ABAP Database must be started on remote server

Hi.
I've installed a dialog instance on SuSe linux with the central instance and db (Oracle 9.2.0.8) running on the same AIX server
The installation was ok but from the DI it is not possible to connect to db. i've made a R3trans -x and below is the trans.log file

here it is written that maybe someone has set the invalid values for DIR_LIBRARY. we have upgraded the Oracle 10.2 to 11.2 & only changed in the scripts with values having 102 to 112 (/oracle/XIP/102_64/lib) to /oracle/XIP/112_64/lib) . i have again copied these files and changed it again and also checked the permission of these files & environment of sidadm also.

Not able to start the remote server - class not found exception

That's a remote exception coming from the registry. You need to learn to recognize remote exceptions and their source, it's a mjaor source of confusion in RMI.
In this case it's the registry that can't find the stub class.
The stub class needs to be in the CLASSPATH of (i) the Registry and (ii) the client as well. Ditto the remote interface; ditto any application classes it refers to, and so on until closure.
The easiest way to achieve (i) is to start it in the server's JVM, with LocateRegistry.createRegistry().

I can not start a remote server via Node Manager

There is a workaround to this problem. The issue seems to be
that when the node manager tries to start the managed server
it can not find java.exe in the system path. So please go to
Control Panel->System->...->Environment, and modify your PATH
system environment variable to include the java bin directory
in it.
Then try using the node manager again to start the managed
servers and you should have no problems.
We are aware of the issue and working on having a fix for it.

ABAP Trial version u2013 starting the application server

Hi,
I have a problem starting the application server via the management console. After choosing action ->start I have to enter user and password. Do I have to create a new user password combination, use the OS password or try bcuser and minisap? None of these three options worked out. I always get the message 'Start failed: 2 Invalid Credentials'. Or went there something wrong during the installation?

In my case I installed ABAP Trial version (also known as MiniSap) on my local machine (Windows).
When I turn on the machine, my Windows(OS) requires a User/Password (It was configured this way but it is possible you configure to not require a User/Password, it uses a default).
When I instaled the ABAP Trial version, I logged on with a User/Password with administrator rights (it is necessary for installation).
When, in the "Management Console", I start the ABAP (the "NSP" node), it asks me the user and password and I use the OS User/Password that I used to install ABAP Trial (above).
If you are doing the same I don't know why the message "Start failed: 2 Invalid Credentials".

Is it possible to start a remote server from the IDE?

I would want to know if it is possible to start a domain that makes reference to a remote server (from the IDE). On this way I could start and stop the server without loading so much the machine that I use to develop my portal applications. If it is possible how I can do it?

There is no personal Information on a crash Report unless you put something personally identifiable in the comment field. For example, here is a crash report I had on my machine awhile back: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-1de8924f-7068-4702-a410-89c492121220.
You can go to about:crashes in your address bar, and click on the report to view the info there to satisfy yourself that there is nothing in the report. But submitting crash reports is very useful because it gives us the ability to view what crashes are plaguing our users and what we need to fix.

DB2 database doesn't start on FailOver server in HA

Hi Experts,
We have a sap cluster under AIX 6.1 and DB2 , during failover the database may not able to start.
is only hold on
db2start <-- waiting more than 3 hr no and reply.
db2stop <-- waiting more than 3 hr no and reply.
db2stop force <-- still cannot kill the db2
db2_kill <-- still cannot kill the db2
But when I restart the AIX again (shutdown -Fr) , then the db2 work
fine ( no any problem )
Could you advise how can I solve the db2 the issue ?
p.s. we had checked other failover case is no any problem
e.g.
1. move cluster service using smit cl_admin
2. remove the network cable physically
( problem case )

Log on to remote server and start database -error while installing CI in HA

Hello All,
We are installing ECC 6.0 with High Availability using HP-UX. We have completed installation in ASCS and Database Instance. Now when were trying to install in Central Instance, we encountered an error at Start Instance which informed us to Log on to remote server and start database. However the database is already running in DB node. Please find the log below.

ABAP Database not starting

Hi All
We are installing ECC 6.0 with ABAP and Java stack on AIX ,DB2,its a distributed system with CI and SCS on one host and DB on another host.
When we are trying to start the central instance on CI host during the installation its giving message :

ABAP Database is not available via R3trans
Starting SAP-Collector Daemon

Thanks. I just reinstall the software and did not have issue. Maybe the issue was caused since I was trying to configure Weblogic running on Window 2003 as admin server and Linux as my remote server.
Here is how I got it to work. I reinstalled software on the Linux box and used Linux box as my primary server with admin console running on that and window 2003 as my remote node.

Export the database schema / structure to a file server

I would really appreciate if any of you can share your experience on the following:
Database-1: Oracle 8i/9i and
Database-2: SQL Server v65/7/2000
I am looking for a solution to extract all the database schema/structure to a pre-defined location onto a file server. I wanted to configure this thru CRON job (for unix) and Microsoft Task Scheduler (for Windows). Also this solution should work for all databases (must work with Oracle, SQL Server). The exported file should not be just a dump file (.dmp), assuming only oracle can read .dmp file.
What are the possible ways to accomplish this.
I am sure, several tools would be available to accomplish this (like Embarcadero Change Manager), but solution may not be cost effective. Can we write any program to accomplish the same?
I would really appreciate your inputs.

I am doing this job using bcp command on sql serverwhich create dat file and then transport the file to oracle server in location where I have created an external table.
I belive that there is server level compatability which need no external programe or software. My one fellow told me once and when I got him I shall reply

when system running but power off suddenly
and when power on ->
i am having problem as below when i start instance SAP (Databse Oracle Started)
Step 1 : I login user (ora<sid>) of Oracel to start up database
Database startup -> OK
then i tried to shutdown database -> OK too
and start up again -> OK
Query -> OK
I think Database do not problem
Step 2: start listener -> OK
Step 3: i login user (<sid>adm) and startup instance SAP (command : startsap r3) with error:

Remotely starting the CMS server using a SSH script in a Unix environment.

Is it possible to remotely start a CMS server using a shell script which starts an SSH session and runs the startservers command asin the command below:
ssh -o ConnectionAttempts=2 -o ConnectTimeout=10 -l boadmin huxd0226 '/opt/BO/boxir2/bobje/startservers'
The command securely logs into the server (huxd0226) and runs the command described in single quotes.
the CMS server actually appears to start but then dies inexplicably and displays no errors in the trace logs. The full log file is displayed below:-

This is exactly the same as a normal manual startup of the CMS server except it dies at the loading of the db2databasesubsystem section.
Business Objects is patched to Fix Pack 3.6 and is clustered in a HACMP environment. It is a requirement that when the DB2 database fails, shortly after restarting it can automatically start the Business Objects services remotely.
SSH will work if the command is entered manually from within a secured session, but it is only when automated that the failure occurs. Does anyone have an idea on why this is happening and whether it is in fact possible ?

DW Procedures to connect to MS ACCESS database located on remote server

I am confused about the procedures within Dreamweaver CS3 to connect to a MS ACCESS database on a remoter server.
I am working through a tutorial book, "Dreamweaver 8 with ASP, Cold Fusion and PHP Training from the Source", but the instructions are unclear concerning the procedures to connect to a MS ACCESS database located on a remote server.
The book indicates that the server administration has to create the DSN for you and screen shots indicate that you will result in a list of DSNs to choose from when creating the connections .asp file.
I went through the procedures to create a connections .asp and resulting in a connection without and tables (of course) because I do not initially have any connection information from my remote site.
I have generated the required two lines of code as follows for my MS ACCESS database connection on my remote server:

The question that I have is:

Any advice would be appreciated. I know that this is simple but debugging an error from an ASP coding merge would be a "bear" to debug!

I have not used MS Access myself (fortunately) but I believe it works much like the old, old way of achieving a multi-user database in FileMaker.
That is, it is not a true client-server database but more a peer-to-peer database and that each peer opens the same database file which is available to multiple user via file sharing. Therefore as elikness said it should just be a matter of putting the files on your Lion Server and then sharing that folder/volume using SMB sharing.
However one thing to be aware of, since MS Access is not a true client-server database I would imagine it uses record locking to manage simultaneous direct access to records in the same files. File or Record locking is something that has historically been a bit flakey when using Windows clients with a Mac file server (and probably vice versa).
While I am not proposing it as a solution to consider seriously, it is worth you knowing that FileMaker Pro is a database system that is available for both Mac and Windows and depending on how you configure things can be considered to stretch from a configuration very similar to MS Access at the low end all the way to a high-end MS SQL Server style setup at the top end. There is also a a third-party tool available for migrating databases to or from FileMaker Pro and it can convert MS Access databases to FileMaker Pro see http://www.fmpromigrator.com/
You could use FileMaker Pro just on Windows machines if you wish.
