Adobe Premiere Elements 8 refuses to burn a widescreen disc

I'm having trouble burning a 16:9 disc with Premiere Elements 8 even though the project settings are for widescreen and I select widescreen at burn time. Has anyone else had this problem?

That was what I had anticipated.
It could be due to a setting on the camera, or even how the particular camera records Widscreen 16:9. Some shoot Standard 4:3, and will just crop (in-camera) the footage to "look like" Widescreen, but it is not.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Timing discrepancy between burned DVD and Adobe Premiere Elements 12

Why does the DVD I burned have a different total time (1:54:35) as compared to the ending time in Adobe Premiere Elements 12 (1:54:42)?
A similar thing happened a week ago too, when the raw video when played in Windows Media didn't match up with the timing after I put the video in Elements and someone had given me editing work based on time specifications per what they saw in Windows Media, and I couldn't use it because it was seconds off of what was showing up in Elements. Further it wasn't a consistent timing different--sometimes it was 3 seconds behind other times it was 5 seconds ahead--very frustrating.
Anyone know why/how to fix this problem?

    VTS_01_1.VOB given duration 28 minutes 25 seconds
    VTS_01_2.VOB given duration 28 minutes 28 seconds
    VTS_01_3.VOB given duration 28 minutes 26 seconds
    VTS_01_4.VOB given duration 28 minutes 25 seconds
    VTS-01_5.VOB given duration 0 minutes 56 seconds
Also when looking at VTS-01_5.VOB it shows this:
So if you add 1:53:39:12 to 0:00:56:576 that equals 1:54:35:696--basically what Windows Media Player and my DVD player is reporting.

  • Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?  If not, which of the components is at fault?

When I spoke to a person about upgrading from Premiere Elements 10 to 12, I specifically asked if the program could burn DUAL LAYER 8.5 dvds and I was told that it could.  That is the ONLY reason that I upgraded.  Since recording in full HD the files are larger.  I video plays for local theaters. I have been trying to burn a disk that is 7.5GB (2 hours 15 minutes).  I bought RIDATA -RDL 4x 8.5GB disks.  Then had a dual layer burner installed in my computer.  Premiere Element dialog "incompatible disk" The RITDATA says the problem is Adobe, the Geek Squad says the problem is Adobe.
SO ANSWER THIS QUESTION: Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?  If not, which of the components is at fault?  I am trying to burn 18 copies of this video (no copyright infringements) and don't tell me to to divide it into 3 disks.

Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?
    Short answer: Yes.
What are you burning to DVD disc - DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc or AVCHD format on DVD?
Does your DVD CD burner support double layer single sided discs?
Premiere Elements is supposed to (been there and done that....)
    1. burn to Folder (8.5) for Publish+Share/Disc/DVD and Publish+Share/Disc/AVCHD
(you take the VIDEO_TS for the former and BDMV Folder in the latter to a program like ImgBurn
for the actual burn to the DVD double layer single sided disc)
    2. burn to disc 8.5 GB/240 minutes
Have you gone the burn to folder Folder (8.5 GB) route?
Have you tried another brand of disc in spite of by the disc manufacturer and the Geek Squad are telling you?
A double layer single sided disc is labelled 8.5 GB/240 minutes. In reality, that 8.5 GB is 7.95 GB. Where are you
coming up with 7.5 GB for your disc? Was that due to typing glitch?

  • Does adobe premiere elements 10 have its own intern burning program?

IN the past, using adobe premiere had its own burning program, so you coud burn straight from editing.
Do i need to buy a seperate burning program now like nero? And can this be integrated in the editing program?
Of do i always have to burn via a list of filmparts in a burning program, outsige Adobe?

I believe that Premiere Elements uses a Sonic burn software built into the program for the burn to disc opportunities under Share/Disc/.
But the other half of the equation is the Blu-ray DVD or DVD/CD burner being recognized by Premiere Elements (see burn dialog and the Burner Location: field).
Is your burner recognized by your Premiere Elements 10?

  • Error generating movie Adobe Premiere Elements 11

    Hello,
I recently upgraded from Adobe Premiere Elements 8 to 11 (11.0).
My system is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, running on Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.5 GHz, 4GB Ram, with 75GB free diskspace.
My input movies are AVCHD 1440x1080 25i video's (MTS files).
Everything is running fine. Editing goes smoothly (even smoother than when I was still using PE8). So in that sense I'm very satisfied and I think my system can handle it well. It doesn't seem to run out of memory, etc.
However, now I want to generate the output movie. The movie is about 10 minutes long and has some music and transitions under it. Previewing the movie goes fine.
I've tried uploading it to Youtube (HD 1440x1080 file). The progress monitor stays at 0% for 5 minutes and then suddenly goes 2 100% in a few seconds and afterwards starts to upload the movie. However, the movie that's actually uploaded contained only the first 4 seconds of the video. When I tried again, it was about 14 sec.
So, then I tried generating movies locally on the PC. I tried:
    Adobe Flash HD 720p.
    MPEG2 HDTV 1080i 25
    MPEG2 PAL DVD Widescreen
and some other formats (can't exactly remember which).
All of them ended with errors: "Error compiling movie", with cause unknown.
So, I haven't been able to generate any movie and I can't find out why it fails.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks,
    Michiel

These are not specifically for PreElements, but since other Adobe products have the same "core" in many instances, worth reading
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 11 & Photoshop Elements 11 Errors, Downloading Problems, Uninstalling probs

On May 8, 2013 I ordered Adobe Premiere Elements 11 & Photoshop Elements 11. To this day they do not work properly, did not download properly, nor can I get them uninstalled properly to reinstall properly. I have not been able to contact Adobe all these months, & now they tell me I have to pay $39.00 more just to speak to them. I refuse to give them anymore money than I have already gave them! Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue? I currently  have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 & Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0. I was upgrading.

Thank you so much for replying. But I sort of solved the problem, yet I didn't solve the problem. I am running Windows 7 on my computer. When I purchased Elements & Premiere 11, I purchased a 1 time download from Adobe. Upgrading from 7.0. When I went to download it, then install it, it told me that through an error message, that it was not downloaded or installed correctly, so I would have to uninstall the whole thing & start from scratch, basically. So, I went into the control panel to delete the program. Hit uninstall, & it told me after it was done, that everything was not uninstalled & had uninstalled incorrectly. Now it was missing from the Control Panel, & I could not find the remains anywhere, I thought I would try to redownload it again. So, going through the process, it would let me download it, but it would not install due to the remains of the previous installation. I tried everything. And when I tried to go straight to Adobe, it was a no go. I put it on the back burner for months & used my 7.0 occassionally. Today I decided I wanted it fixed. I went to Adobe...my licenses are still in my account. But no matter what I did, it would not accept my old licenses. With the help of a previous poster, maybe on a different thread, I was able to uninstall the old program remnants. But I could still not download 11. I just decided to cut my loses, & purchased 12. I bought the trials, downloaded them, they worked great, & I purchased them. So, all's well that ends well. Of course, I am $170-some dollars in the hole, but whatever it takes. Again thank you for your reply to my delima.

  • Importing DVD to Adobe Premiere Element 12

I have just recently purchased Adobe Premiere Element 12 and Photoshop pack. I am completely at a loss how to import a dvd (movies, anime). I downloaded a decrypter and then uploaded the disc onto a USB drive. After loading up the file into Adobe the whole movie was a huge mess, everything was choppy. Pinnacle studio came with a device that linked up the movie maker to the dvd player to capture clips. Is there something that I need to buy for Adobe Premiere? Do I need to do anything with Photoshop? Appreciate any answers

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12/12.1 running on? If you have not updated 12 to 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update, please do so.
To your immediate...if you are using Premiere Elements, you do not need to do any conversions. I repeat that, you do not.
You simply insert your DVD disc with its DVD-VIDEO format in the burner tray and use Premiere Elements 12/12.1's Add Media/DVD camera or computer drive/Video Importer/ to get the video files from the disc into the Premiere Elements project. The file(s) that you seek are in the VIDEO_TS Folder on the disc and typically have the name starting with VTS_01_1.VOB. Depending on how much you have on the DVD disc, you might have additional files in the series
VTS_01_2.VOB and so on, maybe even the start and use of a VTS_02_01.VOB.
It would probably be safer in the beginning to set the project preset manually for either
    NTSC DV Standard
    NTSC DV Widescreen
    or PAL counterpart
depending on format on disc standard 4:3 or widescreen 16:9 and for NTSC or PAL setup.
The instructions on how to set the project preset manually instead of letting the project do it is a general principle and not restricted to your particular type of project. Please see information in following link about this and instruction for setting the project preset manually.

  • Dvd Menu Adobe Premiere Elements 10 for Mac with bad resolution

    Hi, I use a MacBookPro with Mac OS X 10.6.8 - Intel Core i5 2,4 GH - RAM 4 GB.
I just purchased PRE 10 version hoping to solve a problem I had with version 9 for Mac but not with a version 7 for Win.
    I
My problem is that when I burn the dvd with the final work in PAL system, the menu of the DVD has the text very blurred at a very bad resolution.
I searched this forum and I didn't found a similar problem for Mac user.
I had the same problem with PRE 9.
Same problem if I insert a logo in the corner of the video. Very bad resolution image in the final dvd.
I tried to change the beginning resolution of the image from very low to very high and the result was the same.
Someone has similar problems? Someone did find a way to solve it?

Dear Bill, many thanks for your answer.
This is the Project Preset chosen.
As the source is a JVC Everio with hard disk, I chose PAL - Hard Disk - Widescreen 48 KHz
The source is as I said a JVC Everio in SD size. I saved the files in a backup Hard Disk. They are .mod files.
I don't know how to see if a Menu Sets is HD or SD. I tried almost all the available Menu Sets always with the same blurry results.
These images explain better than words.
Note that the firt image in the DVD Menu is perfect, not blurry. And this add a little bit of mystery :-)
this is the scene selection that has text blurry
And this is the logo I put in the right bottom side of the video. It is blurry. I put a high resolution image and it was blurry. Then I tried with an image .png with the same width of the video (720 pixels) and this is the same blurry effect:
The solution I use in these days to have goog results is very time expensive.
I make the editing work in my mac, without logo and menu. I make a dvd. Then I import the VIDEO_TS folder in my old pc, with my old version of Adobe Premiere 7.0. I insert the logo, I make the menu and then I make a dvd with my old PC and the resolution is the one I want.
Obviolusly I'd like to do all the work in my Mac...
The same problems and solution I used also with PRE 9.0
By the way, I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements in my Mac instead  iMovie because I need to do videos longer than 2 hours. And iMovie has this limit.
Many thanks in advance for help. There is someone that is using Mac and PRE 10 with GOOD results?

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12

I am using the above program and have saved the file which is 1hr 59 minutes into a folder as MPEG that has 1.71TB free of a 1.81TB drive. I am trying to burn the 5.9GB file onto a DVD which is dual layered.  The disk says the space is free and have tried multiple disks.  When I go to burn it, it gives me a response saying that the disk is something like 4.89GB to small.  I can't burn from my original file b/c I don't have enough hard drive space for the temporary files to burn.  Deleting programs really is not an option.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

    SlugHammer
Let us back up on this so that I do not take anything for granted.
    You wrote
The size of the file through the Publish+Share states Space Required: 7.41 GB(Bitrate 8.00Mbps) when Burn to: Disc is selected.   When I hit burn it states “Insufficient disk space on drive for creating temporary burning files.”
If the Space Required and Bitrate readings that you quoted were your readings with a check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space", then the usable DVD double layer single sided disc capacity should have been OK. But, the message does not mention disc capacity. It appears to be targeting "...creating temporary burning files". For me, that means the free hard drive space where the Encoded Files Folders - typically in Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/ . Where is that Encoded Files Folder located and how much free hard drive space is there?
    Then you wrote
If I click Burn to Folder with choice 8.5GB it states Space Required 1.58GB(Bitrate 1.69MBps), and if I chose the same DVD-Burn to folder 4.7GB it states 1.58GB(Bitrate 1.69Mbps) both have Status as “Insufficient disc space for burning” and both show folder location in my C Drive.
Here I think that you are in trouble with that Bitrate of 1.69 Mbps. That is the lowest possible Bitrate setting. The lower the bitrate the lower the file size, but the lower the quality. Even though you were doing burn to folder here, did you remember to put a check mark next to "Fit Content to Available Space"? That should have given you readings similar to those for burn to disc. Use of "Fit Content to Available Space" would be expected to get rid of the "Insufficient disc space for burning" message in the burn to folder.
Please critically distinguish between Insufficient space on DVD disc versus Local Disk C.
Two critical items for considerations as I see it
    a. Free space for the scratch disks
    b. "Fit Content to Available Space" use
Please review and let us know what is happening.
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements crashes on export

    Hello,
I am working on a video project in Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. My computer is a Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Dell XPS M1530 laptop with the following hardware:
    Toshiba MK3263GSX Disk Drive
    285 GB, 149 GB used
    burst transfer rate: 3 MBps
    5400 RPM
    8 MB cache
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T8300
    2.40 GHz
    4.00 GB of RAM
Whenever I try to export my project (which is less than 3 minutes long and contains no more than 2.25 GB of 720p 30fps video), the program crashes. Usually, the progress bar will go about half way before an Adobe message tells me that Premiere is running low on system memory. Not long after that, a Windows message appears telling me that "Adobe Premiere Elements has stopped working" and it crashes to the desktop. This has occured without fail perhaps 50 times in all my tries to get this to save.
As this project has progressed and become larger and larger, it has become more and more difficult to export. At first, there were no problems. Then, I had to start restarting the program or my computer immediately before exporting. After making a few more changes and additions, I have been entirely unable to export succesfully.
I have set my export settings at far lower levels than would be acceptable for this project, but the program still crashes. I was most recently trying to save the file as an .mpg with the NSTC Widescreen DVD settings. Trying to save in other file formats and at other settings has not been succesful.
I do realize that this is probably a commonly asked question, so I apoligize for bringing it up again. I have searched for information on this topic and have tried several suggestions, including changing the virtual memory and cleaning up my hard drive.
Is my computer just too weak to export this project? Would a more recent program fix my problem? Are there any techniques or suggestions I should try?
Thank you very much for your help.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 10 running sub-par or not?

I am new to Adobe Premiere Elements 10 and I have a lot of questions after using it for the past 4 days and getting aquainted.  First off here are my system specifications:
    HP Model h8-1214, 10GB PC3 10600 DDR3 SDRAM, 1.5TB hard drive, AMD FX 6100 6 -Core processor, AMD radeon 7450 HD graphics, Windows 7 64 bit.
This is supposed to be a top of the line computer and I was told it could handle video editing without any issues or hold ups after all best buy does not even carry higher end models then this one.  I am currently working on two projects the first is a re-edit of 1 hours worth of Mini DV footage already edited in windows movie maker.  The other is a 3 minute compilation of videos off my ipod nano.  All the video files are stored on a 500 GB Toshiba USB 2.0 external hard drive.  I have to say I am already experiencing hang ups, slow load time, NOT RESPONDING, and choppy footage when entering effects and titles.  Also just as a test I initially put 1.5 hours of 960P high deff footage off my GoPro and threw in some effects, transitions, and menu options to see if Adobe and my computer could handle it.  It did ok but it took almost 2.5 hours just to render and burn a single DVD.
I am used to similar crap on my wifes 400 dollar laptop but what do I have to buy for this thing to get it to just not stutter and work right.  I am very angry at this point since I was excited that I could finally get a computer and not be held back by poor performance as I have been in the past.  Any advice would be appreciated.

No, you need to create a project that matches what you are editing

  • How did you made videos fullscreen on YouTube with adobe premiere elements 10?

    Hello,
is there a way to made videos fullscreen on YouTube with adobe premiere elements 10?
Sorry for my poor english and thank you

The black bars are most commonly caused by having Source Footage, that does not match the Project's Frame Size.
This could be a pixel x pixel issue, with say 1280 x 720 Footage in a 1920 x 1080 Project, or it could be a difference in the Pixel Aspect Ratio. That is most common in SD material, between Standard 4:3 and Widescreen 16:9, but can happen with 1440 x 1080 Anamorphic, which does not use Square Pixels, or PAR = 1.0. With most other HD material and Projects, the PAR will more likely be 1.0, or Square Pixels. It could also stem from the Export/Share settings, having a different Aspect Ratio, i.e. pixels x pixels.
This ARTICLE addresses black bars in the Program Monitor.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
