Hello  Buddies,
        I have seen so mail threads somewhat near to my doubt but could you please tell me some good link for learning ABAP & Workflow for CRM. Also please advise me, being ABAP-Workflow Consultant which section of CRM is best suitable for me.

Hi,
ABAP    and Workflow for CRM is nothing different and specific to CRM. They are same and at least all the basic concepts are present. There might be some implementation and conceptual differences but they are more of functionality driven.
You start learning SAP CRM Fucntionality which will help you to understand SAP CRM much better. And then you can have a feel of the CRM feature and where and how it's been used to drive the ABAP and Workflow functionality.

    Client Proxy. When you need to create Proxy for your Sender system then the proxy is generated on the client side and the Class created in Proxy generation is called in a report/FM etc.
    Server proxy. The server proxy is created when you are sending the data from SAP XI to the receiving system.
    The generation of proxy in both the cases happens on the sender or the receiver system.

  • Having multiple J2EE stacks connected to one CRM ABAP instance for CRM IPC

    Hello Experts,
    The situation we were looking at is this.
    We have 3 distinct teams doing Java development for CRM IPC configurators
    Team A - IPC/Ecommerce
    Team B - UI
    Team C - Order Wrapper
    They each wanted to do development in their own landscape (Java Stack)
    Additionally, two more landscapes are needed:
    a landscape for end 2 end testing of the configuration scenarios
    another for a Performance Assessment
    To get 5 full dual stack CRM instances was deemed unlikely.
    Trying to explore if multiple J2EE's, can be connected to one CRM ABAP system.
    It seems we can not, as the CRM ABAP to JEE comminucation is via RFC and there is excatly one RFC_Destination defined per CRM (across all clients). Is this correct?

    May be you can wordsmith your requirement to make it clear what each team is doing. Also, please mention what version of CRM / IPC you are talking about.
    From what you have said, I guess IPC/E-Commerce is E-Commerce enhancement. If NWDI is in the picture, you have one track for this enhancement.
    The UI - I assume is IPC UI. This is also a Java based web application that shares the same Java stack with the E-Commerce application.
    What is Order Wrapper? - If it a custom web application you guys are into, I still don't see why they can't use the same Java "stack".
    In the development lifecycle, it is sufficient to have only one IPC environment for each phase. The development team needs only one, unless they have a valid reason to have their own Java stack. I bet they need only one.
    If the developers are asking about "Sandbox", they can have their own NetWeaver Developer Workplace in their laptop / desktop.

    You can debug in abap by placing a "/h" while executing your program,.place the "/h" in the bar where you type in your tcodes.
    alternatively, you can set breakpoints in your source code and then run it.

  • Workflow for CRM.

    Dear Experts,
    I am a beginer to Workflow.
    I have a scenario in CRM.
    1,The requester logs into portal and creates an activity in CRM PCUI screen.
    what i want to do in workflow is
    When the requester creates the activity and saves their is a field with a user name.
    I want to send a mail to that user name.
    and after that the user will acknowledge it, then the requester should get a confirming mail.
    After the user completes the task and comes back to the Portal and changes the status to completed.
    then the workflow should send a mail to the requester stating that task is completed.
    I will be glad if somebody can explain me the steps involved in doing this workflow.

    Hi Neel Kamal,
    It is simple.
    As you said that the responsible person will be found using masters.
    You know the initiator of the workflow.
    1. Go to the business object, create the subtype of the supertype. SWO1
    2. In the Method find the mail id of A and B. Create one more method for finding the status.
    3. Have this mail ids in a container element of the method
    4. Go SWDD, create a activity step, inside that call the method which is used to find the mail id of A and B.
    5. Do the binding between task-->method
    and Method-->task
    6. Come out and do the binding between task-->workflow container
    workflow container-->task
    7. Create a send mail step. In element give the B email id container element.
    8. Check for the condition for status change
    9. If status changed, create a send mail there give the A email id container element.
    10. activate the workflow.

    I am not sure about Lead transaction but in general Partner Functions are maintained in IHPA table. You can get the Partners based on the object number for Lead. To fetch the correct Partner you need to know the Object number (OBJNR) and partner funtion (PARVW). You can have multiple values.
    In your workflow,
    1. Create and generate a subtype(Z-business object) for Lead business object BUS2000108  and deligate the same to standard business object. (as suggested by Saumya)
    2. Create an attribute in the subtype. the attribute should be a VIRTUAL ATTRIBUTE.
    3. Place the cursor on the attribute and click on program, it will generate some code.
    4. between Get_property and End_property for your virtual field write the logic such that you get the object number from Lead tables and fetch partners from IHPA table and fill the final attribute using macros.
    swc_set_element container <container Name> object-<Container name>.
    4. Once the coding is completed, release the attribute and business object and generate subtype.
    Now required Partners will be available in workflow.

    Hi Akshay,
    Slight difference, I said "keeping the class clean of BOR <i>code</i>". By all means use BO's in the class: basically create a ZCL_MATERIAL, and use BUS1001 as an attribute (I use a naming convention BO_* for these). As long as it's the right type (SIBFLPORB I think - no system handy right now), and the key values are populated correctly the system will instantiate it as necessary. So in WF I can refer to ZCL_MATERIAL.BO_MATERIAL whenever I need any of the BO's functionality.
    You are correct though, creating a proper business class which you can instantiate such as material does involve a fair bit of effort and coding to set up. e.g. my last project I ended up creating one ZBOR subtype because all I needed was one new attribute - definitely not worthwhile creating a new class for. (USR01.zEmailAddress for what it's worth).
    I've said before somewhere, it's not without pain, so if you're under time pressure etc, then it may be better to do whatever's quickest. There's nothing wrong with using BOR macros, it will still work for quite a few versions. I just meant to say that pure class(y) code is a preferred way to go if it makes sense to do so. This is not always the case.

    Hi,
    Why do you want to trigger a wflow and what do you want to do with this trigger. Can you give more details of your exact requirements.
    But, if you are looking for how to trigger, you can write a small ABAP pgm and schedule it as a job every night. THis job basically reads the table P1000-ENDDA for expiry date and if it reached today, then you can either trigger the wflow with SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW or use SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT to raise your custom event(for Business Obj. BUS7018, i think this is your BO and there are no std events right now, so you will ahve to add your custom event by extending BUS7018 to ZBUS7018).

  • Disp+work.EXE stopped when installing NW07 for CRM 2007 on Maxdb Windows

    I am installing NW07 for CRM 2007 on Maxdb 7.7 and Windows 2004 64bit.
    The installer cannot start the dispatcher on step 32. The dispatcher starts with green and is running  a while but Dialog queue is standstill. After few secodes the dispatcher changes to yellow as become disp+work.EXE stopped.
    Any advice? I have checked the RAM and log sizes etc and they seem to be ok. Database is running ok.
