About Copy Express

finially i made my copyexpress works. but there are still something wrong.
1. I have above 500 BP master data, but in new database, only 8 there. why?
2. can't ticket all options one time, if i do so, the screen will be froze, copyexpress will have no response for a long long time.
3. in chart of accounts, come out some accounts that didn't exist in old database.
4. above 5000 Items master data in old database, but in new database is 0.
does anyone can solve the problem above? or I have to try the last shift----use MSSQL tools?

Hi,
I had a situation similar to this. Try copying things one by one. Like run CopyExpress and copy only CoA, than run it again and copy only BusinessPartners, and so on.
I believe it could not work correctly, when the volume of data is huge.

Copy Express distorting data

Hello
We have used Copy Express to copy one database into another.
This has led to several data corruption :
- loss of tax account in the tax settings
- change of item group code number (without a proper renumbering of data)
- copy of one user table into another one
Copy was done folder by folder (but we didn't do it all in one go) and I didn't untick any customisation.
We are in B1 2007 patch 37.
Has anyone seen those type of problem ? How did you solve it ?

Copy Express - Copying Print Layout Designs from one company to another

Dear All,
i was wondering if one of you on the forum could help me with copy express.
I understand through the DIAPI, you cannot code to copy print layout designs, and if you copy the fields through SQL, SAP will no longer support the database.
It is the first time using Copy Express and am very confused about what to do.
Could someone post a step by step was of saving a design and then copying from one database to another.

You can do this......
Go to PLDs and save a different copy of every PLDs by making Save as and then try to copy such PLDs.
I also encountered such problem and I tried the same I suggest you.
So try once.....

Data migration @ Copy Express

Hi guys,
I want to migrate the configurations, master data & definitions from the test database to the production database.
But I face issues with Copy Express during the migration.
During the copy process, CE hangs up or takes a long time and then gives an error.
I tried db to db and db to xml , no cure.
Then , I updated the version of CE to 6.80.01.60 ,BUILD_DATE: 190607_111200
Sap B1 version is 7.40.252 SP:00 PL:36
What could be the issue? What is the best practise to migrate data to the final db ?
What are the differences b/n 2005 B SP:01 and 2005 B SP:00 version of B1 ?
How about the B1 test tool? Will it be helful for test run of db ?

What is the most stable version of SAP B1 ?
I will upgrade my B1 & CE to that version and give a try.

Copy express addon is not responding

Hi experts,
When I am trying to copy master data from one database to another database by selecting all check boxes in Data Categories, the copy express is not responding. With out selecting the master data it is working properly but master data is not updating.
My requirement is to update the master data from one database to another database.
Please give me suggestions, what I have to do.

I have concern about the unresolved dependency problem with 'exclamation mark'. Because when you choose all checkboxes in Master Data category, thereu2019re a lot unresolved dependencies.
Dependencies are displayed to avoid situations arising where copying of records fails due to missing dependent records in the target database.
There're some suggestions for your consideration:
1.Resolve all dependency problem with 'exclamation mark' before copying.
2.When there're a lot user-defined fields(UDF) and user-defined tables (UDT), it's highly recommended to copy that when we create a new company by checking:
Copy user-defined fields and tables
Copy user-defined objects
3. In Copy Method Options, choose Add New Records Without Updating Existing Records.
4. Create a new DB and test.
In addition, we have Expert Empower Sessions (EEs) available on this topic. You can refer to Channel Partner Portal->SAP Business One Add-ons landing page->Copy Express->SAP Business One 2005 A Copy Express (January 12, 2006)

Using copy express for user settings

I am in the process of setting up 10 company databases on one system. The same users will have access to all of the databases (over 100 users). We have laboriously entered form settings for every possible form under the manager user in one of the databases. We have a script to copy manager's settings to other users.
What I need to do is copy manager's settings from the first database to each of the others. Copy express has an option to copy display settings, and I have attempted to do so. But I get a message saying that the record already exists in the target database. I know that manager has never changed any form settings in the other databases, so I don't know what record it is referring to.
Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

SAP B1 has the new feature of copy one user form settings to another. For B cluster it is 2007B PL 15.
Please refer SAP Software Center info and update to required patch.

Question about FC Express

Hi all.
I have no FC experience.....just some iMovie putzing with the family video's. I do use Photoshop CS5 and have years of experience with Pro Tools and work in film/TV production so I am not a total stranger to filmmaking and audio production, using difficult software etc etc. I spend hours every day in my music studio or editing photo's and minor video editing. Nothing deep like FCP though. I hear the FCP learning curve is brutal.
Anyway, I am dabbling with writing music aimed at soundtrack stuff for film, TV and commercials and am wondering about FC Express.
Would it be a good program to learn about dropping music into a video timeline?
I was thinking about trying to put together some stuff I shoot, Mini DV and Flip HD stuff and then write music for it to practice with. I'd also like to try and come up with markers and hit points and all so that as I get better I don't look like a total bozo when I try to get a short or low budge Indie or student film to score.
What I would really like to do is get some footage with dialogue and audio effect already mixed and then write to that.
I have friends who work in post who have agreed to look around for some stuff for me to work with. If they were to give me sections of FCP sessions, would I be able to open those in Final Cut Express?
Also, I read that FCE 4 does not have Soundtrack that 3.5 HD has. Is this a detriment and can one still buy 3.5 or has it been replaced with v4?

FCE should do much of what you require.
However, be warned. It is exactly the same app as FCP with a few items removed.
So for "normal" editing the learning curve is identical.
You will not be able to open FCP projects in it.
If you need Soundtrack you should be able to buy a cheap FCE 3.5 Upgrade on eBay etc. and just install Soundtrack.

Copy Express/ Account Segmentation

Dear All,
Am trying to make a duplicate of a Database by using copy express. Note that the Chart of Account is segmented. I have managed to copy everything using copy express except the Accounts . The title Accounts are being copied but no active account is being copied. If I view the log file after the copy express process, I can see Invalid Code in the error field.
Anyone having the same issue and managed to solve it

I try to copy data from one data bas eto another and I have the same message displaying I do not know how to fix the issue:
"Failed to create default folder for application file. Check option for default folder assignment"
what folder does it mean? is it under path option? what type of folder to use?

Hi
You have to create a folder on your desktop and set that path at the time of copy data.
When you will start copy express, at the time of selection of Base database and target database, you have to set the path for log files.

Copy Express will surely do the job and if you want to just copy a few templates individually, you could use this SQL Script

Vendor Master copying through Copy Express

Hi Experts,
I am copying from One Database to a NEW Database ( this database has diffrent configuration ) the Vendor Master Data through Copy Express but while runing the Copy Express I am getting an error as 'Bank does not exsits in the company'. In the Base Company Database from where I am copying has a diffrent bank acccount but in the NEW Database which is created is a another company and has diffrent bank account hence I cannot keep the same bank account as in the Base Compnay Database.
Please let me know how to achive a soltuion to it.

When executing the query from query generator as SELECT * FROM T0.BankCountr, T0.BankCode,T0.DflAccount,T0.DflBranch FROm OCRD T0 I am getting value in Default Bank as -1 and and rest coloumn are blank.
If I create manually the House Bank Account in the target company ( which means I create the base company bank account in the target company ) then upload may be done but one have to then manually change in the vendors BP master the target company bank account which is a tedious task.
Hope you are able to give a proper solution in this regard.

Problem while copying datas using Copy Express

Hai Experts,
Greetings.
We were trying to copy Master and Configuration datas from test database to Live database using Copy express. The datas from Item Master, BP Master copied Correctly, but, in CoA (we are using Segmented Accounts) the G/L Account --> the Code column shows the System refernce no. (ie., _SYS00000002679) and the Name of the G/L Account is copied correctly.
Is there any solution to solve this problem.

On your test company, there's segmented accounting setup. Is the segmented accounting setup on the Live company (or have you managed to use copy express to copy over the segments and other settings)?
If you've done that, then maybe you could export to XML your Copy Express worksheet and upload it somewhere so we can have a look?

I tried deleting all the the jars with that name, but the only place where the jar was was in javatasks. And restarted the server, but that did not help. I am wondering if my old adapters are pushing out the old code somehow, because I made those a while ago. The adapter still ran though even after deleting the jar and restarting. I assume this is causing the problem. Where do these jars get stored so that I can delete them. They are not found with deletejar utility.

Copy Express Item Groups Transaction revenue Account not Found

Currently using Copy Express.
1. Have successfully loaded COA
2. Manually entered G/L account determinaition and tax codes
3. Error below is occuring when trying to Copy Item Groups and Warehouses. The items groups and Warehosues are failing.
Transaction created by document was not found, 'Revenue account'.
NOTE: the accounts determined for each item group in the source database all exist in the target database.
Can any please assist in explaining why this is happening and how I could prevent this from occuring without having to mannually create warehosues and items?

Hi Lisa,
I have a suggestion.
The Revenue account in question may be problematic.
Can you try to change to another revenue account in your source db, and try to copy warehouse to target DB?
1.goto source db,and search for the specific warehouse and change the
revenue account to another account
2.and copy warehouse to target db

Copy expression only not working

I'm working on AE CC 2014.
Copy expression only is not working, I'm not sure if it's not copying anything or not pasting what it copied. But no expression is being applied to the other layers as it used to be the case before.

I filed a bug report with Adobe as you asked.
When you said the problem went away are you positive the only thing you did was switch applications? What's happening now is that I select Copy expression only and then try and paste and nothing happens, but then the entire menu is grayed out (see attached) until I purge everything, at what point the issue starts all over.
I also tried switching to other applications and copying something random there to see if I can unclog the clipboard, but nothing seems to work.
I haven't been able to make the problem go away.
