAP starts fine, and quickly.
2. Hyperion Foundation Shared Services - Web Application will not start. It fails each time (as does Hyperion Administration Services - Web Application) with the same error message in the logs (see below).
Nothing has changed on these servers in a long time. Any ideas?

I navigated to D:\Hyperion\deployments\Websphere6\profile\config\cells\hyslCell
and replaced the old security.xml file with a non 0 kb file from backup and restarted the services and it corrected the issue.

HP M8300f fails to start, shuts down when running
I have to frequently use system restore because it fails to start properly. When running, it frequently shuts down (blue or black screen). From what I have learned researching on the net, there is a known issue with the motherboard on this computer.
I purchased two HP laptops that have also failed before their time. Apparently a known issue with overheating. I wish I had known before I bought them. They both failed a year ago. Now the desktop is failing.

I will never again purchase an HP computer or device of any kind. Ever. Nor will I recommend them to any of the people in my circle of friends or at the Fortune 100 company where I work.The same problem to me. In just over a year, mine started with these freezing problems. After many tries with customer support, none of which provided me with a clue I gave up.Then I found the motherboard's capacitors were kind of bulged. Bad quality boards I guess.

Power Mac G5 fails to start up with Airport Extreme card in.
Hello.
I just received a 'new' Airport Extreme card for my Power Mac G5 1.8 (900fsb). I just installed it and it failed to start up with it in. The mac started up but without my Apple LCD and any USB devices. I did a PMU reset on the logic board and took out the Crucial 3rd party 512mb RAM and tried again but it won't start up. When I take the card out it's business as usual.
Is it the card or the mac that's at fault? Has anyone had this problem too?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.This problem can happen if:
- the card has not been fully seated into its socket (doing that can take a firm push) or if you installed the card upside down
- the card is defective
- the card socket in the PowerMac G5 has broken or bent contact pins

If you are sure the card has been properly installed, you are gong to have to either (a) try a different Airport Extreme card or (b) let an Apple dealer or service center take a look at your PowerMac G5. -
KeyAgent and the Mac HAL services failing to start at boot camp install
After installing windows 7 x64 with boot camp on my 2008 macbook pro, I went to install bootcamp with my leopard disc, and it wouldnt install properly. At the end KeyAgent and the Mac HALservices failed to start. Then when the computer restarted after install, the computer still acts like boot camp wasnt installed

Mac Book fails to boot properly after EFI Firmware 27 update

I have a strange boot issue having (tried) to install EFI 2.7 update.
When I restart the laptop, it 'chimes', displays a grey screen ... then chimes, displays a grey screen , ... for ever
I hit the bower (off) button for 5 secs or thereabouts, and restart ... same thing
I do this 4 times and finally it reboots.
But the EFI update still appears as needing to be installed (software update tells me it is not installed). Update history shows however that it IS installed.
I can go through this process any number of times ... I now have Software Update history showing quite a few installs opf the EFI 2.7 update.
If I just do a restart WITHOUT installing, I also go through the same fail to restart / fail to start / ... / eventually restart sequence.
So it seems now that the laptop will only start after 4 failed restarts and finally it starts ...
After starting it all appears to be perfectly fine.
Nothing strange in the console logs that I can see. The failed reboots don't seem to register in the console logs - I suspect that the failure to restart is pretty early on in the boot sequence, well before it tries to load any semblance of the OSX kernel. It is almost as if it is trying to boot from someplace other than the disk ... until eventually it gives up and tries the disk. (I have tried booting with and without network cable - no difference) I don't know enough about mac bootup sequences to know if there is some config/setting that is screwed up causing this odd behaviour. I sirt of feel it must be setup/software related, but could be wrong.

- chrisI have a MC721LL/A early 2011 15.4" MacBook Pro i7. After I installed this firmware update my Mail would not load saying the version I was trying to start was not compatible with the OSX version (not sure whether this was an OSX update issue which I think I did at the same time). But the biggest problem I have is that I cannot boot my machine. It boots to the Apple logo and then emits 3 beeps repeatedly. I am on vacation in Osaka, Japan and the Apple Store here told me after running some analytics that the logic board is not seeing the RAM. After reseating the RAM multiple times (both original and replacement DIMMS), it still won't boot. The Genius Bar guy said very nicely that it is out of warranty and needs a new logic board, costing over $500 and taking a week at the factory. He recommended spending the money on a new MacBook instead. Since my machine is 15 months old, I am not very happy about this. The machine was absolutely fine before the firmware upgrade. I will wait till I get back to the US and get a second opinion from my local Apple Store. I can't accept that a 15 month old MacBook Pro very lightly used can develop such a catastrophic failure.

The latest version of iTunes did not install properly on my Windows 7-64bit PC. I am getting the following error message: "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:
Restart PC
Uninstall iTunes and attempt to reinstall
Verify that I am signed in as an administrator
Download and save iTunes64Setup file, right-click, and run as Administrator
Disable Norton antivirus software

ColdFusion 8 Fails to start after update Java for Mac OSX 10.5 Update 4
I have been using ColdFusion on a Mac for years. Now CF fails to start after I updated Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4. I usually start by typing in the terminal window sudo /Applications/ColdFusion8/bin/ColdFusion start.
There is a crash report but I don't know how to read it. See attached.
Please help, I need this working for my job.

CF will not start. I have the activity monitor open, and when I start CF you
see it in the activity monitor for a few seconds as it starts up. When the
message process is completed in the terminal window CF disappears in the
activity monitor.
Any suggestions?

Hi, Colin,
My apologies but I forgot to ask 2 questions: (1) What kind of Mac you have
(Intel or PowerPC)? (2) What version of CF are you running and what installer
did you choose (8 or 8.0.1, 32-bit, 64-bit, etc.)?
To start, try the following:
1. Normally you'd shut CF down first ... but that's not necessary for you
2. Open Java Preferences again
3. Select Java SE 6 and move it (drag) to the top spot in both section (Applet
Plugin and Applications)
4. Open Terminal
5. Type java -version (you should see 1.6.0_13 as the new version)
6. Try to start CF again
This may not work (I've had issues with it) but it's technically how it's
supposed to work. With the Java Preferences utility, you're visually setting a
default JVM (you can do it with commands in Terminal but this is much faster
and easier).
If CF still won't start, look for the jvm.config file in your CF application
folder (try /Applications/ColdFusion8/bin or
/Applications/ColdFusion8/runtime/bin -- the latter is where a jvm.config file
is on my machine for a particular version of CF that's installed similar to
yours). You can override the JVM in this file but, hopefully, that won't be
necessary!

Getting "sync session failed to start" message when trying to sync iPad to Mac
When i connect ipad to Mac and click on sync, which it has been doing automatically, now it doesn't and i click sync and get message "sync session failed to start". Any suggestions? Thank you.
Keep the connection, quit iTunes totally and re-start iTunes again.

If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.
