ABAP to Web Dynpro

hi every one,
My case is that, I already have ABAP report with selection screen.
Need to run same report in Web dynpro but with Web dynpro layout.
Now i have created Selection Screen in WD, want to pass entered data to ABAP report and run its logic.
The output should be in WD layout.

Hi,
Better you create a BAPI or RFC enabled FM and write the report code inside that with all the necessary
importing, exporting and other parameters.
Now you can use a Service call from the WDA to call this RFC and deisgn the WD layout for the selection screen and show the output in a table using Table UI element or ALV.
Please check the SDN for more on using the service call.
Usually the Service call is not called directly, you can practice this way later try to use the classes to aciheve the same.

Lekha.

    Hi,
    Step step description here is not possible.
    It always advisable to go to service.sap.com/instguides.
    slow and steady wins the race.
    good luck.
    It's advisable to have quad processor with atleast 8GB ram.
    If it's a nw04s then at a shot you can select AS ABAP. JAVA, EP, PI(XI) and proceed.
    hope this helps you.

  • How to configure SSO for web dynpro ABAP (not web dynpro Java)

    Hi Experts,
        I am testing SSO in IDES for web dynpro ABAP (Not for web dynpro Java / not for portal). When I am entering url of web dynpro application in web browser like internet explorer, then it should ask for user id and password first time, after login whenever user would access that url, it must not ask for user ID and password (url would be access web browser in mobile). For this I select to configure single sign-on for web dynpro ABAP. I have done below works:
    1). I have created a web dynpro application having url: http://susws076.sap.swk:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zadb_hello_world2
    2). I run TCode SICF and access service node to "Zadb_hello_world2". Double click on it, hit change. pressed "logon data" tab, select "Alternative logon
         procedure"
       Then deleted all logon procedure other than "SSO Authentication" and saved.
    3). Go to "STRUST" and create certificate, choosed "Environment==> Logon Ticket" fill the required parameters and execute. It is OK (no red traffic
         signal).
    4). Execute TCode "RZ10" to change profile parameter, insert new parameter (indicated by red arrow)
    After all this settings I opened a browser enter above URL and hit enter but there is an error
    There is no login page. It directly showed this error page. No cookies is saving.
    Can anyone tell me what all the settings/configuration other than this I have to do. And is there any wrong setting done by me?
    How to set the for single sign-on?
    Thanks in Advance

  • Web Dynpro ABAP replaces Web Dynpro Java

    Hi, all!
    The release notes for ESS 1.2 (ERP6.0, Enh.Pack. 2) say that all WDJ applications within travel management have been replaced with WDA. Does anybody know if this reflects a general strategy of SAP - drawing back from WDJ, replacing existing Java-apps with ABAP and developing new scenarios in WDA?
    It would be important to get a definite statement on this issue as we are now implementing ESS on portal basis and have to decide wheater to discard the old ITS-scenarios and modify the new Java-based Web Dynpros or keep the old ITS-services with interal ITS and wait for the WDA applications to arise.
    Any hints are more than appreciated!

    Thomas

    Hi all,
    to stop the discussions please have a look at the identical thread in the Web Dynpro Java forum:

  • Another image question - using Regular ABAP not web dynpro

    Following Otto's awesome instructions:
    1) create image field in your form (not only image!! it must be the image field)
    2) load your picture in the backend
    3) convert the image into XSTRING
    4) create the XSTRING variable in the interface/ context, fill it with the picture data
    5) bind the image field to this variable
    6) enjoy
    Regards, Otto
    We can easily get an image to appear on a form produced from Web Dynpro ABAP using an XML interface.
    However, we are having an issue doing the same using a regular ABAP report and Data Dictionary interface.
    We added a new field to our DDIC structure called signature TYPE RAWSTRING (we can't define a new domain with type X since SAP doesn't allow that, but they are both Variable Length Byte Strings).
    We use the exact same code to upload the same image from UNIX, we see the byte string in our variable, but no image appears on our form (using the ImageField object).
    We then created a Global variable with type Xstring in our interface. We pass our binary image to the function module. Through debugging, I see that an error occurs because the gloabl variable states it's max characters is only 255.
    any ideas?

    Otto,
    thanks for the replies.
    I did make sure to embed the image. We tried both jpg and bmp, but neither worked.
    for testing, I hardcoded this in the WD and it worked. I copied it over to our ABAP method
      DATA: lv_ds TYPE string VALUE '/sapmnt/DEV/interface/renewables/pbch-1/archive/352.bmp',
                 lv_xstring TYPE xstring.
      OPEN DATASET lv_ds FOR INPUT IN BINARY MODE .
      CHECK sy-subrc = 0.
      DO 1 times.
        READ DATASET lv_ds INTO lv_xstring.
        IF sy-subrc <> 0.
          EXIT.
        ENDIF.
      ENDDO.
    This gets me an Xstring field that's 1272 long.
    I pass the lv_xstring field directly to the FM IMAGE field, which is defined as an Xstring in the PDF Interface
      CALL FUNCTION ls_function
        EXPORTING
          /1bcdwb/docparams  = fp_docparams
          is_scale_stng      = ls_scale_stng
          it_scale_tkti      = it_scale_tkti
          it_scale_seal      = it_scale_seal
          is_scale_tkt       = ls_scale_tkt_print
          image              = lv_xstring          " <---- pass the xstring image
        IMPORTING
          /1bcdwb/formoutput = ls_form_output
        EXCEPTIONS
          usage_error        = 1
          system_error       = 2
          internal_error     = 3
          OTHERS             = 4.
    Stepping into the FM, I see that IMAGE now has the same size of 1272
    In my PDF Form layout, I dragged/dropped the ImageField object on my form.
    I found the IMAGE field in my Data View tab and dragged/dropped that onto the ImageField to Bind it.
    I checked 'embed image data'.
    I checked the form properties and the layout was set to 'Standard'. I changed it to ZCI, as well.
    I know the data is coming across because I can drag/drop the image field from the Data View directly on the form as a Text Field and see the hex data come through.

  • Web Dynpro JAVA VS. Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hi,
    I'm interested in advantages and disadvantages of WD JAVA & WD ABAP. Could anybody give me some "detailed" information about it?
    We need any information you can give us.
    regards,
    Sharam

    Hi,
    <b>Web Dynpro for ABAP:</b>
    Web Dynpro for ABAP or Web Dynpro for ABAP (WD4A, WDA) is the SAP standard UI technology for developing Web applications in the ABAP environment. It consists of a runtime environment and a graphical development environment with special Web Dynpro tools that are integrated in the ABAP Workbench (SE80).
      The use of declarative and graphical tools significantly reduces the implementation effort
    1)    Web Dynpro supports a structured design process
    2)      Strict separation between layout and business data
    3)     Reuse and better maintainability by using components
    4)     Automatic operation of the Web Dynpro application using the keyboard
    5)     User interface accessibility is supported
    6)     Full integration in the reliable ABAP development environment
    for more see:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/77/3545415ea6f523e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    <b>Web Dynpro for Java:</b>
    Web Dynpro is a client-independent programming model of the SAP NetWeaver technology platform for developing user interfaces for professional business applications. It is based on the model view controller paradim which ensures that the business logic is separated from the presentation logic. This architecture is visible in the Web Dynpro perspective of the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS).
    Web Dynpro helps you with the development of Web applications by:
    1)       Ensuring platform-independence with the meta model approach
    2)       Minimizing the implementation effort through declarative programming
    3)      Supporting a structured design process by applying the model view controller paradigm
    4)        Providing reuse and better maintainability by using components
    5)       Providing graphical support with tools in the Web Dynpro perspective
    6)       Providing the SAP NetWeaver Java Development Infrastructure (NWDI) which supports team work with different services such as source code versioning and the Central Build Service.

  • ABAP Web Dynpro ALV: event for "tabel selection menu" needed

    Hi all,
    we need to react on the "table selection menue" control in our ALV grids. We found, that event "lead_select" is triggerd, if single lines are selected and if "delete selection" from the table selection menu is used.
    But if the "select all" item is used, the event is not triggered.
    Is there another event we can use? Does anybody know a sensible workaround for this problem?
    Thanks  and regards

  • Web Dynpro for ABAP iview window question ...

    Hi,  I have a web dynpro for abap iview that calls a web dypro for abap program in ECC that generates a PDF document.
    It works perfectly, except when the iview is launched it opens a blank iview page and then opens a separate window in which the PDF is displayed.  Does anyone know how to suppress the blank iview window?
    Can I suppress it in the ABAP for Web Dynpro program in ECC or is there something on the portal in the web dynrpo for abap iview that I can do?
    Thanks
    Angie.

    Hi,
    Please check the same issue at the WD4A side-

    Or
    In the IF_WD_WINDOW_MANAGER try to use the method -create_internal_window method.

  • Error - Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions

    Dear All,
    we are trying to implement a web dynpro application with accessing ABAP functions.
    Previous tasks:
    -     insert the ABAP system into the SLD from the NWDI System (Transaction RZ70; the ABAP system is correctly insert into the SLD => technical systems)
    -     equipped the JCO connections with the web dynpro content manager (ping and test = OK)
    It’s the standard tutorial out of the SDN called “Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions”.
    Some hints:
    -     There are no errors after the implementation and the “rebuild” of the project in the NWDS
    -     The auto deployment works fine to the development runtime system. The application is shown in the Web Dynpro content manager

    -     The “normal” start over the NWDS fails => error text

    There two different URLs in use.
    Start via NWDS:

    Start via web dynpro content manager:

    For test purposes, we started the BAPI (BAPI_Flight_Getlist) on the ABAP system directly. It works.
    Any ideas about the system behaviours (different URLs and missing functionality)?
