ABAP Proxy - BASE64 content

Hi,
We have a requirement to send content in base64 encoded binary form. We have done all the encoding in ABAP and the BASE64 content is available in internal table.
We need to use ABAP proxy to send the data to XI and further to target client via http. The target message have a field called <Data> </Data> and i need to upload all encoded in that field. Is that ok or will the XML be invalidated? I am surprised that the third party asked me to upload in normal field of XML.
What should i declare in ABAP proxy? What is the best approach to send these kind of data in PI?
I have been hearing about something called <CDATA> where it is safe to send data in this as it ignores the content. How do i declare these in XI?
I was told that in normal XML if we add <content encoding="base64binary">then that XML will be parsed without any issues.
Regards
Sam

Hi Sam,
XML will not be invalidated if you upload all encoded data in one field.
Also you can take care of Base64 encoding in PI itself.
Check the below links.

  • How to find contents of ABAP proxy message

we are using an ABAP proxy to send data including a document number from SAP to PI when a document is received on our SAP ERP system.
it is possible under certain conditions that the proxy will not be processed, but the document has. I want to be able to check the messages sent to PI  to ensure that all the data has actually created a proxy message. How can I, if it is possible, find the data within the messages so I can determine if the whole process has completed OK.
Put another way how do we know what data is in a message as listed under transaction SXMB_MONI ? The GUID in this transaction appears to relate to table SXMSPMAST but how can I find the information contained within that message so I can then link the message with the original document and then if necessary call the proxy again for that document ?

The problems I mentioned above seem to have been down to the xml messages themsleves rather than the coding found from Ravis' link however I made a few changes to the code to add more flexibility in the search parameter and also a TRY - ENDTRY to deal with the problem of abends when the SAP cannot interpret the message contents.
please refer to the original BLOG ( Super Message Monitor for SAP XI ) by Alessandro Guarneri at the link in Ravis' post.
I have then made the following changes. Please note that the field names used in my code are slighlty different to the original code to fit in with local coding practice however I think it will be easy for a programmer to interpret the changes

  • Business partner replication using ABAP proxy

    Hello,
I want to send vendor master data records from the MDM to SAP SRM. There is a standard ABAP proxy interface in the SRM for this purpose and this proxy is also being used by the standard PI content for MDM.
Do you have any experience with this interface? I have done some test cases and I missed the logging. In PI I don't get any feedback if the business partner has been created or not. And in case it was not, there is no detailed error description. Neither in SXMB_MONI in the PI nor in the SXMB_MONI in the SRM.
Is there any other monitoring tool for this interface?
Would you recommend to use this interface in production, or would you prefer to use the BAPI interface?
    Any comment appreciated.
    BR,
    Jürgen

    Hi Jürgen,
yes I worked on a similar scenario, we were distributing customers to CRM, which is the dual of vendors in SRM, and at the end is just a different role of the business partner.
The Proxy I used is the standard proxy ABABusinessPartner, which is part of the standard content, and we never had problem using this object (productive since more than a year).
What is strange to me is that you do not see any trace in SXMB_MONI, you should see the message in both XI and SRM and when a message is in error you should see the trace there with a description of the issue.
Regarding Acknowledgement I think you have to configure MDM to request an acknowledgement since the ack only comes back if the first sender of the message request it.
    Hope this help.
    Ciao,
    Sergio

  • Problem receiving acknowledgement: abap proxy == file adapter

    Hi experts,
I am developing an asynchrone interface using PI 7.0. The scenario is: SAP ==> FILE.
In SAP I have created an abap proxy in wich I requested an acknowledgement when calling from the abap code. In PI I have created an Integration Process with a receive step, and a send step. In de send step I am asking for a transport acknowledgement.
When I test the interface and I look in the SXMB_MONI in PI, I see the acknowledgement given back to the IP, but in the SAP backend system I don't receive anything in the abap proxy which had send the original message. In de SXMB_MONI from SAP I see a "?" Still awaiting  acknowledgement.
Can anyone help me with this scenario? I really need an acknowledgement from the file adapter in the calling abap proxy.
    Regards, Jeroen

You need to crate a REceiver Agreement for this sender...
The Integration Server sends an acknowledgment message back to the sender (CENTRAL_BACK). It uses the name of the sender system for logical and technical backward routing.
If the sender is addressed using an ABAP proxy, you must define a corresponding receiver agreement for this sender.

  • Http to Abap Proxy communication with multiple queues generation in Recevr

    Dear SDNs,
I need some help in the following scenario, appreciate your suggestions and help .
I am receiving the messages from sender to PI on http posting, from PI  I am sending the message to SAP system using receiver xi communication channel ( receiver is abap proxy).
Sender will send the messages in QOS=EOIO, QUEueID=XXXt_100 etc  parameters, when large volumes cases, it is getting delayed to process it using a single queue.
We are thinking to dynamically  generate multiple queues in PI and send the same queue ids to receiver SAP system to process all the messages quickly in SAP System also.
    Help /Clarifications needed:
    1. XI receiver communication channel in  pi  does not provide any options to generate dynamic queue id based on payload content (using dynamic configuration) and sent it to SAP.
    2. Module Tab in receiver communication channel also got disabled to add  custom adapter modules, can we add custome adapter module on xi receiver channel to generate dynamic queue id ?
Really appreciate your immediate help and suggestions.
    Thanks.
    Suraj.

    Dear Praveen,
Thanks lot for the immediate reply, we need to use EOIO, as the messages need to be processed in the same order we send and receive, there is no flexibility in QOS=EOIO, Appreciate if there is any other thoughts?
    Thanks In Advance.

  • File to ABAP proxy as attachment

    Hello PI expert,
I have requirement to FTP file from FTP server to ECC server.  But because of some security, we can not get FTP permission on ECC server.
What i want to do is, get the file from FTP server as it is, and send it using abap proxy as attachment. I don't want to do any content conversion or xml conversion because I want to transfer file as it is.
    Any suggestion.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
if your PI version is at least "SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 SP3"
create sample Data type structure with one node and one field, and use this for both proxy and file service/message interfaces.
Pick the file from FTP. No graphical mapping. Use Java Mapping. Read the input stream and create an attachement from this and attach it to the message. pass some static values for the output (proxy) structure using output stream. Thats all.
    http://help.sap.com/javadocs/pi/SP3/xpi/index.html
    Methods:-
com.sap.aii.mapping.api --> OutputAttachments --> create(String contentId, byte[] content) / create(String contentId, String contentType, byte[] content)

  • File to ABAP Proxy(ProductActivityNotification_In)

    Hi All
I have to develop one scenario for Flat File to ABAP Proxy (ProductActivityNotification_In).
I am going to use Receiver File Adapter(to receive file in PI) and Reiver XI adapter(to send file to SNC proxy ProductActivityNotification_In)
I am new to XI please let me know how to approach to this solution.
What could be the design steps I need to consider?
Do I Need to use content conversion?
    Can I use graphical mapping?
    Thanks for your inputs.
    Regards
    Amol.

    Hey,
You need to import the SNC standard content in XI.
This will provide you with the Proxy interface.
Then you need to do certain settings on the SNC server.
    R3 side
    SLDCHECK
Use this transaction to access the SLD of XI.
    SLDAPICUST
Create an entry for respective XI server
requires hostname, port username and ip.
Can have multiple enteries for different servers.
But you can check only one entry.
based on the entry that is checked, respective SLD API will be triggered from
      SLDCHECK.
    SM59 (T type connections).
To connect to the SLD you need 2 types of TCP/IP connections.
      1)LCRSAPRFC:-
In this you require the gateway host(ip address) and gatewayservice(sapgw[system no.])
YOu also need to give Program ID.
Entry of corresponding Program ID must be maintained in SMGW.
IN SMGW Click GoTo->logged on Clients.
If entry is not there for corresponding XI.
Create a communication channel in XI, pointing to R3 and give a Program ID
in the channel. Once the channel is activated, corresponding Program ID wil
          appear in SMGW.
      2)SAPSLDAPI:-
In this case follow the same porcedure as for LCRSAPRFC.
As far as the Program ID is concerned te procedure mentioned above is for
       Customized RFC's
The RFC destinations mentioned here are both standard RFC's
Hence for these two RFC's no need to Create Program ID's. you just need to
change the System ID of the Program ID.
Both these RFC's are maintained in the J2ee server of XI.
    SPROXY.
In this transcation you can check the Proxies.
If the proxies are not activated (i.e. if the message interfaces are not active)
then you need to maintain one G type RFC destination pointing the resepctive XI server.
In the G tpye RFC destination give the Ip adress of the XI server in the target
host and set the path prefix as /rep.
Goto SPROXY->Goto->connection test-> click on the table SPROXSET.
In this table maintain enteries for ADDRESS_ONLY_FROM_SPROXSET and IFR_HTTP_DEST
The values corresponding to these enteries will be the G tpye RFC destination.
In order to connect R3 to the Integaration server you need to maintain H type
The default RFC is XI_INTEGRATIONSERVER. In you need to give the Target host entry as the
Ip address and Path Prefic as.../sap/XI/engine/?type=entry (this you can get from SXMB_ADM of XI)
You can also create the H type RFc of your own.
goto SXMB_ADM(r3) and open Integration engine configuration.
Goto edit->change global configuration and give the RFC dest name like this:-
    Corresponding Integration server:- dest://{h-type rfc destination}
If you do not want to create RFC destination you can directly give
the Integration server address(that you can obtain from SXMB_ADM of XI) in the
    Corresponding Integration server field.
This is to activate the communication between SNC and PI.
now you need to create the file structure in XI.
the next step is to do the mapping between the file structure and the appropriate interface
As yours is a flat file you need to do a file content conversion
In Integration directory you need to configure two channels one for File and the other one for Proxy.
    regards,
      Milan

  • File to ABAP proxy via AAE

    Hi All
Am doing a file to ABAP proxy scenario and using SOAP adapter(XI protocol 3.0) at target side in order to make use of AAE.
But while testing am getting the following error at both the channels(file and soap) :
Error Transmitting the message to endpoint <local> using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out.
    SOAP channel configuration :
    Target URL : http://X.X.X.X:8001/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    Logon language : en
X.X.X.X  being the IP address of the target system which is BW.
    Appreciate any help.
    Regards
    Soumen

Re-Iterating my 1st post : Am using SOAP( Message Protocol : XI 3.0 ) as I want to make use of the AAE. XI adapter is not supported by AAE.
    Followed this : http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70066f78-7794-2c10-2e8c-cb967cef407b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
Anyways, found out I was having some error in teh IP I was using ...corrected it and now my error is changed to :
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML; HTTP 403 Forbidden
Now since my source is File which goes through mapping, what do I need to do for this error?

  • SOAP to Abap Proxy with attachment

    Hi Experts,
i am facing one problem while developing one interface from SOAP to ABAP Proxy with attachment.
the sender system is sending empty soap message but with all its content in the attachment.
we need to parse the attachment and send the data to ECC system through proxy.
we made some research on SDN and found out that in sender soap adapter PayloadSwapBean is not supported.
however in receiver XI adapter the module tab is not editable.
could you suggest any solution to handle this interface?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Aditya,
Can you just try to  use SOAP with Servlet(Axis) protocol, since standard SOAP sender does not allow modules to be used.
    please refer http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/45/a39e244b030063e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm

  • Error monitoring abap proxy in WorkBench

    Hi all...
I have a problem monitoring an abap proxy in RWB. I receive this message when i try to see the details of the message (Message Content and Queue Monitor options in Message Display Tool) in message monitoring in RWB: User PIRWBUSER has no RFC authorization for function group HTTPTREE ., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE. In the other side, i can see the header of the message in the message data of the same option.
    Any idea with this problem?
    Thanks...

    Hi,
check your RFC destination. Here is more info about this error message.
In general we get this error while trying to access Unicode / Non Unicode system using Non Unicode / Unicode RFC connection...Your RFC destination should have same Character Format of your target system
Please checkc this property in RFC desctination under Special Option tab.
For r/3 system, Menu->Status. Check if its unicode or not and it should have the same format as that is listed in RFC.
The user should have following authorizations:
    SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER
    SAP_XI_IS_SERV_USER

    Venkat.

  • ABAP Proxy Generation on Interfaces with GDTs

    Hi all,
I created an aggregated data type with references to data types listed under the SAP GLOBAL SWCV within the namespace for the GDTs.
When I now try to generate an ABAP proxy in my backend system, I always get an error that these types cannot be generated because they have an other namespace.
Well, this message sounds logical for me, because this GDTs have to reside within an other (super) package(?), but how do I have to proceed with that?
From my point of view the GDTs delivered by SAP should already be generated within the ABAP Stack of the backend systems or they have to be automatically generated within a special package. When I try to generate it the system additionally wants to generate the GDT type references also with the custom prefix.
Does anyone have a good explaination on that?
    Thanx
    Olli

    Hi Ollie.
Have you got a link to somewhere where they mention this component?
The problem I have with this is that there is business related content in the SAPGLOBAL SWCV. If you browse it you will see some Employee data types which relates to CRM systems. If you install this component on let say a SRM box what will it do with these "unrelated" business types.
    Will these types be generatable?
Questions, questions...and finding answers is nearly impossible.
Anyway, what we did is to develop a Custom Common component which contains only datatypes. All other SWC's has this component as a dependancy. When we developed a new interface we would look for the datatypes in the SAPGLOBAL SWC (or the catalog) and copy it to the Common component.
We would then use the data types in the Common component to build the freeform data types in the other SWC's.
This way you still have only one place to maintain the global data types (in the common component).
    Nice to share ideas.

  • ABAP Proxy Table Parameter

    Hi All,
    I’m developing a File->XI->R/3 interface.
The Flat File content looks like this :
    0001,0001,03.05.2003
    0001,0002,03.05.2006
    0001,0003,03.05.2006
I need to insert the data to an R/3 table ZTEST, and if the interface runs well I imagine that the table content will look like this :
    ZTEST
Header ID     Item ID          Posting Date
    0001          0001          03.05.2003
    0001          0002          03.05.2006
    0001          0003          03.05.2006
I’ve designed and configured all the required objects, and the data successfully received by the R/3.
The payload on R/3’s SXMB_MONI looks like this :
    <?xml version=”1.0” encoding=”UTF-8” ?>
    <ns0:Data1 xmlns:ns0=”http://mycomp.com/data1”>
         <Data>
              <HeaderID>0001</HeaderID>
              <ItemID>0001</ItemID>
              <PostingDate>03.05.2003</PostingDate>
         </Data>
         <Data>
              <HeaderID>0001</HeaderID>
              <ItemID>0002</ItemID>
              <PostingDate>03.05.2006</PostingDate>
         </Data>
         <Data>
              <HeaderID>0001</HeaderID>
              <ItemID>0003</ItemID>
              <PostingDate>03.05.2006</PostingDate>
         </Data>
    </ns0:Data1>
But when I check my ZTEST table, it only contains the first row :
    0001          0001          03.05.2003
I suppose this because my implementation on the proxy only runs once, and the parameter type is a structure.
Can we define a table parameter for ABAP Proxy instead of flat structure parameter ? So that I can loop through the
internal table and insert the row one by one.
Or is there a more common way to do this kind of interfacing ? Please advise me on this matter.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andy

    Hi All,
    Thanks for the advices......
I've tried to set the occurence before, but I guess I forgot to regenerate the proxy, that's why it's not working and I began to think that setting the occurence won't solve the problem.
After reading your answers, I set the occurence again and regenerate the proxy, all works fine now.....
    Thanks for the help.
    Regards,
    Andy

  • ABAP Proxy Import Structure

ok. Guys and gals I have limited ABAP expierence and have a simple question around loops. I have an ABAP proxy setup that receives an XML file and stores the contents in the INPUT method. The two structures under Item I am working with are I_HEADER and I_ITEM.
I can access the values in I_HEADER with something like the following:
    CLEAR w_header.
    w_header-guid = v_header_guid.
    w_header-description = input-I_HEADER-DESCRIPTION.
    w_header-process_type = input-I_HEADER-PROCESS_TYPE.
    w_header-posting_date = sy-datum.
now I currently have been testing the proxy with the following for my i_item structure. This is hard coded but I would like to import from the INPUT structure.
    CLEAR w_item.
    w_item-guid = v_item_guid.
    w_item-parent = v_header_guid.
    w_item-product = '00000000000000000000000000000000'.
    w_item-description = 'Test Item Description'.
    APPEND w_item TO i_item.
How would I setup my loop to read the I_ITEM-ITEM table and populate with the imported values instead of hard coded. For instance using this example I would need the values from I_ITEM-ITEM-DESCRIPTION and I_ITEM-ITEM-PRODUCT?
    Thank You.

    Hi Joe,
You have to use to loops one for header and another for Item details in that header something like this
    loop at it_header into wa_header
         loop at it_item into wa_tem
          endloop.
    endloop.
