ABAP to JAVA connectivity

Hi Experts,
I want to call JAVA program in ABAP, how I can achive this.
-Rajneesh Gupta

Hi Rajneesh,
You can use the the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES. In this you can use the EXECUTE method .
Before this you need to create a connection in SM59 where you need to define the path of the Java batch file.
You can also use the FM 'SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE'. Where you can define the path of the Java batch file kept on the application server.You can create external OS command using SM69 and then call that external OS command using the above FM.
Thanks & Regards,

  • AS ABAP & AS JAVA Connection

    Hi,
    I had installed ABAP on different host with different SID and JAVA on a different host with different SID.
    Please if someone can help me in setting up the connection between ABAP & JAVA Engine so that in SMICM, it shows J2EE Engine configuration true and Operational True.
    Regards
    Malay

    Hello, this is not possible. If you install a java system on a different server with a different sid as the abap system, the smicm is not involved for starting/stopping the j2ee. only if you have a addin installation. in your case stop/start java and abap seperate.

  • How to connect separated ABAP and Java stacks ?

    Hi,
    I have installed two separate ABAP and Java Stacks and trying to connect both the stacks together.
    As per my understanding, only JCO RFC is the mean of communication between ABAP and Java stacks.
    But still even after configuring the JCO RFC successfully, I am unable to view, configure or control
    J2EE stack's status from smicm (ABAP).
    Would you please suggest me, if there is any more configuration to be done on abap or Java stack side.
    Thanks,
    Cheers !!!
    Ashish

    Hi Sunny,
    JCO RFC is tested and it is working fine. So no issues from JCO RFC side. Hope you would have read carefully.

    Hope I am able to clear your doubt. Java is completely separated stack and not add-on.
    Suggest me how can I proceed further on this connectivity.

    Hi Olivier,
    I am grateful to you for your reply. I understood your point but now except a successful JCO RFC test,
    is there any mean to check and ensure that both the stacks are connected properly and ready to use.

  • How ABAP and JAVA stacks are connecting

    Hi Experts,
    I have a doubt in pi. We are developing Message Mapping in IR, it means it is running on JAVA STACK. But we are checking any mapping error in SXMB_MONI which will run on ABAP STACK.
    Now My doubt is " How JAVA and ABAP stacks are connecting to each other and How we are able to see Mapping error in Integration Engine which resides on ABAP stack even though we create Mapping in IR which runs on Java".
    Thanks&Regards ,
    Gajapathi.

    Hi Gajapathi,
    How JAVA and ABAP stacks are connecting to each other
    PI manages using single database for both JAVA and ABAP servers. But both access them using different schema. They connect using RFC protocol via SAP Java Connector (JCo Connector).
    How we are able to see Mapping error in Integration Engine
    which resides on ABAP stack even though we create Mapping in IR which runs on Java".
    So when you create a object be it mapping or interface or any XI objects, it is stored in Single Database. When you use ABAP sxmb_moni for monitoring the message, it uses ABAP related schema to access the message.
    I hope it answers you query.

  • CRM (Abap + Java) connect with WAS (Abap + Java)

    Hello collegues,
    i have installed Netweaver 7.0 with Enterprise Portal.
    Now i must connect
    WAS with CRM system, but i do not what i have to connect ABAP - ABAP parts (RFC connection type TCP) or Java - Java parts (in visual admin in JCo) or ABAP - Java ( no idea how)? Which users are using for?
    The second task -
    i have tryed to create some user in portal but got message "error in persistence"?
    In useradmin in EP i saw that standart users from R/3 Abap are there. May be i fogot to set something after installation?
    Thank you very much for any idea.
    Julia

    Hi Julia,
    for CRM you don't need to "connect" the Portal (Java) with the CRM (ABAP) system.
    It is "just":
    - import of the CRM Business Package
    - definition of a system in the portal pointing to the CRM
    - setup of SSO (if you want SSO)
    The error with the persistance:
    You already have connected the Java UME to the ABAP system. In the ABAP you have a user called "SAPJSF" - this user has only read permission on the users. You have to assign another role to that user: SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION instead of SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO

  • ABAP Java connectivity

    Hi ABAPers,
    I want to have a sample program for SAP Java connectivity. I know SAP has a JCo but how to go about it. We have another system which needs to communicate with SAP 4.6C. Also, I would like to know whether while reading tables from other system, can this program update our tables.
    Thanking you.

    Hi,
    To use JCo, download it (including the Javadocs) from http://service.sap.com/connectors. The zip file contains a comprehensive tutorial to program using JCo. You can also take a look at the FAQ on JCo at http://www.sapgenie.com/faq/jco.htm for more information.
    If you just want to take a look at the sample code, you can download the tutorial from http://zerone.samcheok.ac.kr/Asp_pr/Language/.%5Cuploadfile%5CJCo%20Tutorial-1.pdf
    You can definitely use JCo to update tables in SAP. You will either have to call an existing BAPI, or an RFC FM to do so.
    Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hello Balaji,
    Yes, you can connect the JAVA user adminsitration with the Single CUA.
    Make use of the JAVA UME feature for this.

  • ABAP Calling JAVA Function or Method

    Hi Friend,
    I need help in how to proceed using  ABAP  and Call JAVA Function . I know that  we need to use RFC enabled Function modules. I was able to connect  using JAVA Connector which was provided by SAP For communicating with JAVA Apps. The approach for connecting the JAVA to SAP is working fine.  But I  have browsed through various website but failed to find any information.Now i am looking forward to help from you friends to solve my problems .
    The Requirement is mentioned below:-
      1. Prerequiste for SAP ABAP calling a third Party software which is working in JAVA Platform (like any middle ware which might be hardware or software).
      2. Sample Code  like calling a Text  ' Hello  to the world  calling JAVA from ABAP'.
      3. Steps and process so that it would be helpful.
    Timely help would be appreciated.
    Rajiv Christopher.

    1.Middleware is JCO RFC provider it comes with SAP so no need any third party Adapter.
    2.
    " The ECHOTXT parameter should contain the text of REQUTXT.Information on
    " calling the function module should be returned in RESPTXT, indicating, for
    " example, in which system and when the function module call was processed.
    data:ECHOTEXT type SY-LISEL,
         RESPTEXT type SY-LISEL.
    CALL FUNCTION 'STFC_CONNECTION' DESTINATION '<Your JCO destination name>' " which one you have developed in SM59 as TCP/IP
      EXPORTING
        requtext       = 'ABAP Calls JAVA'
    IMPORTING
       ECHOTEXT       = ECHOTEXT
       RESPTEXT       = RESPTEXT.

      WRITE: / 'establish a link to the ABAP application server with logon data'.
      WRITE:/'---------------------------------------------------------------------'.
      write:/ ECHOTEXT .
      else.
          WRITE:/'---------------------------------------------------------------------'.
      WRITE: / 'Not establish a link to the ABAP application server with logon data'.

      endif.
    Check the sample code and Let me know will you get ECHOTEXT ?

  • Communication between Abap and Java and Java to Abap

    HI,
    I have installed BI 7.0 and the user complaints that BEx WEB Application Designer Query results are not showing up in the WEB URL Link.
    and the BI user suggests that communication between Abap to java and Java to Abap has to be done?
    How to setup ABAP to JAVA and JAVA to ABAP communication?
    Regards,
    Magham.

    Hi,
    Jco conn from ABAP to Java
    =====================
    You can use the JCO RFC Provider Service of the Web Application Server for your ABAP to Java calls.
    The steps involved in that are
    1. Configure destination in SM59 in SAP.
    2. Create RFC Destination in Visual Admin.
    3. Create a stateless session bean with JNDI name as the name of calling function module in SAP.
    4. Add a business method public void processFunction(JCO.Funtion fn) which is called by the JCO RFC Provider Service. The name should be 'processFunction'.
    5. Set library references in application-j2ee-engine.xml to type weak for the following
    a. com.sap.mw.jco.
    b. com.sap.tc.Logging (if you are using the logging api )
    Here is the sample code for the EJB biz method
    Business Method.
    public void processFunction(JCO.Function function) {
    try {
    // Get the import parameters for the function module
    JCO.ParameterList importList = function.getImportParameterList();
    logger.infoT("The value sent is" +
    (String)importList.getValue("USER_NAME"));
    // Set the export parameter value for the function module
    JCO.ParameterList export = function.getExportParameterList();
    export.setValue("From EJB", "RETURN");
    function.setExportParameterList(export);
    catch (java.lang.Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    Jco conn from Java to others(ex:ABAP)
    =====================-==========
    • Open Visual Admin(C:\usr\sap\SID\JCxx\j2ee\admin\go.bat) and connect to server
    • Go to Destinations service
    • Open HTTP Settings Tab
    • Add/Edit destination SLD_DataSupplier and type following values
    URL – http://xyz.corp:53000
    Authentication - BASIC
    User – dynproxxx
    Password - bp52st000
    • Press save and test (if you get response code 200 everything is o.k.)
    • Add/Edit other HTTP Destination named SLD_Client with the same values as SLD_DataSupplier:
    URL – http://xyz.corp:53000
    Authentication - BASIC
    User – dynproxxx
    Password - bp52st000
    • Press save and test (if you get response code 200 everything is o.k.)
    • Go to SLD Data Supplier service.
    • Press the button named: Send the Data to SLD and confirm triggering SLD Data transfer (if you receive successful message everything is o.k.).

  • More complex JCO Server examples (ABAP to Java)

    JCo connections:
    I found a couple of good documents for connecting from Java to ABAP. Whenever it comes to the other direction (ABAP to Java), information is somehow rare.
    I had a look at the examples coming with the JCo lib, however I would like to find some more complex examples. Especially the transfer of larger result sets (obtained on the Java side) is interesting.
    Does anybody know something like this? I have tried Google, but somehow always the same few articles showed up.
    Any hints?

    You can also use the JCO RFC Provider Service of the Web Application Server for your ABAP to Java calls.

  • Level of Knowledge in ABAP and Java?

    Hi All,
    I am seeking a career in SAP Netweaver Process Integration - XI and would like to know what level of knowledge would i need to have in ABAP and Java. If i should have any what are the area's that would be expected. Please Clarify.
    Your advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Ajay C Indukuru.

    Hi Ajay
    in addition to chirag's comment
    We use ABAP Proxies in case of we are dealing with the ABAP Based Applications
    We use JAVA Proxies in case of we are dealing with the JAVA based application
    in SAP XI We have  two ways of connectivity
    1) adapter
    2)proxy
    in applications based on WAS 6.20 or above we can directly communicate to XI through Proxies
    while application based on below WAS 6.20 you have to use adaptyer to communicate to XI
    proxies seperate business application logic from the integration logic of integration logic
    proxy generation converts non language specific interface description in WSDL into executable interface
    Java proxy is generated from the WSDL description opf interface and this is generated as a JAR file in IR
    while ABAP proxy is generated by transaction SPROXY
    on Application server based on WSDL description of message interface
    PROXIES have same mode and direction as Interfaces have
    To learn Java you should know only basic concepts of java means you must have basic java programmin skill
    Java proxy can be generated through wizard also this is an inbuild functionality of SAP XI
    to lear java follow this link
    java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/
    To learn ABAP you should know beginner level ABAP4GL
    ABAP is very simple language and coding is like that you are writing simple english sentence so you would be feeling comfortable withABAP with a little practice
    GO to T CODE se24 and start developing
    learn ABAP with this link
    http://www.itquestionbank.com/sams-teach-yourself-abap-4-in-21-days.html
    for more advance version you may follow SDN
    in my opinion nothing is so hard to learn
    i hope this may assist you
    if helpful kindly reward points

  • Upgrade of CRM 5.0 abap and java

    Hi,
    I have to upgrade CRM 5.0 to CRM 7.0 with EhP1. In my system landscape, CRM 5.0 ABAP (CRA) and CRM 5.0 Java (CRJ) are installed on different servers. CRJ is a portal available for end user for which CRA is acting as backend server and database. I have experienced that when we install CRM 7.0, installer automatically creates 2 seperate instances each for abap and java. I am not able to presume what exactly will happen in this kind of upgrade. My doubts are:
    1. Will this upgrade CRA (abap) and CRJ (java) seperately on different server? and i connect them as i am doing currently (CRA being the UME for CRJ)?
    2. While upgrading CRA, upgrade tool will ask the path of CRJ and both the instance will be upgraded simultaneously. And CRJ will behave as web ui instance after upgrade.
    3. CRA will be upgraded and a new instance for WebUI will be created (let us call it CRW) and i will connect CRW with CRJ for all practical purposes? where CRJ will act as portal for CRW.
    Kindly help.
    Thanks.
    - gaurav

    Hi,
    > 1. Will this upgrade CRA (abap) and CRJ (java) seperately on different server? and i connect them as i am doing currently (CRA being the UME for CRJ)?
    Yes.  You need to upgrade both the servers separately. You need not to reconnect it as both the systems are already connected with each other.
    >
    No, new instance will be created. You need to upgrade CRA and CRJ separately. WEBUI will be automatically upgraded.
    Thanks
