Abap logic for lookup

Hi all,
I have a requirement where i need to lookup for a value in ods1 and based on that value i should update in ods2. can anyone help me with any abap logic --- is there one for look-up ? any sample code would be really helpful.

the following method will give the ODS table name
CALL METHOD cl_rsd_odso=>get_tablnm
                 EXPORTING
                   i_odsobject   = <ods name>
                   i_tabt        = '0'
                 IMPORTING
                   e_tablnm      = ods_tab_name .
do a select from the ODS table to find whether infoobject A is there and get the value and based on that update ods2.

ABAP - Logic for finding out the active employee

Hi,
I am trying to write the program where i need to set the flag "YES" to active employee for the particular time period for the particular position.
For example:
Row     Employee     DateTo     DateFrom          Position     FLAG

3     1     2.3.2009     31.3.2009          10     YES

Employee 2 gets assigned as of 1.2.2009 to the same position 10 on which employee 1 is already assigned. Therefore, as of 1.2.2009 emplyoee 1 is not anymore the primary employee of position 10. As employee 2 is leaving the position as of 2.3.09 employee 1 gets again primary employee of that position as of 2.3.2009.
Can any1 suggest me the logic for this?

But here the problem is the it is taking the most recent datefrom and setting the flag as yes. How to check whether someother employee is active in the given time period and set the flag as YES? Only 1 employee can be active in the date period given.

Abap Logic for performance tuning not working when using Internal tables

According to the code which you have written, there is no value in table IT_DSO_TABLE when you are trying to read the values.And after the read statement you have given a condition for sy-subrc. Hence the select statement is actually not even getting executed. *Also you have not assigned the final value back to the ResultPackage.*_
So Kindly correct your code as follows:

LOOP AT RESULT_PACKAGE assigning <rp>.

ABAP logic for customer variables

Dear Experts,
I need a code for given screnario.
There are 2 similar cubes under Multiprovider on which report is running.I am not supposed to restrict cube at query level in filters as both cubes are required.Here is an example.
Examples:
1)      The user selects APO Location DE03 in the Variable screen and DE03 has no flag in the masterdata,
 the variable based on Infoprovider does exclude the new Cube STSCAPOR2
2)     The user selects APO Location GR03 in the Variable screen and GR03 has a flag in the masterdata,
 the variable based on Infoprovider does exclude the old Cube STSCAPORM
3)     The user selects 2 different APO Locations DE03 and GR03 in the Variable screen and they are in different cubes (one has got a flag and one is empty)
 the user should get an information that he cannot select/Mix APO Locations from different Planning Areas!
We have a infoobject APO location (/BI0/PAPO_LOCNO) and it has attribute(/BIC/STNEWPLA) which holds a value "1".
Can you please help me with code.

I have requriment to read data from MDM from FLAT and Lookup table using MDM ABAP API. My design is like this ,
I have one ITEMS (Main table in MDM) and inside that i have one Lookup flat table ITEM_TYPE , my requriment is to read Item number and its related Item type.

Retrieve data from MDM using MDM ABAP API.
Step- 1. Create structure in SAP with the same name as that of MDM field code for MDM Main table.
Step-2. Create another structure in SAP having all lookup fields of MDM , fieldname in ECC must be same as that of MDM field
code.
Step-3.Create structure in SAP for individual lookup field(Single Field only)   with the same name as MDM Field code.
Step-4.

ABAP code for BI 7.0 transformations start routine

Hi all,
I am trying to update data from DSO1 (Source1: transaction data) to Infocube(TARGET)
In the transformations Start routine, I have to read DSO2(Source2: Master data) for some fields.
DSO1 has CUSTOMER as part of key
DSO2 has CUSTOMER (key) and other fields....FIELD1, FILED2, FIELD3
Infocube to be updated with FIELDS1,2 & 3 WHILE READING DSO2.
WHERE DSO1 CUSTOMER matches with DSO2 CUSTOMER.
Also, data NOT TO BE UPLOADED into Infocube if FIELD1 in DSO2= NULL
Please give me the abap code for the above logic.

ABAP Logic in Transformations-Start or Field Routine

As i am new to BW Please update me with the ABAP logic i need to implement in Transformation routine...and please advise me wether i can use that as a Start or field routine for a better performance.

Fields (ZLOC,ZPAY_ID,ZNPAY_ID & ZCHG_DTE(date))
While Transfering Data from DSO B-->DSO A
It should check DSO C for that ZLOC & ZPAY_ID
If ZCHG_DTE IS Blank then it should pick ZNPAY_ID for that ZLOC & ZPAY_ID from DSO C and update ZNPAY_ID in DSO A
if ZCHG_DTE IS not Blank then it should pick ZPAY_ID for that ZLOC & ZPAY_ID from DSO C and update ZOPAY_ID & ZCHG_DTE in DSO A
ZPAY_ID - Pay ID
ZNPAY_ID -New Pay ID
ZOPAY_ID -Old Pay ID
ZCHG_DTE -Change Date
ZLOC -Location.
Logic in words:
If Change date is Blank then it should pick new pay id for that Location & Pay Id and update NEw pay id field in DSO A
If Change date is not Blank then it should pick pay id for that Location & Pay Id and update old pay id field & change date in DSO A

It must have something to do with your input variables - I ran this FM locally using my DOB and today's date and it worked fine.
make sure your input date types are in the correct format for the FM.

How To Create ABAP Code For HR Context Sensitive Structural Authorization

Hello,
We have created a HR Custom Program which IS NOT built off the PCH or PNP Logical Database. As a result, we need to manually create ABAP code for HR Context Sensitive Structural Authorization Check in our custom HR program. Via HR Context Sensitive Structural Authorizations, we are restricting access to personnel numbers and the underlying HRP* tables.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated with the identification of the SAP standard function modules (Ex. RH_STRU_AUTHORITY_CHECK, HR_CHECK_AUTHORITY_INFTY, HR_CHECK_AUTHORITY_INFTY , etc) used in HR Context Sensitive Structural Authorization Check, how they are used to control HR Structural authorization (P_ORGINCON), and some sample code.

You can use the interface methods IF_EX_HRPAD00AUTH_CHECK to get the same structural authorization as you can see in PA20/PA30. You need to use the methods set_org_assignment and check_authorization for this purpose. For more information you can refer to include FP50PE21 from line 237 onwards till 270.

     You can't delete the ABAP Runtime errors. But you can catch the errors using catch exception Statement.
For Example,

Abap logic in Transformation End Routine not working correctly

I wrote a piece of code but during testing I found out that it doesn't meet my requirement.
Requirement
I want to extract Standard_Cost for all sales items that meets the conditon. but at the moment only the first sales item in the DSO is showing.
I would like the following lines to display in the cube as well since the PLITEM is different.

Select single will always select the first entry from the source which matched your where condition.
therefore you are not getting all the required data.
WHERE SALESITEM = rp-S_ITEMID AND CALWEEK =
ld_calweek AND PLPLANT EQ rp-S_SOURCE.
according to your logic
it will pick only one record e.g
201021 PI31 REDBACK 999999A 78,850
201021 PI31 FLXAAA 999999A 3154,000
item id = 999999A
plplant = PI31
in this case it will pick only the first record due to select single will fetch only one record (whichever it gets first and which meets your where condition)
You need to change your code logic and need to include more fileds which differentiates one record from another who have same valued as in your present where condition.

Need ABAP code for the below Services requirement

We have a requirement to show all the services for a particular Purchase order number.For this I built a view on 2 tables ESLL and EKPO.Now based on the below logic I need to bring the services for the Purchase order..
1.Enter PO number,item no. and Doc category in EKPO and find the Pack no.
2.Now take the Pack no. of EKPO and give in ESLL and find the Sub pack no.
3.Now take this Subpack no. and Give this sub pack as Pack no. in ESLL
4.This will be the Service entry record for that PO number.
Can any one Please suggest me to how to write the ABAP code for the above logic.

To answer your question specifically
Using ABAP api you cannot call MDM workflows as of mdm 5.5 there are no functions specific to calling MDM workflows in ABAP.If you want to implement workflows on ABAP side you need to go for SAP ECC workflows which is a different topic than MDM>
To call MDM workflows over the Java stack ie WAS (SAP portal),You have 2 ways
- UWL
- Guided Procedures.
- UWL is a way of calling MDM workflows on EP.Wherein the workflow design will be done in MDM and it will only be called in portal using appropiate connections and configurations.

Search Help - logic for getting output.

Hi,
I am trying to create search help for Vendor number field. And input selection has a fields from various Vendor related tables ( LFA1,ADRC,LFB1,LFBK,LFBW,LFM1,LFZA).
If user enters any of the input field values (from the above table selected fields)then need to get corresponding vendor number details from all of the above tables(selected fields from the above tables).
can any one let me know how to compose the logic for this?
1. I created search help and trying to put the logic in EXIT for the search help to get the values.
